Rewriting and reposting the review since I was responded to for my last post by Lee but the promise to "escalate" and resolve the issue was then ignored and passed on once again for what seems to be countless times. A timeline was given for 2 business days on April 20th for a response. Very unfortunate and unprofessional. My recent post: "I had a very frustrating experience with Firestone in Elgin. After a repair they performed, my battery started having issues that weren't there before. My entire car would shut down out of no where I ended up having to go to another shop to get it fixed and paid out of pocket. When I tried to get reimbursed for the damage caused, I was sent through their claims process and spent 4-5 months going back and forth with both the local store and a claims representative. I was repeatedly told my case was being "escalated" through 4 different channels (local manager, area manager, district manager, and corporate manager) and that I would receive a follow-up call within 3-4 business days and I'd always call a week later to follow up when those calls never came. I worked directly with Jayden Moore at the Elgin location during this process, and despite multiple follow-ups, nothing was ever resolved. He blamed the other mechanic and didn't take responsibility when the evidence of the issue always pointed back to Firestone and the work they did. The problem was always the battery and the other location fixed the issue which is clearly stated in the invoice. He said the other shop was claiming to be the "knight and shining armor". Very unprofessional. The lack of communication and accountability was the worst part. I wasted months trying to resolve something that should have been straightforward. In the end, nothing was done, and I was left covering the cost myself. Their year warranty on their workmanship, even after Firestone checked the vehicle after the damage was done that I had to pay an extra $120 for (Date of inspection - Jan 2nd), holds no truth. I would not recommend this location based on my experience. If something goes wrong, don't expect timely follow-up or resolution." read more

I've came to this location a couple times over the pass couple months for just air to be put in my tire. I'm respectful and I know this location is very busy so I always go inside and ask can I just get some air in my tires and the respond is always, " Yes just pull into the first driveway and someone will help you." 3 different times I've came and waited 15 to almost 20 minutes before I just pulled off. While siting there they will see you sitting there waiting and just walk by. Now sometimes they are under a car working but sometimes they're just walking around laughing with each other. Especially a lightskin man with black glasses constantly walked past my car and made eye contact with me while I wait. I just need air in my tire that's it , that's all. Even if it's too busy just simply tell me that you can't do it right now and I will accept that respectfully and try somewhere else. This is constantly an issue I have when coming here and I come here a lot because they're right down the street from me while i live in WoodCreek farms homes. Please fix this! read more

Worst service I've ever received. I scheduled my appointment online and even received a confirmation email three hours before the scheduled time. When I arrived at the Firestone location, I was told that the appointment was not confirmed and that they had supposedly called me at 6 AM to inform me it was unavailable. Absolutely unacceptable. It's embarrassing that such a large and "prestigious" company can have such incompetent and unprofessional staff who clearly have no idea how to provide decent customer service. On two occasions, in less than 6 mos, I got a nail in one of my tires. I took it to my nearest Firestone. I was told (both times) that the tire wasn't patchable. They suggested I needed 4 new tires or at least one or two. (Huh?) So ya'll are just picking random numbers of tires that I need to replace? My tires have about 10K or so miles left on them (hopefully) and the wearbars are not showing. I feel as though your policy is either 1. take advantage of women or 2. refuse to patch a tire if they look like they may be in their last year-ish of life. Subsequently, I took my tires somewhere else to be patched both times. The tech said they were absolutely patchable. However, he said this happens frequently with yall. These experiences have exhausted my trust. Every set of tires I have ever purchased has come from Firestone. Probably 10 sets in my lifetime. I am beyond disappointed that loyalty doesn't run the other way. I expected more from you all and have been terribly disappointed. read more

Terrible customer service. No greeting or anything. Couldn't even tell you his name. I wanted a quote for an AC service and could only get what the diagnostic fee was. I understand that many things could change the price but I need to know what I'm looking at before I go in. Didn't feel like leaving my car in their hands would be good. Even after being polite and thanking him for what little information he provided he just him up on me. No follow up questions, no have a good evening, nothing. Lack of information and bad customer service are what made me think twice about going to them. read more

Don't take your vehicle here. I got an oil change and paid for an inspection on my SUV, these idiots told me the SUV (I refer to as her) needed rear breaks and rotors, and as soon as they said this I knew they didn't know their ass from a hole in the ground because I know for a fact she needed front breaks and rotors, on the inspection they only said she needed basic stuff like a tune-up and fluid flush plus filters. I took her to NTB yesterday and she needed ball joints for starters, so bad they were busted and leaking which is plain to see, the rear breaks and rotors are fine but it was the front breaks and rotors that there was almost no pads left on the front and the rotors had hot spots all over both and that was also plain to see then they showed me an oil leak from the filter ad the oil plug so when they looked the firestone idiots did not put the seal in the oil plug and the oil filter was loose. The guy had a problem with me when i got the oil change when i asked about what oil was put in her and asked about the motor mount, I guess because im a woman asking questions because I do know a thing or two about cars. They also put all four tires on my friend's Prius and the very next day we had to put air in the tire after paying $400 for a down payment, which was the price of ordering those tires brand new. I am taking my SUV back to NTB tmrw for them to check and make sure she is not leaking at all. NTB was so great for me even worked with my budget so please yall go to NTB on two notch rd because firestone on Clemson rd aint worth a damn read more

