My work vehicle was towed here after i got a flat tire on Jerome Avenue. The guys at the front desk were so kind and patient and kept me updated throughout the process of getting approval and getting the tire replaced. I was anticipating a very long wait given the fact that i wasn't a typical paying customer and had to go through my work channels for payment. But they had me out in about 90 minutes which isn't bad considering it's a small, busy shop I've waited longer at costco. i would highly recommend this business if you need it. read more

If I could give this godforsaken place less than one star I would do it in a heartbeat. I've never felt so de-feminized in my entire life. First off, let me start off that I've been through enough car trouble already to write a book so when I see a scam mechanic I know exactly what the hell I'm dealing with. I recently leased a Fiat 500 Pop and noticed a few bubbles on my Firestone tire. NOW WHY ANYONE WOULD STILL USE FIRESTONE TIRES AFTER THEIR CRAP QUALITY AND SERVICE IS BEYOND ME but whatever I love my Fiat. No one in my area had Firestone tires and I finally (after driving all day with the fear of my tire blowing out and killing me and surrounding people), found a Firestone place relatively close to me, so I drove there. WORST MISTAKE. Upon calling, the guy I spoke to on the phone was a complete sarcastic snob who said "yeah you might not want to drive that, if you get here by 6 we can accommodate you" I went because I depend on driving my car for my two jobs and school 7 days a week and I really needed to get it figured out as fast as I can. I checked my tires numerous times on my way there (I would get out and look to make sure the bubble wasn't getting bigger), and even when I got there I checked ALL my tires and my drivers left tire was the one with issue (I will post pics below). They take my car at 6:15pm and it was done in a matter of minutes (very fishy to me considering I've changed tires before, it's not that quickly done). I pay $140 for a new tire and I finally think my troubles are over until I go outside CHECK ALL MY TIRES AGAIN BEFORE LEAVING and now my DRIVER BACK LEFT HAD THE SAME BUBBLES THE FRONT ONE DID!! When I told the mechanic who only seemed to give a crap because I went back inside to ask a question regarding now bubbles being on my back tire (he was watching my reactions from behind the window prior to me going outside), he comes outside and goes "Oh it's a little bubble, you could drive on it for two to three months or you can hit something and it blows...oh by the way where's your center cap?" In all my anger, I had just noticed they took my center cap WHICH WAS THERE WHEN I CHECKED BECAUSE IT HAS "500" IN THE CENTER I WOULD HAVE NOTICED. He pretended to look for it when I know DAMN well these people switched my tires and charged me for a new one. I WILL BE CONTACTING THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL I GET ANSWERS!!! YOU GUYS ARE CROOKS AND LIARS. It's disgusting how mechanics still think it's okay to take advantage of a female who tries to settle car trouble on their own. Rude and condescending to women: I have been a loyal customer at this Firestone location since 2012. Much to my dismay, the attendant at the front desk today was nothing but rude and condescending today in his attitude towards me. I came in to this location at 3:45 pm today requesting to flush the gas tank of my 2009 Ford Focus because I had filled it with E85 gas and immediately there after my check engine light came on. The attendant responded that "we don't do that here" and that " how do you know it's the gas? anything could be causing my check engine light to come on and that a full diagnostic to determine the cause would be recommended. I responded "ok, can I have the check engine light diagnosed and the attendant very condescendingly responded "nehooooo" and I asked why not -he said it was late in the day and I should bring it back in the morning. I will NOT be returning. The attendant could have politely asked me to return in the morning. read more

Yelp needs a NO STAR rating for this lack of service. On November 16, 2018, I made an appointment over the phone to have three different services done to my car on December 2, including TIRE REPLACEMENT. When I arrived to the store here on Boston Road, the representative told me that they had no tires in my size. What? I was totally lost and confused because I had made an appointment for these specific services over two weeks ago. Plus, I hadn't been contacted by anyone to tell me that they would not have tires for my car in advance of my appointment. What is the point of making an appointment if not to prepare the location/store for the pre-service needs of their customers? I have totally wasted my time coming here today and was told that I would need to come back another day to get tires. That is not likely because I will not patronize a brand that doesn't do their pre-service planning. Recommendation: The Service Manager or another member of the staff should follow up with their upcoming appointments to make sure that they will be as well prepared as possible. read more

