I have a story to tell. I work at Saugus High School. Today I ordered a sandwich for lunch from our local Firehouse Subs in Valencia. I then drove to Central Park and waited for my sandwich to be done. When I got in my car to go pick it up, my car battery was dead and my car wouldn't start. Luckily, I have AAA and I called for help. My wait time for them to come was 1 1/2 hours. I sat in my hot car and called Firehouse Subs to cancal my order and explained what happened and why I couldn't come get it. The man I spoke to was very nice and canceled my order so that I wouldn't be charged. While waiting for AAA, about 10 minutes later, a truck pulled up along side me in the parking lot and asked if I was waiting for a tow truck. I said I was waiting for AAA, why? He introduced himself as the owner of Firehouse Subs, and reached into my car to give me a sandwich and coke. He was the man that I had spoken to on the phone. He was an angel! He offered to jump start my car so that I could have air conditioning while I waited for AAA. He had the kindest soul and I will be forever grateful and never forget this man's kindness. This is one of those things that restores your faith in mankind. Jeff, if you are reading this, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If anyone knows of a way that I can publicly acknowledge Jeff, please let me know. AAA did finally come and replaced my battery on the spot. read more

Tonight we came into this restaurant to try out the sandwiches. We ordered the NewYork steamer , Pepperoni pizza meatball sub , and a build your own sandwich with turkey and Jack cheese only . After waiting 35 minutes for our 3 sandwiches the meatball sandwich was lukewarm and the build your own sub was made incorrectly with everything on it . My wife's New York steamer was made with no Corned beef and was so small it you couldn't even see the meat inside the bread . I'm sorry but for $13 the sandwich would look like the picture on the wall . False advertising. When I spoke to the employee about the sandwiches he argued that I ordered wrong even though the receipt had the correct directions. When I brought his attention to the steamer he said that's the way it comes , I asked what comes on it ? He couldn't answer without looking at the menu . I asked to have both sandwiches remade and when they were brought back to us the turkey was correct but the NewYork steamer was now made with the correct amount of meat but now had ingredients we didn't ask for so we asked for a refund at the point because it has been over 45 min and we just wanted to leave . I asked for the managers number to contact them in the morning and they said "why ? I can't give it to you ? I wasn't asking for their personal cell number but just a contact number to discuss this visit. We were sitting waiting for the refund when after 10 more minutes we asked it it was done and the employee said I was waiting for you I need your card . They couldn't come over and let us know it was needed . Overall this was a bad experience the employees need to be trained to know the menu and to read the order correctly. They need to be accommodating to the customer and be nice and helpful. To argue with a customer over their errors is unacceptable. I also feel that if you advertise a sandwich to look a certain way to get the customer to buy it you should get a sandwich that looks that way too . read more

You'd think when spending over $40 (with tip and rounding up for first responders included) for two sandwich's and a cup of chili that one would receive better service. 3.75 stars. I ordered a medium NY Steamer sandwich combo, which came to $11.18. The wheat bread was OK; on the soft side. There really wasn't a lot of protein in the sandwich. The quality of the meat was decent, but overall it was forgettable. This may well be a case of ordering the "wrong thing" combined with the worker having a light hand, but I'm not particularly inclined to come back based on the sandwich I had. They have one of the new computerized soda machines, so you should be able to come up with a beverage that you'll like. read more

Honestly I've been always impressed with their food, my favorite is Engineer but their special ones Jamaican Jerk Turkey and Spicy Cajun Chicken are damn good too. Besides their food, their employees are also awesome! Very young people but they always greet and treat customers with great respects. 3.5 Stars My husband is familiar with Firehouse Subs because they also have them in Texas and Arkansas (where he has family). He told me that their subs were huge and really good. The one in Valencia opened in January 2015 (1 year ago). They have hot and cold subs, subs under 500 calories, and even salads. You can order online which we tried to do. However, I think it was having issues because my husband called them to make sure our order was submitted and they didn't have it. So we placed our order over the phone instead. For two combos with chips and a drink, it came out to approximately $20. We both ordered the Smoked Turkey Breast sandwich. Sandwiches that are "fully involved" means it comes with mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, and deli mustard. They give you a dill pickle on the side. They also have various kinds of hot sauces that range in spiciness. I really enjoyed my sandwich... the bread and turkey were really good and I liked all the flavors. I just thought the person who made my sandwich was a bit heavy on the mayo. My husband on the other hand was disappointed with his sandwich. He said it was tiny (skimpy on the ingredients) and not like he remembered at all. I guess that was the disadvantage because he's had it in other states so he can compare it to other Firehouse Subs. I have to agree that the sandwich wasn't very large. I finished the entire thing.... a bit bigger than a 6 inch sub, but not by much.
