When my regular mechanic closed, I thought I would give here a try to replace my spark plugs. Good: Quick-ish service (see "Bad"), clear about costs (when asked), no more misfiring spark plugs. Bad: They didn't have the spark plugs in stock, despite me having made an appointment ahead of time. Ugly: I paid and went out to my car, which would not start. Not even an attempt of starting. They had informed me that my battery tested poorly, which I passed on because it's from 2024 and still in warranty. I pulled out my jump kit and attempted to jump the car. No life. I go back in and tell them the situation. Three of them go out to look and get it started. When I asked what the issue was, they again told me it was a bad battery and offered to swap it out, which I again declined. I took the battery to the store I bought it and they tested it at 95%, not poor enough to get a warranty replacement. It's been a few days now and the car has started without issue. Conclusion: I don't know what they forgot to connect that my car wouldn't start but trying to pass it off as a bad battery is dishonest. I will not be returning to Firestone. read more

Very unhappy with the service that I received at this location. I had picked up a very small piece of metal in my tire. I took the tire to this location after speaking to Jose on the phone. Jose barely looked at the tire and said that it would probably need to be replaced. He said he would have "one of his guys look at it" in which 3 guys were standing around the tire and not even looking at it when he came back in saying that it could be an entire blade in the tire. When checking the size of the tire he told me the only tire they have in stock for me would be 150 plus tax. Unlike my normal mechanic who actually would have taken the tire off the rim to check the issue. I was out between a rock and a hard place to buy the new tire. I am taking my "damaged tire" to my mechanic as soon as he is open to check it out himself. Above the door to their shop they have the words " lI believe fundamentally honesty is the keystone of business" -Harvey Firestone. I have gone to couple of firestone locations nearby and this is the best one. I was in and out faster than the other locations for the same service (alignment). I made an appointment online and the work was done in under half an hour and I love that they started on my car right away wen I got there. Compare that to another firestone location that I was at two weeks ago where I also had an appointment but they didn't start on my car until after an hour of waiting. The staff was very good at communicating and being efficient. I really like their alignment rack. It is in ground so there are no issues getting my lowered car aligned. Another plus is that they inspected components in my car and told me what needed to be changed soon. I had no idea my tires where that low in tread until they brought it to my attention. read more

if I could give 0 stars I would! I want to start by saying I've been a Firestone customer for years. NEVER will I go back. I'm not a review poster but this felt important. Recently my car would not start. We called AAA. The first thing the technician noticed was how loose and unsafe my battery had been installed. So unsafe that he explained the battery could have exploded in a front end collision. We went back to this Firestone who installed it. We were accused of intentionally loosening the battery. Why? No idea! We were only asking for the $50 in labor costs back. We were completely disrespected. It is clear the staff here does not care about their customers' safety. I went in for a simple tire fix and I left with my check engine light on and trac off light on. I came in on Sunday May 3rd because I had gotten a flat tire the day before. Things seemed fine at first, but then I get in my car and start it and once it's on I see that my check engine light is on and the trac off light is also on. (Both of these lights were not on when I came in) so I go back in the shop to tell the guy, he asks the tech about it and then comes back in and says something like " he does remember if the lights were on or not when I brought the car in" even though when they did the "free" inspection the tech didn't mark that the lights were on, so obviously they did something that turned them on. I'm not too worried since I know that I keep up the maintenance on my car and up until this point the lights were not on. I'm just confused and frustrated on how something like this happens. The guy never even bothered to take a look to see what happened. Now, since it's Sunday I have to wait another day or two to take my car into Toyota so they can see what thehas happened. ‼‼Update ‼‼ Steve, the manager here, contacted me the next morning to see what happened the previous day. After telling him the issues I had encountered he told me to come in so he could take a look at my car. I was probably in and out in 10 minutes and it was a simple fix. Something to the effect that the tech may not have tightened something thoroughly during the complimentary inspection (exactly as I expected). Wow the difference is like night & day since my visit, last year. I just had tires put on and had the pleasure of dealing with Chris, Jenna & Jason while making my decision. They know what customer service is all about. I worked for Firestone back in 1979 and back then customer service was top of the list, and many business's have forgotten that. Parking: I like the fact I can park my car and not blindly drive into a garage door. Location: awesome and close to shops incase you need to occupy your time while you wait, good will and Sally's beauty supply close by. Staff: friendly and knowledgeable and if they are not intelligent they have me fooled. Also informed me their was a coupon available prior to my visit which is I thought was very courteous. Accommodations: comfy chairs while you wait and they are honest about how long they you are going to wait. There is coffee and tiny chairs for young children. But being games for your kids if you have them and need to bring then with you. Prices: check for deals online, I was happy with what I paid for what I received. read more

