I've had a thing for Firehouse subs for about a decade. I used to go to the one down the street from my mom's house in Macon, GA so imagine my delight when I discovered one right here in the Couve. I love the toasty bun and the juicy innards. I always eat the club on a sub but I bet the others are tasty too. My 3 and 6 year old also love Firehouse so it's a great destination when mama doesn't feel like cooking. Oh yeah, I dig the coca cola freestyle machine too. Have been to Firehouse Subs twice now and I must say I am a huge fan! When you first walk in, it seems like every employee stops what their doing and says "hello and welcome." I have had the Italian both times I have visited. Great flavor, fresh ingredients, and just a treat. Forget those other sub places, Firehouse has my vote. As far as the comments being made about the age of the staff. Being in the industry for over 20 years, this staff does it very well. They are cheerful, polite, and knowledgeable. Every question I have ever asked about the ingredients of the food, they have always answered promptly and correctly. That to me....is impressive my friend. Worse sub ever! Delivery but just a super soggy mess! Large turkey bacon, supposedly a hot sub but cold, so messy I could only manage to eat less than a quarter of it and had throw the rest away, such a waste of food and my money! I ordered a small Italian sub on white bread to go. When I opened it, I received a tiny sub with one piece of ham and one piece of salami. So basically, it's all bread, 2 barely existent pieces of meat, a shred of lettuce and one piece of onion with gobs of Italian dressing. This is a "will not revisit again" stop. I first had a Firehouse Sub last Summer while visiting family in Dayton, OH. It was great then and even better now since they opened a shop here in the Pacific Northwest. (Pssst... I heard that they will be opening some more Firehouse Sub shops from Portland to Seattle real soon.) Outstanding service and subs!!!! The staff is very warm and friendly. They make the experience of eating out at a sub shop even better. This place is far better than Subway, Pita Pit, Jimmy John's, and Jersey Mike's! Here you get a decent side sub for your money filled with MEAT, not little meat and lots of veggies, veggies, and more veggies like those other places. Bad! This is the 1st time ordering from firehouse and it will be the last time. I have been ordering through grub hub for a while checking out restaurants in my area and supporting my community and this is the 1st one that completely disappointed me. We ordered a couple of sandwiches 1 hot 1 cold, a kids meal and some chips. I paid extra to get the kids meal that came with the hat and chocolate milk. We received rock hard cold grilled cheese no chocolate milk no hat and the other hot sandwich was actually hot but it had a weird aftertaste that we couldn't eat. So after spending almost $60 for this lunch we were left with a couple of bags of chips that we could eat & a very sad child. While they have lost my business hopefully by making this review they will fix their issues so that they do not continue to have disappointed customers which could lead to no customers at all. Had lunch with the wife today. The staff seemed enthusiast and polite. The wife's Sandwich was not hot and the meat was chewie. Mine was incorrect, but they took care of that on short order and was really good. I would suggest that they clean the vents in the ceiling, they were dirty with dust, and most likely grease. Best meatball subs ever! Service is always fantastic. All employees are friendly and courteous. Restaurant is clean and has fun firefighter decor. We once received a meatball sandwich with cold meatballs (they had just made a fresh batch), and when we let them know some of the meatballs were cold inside, they made my son a whole new fresh sandwich, which was perfect!! This placed just opened so it is pretty popular right now. I had to check it out since I love me a good sandwich. This one was no exception to greatness. I highly recommend getting the "Fully Involved" Italian sandwich. Italian meats and provolone toasted with italian dressing, mayo, mustard, lettuce and tomato. I had mine with some salt and vinegar chips. All for about 8 bucks. The fountain drink cups were a little to big for my taste but others might like the value. In an area dominated by Subway at (quite literally) every corner, the Vancouver/Camas locations offer little choices for sandwich specialty shops. The nearby Jimmy John's serves great normal-sized sandwiches, but what if you're craving something heartier and more filling? Firehouse Subs is the answer for those who want huge meaty specialty sandwiches at a low price. What I love at Firehouse is that they don't suffer taste when in-favor of focusing on the meat rather than the veggies or condiments (but don't get me wrong, the assortment of hot sauces they offer is