I visited today and ordered the Italian. The sandwich was disappointing because the toppings such as the meat, onions, and tomatoes were applied in such a stingy manner. I know inflation is real and food costs are high but when a customer pays for a sandwich they expect more than a sub roll with a few skimpy pieces of deli meat. Got a medium and a large sub combo, almost $40 dollars! Since when did it get this expensive to get a sub? After paying for the combo, every soft drink besides 2 diet options were out. We told the cashier and she said she will try and fix it. She was at the machine for 30 seconds and then came back behind the counter to mess around with another employee. They were cussing and horsing around. I understand if the machine is down, but just change the syrups? I enjoyed my food and service provided, I was disappointed to see someone who the staff clearly knew walk to the register, pull multiple "water" cups that were then filled with soda from the Coke machine and her and the kids grab bags of chips on the way out without paying. It was a bit unprofessional. While we were eating, a woman came in, I assume she worked there but was not on shift. She brought in several children, two at a time. If you're going to utilize delivery apps like doordash and uber eats, you need to make sure you treat those customers equally to those that come in. I ordered a simple 2 sandwich order at 8:08pm on a Monday night and was informed at 9:22pm by the delivery company thaty order had been cancelled. I ran a place that used doordash and uber eats and I know for a fact that you have to acknowledge the order and actually physically cancel it. You close at 9pm...almost a full hour before you close, and you mean to tell me that you couldn't make 2 simple sandwiches in that 58 minutes? then you had the audacity to wait untill 9:22pm to actually cancel the order? All this can be is pure laziness and disregard for your customers because if you did it to me then I can garentee you've done to a number of other customers. I know that sounds insane however, I ordered the sandwich for my father who is currently going through chemotherapy and radiation and it is easier for him to eat the sandwich if The meatballs are cut in half. The food was delicious I ate the other half of the sandwich but I really wish I did not have to tear my fathers sandwich apart in order to make it easier for him to eat. This is so much better than other sub places. The restaurant was clean and a great atmosphere. Staff was superb. They greeted us and were very upbeat and polite. One of them even came outside (great outside seating btw) to make sure i didn't burn my mouth on the Mac and Cheese! The sandwich was very tasty probably due to the fact that it wasn't bun-heavy. It was just the right amount of food. I loved that I could choose a side item other than chips. I love chips but always feel guilty eating them. Firehouse is my favorite place to go for sandwiches. Normally there is a good portion of meet and great tasting. On this day however there was a lot more bread than meat. Also, something was missing as far as taste goes with my sub and I am unable to figure out what it was. I get the same thing every time, the hook and ladder. Can't put my hand on it, but something was off outside the amount of meat. The older lady that works there has a great attitude and customer service (wish I got her name). One of my coworkers had an issue with her food, she came and apologized to her and talked to her about it although she wasn't the person that rang up the order. She rang my order up and was very polite . Many companies do not focus on customer service as much as they should nowadays but that was a big plus.