Brought my vehicle in for an alignment! Bc it was pulling to the right! When I left my vehicle was doing the same thing. They Had the technician get in the car with me and he told me just hold tight onto the wheel and not to take my hands off. He also advised that he couldn't not perform, the full alignment due to the specifications for my vehicle as it was not available to their system. I requested a refund for my services and associate advised that I needed to speak with Jake Meyer who had already left for the day. I called the next morning and Jake refused to give me a refund. He advised that his technician did a job and even if it was poor he still had to get paid. I am just looking at reviews for Firestone! And I see I should've never brought my car here in the first place. Reviews are terrible and customer service sucks! I asked for corporate or the district manager's information.. I had my vehicle inspected today and decided to get a wheel alignment. I was told I needed new brake pads and that my battery was basically no good. I mentioned how I had just gotten a new battery a few months ago from Walmart, but okay I'll head over there and have them check it out. Went to Walmart they said it was fine. Now I'm confused. I go look at the paperwork from Firestone and it says battery tested good. So now I just wasted over an out at Walmart for nothing(yes I should've looked at my invoice previously). I go to call Firestone hours later because I realize I never received a copy of my brake assessment/invoice. Was told they could not email it but that I could pick it up. Then I decided to make mention of the gentleman Brandon I believe who told me my battery was bad who I was currently speaking with that the invoice he gave me said it was okay. He was like okay! Then I said I waited at Walmart for over an hour. I got another "OKAY you can pick up your paper tomorrow." COMPLETE DISREGARD!!! When you verbally tell your customer their battery is bad and it is in fact good according to the invoice YOUR establishment provided me, a simple, I'm sorry for the misinformation goes a long ways. Being an adult comes with admitting when you've messed up. Its okay, we all make mistakes...but you failed to do so because apparently you are above that. But common sense isn't always common these days. I won't be coming back here again and judging by his response today to inconveniencing me I'm sure he could care less and trust when I say the feeling is mutual. read more

I had my car serviced at firestone today June 2, 2024. I spoke with Seth and Charlie. Seth allowed me to explain my concerns, he was patient with me, respectable and gave great eye contact, which is IMPORTANT he diagnosed my issues, told me what needed to be done, I authorized the services to be done and BY GOLLY, Seth did an excellent job. I called to ask if I need to make an appt for them to check the tire pressure and was told to just come over. When I did, it was a breeze. Super friendly vibe even at 7.15am; service was quick and easy. No hustle or attitude or them trying to "sell" me something. This is what good customer service is all about. I went to have them fix a tire (screw in it) I asked them to chg oil & rotate tires too. they told me my tires need replacing. (I bought the tires 18 mos ago from Firestone and they have 15k miles on them, rated at 65k) they also said I needed significant steering and suspension work totaling in excess of $4000. I was skeptical. I took the car to 2 other national service centers and 1 local very reputable shop. All disagreed to the extent Firestone suggested, none of them thought any of the work was immediately necessary. Firestones estimates were between 35% and 75% higher than any of the others. I keep the tires rotated and alignment up to date. The car drives well and there are no noises that would indicate imminent failures. They did fix the tire, I think they changed the oil although they failed to update the sticker and they DID NOT rotate the tires. Friendly people, but the quality across the board is lacking! read more

I have been to this location twice in recent years, once for a tire patch and most recently for a tire replacement yesterday. Cody, the manager, was very helpful in finding me another tire same day when I realized I had ordered the wrong one (which surprised me enough as I have very low profile, harder-to-find tires) and getting it mounted and installed quickly and hassle free (while saving me ~$75 in the process). I also felt plenty comfortable leaving my car with them and handling my aftermarket wheels with care throughout the process. Overall great friendly staff who are willing to help on even a busy day. Clean store in a good area, but waiting room seating is fairly limited - you might end up at Krispy Kreme next door under the pretense of needing a place to sit (and... donuts)! read more

My 2014 Silverado needed new brakes on all 4 wheels, and rotors on the front. $625 I think is a little much, but did it anyway. Within a week I can hear rattling and a grinding noise in the brakes. I take it back and they tell me a caliper bolt was stripped on the front passenger side and it's all fixed. A few days go by and I still hear a rattle. I go under the truck myself and find the front driver brakes have a bolt that is so loose it's almost falling off (photo). I go tell them and their excuse was " well there's not much we can do for you other than tell you that we will get our torque wrench recalibrated." This was not a wrench problem, this was lack of competency that could have led to a dangerous situation if I hadn't done my own inspection. I will no longer have my vehicles serviced here. read more