phenomenal). The service was quick and friendly, although seems to be run primarily by teens who have decent customer service experience. The restaurant itself focuses on a firefighter theme, so you'll find tribute to those aspects throughout the shop (whether it be decor or color scheme). What is also really nice is that they highly support the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which in-store donations from rounding-up your purchase or buying a $2 pickle bucket will go towards supporting. I definitely recommend coming to Firehouse Subs with friends or family and checking out what they have to offer (you'll be stuffed after eating here). The sandwiches come in huge portions and are full of meat (unless you opt for low-cal or vegetarian options). Besides the option of white or wheat bread, most sandwiches will come Fully Involved (mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a dill-pickle spear) unless not mentioned in its description, which will then be more meat-based. I highly recommend asking for the Fully Involved even if your sandwich does not come with it. The deli sandwiches are stuffed with a lot of warm, thinly sliced meats that soak up flavor incredibly well, while others are thicker but still nevertheless tasty. My personal favorite is the #5 Turkey Bacon Ranch; the peppercorn ranch sauce is absolutely fantastic. Sides offered include chips, soups, chili, cookies, and brownies. Came here yesterday during the start of the business lunch time rush (11:30). The workers were all very friendly and greeted us upon our arrival. I ordered the meatball, while friends got the Engineer and the Turkey Bacon Ranch. They brought them to our table quickly. We all really enjoyed our sandwiches. It was obvious the bread was fresh and it made the sandwich that much better. I had to eat my meatball with a knife and fork it was so covered in cheesy, meaty, saucey goodness. In a medium sub there were 4 or 5 meatballs. My friend that ordered the Turkey Bacon Ranch ordered it without ranch or onions. They brought it to him with ranch but no onions. When he said something they offered to remake it for him- no problem. He declined but it seemed to me they were really willing. I noticed that someone else's sandwich order was a little off too, so if you deviate from their recipe check your order. THe decor of the place is cute and festive. There is a mural on the wall and the table tops have a dalmatian pattern. I would definitely come back if I lived in Camas. With their order ahead service it would make it a great spot if you only had 30 minutes for lunch. I really loved that they asked you if you wanted to round up your bill total for charity. This is my first visit after wondering what it was all about, I walked in at 12 o'clock the place was buzzing they were shoulder to shoulder on the make line making up sandwiches. everybody was very courteous explain how things work and I was impressed with the cleanliness of the store and the beehive of activity. The ordering process was straightforward they had their standard sandwiches and I assume I can custom make anything I wanted. you to phone in and fax in, as of yet I have not checked to see if they have an app but I'm hoping to do. So far I'm not impressed. I had the fully involved hook and ladder 8 inch sub I was not expecting hot meat on a cold sub sandwich therefore I didn't like it. I will give them another try however I'll take my wife and daughter back and maybe have one of their hot sandwiches I will say the pickle rocks I will definitely check the place out again and read other peoples reviews about their sandwiches. Firehouse Sub is the most disgusting place i have been to yet. I am very disappointed with Fire House Sub. We spent $52.00+ on 4 large Subs and got Two SMALL subs for the prices of TWO large subs.. In my sub I asked for the White bread with turkey breast, Cucumbers, Green Bell Peppers, Lettuce and Manaise. I got NO cucumbers, and the turkey breast was covered it white fat! And was so slimmy i couldn't even take a bite out of it. I Do NOT reccomend this place, Save your money and go to Subway. Cheaper and Better. read more

I LOVE firehouse! Delicious food and amazingly kind, wonderful employees! My husband and I scraped together all of our (very little) cash for a special treat but when we got to the cash register to pay for our order, we realized my husband had left his wallet in his (not my) car. I was so embarassed and disappointed. We stepped aside to try and figure out what to do. I had just enough $ on me to buy my 2 year old daughter a small sandwich and I went back to adjust our order and the very very kind super wonderful young man at the register said he wouldn't do it and insisted that our entire order was on him. He wouldn't even accept the little bit of money I had. He checked on us throughout the meal, even bringing my daughter a fire hat, crayons and menu to draw on.
