Have had firehouse subs at a Florida location, and they were always pretty good. Tonight we ordered from the Mill Plain vancouver location via DoorDash. Ordered an Italian and a turkey build your own subs, but didnt notice the Italian was hot, and even though the turkey was supposed to be cold, it came warm as well. I ordered mayo, deli mustard, and Italian dressing on mine, but could only taste loads of mayo, to the point it was discusting. Wife ordered the turkey with Italian dressing and cucumbers, but didnt get either . Lettuce, tomato, banana peppers did not taste fresh as well. I realize that whoever made the sandwiches might need additional trying as well, but maybe management needs to supervise the quality of the sandwiches they are making ? I offer three stars for this particular location of Firehouse Subs. One star for cleanliness of the restaurant during a lunch rush. A second star for a brightly lit room with a menu well presented for everyone to discouver the options available. And lastly a thrid star for the calm manner in which the Firehouse team worked to keep orders in line and turned out during a busy time of day. I took one star away for the unwelcoming attitude. No "Hello or Welcome" and definately there were no "Thank you or Come Again." Finally I took away one star for the sheer price of a 4 inch sandwich being $7. From a quality and flavor standpoint, Firehouse Subs is maybe the best of the chain sub places. The service is always friendly and they always have about 2 dozen different bottles of hot sauce available for spicey aficionados. We shared a brisket and cheddar sub with a goodly portion of meat (though more would've been better). They always give you a quarter slice deli pickle which is a nice touch. Firehouse subs makes a great sandwich. The bread is fresh and I like the combination options. They are a bit on the pricey side but you do get a stacked sandwich! This location has a shared parking lot with many other restaurants so parking can be a bit of a pain and cramped. read more

I'm surprised I had never been to one of these! Stopped in on the recommendation of a friend. The decor is neat. Lots of firehouse stuff, the tables are spotted like dalmations, and a huge mural on the wall. I had the Italian sub. Delicious, with bread that was the most perfect toasted texture. I really appreciate all of the hot sauces too (they are labeled 1-10 on basis of heat, tho the 9's didn't come across that hot...but I do like spicy food). Plus they donate to firefighter causes. I ordered my favorite Firehouse sub, had to wait over 20min. no one else in the shop, and got a reheated sub much smaller than normal with almost no filling! Oh my!! Great Sandwiches. They steam the meat which sounds strange, but it makes for a really flavorful sandwich. They do not skimp on the meat either. I got the smaller size sandwich (Hook n Ladder) which was very tasty. My son got the large Turkey Bacon Ranch which he devoured. My wife's meatball was very good too. Friendly staff. Not sure who the troll was who said staff here was vaping...the store was professional and friendly and the sandwiches were soooo much better than anything I've ever received from any Subway. The sandwiches were full of meaty goodness and cookies were fresh. Staff greated everyone who walked in the door and were patient with customers needing time to figure out what they wanted. I've been going to this firehouse for many years, and the service has never been great. But, nothing compares to the horrible service now. No one is friendly, workers are wearing earbuds completely unresponsive to customers or the fact that customers are even there, and today I was greeted at the door by them telling me it's going to be 25 minutes to get a simple sandwich. My daughter goes right next door and orders a pizza from MOD for a total of $10. I do not usually complain about portion size but this was ridiculous. 100 yards away you can get big burger from Sonic and 5 guys and it easily will be under $8.00 for 3 times the amount of food.