Daughter took her car there to have the battery checked after I told her to go to a parts store like Advanced where they give you a nice printed report after the test. She was told that the battery was bad, called me and I told her to take it to Sams and get a new one because I did NOT want Firestone touching our car. She called me later and told me that they said she would not make it to Sams and that they had already put in a new battery and it would be $145 for the battery and "installation charges" that an auto part store would have done for free. Sleazy tactics to make a few dollars and guarantee that me and my family will never cross their doorstep again. So short sighted from a business standpoint. read more

As backdrop, I have been a loyal customer going on 20 years at this particular location. Over the years, I have spent literally $10,000s of dollars at Firestone. However, they lost a customer today. I have been planning and scheduling an appointmnet to get a set of tires installed on some special rims. I have not been able to take any vacation in literally nine months because of COVID19. Today was my vacation, a total of two hours. My appointment was arranged, discussed, and understood for weeks. I arrived at 1050AM, 10 minutes early being a good, loyal customer. Stood there for 40 mintues while everyone saw me there, even after re-confirming my time is tight, I am on vacation, et cet., when I got there at 1050AM. At 1130AM, the tech (of all people) asked if I was waiting and it was going to be a while. Overall, incomprehensible that I could have endless communications only to have the two folks who operate the front desk act so utterly clueless. I will make sure that the tightknit Mercedes and old car hobbyist in the area know about my experience with the complete auto care folks at Firestone. My mission in life going foward is to make sure I steer as many folks I can away from Firestone. I will figure out tonight who is the CEO of Firestone and I will make sure he or she gets my message as well. Really, really poor. I guess Firestone can blame it on COVID19? read more

There's something to be said for the business that looks out for customer's interests. I can't say that this particular Firestone cares about having repeat customers or seeks to ensure they're not charging them for unnecessary services. Recommend you get a second opinion before accepting this store's recommended work plan. I took my vehicle in for a/c service, explained the problems, but then was surprised when the sales rep claimed to be unaware of the ongoing HVAC service promotion which would halve the cost to me. Luckily, I pulled up their website online to show the coupon. That's something I would expect a reputable business to announce when I come in for a/c work..."hey, great timing on your part as we're having a promotion right now that will save you some bucks". Rather than, "I don't know what you're talking about, show me this coupon you think you saw". When they presented the repair work proposal, I was floored. They wanted to replace just about every component in my dual/front-rear a/c system and charge an inordinate amount of labor. The total bill came to over $2,200 and a wait time of 3 days. Of course, I checked a reputable, local shop with good reviews and they actually diagnosed the problem with my intermittent a/c and only replaced the components that were inoperable and charged far less labor hrs...resulting in the return of our ice cold a/c at a cost of just under $950 with work completed that same afternoon. However, I will say that the Firestone store looked brand new, clean, and was adjacent other businesses to pass the time waiting for them to gouge you on the cost of their services. read more

I ended up getting other services done but it didn't take that long at all. The price was reasonable. I HIGHLY recommend this firestone location over others. read more

These guys were great!! Our truck broke down and we were towed there by Larry the tow truck driver, a very friendly guy. The Firestone team knew we were travelling and immediately started working on our truck allowing our noisy dog to stay in the truck. They put in a new alternator and a new battery, we were very grateful for the friendly service, the great job and the prompt attention. I was in town and driving home when my car struck a broken truck tire in the middle of the road on late Saturday afternoon and was no longer drivable, as it was emitting an ungodly noise. After consulting with 6 stores, I was finally directed to this Firestone. CR stated they could look at my car as soon as I brought my car in. CR was the best customer service rep I'd ever encountered. After being stuck with my son in the car for 1.5 hours, I finally got to the shop at 5:17 pm. In no time did he have my car looked at and he gave me an overview of my car's problem--broken coil in my struts. Unfortunately my car could only be fixed with a dealer's equipment; CR contacted the Hyundai stores that were all closing and not open until Monday. He didn't charge me for the diagnostic and further let me keep my car there without charge until my insurance can come inspect and get it towed to their facility. CR is a true gentleman. I'm ever grateful for true quality service that doesn't take advantage of a woman in need. CR should be unduly rewarded. Thanks again for the expedient and quality service! read more

Twice in a row my car has not been ready the day I dropped it off for an oil change, despite making an appointment several days in advance. The first time the manager apologized and said it was out of the ordinary because they were busy that weekend and had staff from another store working. Well this is the second time it has happened, both times the staff had to ask me my name, phone number and what my car was several times on the phone, as if they couldn't figure out what happened to the car. Both times they said they said they were too busy to get it done. I'm not understanding how that's possible considering I made an online appointment in advance, and on top of that, when you make an online appointment, they have to approve the appointment time. If they were too booked then they should not have approved the appointment. We will absolutely no longer be using this Firestone location. They come off unprofessional and like they don't know what they are doing. Also, both times I had to contact them to figure out if my car was done, they did not let me know it would not be done by the end of the day. read more

