My wife's minivan had a cut wire in her car and the dealership quoted us $3000 to take apart the car and put in a new wiring harness. Coit Auto Center located the damaged wire and repaired it. Cost - $300. One time I had new brakes installed on my car. I was concerned that the brakes weren't working correctly. One of the mechanics test drove my car and explained that the brakes had to wear in before I would function normally. They checked out the brakes for me and I didn't even buy the brakes from them. I followed up again on June 18, June 22, June 29, and July 7. It has now been 9 weeks and 2 days--more than two months--and Firestone management still has not contacted me. That is five separate attempts to have my concerns acknowledged, with no meaningful response, explanation, or effort to resolve the problem. The original poor service was frustrating, but management's continued failure to respond has made the experience even worse. This complete lack of follow-through, accountability, and customer care is unacceptable. Based on both the original service and how my complaint has been handled, I cannot recommend this Firestone location.

They kept my car for two days and charged me $200 just to "run tests." After that, they told me I needed a start sensor, new spark plugs, and an engine carbon cleaning -- with a total estimate of over $1,300. I specifically asked them to tell me only what was necessary to get my car running properly. Their response was, "We can leave the spark plugs and it will still be $800 for the sensor and carbon cleaning." At that point, I felt extremely uncomfortable and pressured, and it seemed like I was being overcharged. I decided to get a second opinion from Elite Exhaust & Brake in Plano, and the difference was shocking. They quickly diagnosed the issue and fixed the problem by replacing the start sensor for $280 -- that's it. No upselling, no unnecessary work. When I returned to pick up my vehicle, I was told the bill had increased to $645 without my knowledge or approval. Because I needed my vehicle to get to work, I had no choice but to pay the additional amount to have it released. I later contacted the shop to request a refund of the unauthorized charges, but my concerns were dismissed, and I was treated disrespectfully throughout the process. I believe customers should be notified and asked for approval before repair costs exceed the agreed amount. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business.
