    BLT with crinkle cut fries
    Char D.

Honestly, if you're looking for a local dive bar to watch a football game, or to just feel like a local while visiting, you need to check out this place! We came at 10am to watch the SeaHawks game and were met with a full bar! The bar stools are reserved for the regular customers but plenty of table space. The BLT was a simple classic, and the boneless wings packed a mild punch. Great deals on drinks. Our server was great and made us feel so included with the regular crowd. Highly reccomend

This is my favorite bar in Kent. Fun atmosphere, plenty of TVs for games, pool tables, stiff drinks and surprisingly delicious food! The French onion soup is the best around, and the chicken fried steak really hits the spot too, especially with a Bloody Mary with a football game on. I haven't had any bad food here and the service is great!

Top down view of Dragon Melt, waffle fries, and krinkle fries

Fantastic! We had this a couple of nights ago (I have just been busy with my new teaching job so haven't had a chance to review it properly). Really impressed with the dragon melt, the krinkle cut and waffle fries were crispy and light and the chicken tenders that I shared with my Mom, had a nice thin batter with nice fresh chicken. Plus, it was still hot when we got it home. Major major improvement and I'm very happy to give Firestarter a four star. Keep up the great work!

    Thirsty Thursday with wings

Fun and friendly atmosphere, came across this place while searching for wings and drinks in the area, since I'm still learning and exploring the Greater Seattle area, and attending a Yelp Elite event in the area. I arrived late afternoon, before they really got busy, as it was Thursday, and the football game that night, was a big rivalry, Seahawks playing the 49ers, definitely a Seahawks crowd (imagine that?!? Lol) but a few niners fans as well. Enjoyed the friendly and salty bantering, keeping it fun. Reviews favored the chicken wings, and they sounded real tasty, so after ordering a Boneyard IPA, which was refreshing, I ordered the buffalo wings, they came with fries and a house salad, a good blue cheese dressing added for wings and salad. Service was fast, Wings were meaty and good sized, just the right amount of sauce, finger licking good w/o dripping all over. Delicious. Fries were good just right, crispy on the outside, and the house salad was well proportioned with veggies and black olives mixed in. Trying to be a little healthy. While enjoying the wings, I ordered a Manny's Pale ale, which is fast becoming a favorite of mine, since it's usually available at most eating and drinking establishments, reminds me of a PNW version of Sierra Nevada pale Ale, flavorful and refreshing w/o being over hoppy. Bar tenders were on task, never a empty glass in the place, before asking for another. They did have happy hour and game day specials as well. Definitely looking for a return visit. Happy Holidays and Yelping! Cheers!!

They are booths along the wall and some tables as well. You have a cooler of drinks and fountain drinks, and milkshakes as well. I had the ohayou gozaimasu burger - which comes with a beef katsu patty (ground beef, breaded and fried - you can swap it out for chicken or pork as well or tofu if you prefer), topped with a perfectly fried egg, crispy bacon, melty cheddar, creamy Japanese, mayo, finely shredded crunchy cabbage and zingy Katsu sauce This is a really unique burger. I've been wanting to come here for a while and I'm happy. I finally had a chance. I'm looking forward to coming back and try one of their burgers with chicken Katsu and also pork Katsu in the near future, but I had to go with the original beef patty on the first visit. Service was great. I was greeted quickly and provided with some suggestions after I mentioned it was my first visit here. Their menu is unique so that type of help is appreciated. I made mine a meal and got it with fries and you can choose from four different types of seasoning for your fries or get them plain. I got mine with the furikake seasoning which was nice and added that umami flavor profile perfectly. You also get to choose dipping sauce and I went with more Katsu sauce, but they have five or six others that looked good. I chose a lychee oolong tea in a bottle from the cooler as my meal drink, but you could also get a fountain drink or upgrade to a milkshake if you prefer All in all, this is a really really cool creative twist on classic burger spot. They also serve some bento boxes and Katsu style hotdog at this Kent location here. The bathroom was really clean as was the lobby and the open kitchen. All in all, I'll give them a 10 out of 10 and I will be back

This classic, no-frills spot carries a nostalgic charm, with a casual, welcoming atmosphere that makes it feel like a staple of the community. It's the kind of place where the focus isn't on trends or presentation, but on delivering satisfying, flavorful food that keeps people coming back. The Hamburger perfectly captures that philosophy. It's simple--nothing overly dressed up or complicated--but that's exactly what makes it shine. The patty is cooked well, with a satisfying sear that brings out the natural flavor of the beef, while the bun and toppings complement rather than overwhelm. Every bite feels balanced, familiar, and genuinely delicious, like a reminder of how good a straightforward burger can be when it's done right. The California Burger steps things up with a more layered flavor profile. The meat is cooked just right--juicy, tender, and full of flavor--and paired with fresh toppings that add both texture and brightness. There's a satisfying richness to it, but it never feels too heavy. Each component works together seamlessly, creating a burger that feels indulgent without losing that classic drive-in appeal. Another standout is the Onion Burger, which might be the most memorable of the bunch. The patty is cooked to a juicy perfection, locking in flavor with every bite. What truly elevates it, though, are the caramelized onions. They're soft, slightly sweet, and deeply savory, blending into the burger in a way that feels effortless. The combination of the rich beef and the perfectly cooked onions creates a harmony that's hard to beat. Not everything hits the same high note, however. The Calamari Rings were a bit of a letdown. There was a slightly off-putting seafood smell that took away from the experience, and the breading felt excessive--so much so that it would fall off easily. On top of that, they leaned a bit too greasy, making them heavier than expected and lacking the crisp, clean bite that good calamari should have. Despite that one misstep, The Family Drive-In excels where it matters most. It delivers consistently great burgers that highlight quality, simplicity, and flavor. For anyone craving a classic drive-in experience with satisfying, well-executed burgers, this spot is an easy recommendation and well worth the visit.

So for what feels like a decade, I have passed this place coming out of the local AMC, as there is no other attraction in Kent I would stop for. Based on reviews, I decided to give the place a try, but again, I think this place has been here since at least 2015 and with under 40 reviews, it's clear they are not changing lives. In reading reviews. More than one person said the prices were high for a truck, but I did not expect burgers approaching $20. The burgers were grossly overpriced. Someone said they had twice the meet of most places, I doubt that, I'd be shocked if it was more than ¼ patty, the burgers were big, but also incredibly thin. I would have much rather had a burger twice as thick on half as much bun. I actually ended up tossing the lower bun and folding the burger back on itself. That was issue 1. Issue 2 was after a decent wait for free food, my fries were under-cooked, and I didn't get any fry sauce. There were bottles on the tables, but it was 50 degrees, so we weren't eating outside. I assumed there was a small cup in he container, but only ketchup. I had the guacamole burger and instead of thick, chunky, rich guacamole, I guess a tangy avocado sauce. It also had a strip, maybe two of bacon that was so thin, it added no flavor. I've had much better for a lot less and despite the women being as pleasant that can be, this was not worth the money and proved to be a massive waste of time as well, because we certainly passed at least 6 places that make a better burger for less. I can't recommend and won't be back. The food could have been 30% less and I still would have been let down. Unless this was a bad day, this was the worth burger meal I've had in my life. 100% overrated.

This truck was single handedly manned by one lady and she was nice and a quick cook. We got the horchata, the guac Mexican burger and the chorizo torta. I've never had a Mexican burger and my husband warned me that they're huge...he wasn't wrong. It was the size of my face and very fresh. The disappointing bit was that the guacamole is the powder mix kind. His torta was tasty but he wasn't completely sold, although he said he might return for lunch one day. Over all a good find in a somewhat complicated intersection.