I cannot praise this place enough. Five stars doesn't even cover how awesome this place was when we needed it the most. On a routine drive from Manhattan to Boston, our car's "check engine" light came on and it immediately began to overheat on the highway in the Bronx. Having no clue where we were, not being at all familiar with the Bronx, we got off at the next exit, for Gun Hill Rd. After getting coolant at Auto Zone and filling up the radiator's reservoir, we started off and immediately overheated again. So we pulled into Firestone to see if they could take a look. The technician who would ordinarily handle a check engine light issue was out, but the guy on duty said he'd come out and have a look. Long story short, he saved the day. He got the radiator back in working order and filled with coolant and within a half-hour we were on our way to Boston. And we arrived safe and sound. The guy didn't have to help us, but he did. He saved our car, our weekend, and my job. read more

These guys totally rock!!! One Saturday afternoon, I was on my way to see my mom and as I'm driving, my car stalled on me. I pulled over to the side and had Geico call a towing company. Long story short, I was towed to this Firestone. I got there about an 1hr before closing, thus I had to wait for my car to be serviced on the next business day. That Monday, they called me and gave me the bad news. The timing belt had popped in the engine. I asked if the timing belt could be replaced and of course, it couldn't. Chris, was really nice and explained to me that the cost for that option. The car was a 1995 Honda Odyssey and had aloooottttt of miles on it. It wasn't worth it. He gave me some other options to consider and helped me once I came to terms that my car needed to go out to pasture. These guys are amazing and Lloyd is now my new mechanic...Thanks guys for all of your help.... read more

(Review is primarily concerning a purchase from http://TireRack.com and the installation of four tires at this location.) The price posted on the TIRE RACK Installer page was $11.40/tire for mounting and balancing which meant a pre-tax total of $45.60 with four tires. I called the day prior to confirm this price and was told the same. On the day of install however the quote printed up and asked to sign was as follows: $39.96 -Standard Wheel Balance $11.96 -Wheel Balance Parts (4 x $2.99) $28.00 -Wheel Balance Labor (4 x $7.00) $20.00 -TIRE RACK Tire Wheel Installation (4 x $5.00) ------- $59.96 -Sub Total I pulled up the TIRE RACK Installer page on my phone showed the posted price to the manager Deric (who gave me the original quote) and to his credit, he looked it over and without a hassle said he would honor the price posted. He then reworked the numbers on a new quote so the mounting and balancing on four tires came out about the same as posted on the TIRE RACK Installer page. As for the installation process the wait was longer than expected even after the car was brought into the bay but no complaints on service so far as I type this one week after install. Bottom line: its a small shop with about 5 bays and the service is just fine. I would only advise you read the quote you're given before you sign it. The numbers may have been standard prices but I for one don't like to see one price online, confirm the same over the phone and then when I arrive with four tires in the trunk first thing Saturday morning, be given a higher quote. 5 stars means its an in and out job, however I gave this 4 stars cause I had some waiting (2 hours of waiting). So I came to this spot because I wanted a tire rotation also because Mavis discount tried to play me by selling me tires to a 2017 Nissan Rogue which is dumb. Anyway you know that here in NYC there are a lot of potholes and it can shatter your car when you hit them. So part of rotating my car I ask them to do a safety inspection, which they did. My car got its check up and everything is well. I will be coming back to this place to do some more maintenance checks for my car. read more