Sorry, but, i can't give this place a good review. I came in to have a flat tire fixed about an hour before this place closed. They said they were closing soon and wouldn't even sell me some cheap fix-a-flat stuff. They said I could bring it in the next day and asked if I'd like to schedule an appointment. I told them I only work in the area and live near O'Hare and that I probably shouldn't drive that distance on a flat tire as it's probably not very safe (yes, I can be pretty sarcastic at times). So, I had to call a tow truck to take it home as most other tire repair shops were closing as well. It was a fun adventure that didn't really need to happen and this place did not help in any way. read more

I was told the installation would take 1.5 - 2 hours so I waited. Three hours later I am asked if I also want an alignment. Understand I already paid for premium tires at over $850 I said yes to the alignment. Five minutes later the technician says its done. I say how do you do an alignment in 5 minutes. They say we did it on accident and hoped you would pay for it. I left feeling cheated and that they were less than honest. Then while driving the car home one of the tire sensors goes off. I call and speak to the technician and he says bring it by. I say I want them to look and see why it went off. I return the car and now all four sensors are going off. Two minutes later the technician comes out and says he reset the idiot light. I am upset at this point and I say I could do that, I want to know why it went off since you just put new tires on it. He says well I didn't charge you to reset it. I am like really of course not. I brought it back so you could determine why it went off. They also didn't apply any discounts that they advertise. Don't go to this Firestone!!! They are not living up to brand reputation in their service. read more

I just had my first negative experience at this store. I had an appointment scheduled. When I arrived I could not get the attention of the person behind the counter as he was giving his pitch to sell tires. I left and came back 10 minutes later and had the same experience. After 32 minutes of waiting beyond my scheduled appointment I left. Additionally I check the service bays. They were all full which means that my scheduled appointment was not going to be honored as they over scheduled. I called the store before driving away and the person that answered the phone asked if I could hold and I said no, they hung up on me. As a former Firestone employee I find it hard to believe that this is the kind of service that Firestone tolerates. I believe it has to do with employees that are not supervised closely enough. My experience with Firestone has always been good with the exception of this visit. read more

I had a great experience here! I used their online scheduling to set up an oil change. They don't instantly accept it, you have to get confirmation, but that was pretty quick. I got there in time for my appointment and was surprised by how clean the facility was. They had a tv, but it wasn't blaring, as well as a newspaper and coffee. The chairs were clean, not gross like other places I've been and I wasn't too hot or cold. I used my coupon for a 19.99 oil change and they asked if I wanted them to check the fluid levels, so I said yes. They suggested that I get an additional service, which I denied, but they didn't push it. Instead they gave me a print out of the estimated costs of that. I've gone to lots of places for oil changes. My dealer was great until they got a new service manager, so now I'm all about convenience and this place is perfect! read more

