I am not a big fan of fast food chains but this place is pretty good. I had a large meatball sub and my wife had the Italian salad with chicken. Both were a solid 4/5. The meatballs were good and for just under $10 it was pretty big. I could barely finish it. I would get it with pepperoni next time. My wife liked her salad and she is pretty picky. The employees acted like the smoke in the air was from the grills, but the employees were just openly vaping fat clouds while they were working. I felt like I was watching dragons become air benders as I waited for my meal. The meal itself was alright, but my sandwich didn't have any cheese, however I'm an introvert so it's their fault. I believe you guys should send me some sort of compensation in the mail, but we won't worry about that today. Today we should worry about the hookah lounge that this establishment has become. I've been wanting to try Firehouse Subs for a while, as it is my boyfriend's dad's favorite sandwich place. However, I live in Seattle and there really isn't a convenient location for me unless I want to drive 40+ minutes for a sandwich. Luckily, I was visiting my mom this past weekend and we decided to finally check it out. The menu was sort of overwhelming at first, but I feel like that's true of any sandwich place. The guy at the counter was super nice, helpful, and patient. Even when the line started to back up a litttttle bit (like two people), he was totally chill. We ended up ordering the same thing- the turkey bacon ranch. My mom was worried about having ranch on a sandwich. The guy assured her that it was really good, but just in case offered to give her the ranch on the side! We also both got combos, which came with chips, a drink of any size (you can get any size for the same price with the combo!), and they serve you the sandwich with a pickle. The pickle was so good; perfectly crunchy and great flavor. I also really appreciated that they had baked cheddar ruffles- those are my fave. We both got medium sized sandwiches, but agreed we could've split the medium, or gotten smalls. Especially since we got the combos. Just a side note, they have those neat soda machines where it has a touch screen. You know the ones that allow you to add different flavors and what not? I love those! The sandwich itself was good. The bread was different from any bread at a sandwich place that I've ever tried. I think the ONLY thing that I would change next time is I'd probably opt for a cold sandwich. I just prefer cold sandwiches. We both agreed that we actually prefer Jersey Mike's better, buuuuut if I'm near a Firehouse Subs I would not hesitate to grab a sandwich there! Just a cool side note about the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation that they talk about on their cups. A portion of what you spend on your sandwich goes to this foundation, which helps provide first responders and public safety organizations with the vital equipment that they need. I usually am very satisfied with firehouse but tonight I went there for my dinner break. I ordered two soups and their Mac n' Cheese. Not only did it take about 10 minutes to get two soups and a cup off Mac in a bag so I could head back to my place of work. When I got back to my place of work I opened the bag to find the wrong type of soup in the bowls. Let's see...as far as subs go, better than subway .. which I'm not sure if that helps most people because it seems most people like subway. Myself, not so much. The subs here are better because they use more meat but then again they charge a lot more than subway. The thing I really didn't like was the bread, it was bland and airy and didn't have any "crust" to it, and for me it's a lot about the bread. You can pretty much skimp on the filling for me if the bread is really good but if the bread is crappy it ruins the whole sandwich for me. I had the turkey bacon ranch and ended up pulling most of it off of the bread. The Wife, The Tax Deduction and I have always been and continue to be big supporters of fire-fighters. Every Fourth of July we join a few other people and cook lunch for all ten fire stations in Vancouver, we have a political action committee that backs public safety, we enter the chili cook-off at Fire in the Park. When we heard about a sub sandwich place that was started by and supports fire-fighters we were there to check it out. I tried to not be a little biased walking in for the first time but the awesome just oozes out of the decor in this place. Murals of fire-fighters, the smells assault your senses, fire equipment on the walls, friendly and helpful staff standing by in case you are new to the experience. Then, I saw, over in the beverage area one of those new Coca Cola Freestyle Machines that can vend like a million and nine different soda flavors (ok, maybe 120, but 70 of those are low or no calorie). The holy grail for soda junkies! If you know my reviews you know I critique down heavily for a lack of low calorie options in restaurants. Not here! The menu has some wonderful sandwiches from smoked turkey to pastrami to roast beef and meatball subs. Catchy names too, like the Hook & Ladder Sub with turkey, ham and melted Monterey Jack or the Firehouse Hero Sub with everything. The Tax Deduction, suffering a serious lack of imagination for the 8 year old boy ordered a kids meal with Grilled Cheese ( complete with fire hat!). The Wife got the New