May 28, 2013 - Got a "classic car" (translation: expensive used car) a few months ago, after not having a car for years. I remembered the hassle it was (years ago) getting a car serviced and getting ripped off etc., so tried to call some "national name" places to have the brakes repaired on a low-mileage 1996 (yes, 1996) car. There are a bunch of no-name places all over the Bronx (Joe's auto shop, Jose's auto shop, Guido's auto shop). But my guess was, no-names would take one look at me and then take me for a ride: "Uhh ... yeah, your subplatform shocks and struts are shot, and your muffling transformational catalytic converter system needs to be replaced ... as for your brakes, yeah, they're not up to the new federal code and the whole braking system has to be taken out, steamed, painted, waxed, polished, re-aligned, and then put back in." "But just for you, we can give your our special price of $1,999 excluding tax, to fix everything up. You're really lucky you came to us today because your car would've exploded in a day or two. And we just happened to have a cancellation so we can take you right away, all we need is the $1,999 in cash, up front. We have an ATM right here for you to withdraw the cash, go ahead, withdraw $2,000 right now, and we'll do the work." NYC and especially the Bronx is all about ripping people off. I called Meineke, Midas, Mavis, Pep Boys, Goodyear and Firestone (after checking the locations on google). Some didn't answer, the ones that did answer all said, "we have to see it to give even a ballpark figure". Firestone (this Boston Post Rd. location) was the ONLY one that said, "Well, if it's just pads front & back it should run around $200 including labor; if it's pads & discs then around $400; if it's everything including the calipers and flushing the brake lines it should run around $800 max". So I made an appointment for complete (pads-discs-calipers-flush) brake service. Got there at 7:45 a.m., one of the guys checked me in (computer) and I sat down in the waiting area and read a book to wait. At around 9:00 a.m. the same guy came over and said "your brakes are not that bad, come over to the bay so I can show you," and he explained that all 4 discs (rotors) were still in good shape, but that (as a separate issue) the axle bushing/housing was cracked and leaking, and would I want it repaired (he pointed it out to me; the car was up on the hoist). I told him to go ahead and do whatever needed to be done for the brakes (pads, flushing the brake lines) and fix the bushing, too. At 11:30 a.m. he came over and said it was all done, explained the warranty, and gave me a computer-printed itemized bill for $460. The final tally was in keeping with the estimate given over the phone; also, he took me over to my car up on the hoist to physically point out exactly what work would be done and why (and what work didn't need to be done, and why ... the discs were still shiny, with only very minor etching). Could not be happier that everything was above-board and professional, as opposed to the usual "Uhh, yeah, special for you buddy, only $1,999 in cash" kind of thing. Based on my experience above, I recommend this place, and will go back in the future, for any other needed repairs. read more

Update 11/20/18: Today I found out that this location lies to their customers. I purchased a lifetime alignment three years ago, and I have been coming here once a year to get my alignment. My first initial alignment came with a print out results of before and after. After the initial payment visit, this location had stated that the printer is broken when I asked for the result report. Then today, before I gave them my number (to look up my account) I asked if the alignment comes with a printout result because I need it for my manager (made up an excuse), they stated: "Yes it does." I gave them my phone number, and they saw it was a lifetime alignment. I waited and saw that the person before me came for the same service, they got a printout. I was next, and they stated the printer ran out of ink. Really? This location is full of it. They have been lying to me after the initial service. They see that this service has no charges, so they do not do it. Last year, I did notice that my car was still pulling, I called, and they stated that I must have hit a pothole on my way out. Whatever, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. But now, I know they have been lying to me. I made a complaint to corporate; they will contact me in 48 hours. I urge everyone who experiences this issue to call and make a complaint on this location; they need to stop taking advantage of people and do honest work on their customers. PLEASE, EVERYONE, AVOID THIS LOCATION, THEY LIE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. IF I COULD I WOULD GIVE THEM ZERO STARS. read more

I took my very noisy car here to be looked at before driving across the country and I was thrilled at the care it was given! I was shocked when Chris had me come with him to test drive the car - he is an expert at diagnosing sounds and he immediately knew what the problem was. Unfortunately it was an expensive fix - new bearings and all - but it's like driving a new car! Went to CR's to find the best rated battery. Called up a bunch of places to see who had it in stock. They said they had it and their price was the best. So I drive over to their shop and pick up the battery. I confirm with the guy there that the battery I called about is in fact the battery he is selling me and he tells me yes. I pay for the battery and see that the model number of the battery is slightly off...but the guy tells me it is the same thing. I carry battery to my car and then using my phone google the model number of the battery they sold me....totally different battery than I asked for and not the one CR rated well. I walk back into the place confront the guy with this information and demand a refund. I get a refund and leave. THIS WAS A HUGE WASTE OF TIME! I would not go back. read more

