The employees hate their job. They see customers walking in and they roll their eyes or frown. I came 3 hours before they closed today and their parking lot is not even half full yet he advised me I'd have to wait until tomorrow for my oil change. Took Expedition in for inspection. Got the call that everything passed except for front ball joints.... Cost??? $645!!! Ball joints from Autozone cost $34 each. I asked the mechanic doing the inspection how far out of spec the joints were... He couldn't give me a spec... Only that in his opinion, it was too loose. I told them I would get the work done myself, citing the cost of the ball joints, to which he replied, "well, we're not the lowest cost on the block.". I got the joints replaced for 1/5 of the estimate from Firestone.... And 2 mechanics that I went to both indicated they would not have failed the inspection for those joints. So here is the point... My experience with this shop might be out of the ordinary, but it is the experience you dread when taking your automobile in for a mandated inspection. My advice is to get a second opinion when a shop like this springs something like this on you. Unfortunately, most people just pay the price and go on. If you are able to get a second opinion, I would encourage it. The workers at this shop are friendly. Like I said, I hope my experience was an anomaly... Ok so I must drop these guys down a star! I can only assume I didn't notice this sooner due to all the rain we've been having but my car was leaking oil from the hood of of the car. I noticed as I was leaving work last night, so I called Firestone and headed over there. I was extremely upset when I was originally told on the phone the couldn't look at it until the next day even thought they didn't close for 2 hours. However I was visibly upset when I git there so they checked it out ASAP and discovered the technician hadn't closed my oil cap. Seriously?? Anyways they were nice about it and I kept my anger in check and everything was cleaned up and fixed. I also got a coupon for a free oil change although I'm unsure I want to use it lol. So I deduct one star for the incident and not two because once I got there they handled things very well. read more

This location has gone to extremes to provide solutions to my mechanical problems so that I can keep my commercial vehicle on the road and in service. They have been efficient at diagnosing problems and making repairs in a timely manner. There is a reason this location is so busy; They do good work and have outstanding work ethics. read more

I've been to Firestone at this location before. When you plan ahead, it is great. It is a very busy location and appointments are best. I bought tires here for my last car and thought I would shop around again. They had the best price. The folks followed up prior to the appointment confirming tires and time. The staff was busy, professional and helpful. Another auto shop said I needed brakes. Firestone checked and I did not. They made some suggestions. No pressure to purchase. Great experience. I would not go there if I needed a quick oil change. read more

Always get a second opinion if you get a quote from this Firestone location. My wife took her van in thinking she had a problem with her starter. "Yes, you have a bad starter and it will need to be replaced. That will cost you $748." My wife called Honda and not only was a new starter $110 cheaper, they hooked the van up to diagnose the issue and her starter is 100% fine. This isn't our first experience with questionable practices with this location, my wife didn't know so she took her car there out of convenience. Never again. read more

Awful service. Total rip off. Don't bother making an appointment with a specific mechanic. They never honor appointments and give your car to anyone available- which isn't good! For the most part I have had fantastic experiences here. I must say that it has depended on who helps me. Mark is solution oriented and the main reason for my loyalty there. He understands that I'm not exactly dripping in money and has been honest about what should be priority to fix on my older Toyota. Had a great experience here this afternoon. The Low Tire Pressure warning light came on when I was leaving for a meeting, luckily I was driving by Firestone at the Arboretum in Charlotte and pulled in. I had bought tires there for a previous car, but had not been back since I bought a new vehicle. They told me to pull the car around and quickly checked and filled all four tires and sent me on my way. Very professional and polite! read more

Anyone in my family or I have taken our vehicles in to get work done, they do a horrible job, and then somehow something else goes wrong that hadn't previously been wrong. One time our battery died magically because the workers left our lights on, so we got a free battery out of it. I guess I can commend them for realizing it was their fault and fixing it for free, but their way of business is to replace whatever needs to be replaced with crappy parts and they charge you an arm and a leg for it all. Be very careful when taking a vehicle to this location. I was quoted over $820 for work that would have been done for $600 at another reputable garage. As it turns out the work got done for $346 because Firestone was going to replace the front brake pads and rotors and the other mechanic told me they had only used up about 1/2 of their "life". Also had a coupon for $60 off PER axle and I was only given $60 instead of $120. They also recommended I have the battery replaced which added about $150 to the price listed above and when I questioned why a 5 year battery in a 2005 vehicle all of a sudden there was a coupon for $30 off the battery! read more

I took my car to Firestone on Providence today, November 15, 2012. I went for a oil change and I received a call that I need a brake light on the right side, windshield wipers, and front wheel alignment. I had my car inspected last week and all I needed was a light on the licence plate and a new tire. I went somewhere else and got a tire. I passed the inspection, now a week later I need all this other stuff done....It's strange that my brake light went out within a week..need windshield wipers and a alighment...I would think I would need these things to pass an inspection...Be careful, sound like they are just trying to make more money. Went to get my car inspected. I had a coupon for an oil change so I checked my car's online system, to see if doing both in one visit made sense, and found I still had 20% life left. Mentioned that to Charlie when I checked in and discussed saving the coupon for later. Despite clarifying which number they could reach me when done, Lou called my husband's 2 numbers, not mine. Lo and behold, they said my oil light was on and needed changing, my coolants needed to be flushed and my front end needed alignment. I KNOW the oil need was a lie and so didn't trust anything else they said. Someone else can thank them for my business. My car passed inspection and I will pass on this Firestone for anything requiring real mechanical determination and repair. read more

I initially spoke to Julie on the phone about a lifetime alignment. She provided me with a great price and very helpful information. I also spoke to the manager Charlie and explained how meticulous I was about my car. He completely understood and had confidence in his employees to perform my alignment without any issues. I came in Sunday and spoke to David who was extremely professional. The technician Scott educated me on the alignment specification and proved to be very knowledgeable. Everytime I go in there, someone gives me a different answer about the price of something. For example, I got an oil change once. They rotated tires with it. The next time a different guy was there and told me I had to pay 20.00 for tire rotation. Which is it?? It's like that all the time. I went to Firestone to have my brakes looked at because they were making a strange sound. The team there was able to help me immediately and send me home with new brake pads within a matter of a few hours, which was impressive on a Saturday morning! Screwed up my tire issue (big hole in tire from nail) last week (after 4 hours wait time), so I had to go back less than 1 week later for another tire repair that took 3.5 hours. Do not let this Firestone do your state inspection. They will always find things that must be fixed before they pass you. Always. We took three cars in...all three needed wipers. My favorite was when they said the connector piece needed to connect the car up to the state inspection machine was missing and I would have to pay $89 for a new connector. I refused and they offered to give me a new connector for free. read more

We have been customers of this Firestone service center for 15 years and have noted a deterioration in quality of service. Like others we have noted the push to sell additional and marginally needed services. More importantly, however, they have given us at least 3 expensive mis-diagnoses. Somehow these issues are always not their fault. They also use after market parts that have left us with oil leaks and other issues. We will be looking for a new service center. Very sorry since they are so convenient to where we live, but we do not appreciate being taken for granted. read more
