    Thai Curry
    Chris P.

We visited Finn Hall with friends and family on one of the colder nights of Houston. It had been a minute since we've visited the hall, which has a few new spots inside. One that caught our eye was Firenoodz. Food - 5* We all ordered the Thai curry and some Fried cheesy balls, which were a twist on fried mac and cheese balls with rice inside. Some of the folks in our party weren't a huge fan of them, but others loved them. Everyone was happy with the Thai curry choice, which really hit the spot on a cold night. Service - 5* The gentlemen running the show this night was very friendly, made recommendations based on what we were looking for, and overall was quite informative. The food was ready quite quick, but it wasn't super crowded either so that may have helped with the queue time. Cost - 5* The bowl was about what you'd expect to pay, maybe a little high, but given it's in a hall, the prices are always a bit higher at these setups. Overall - 5* Everyone agreed they would definitely come back and try a few other bowls!

If you're in Houston and haven't tried FireNoodz yet--you're seriously missing out! I'm obsessed with their creamy gochujang noodles--rich, spicy, and packed with flavor in every bite. And don't even get me started on the cheesy fire balls... crunchy on the outside, melty and delicious inside--actual perfection. I tried their Thai curry for the first time yesterday, and WOW. Phenomenal flavor. It had the perfect balance of heat and creaminess with bold Thai spices that linger (in the best way). Every dish I've had here feels like a flavor explosion

The noodles are so soggy and mushy and the meat was burnt. Flavor was good but noodles are so overcooked they just turn to mush when you try to pick them up. Was really excited to try this place, def wouldn't order again :(

This was actually the meal I got after I already ate at another place within The Finn. I went, decided to get Korean food (fine but this place blew it out of the water), then decided I had room and HAD to try this place. I got the spicy soy sauce noodles without the Thai chills, which ended up being just the perfect amount of spice. I don't eat eggs, PERIOD. I haven't even ordered fried rice in the 30+ years I've been alive (not allergic, just hate everything about them). I tasted them as soon as I started eating but it was literally so so good I couldn't stop. I broke my lifetime egg strike for this dish, and it was so worth it. The balance of spicy, the noodles were the perfect texture, tofu well marinated, green onions interspersed for moments of freshness??? Art. My only regret was that I tapped out before I could try anything else and that I'm not a local so I can't come back as often as I need to!

Had the Thai chicken curry. Spicy and terrific. Loved the crunch fresh red onions with it.

Food was amazing! I got the spicy noodle and it has a balanced flavor without it being too spicy.

Spicy soy, so salty couldn't finish. Noddles were hard. Not good. Took like 5 bites. Overpriced overrated.

Food was just not impressive. Crispy ribs were ok, just seems lacking in flavor and all I could really taste was the smoke. I was thinking they would be dripping in sauce, but they weren't. Not really falling off the bone or anything as far as tender. 6.2.10 Brussel sprouts were not great. Very bland and a little mushy. 3/10 Salmon was pretty good, feel like this dish really hit the Asian fusion theme. Nice apricot sauce or something similar with seaweed and pickles. 7.1/10. Chicken Karaage was phenomenal, but an appetizer can't save the whole meal. Dipping sauce was awesome, perfectly fried and balanced flavor. 8.7/10 Con fritters were also a must try. No notes. Try it if you like corn. 9.1/10 Potatoes were also very nice. At the end of the day they are just taters though. 6.6/10. Wanted to really like this place heard great things. Would check it out again to try more things in the menu and the brisket which is only served after 4pm.

We went with the brisket egg rolls, which were fresh and hot when we got them. Sauce was a good balance with them and I really liked this item. The cowboy katsu had great flavor, but needed more sauce since our bowl quickly turned into just bland white rice that got left behind. An extra side of bbq, or more toppings overall would've helped a lot for me.

While I was standing there debating on ordering, the employee behind the counter was eating. I figured he'd stop once an order was placed. As I went to order kiosk, I saw him look up toward the front, then put his hand in his mouth to remove food while still in the kitchen/service area. That completely turned me off from ordering so I left. I didn't dare risk if he'd wash his hands because why would you do that to begin with. I understand people working long shifts need to eat, but in an open kitchen environment, presentation and sanitation matter. Unfortunately, that interaction alone was enough for me not to continue with my order.

I was literally the second person in line, and also ordered the soft shell crab and peppered tuna baos. It was just as I remembered. Quality small bites. The crab rangoon burrito didn't really taste like crab rangoon. It was extremely creamy and heavily filled with cream cheese almost to the point of being overwhelming. After a few bites, it started to feel a bit sickening, and I don't think I could finish more than one slice. It was missing that traditional savory, umami flavor, and instead tasted only like cream cheese. The outer layer also didn't hold up well. It wasn't strong or crispy enough to support the filling, so everything felt soft and fell apart. It honestly made it difficult to eat without a spoon (which they did include). It was also overpriced at $16. The service was good and the ambiance was pretty standard.