This place is mediocre at best. I needed bleed done for 2009 van and they did not have the technique or will to release the bleeder screws for proper brake bleed. They said they were unable to open the bleeders. I asked if they sprayed PB blaster and they said yes.. They are good at breaking parts and replacing calipers if you let them... read more

Went on a very busy late Saturday afternoon and it took quite a while to get my car in for an oil change. That said, I might have given them 5 stars if I had gone at a different time and they weren't so busy. They were incredibly courteous and took care of me without trying to sell me any unneeded extras like they do at jiffy lube. I will be using them for all of my regular oil changes and I suspect my 4 star rating has a chance of going up to 5. read more

Avoid at all costs! Zero stars! Came in for a brake pad job. Car was put on the lift, I was shown an oily rack and pinion boot, and was told I needed an expensive rack and pinion job. Brought my car elsewhere, they removed the boot and found it completely dry, and that the motor oil drain plug was loose and leaking oil. No problem with steering system. Will report this to Better Business Bureau. Yelp did not offer zero star rating option. read more

Recently, I went to have a routine tire rotation and balance. Prior to arrival I had no issues with the tires. 3 hours later, I received my vehicle and was told I had a bent wheel. I left and later noticed the steering wheel shaking and I had a rough ride. I returned, and asked them to rebalance my tires and still yet I had the same problem. Two days later, I returned again and attempted a 3rd rebalance and once more with no change. Fed up with the service I then went to the Firestone store in White Plains NY. The result, all the tires were out of balance and the wheel that was suppose to be bent was NOT! It had 2x more weight added then was needed. Now it rides great. I had a Carco photo inspection done on 3/19/15 at the Firestone at 3540 Boston Road in the Bronx. The technician sent the photos to the wrong insurance company as there were multiple errors on the receipt (e.g. Wrong insurance company, wrong color of the car). When I called about it, the staff was extremely unapologetic about the error. On top of that, I came into drop off the car to have it redone on 5/14/15 and the person in charge, Chris, opened up the store at 7:10am (when the store is supposed to open at 7am). He was unprofessional and lackadaisical about my concerns with the previous photo inspection. When I called at 11:30am for an update, he answered the phone and when I requested to talk to a supervisor, he responded in an extremely rude tone. I was never updated about the status of my vehicle and when I went to pick up the car, no information was given...not even an apology from them for having not taken care of my car properly the first time. I will be sure to never go to Firestone again and I will also let everyone I know to never go to that Firestone location especially. read more

I went in for a wheel alignment and tire balancing. They recommended I get new tires saying the ones I had were severely feathered. Ok. After the work was "completed" and I'm finally leaving the shop, I hear a noise coming from the back of the vehicle. Mind you, they usually test drive the car but the worker tried NOT to test drive it until we mentioned it. However, I hadn't heard this noise BEFORE getting new tires. So I brought my car back so they could fix it. They ended up changing the tire after they rotated it to the front and still heard the noise. I was in this place for a complete work day! 937AM until after 5PM. I thought everything was ok but this noise later returned. The more I drive and the more I press down on the breaks, the louder the noise gets. I thought, maybe if I drive it for a while it will go away. Not the case. So I called them and brought my car back today. Now I am told it is my breaks that is the problem. My breaks were FINE when I came in for a wheel alignment that later became new tires. With labor and the price of the tires the cost is TOO MUCH MONEY for you to try to charge me for something else that YOU CAUSED. Sometimes I feel you see a woman and think you can just charge/do anything and it's ok. Well it's not. Money does not grow on trees. I am so annoyed and disappointed. SMH. Pissed-off!!! read more