York Steamer Sub with corned beef, pastrami and provolone cheese. Me, being the BBQ fanatic I am went with the Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket with Sweet Baby Rays sauce. At the end of ordering and the total comes up they ask if you would like to round up to the nearest dollar to donate to their foundation that helps buy protective gear for departments, fire safety education for the public, disaster preparedness relief and financial resources to people looking to make fire-fighting their career. Always round up! After ordering I looked around and saw the hot sauce bar, over 40 kinds of hot sauces all labeled with a heat index from 1-10, everything from A-1 Sauce to Dave's Insanity Sauces and everything in between with such mouth scorching ingredients as habanero and scotch bonnet peppers. But there was literally something for everyone. We played with the Coke machine and had a lot of fun choosing our drinks and then sat down to wait for our food. When we ordered they said it would be about 5 minutes and it was exactly that when they brought the food to the table. The sandwiches were just amazing with steamed meats and soft breads (yes, I went off the Gluten Free wagon for one meal). The sandwich was amazing, all of them, we traded around bites and there wasn't a loser in the bunch. We looked at other tables and everything there looked amazing. Even some sandwiches that were ordered "fully involved" with mayo, deli mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion and a pickle. Need catering? They have many options including on site set up and delivery. The results are in...YummmmmmmEEEE! We ordered the Hook & Ladder Sub (#1) and the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket (#10). Both are amazing. A little spendy when you first look at the menu items, the two sandwiches were $19.33 (round up to $20). However when we got them home we only ate half total between the two of us for dinner and are both stuffed. There is a ton of meat on the subs (it was literally falling off), and it's good meat. You can tell they smoke it there and it's good quality. Love that they have a fund you can donate to and an easy "round up" when you check out that goes towards their Giving Back Fund. All goes towards first responders, mostly local fire bureaus. Founder's are firemen that wanted to give back so they opened a restaurant. We'll be back! read more

It's lunch time and I'm in the mood for food I go for a good sandwich and nice people. I get both at Firehouse. Very accommodating and friendly. They always say "Welcome to Firehouse" when you enter. Decent price for the value but you get a good bread and meet. Only downside is the wait. I call ahead after I waited 20 minutes for a sub when there were only 5 people in the store. I think they have a larger order that came before me but 20 minutes for a sub is a bit long. I ordered a Hook and Ladder, old with Swiss cheese and a pickle. Never had a hot sandwich as I'm a cold sandwich person. Other than the wait I love the fact that it's American made and the donations you give go right back to the community. I love to think that I donated to the local fire and rescue groups in my hometown. I always donate when I go there. An extra buck or two really makes the difference. Just last year the local firehouse and emergency group near my house needed new software to alert rescuers of fires or other emergencies. It's nice to know that my hard earned money will help someone else as I enjoy a sub while I take some time out of my busy week. read more

It's a sandwich shop, but the food and service you get (for a sandwich shop) is pretty great. I see a few people comparing other places (Subway, Jimmy Johns etc) and as far as I see it, there is no comparison when it comes to the food. Subway is good, but Firehouse is better. And Jimmy Johns can't even make their bread soft. Gourmet? I think not. Firehouse is a good place to get a great sandwich. I could recommend so many of their sandwiches because I've had most of them when I lived back east. My personal faves are the Steak n Cheese or the Engine Co. It's not McDonald's, so don't expect clowns and play areas for your kids. Great food, but please for the love of god please fire whatever third party company runs your website/online pickup ordering. One of the absolute worst websites I've ever tried to use in my life. You have to try to click 2-3xs per sandwitch for it to go into your cart without getting a blank "ok" pop up that does nothing... you click ok and bam your sandwitch doesn't go into your cart. Rinse and repeat for 5 minutes till you realize you have to go into your cart click "add more" THEN you can add sandwitches into your cart. Cool now you have your sandwitches in your cart time for checkout and pay right? Wrong. Makes you sign in or continue as guest.. that's pretty standard... except neither option works off the bat unless you refresh the page 5xs. And if you are lucky enough to be able to use a guest account you get hit with a "There was an error communicating with the store you selected" "We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you please contact the restaurant at 360 253 4200 to place your order" Seriously if anyone from firehouse reads this try using your website to order to go it's basically impossible. 2 stars soley because the sandwitches are actually great and the staff is usually awesome.
