BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!!! fast forward 2 months & while doing a tire rotation at home i noticed a deep groove in one of the front rotors. i took it back to elk grove tire & wheel & their best guess was that something from the road got stuck in between the pad & the rotor. even though it was of no fault to them or their shop -- they replaced both sets of pads & rotors again since a deep groove in a rotor that's only 2 months old isn't something they want their customers to have to deal with. i won't bring my vehicles anywhere else but here for anything wheel/tire related from here on out. i'm blown away and grateful. thank guys for standing behind your work!! that goes such a long way!!

It was great that they did so since my rear passenger tire had a small screw in it. Parking is easy to find in their large parking lot. There's plentiful seating in their lobby and if you're hungry or thirsty, there's several neighboring places you can quickly grab something from. The lobby and restrooms were clean and well maintained. The employees worked efficiently, hard, and safely. Everyone was polite and professional. I was very happy that both were repairable and it was a pleasant bonus and surprise that they fixed everything in a very timely fashion. I'll definitely consider them when I'm in the market for tires since their prices seem to be pretty competitive. Free flat repair includes tire patching if it is in a repairable area. Tires eligible for repair must be less than 10 years old, no dry rot/cracks, and meet their minimum tread depth requirement. If the tire is leaking from the valve stem they will also replace it. Free wheel balancing is also included. Tires can be ordered from tirerack.com, shipped to this location, and installed. They do not have a installation deadline which is convenient and relies on the customer to schedule an available time. When I ordered tires it took me a month before I had time to have them installed. There were no issues with them storing them for longer until I had time to come in. There is an area in front of the roll up doors where free pressurized air is provided to ensure tires are the appropriate PSI. I've relied on this location many times for free flat repairs. On a recent visit for a free flat repair for my trailer, the associate was friendly, and fast. She replaced the valve stem in less than 5 minutes!

As fate would have it, I took the car to the dealership for a recall and they discovered that one of the tires had a small bubble. I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to celebrate almost two years with the car by treating her to some new tires. I reached out to Chris who quoted me $1,200 (including manufacture warranty) for four thick profiled performance tires, which was $1,300 cheaper than the quote that I received from the dealer. Chris quickly placed the order for the tires and called me the next day to inform me that they had arrived. Since the establishment is generally very busy on the weekends, I decided to visit on a weekday in hopes for a quicker experience. Thankfully, there was only one car ahead of me when I arrived. Chris instructed me to pull the car into the shop and immediately began removing the tires (I'm always impressed by a hands-on owner). Less than 30 minutes later, the job was done and I was in the office checking out. As Chris implied, I can confirm that the ride quality of my car has significantly improved. I have been a customer for seven years and have referred many friends and family to the shop. I paid nearly $800 for brake work in March, and the brakes continued squeaking afterward. I brought the car back in August, allowed them to clean, lubricate, and "de-squeak" the brakes, and the noise returned almost immediately. I also have multiple dated videos documenting the problem. When I returned again, Chris was dismissive and argumentative when I asked what would happen if they could not reproduce an intermittent noise during the visit. I repeatedly asked how many times I might have to keep bringing the car back before another warranty remedy was considered. His response was essentially that they have to reproduce and isolate the noise to know what to fix. He never gave me a clear answer about what happens if the noise cannot be reproduced on demand. I also asked Chris for contact information for someone above him in case the issue remained unresolved, and he did not provide it. I later called the store and Desire immediately gave me the information and was very kind and empathetic. Zach was also professional, helpful, and understanding throughout the process. The communication later that day was also poor. Chris called me around 2:39 p.m. only to say that my car was next in the queue to be looked at. I received no further update about what they found, what they decided to repair, or when my car would be ready. As closing time approached, I had to call the store myself just to find out what was happening. That was when I learned from Zach that the front brake pads were being replaced. At pickup, Chris explained that they had not been able to reproduce the noise, but he decided to replace the front pads based partly on the video I showed him. This was confusing because earlier that same morning he had told me he could not determine where the noise was coming from based on the video and that they would have to reproduce it to isolate the problem. I also addressed the lack of communication, and Chris said I should have received a call from other employees, even though I had been told that the decisions regarding my vehicle were going through him. My complaint is specifically about Chris and how he handled the situation, not the entire staff. Desire and Zach were both kind, professional, and helpful. I understand that a shop needs to diagnose a mechanical problem before deciding what to replace. What I do not accept is poor communication, unanswered questions, and being left without a clear explanation of what happens if an intermittent warranty problem continues. A General Manager should be able to clearly explain the process, communicate repair decisions, provide escalation information when requested, and treat a customer respectfully.