I had an appointment on 2 different occasions, however when I arrived I was told by the manager that an appointment is not REALLY an appointment. Greatest service yet since being back in SC from Texas. They did not pressure me in to the most expensive set of tires they have, they did better! Found me a set of Firestone brand tires with a promotion pricing $30 less than online and honored their $100 off deal on top of it! Plus if you have a quote for the same time from another competitor they will honor that too! Called other places and was not confident in their abilities when they didn't even know where the TPMS is located. Regardless of the pricing of other services they provide we will continue to use these guys because they know what they are doing and keep you posted the whole way. I showed up right when they estimated my service would be complete and they were within 5 min of that. Set an appt and then realize how hard these guys work! This should have an option to leave negative starts, they don't even deserve 1. That being said reasons behind my comments and score is I've been there 2xs (shame on me) both were long ,usless,aggravating, and unpleasant. I'm sure the company itself hires people qualified but do these people go to work to make money or to insure all customers are treated fairly and can leave with piece of mind all problems were addressed. I can honestly say that a very small handful care , reasons behind this is I've taken my vehicle there before to get my uv joints greased. After 2 hours they come in say it's ready tell me the total upon also saying and I quote "by the way we could not grease your truck because it did not have the fitting to do so. The charge is for pulling it in to the shop" I can understand that. The same day going to another firestone after asking the dealership about this they DID gease the uv joints and didn't understand why the other had said they couldnt. Strike 1. Another time I picked up a screw in my tire brought it to Clemson rx (shame on me ) after 2 hours they said it could not be fixed it was thru the sidewall and said that I needed a new tire. I took my truck to the other firestone again (TWO NOTCH AND POLO 4STARS)explained to the gentleman I just left this one ect .....he came out to the parking lot checked the screw sprayed the soapy water and wiggled it to see if there was bubbles then pulled the 3/8ths" screw out said there was no leak and I was good to go. This took 3 min and was done as a courtesy to that gentleman and firestone on Polo Rd thank you and you will always have my business. To this one on Clemson I shall never return and would rather drive a mile out of the way home just so I wouldn't have to drive by it. read more

Firestone on Clemson Road, SC. We took our car in to have struts replaced. During the job, Firestone broke the ABS sensor wire so now the ABS light is always on on the dash. We noticed the light and went back in Firestone before leaving the parking lot. Firestone stated the ABS light was on when we dropped off the car and they would not fix it. That is incorrect. The light was not on before dropping it off. Reading about changing struts online, it seems it's common for the ABS sensor wire to get broken when changing the struts. I believe that happened in this case. read more

I have taken my vehicles to Firestone on Clemson for the last three years for routine maintenance. Work has been OK but a little spotty. Let them tackle new spark plugs on Cadillac Escalade a while back. Ran horrible after work. Found out they reconnected wires incorrectly and left one disconnected completely after $600 more at Jim Hudson Cadillac. Yesterday gave them second chance. New brake pads on 2013 Toyota Tacoma, common vehicle, simple job. Left car at 8:15 am. Got call at 1:15 pm wanted to sell me brake fluid flush, hadn't even started work? Went buy at 3:30 pm after no update call, saw truck on lift, front end axle opened up asked what the hell? manager said technician was having trouble accessing rear drum brakes?? Didn't explain why front brakes were all in pieces hanging. Went ahead and paid for service told them to leave keys in undisclosed location would pick up later. Got no call, went by later that evening to pick up truck. Truck still up on lift, brakes wide open, hood up !! Found out next morning, they "say" they ordered wrong parts...for a 2013 Toyota Tacoma... come on??! Previous shift manager knew us and always accommodated us. New mangers don't have it, not firing on all cylinders. Two strikes, I'm out. It's a shame because they are so convenient. read more

I visited the Firestone on Clemson road in Columbia, SC today at 6:30 pm because I ran over a very large screw and my tire was going flat. I asked if I could have my tire plugged and I was told "no" because they have to close at 7 p.m. I explained that all other shops in the area were already closed and asked if there was anything at all they could do to assist me because the tire was going flat...needless to say, I was told "no" and they continued on with what they were doing. I am a female and I felt very unsafe driving my car in that shape...I had money to pay for whatever they could have done to prevent me from being stranded, but no care at all was given...no one even offered to take a look at the tire. It is very disheartening to know that a customer's safety means nothing, even with 30 minutes left on the clock. Thanks for changing my mind about Firestone...I honestly thought your company really cared about your customers. read more