I've been to this Firestone for new tires and a new battery for my car in the past. Always have quick and great service. When my routine oil change at the dealer came back and they said I needed new brakes and other work done, I knew to go back to Firestone instead. I'm so glad I did! These technicians did a full check and let me know that I didn't even need them. I appreciate their honesty and know that when I need brakes, this is where I will return. I had a sad experience for my second time at this business establishment. My inquiry on a headlight change for both headlights on my Buick Lucerne 2009, I was told it would take over 2 1/2 hours labor and cost me $315. The two bulbs cost $20. Thankfully I knew a friend/mechanic and he fixed it in 45 minutes and charge me $50. He said next time it would only be a half hour he learned an easier way to do the repar. Automotive care is not something I know much about, however, I do know that my oil needs changing (thanks to the sticker on my windshield). So I happen to have an unplanned day off and I decided to take care of business. Off to get an oil change I went. Across the street from where I live there are many different places that offer oil changes. I chose this particular location for no real reason but I am so glad that I made this decision. I walked in and I was greeted by Lou. Knowing nothing about cars going to a place like this is a bit intimidating but he made me feel at ease. I asked for an oil change, he told me about the winter check special they had going and for $10 bucks you can't go wrong. I have to stress that he didn't try to sell me the service, he wasn't pushy, he just mentioned it and I took the bait. He gave me a copy of my work order so I knew ahead of time how much this would cost me. He said it would be about an hour so I took a seat and waited. They had a tv on, free wifi and although the waiting area only had about 4 chairs, it was comfortable. About 30 min later Lou showed me what the inspection showed and everything was fine. 15 min later I was done. It took less than an hour, I was not pressured to buy anything and the service was great. They charge a fair price for a diagnostic and it is guaranteed! They won't give up until they figure out the problem. And then the repair is guaranteed for a year! Once for a (unexpected) flat repair which they offered an appointment the next day, which does no good, and the second time trying to drop off my car for an oil change first thing in the morning and being declined. Their oil changes are much less expensive than other places, and they've always been honest and upfront about any potential issues and what the costs would be for them. I went in yesterday with an exhaust issue, and after inspecting it, they told me what the cost would be if they ordered the part from the dealer and fixed it. The gentleman who helped me told me I could save money by going to another shop (a competitor) and though he hated losing business, he wouldn't want me to pay so much for the fix. I went to this location looking for a specific premium tire to be replaced on my SUV. I was told, yes, we can replace that exact tire. I agreed to the purchase, but once installed I noticed that they had replaced my tire with a cheap Firestone tire. Now why would I want a tire that doesn't match the set on my SUV? Why weren't they upfront and tell me they didn't carry the brand I needed? Totally deceptive and unscrupulous to just make some money. This is the WORST experience I have ever had. I brought my car to the shop at 10:00 am and they said it would be done befroe 2:00 pm. I called 10 times and left a message to see if my car was done and they never answered or called me back. I went there around 3:00 pm and my car still on a lift so I left and decide to pick up my car later in the day. I show up to pick up my car and they closed early and locked my car inside the shop!!!!!!!! I went here for a quick oil change on my way home from work one night with the usual inspection, tire rotation, etc. and ended up waiting for like nearly 3 hours. I had so much time, I walked to the nearby Wendy's ate lunch and came back and still my car wasn't ready. When it was finished, the guy told me like 3 things wrong with my car like the battery needed replacing, the windshield wipers, etc. which I knew was BS because I had just changed the blades not to long ago. For my following oil change, I went to my usual Midas near my work and they couldn't find my lug lock key. So whoever rotated my tires at firestone obviously didn't put them back in my car so god forbid if I have a flat tire in the middle of no where I won't be able to even change my tires. Bad bad experience at this firestone location. 9/15 go in for alignment service after i had gotten multiple suspension parts replaced not by this shop. 2001 jeep fully dealer inspected.prior to visit. Manager scott returns and says we couldn't complete the alignment because drag link is seized. Was not charged and left right there. Was recommended to replace ball joints to complete alignment 9/17 returned after i inspected my suspension myself discovered there was play in the same parts they tried to adjust to complete the alignment. The play was NOT in the steering prior to my first visit. The manager scott claimed the movement in the drag link was normal and that it was suppose to move ,called them ball joints that are connected to the drag link adjusting rod. I believed it wasnt suppose to move the way it did. I was able to create a deal to get these parts replaced with no labor charge. Because they wouldnt take care of it. 322$ parts only. A repair not needed when i first came to this shop. 9/18 After the parts were replaced the play/movement i experienced before was NO LONGER IN THE STEERING SUSPENSION...the play that the manager claimed was normal. I came here for an alignment and left with 2 drag link ends and a drag link rod that needed to be replaced after the shop attemped and alignment. When i asked the manager Scott if he understands where im coming from on this situation his answer was " yes you brought us your broken car and you are blaming us for braking it" 322$ out of my pocket for their mistake. If the tie rod ends were sloppy why did they not recommend those before the alignment to ensure a proper alignment ? read more

The Firestone in Carol Stream, IL has terrible customer service. I stood and waited for 15 minutes, got the attention of the workers on the floor, and was not acknowledged at all. When someone finally spoke with me, she was rude and curt and expressed no apology for the time waiting and lack of attention. Drove to Carol Stream and hit a pothole on North Avenue that destroyed my right front tire. Made it to a Firestone dealer since I have their Bridgestone tires. Spoke to Matt. I have run flats so he had to make sure he had a tire in stock, he did. This is a Saturday morning and they are busy. He was able to get me in and get the tire replaced in about an hour and a half. I purchased the road hazard coverage when I bought my tire set so this replacement tire cost me about $20. Nice. Matt and the crew were very professional. I highly recommend them. I left my Audi to get the cooling system's thermostat inspected. They ran the full diagnostic but they did not find the actual problem hence they did not charge me not even a dollar. Their final report has been reassuring to me because it showed me that the car was actually cooling as usual and the issue lied on car's temperature gauge. read more

Told me I needed tierod for my truck, I took it to my mechanic and he said there was nothing wrong with my tierods?? Just sent my wife in to rotate tires and they told her one tire is unrepairable due to a nail in the sidewall, when I called about it the guy told me its in the bottom??? But still not repairable. And very rude and cocky on the phone....but nice when trying to sell you services.......
