This morning, I was backing up in a hurry and accidentally broke the driver's side mirror off of my car. I went over here expecting to leave my car for the day while it was being fixed. To my surprise, everyone here was incredibly helpful, kind, and honest. They stopped what they were doing and fixed my mirror in about 20 minutes, and did not charge me a dime! Went for a 90,000 mile checkup & although they were quick to do the maintenance, they seem to use premium fluids and parts (e.g., full synthetic oil & transmission fluid, Bosch wiper blades) without giving you the option of picking something cheaper. Also, they charged about 10-20% more than PepBoys wanted. OK for convenience but otherwise overkill. read more

I have been a firestone customer for about 2 years. The employees at this location are really cool, but I think it's Firestone's overall company policy to rip people off. My recommendation to people is to find an honest mechanic in your local area. Every time I came to this place for an oil change they would tell me that something needed to be fixed and I would end up spending more money than I really needed to. My husband had a flat tire today so took the car to our local Encino Firestone Store. He arrived at 3:45pm and sat there until almost 7:00pm before anyone would even look at his car. He was then told that they wouldn't repair it because it was too close to the sidewall of the car when in fact the nail was in the tread and not the side wall. All they wanted to do was sell him a new tire. They had to inflate the damaged tire so he could even get back home and now has to start all over tomorrow. Leaving upset and unsatisfied doesn't come close and he does not recommend anyone doing business there. Did I mention my husband is handicapped and it's Valentine's Day! read more

This crew gets the job done! One of my favorite qualities is that they are open on a Sunday. They don't push me and I feel like I am taken care of, which I feel a car is a huge investment so I want to know my car is in good hands. I don't know much about cars, but they can help explain or show things to me and don't make me feel stupid. They get to the point and keep things simple! My mom came into town and we were at the Balboa soccer fields watching my nephew soccer games when we had a break in between one of them.. she remembered that my brake light was on so she insisted that we call a place nearby and get my brakes done right away.. I usually buy my parts and bring it to mechanics cuz most of them charge an arm and a leg.. I haven't been to Firestone in a good minute but by faith I called them and asked their price for brakes and what they repeated was appropriate based on the job to be done, so there we went. This is a really modern shop. The guys are friendly and the waiting room actually has a nice TV. They also offer coffee. I accidentally broke their coffee machine while I was trying to adjust volume on TV, sorry guys. This shop can apparently handle any problem from tires to electrical. I will be taking my car her for all my auto repair and maintenance needs. I believe their prices are lower than the dealer but be aware they add options without telling you. Like when you buy tires they automatically some time type of warranty on the tire if you get a flat but you don't have to buy it. So Caveat emptor, pronounced /kævi.t mptr/, is Latin for "Let the buyer beware". But you know what, I expect that from these types of places and as these types of places go this one is all right in my book. read more

I've been going to firestone for the last couple of years since I live 2 blocks away. First of all everyone there is super friendly. I usually get assisted by Levon or Moe, both who are helpful and let me know what else needs to be fixed on my car since I know absolutely nothing about cars. They always do a good job on my car whether it be oil change, filter change, or my tires. Also, last time I came in Moe did a quick inspection on my tires because I thought something was wrong with them and he didn't charge me anything. Definitely sticking to this location because everyone is so helpful. Ohhh, and a quick tip, you may want to make an appointment in advance because they are busssssyyyyy. I attempted to purchase two front tires for my car. I was told I'd also needed an alignment. They didn't have two matching tires of anything at a reasonable price so they said they could order me a set from another store and they would be done in 2 1/2 hours. No one called me to say there was a problem, but when I showed up 2 1/2 hours later I was told the other store still hadn't delivered the correct tires. Frustrated, I told them to put the old tires back on, but then I mentioned if they really cared about customer service they would give me whatever set they had that were the next best higher in quality and sell them to me for the price we'd agreed on earlier. The salesman agreed. From the time we made the agreement until the time they told me my car was ready took 15 minutes. That included the time to locate the tires, balance them, install them and (theoretically) do an alignment. By the time they handed me the keys they'd already shut half the bay doors, clearly they wanted to leave. When I got home I researched how long an alignment should take- every resource said 40 minutes to an hour. Clearly they had charged me for an alignment without doing it. I filled out the customer satisfaction survey detailing my BAD experience. The following morning I received a call from the manager who said he had read my survey, and asked what he could do to make things right. He offered to refund my money for the alignment and do one while I waited. I appreciate the effort the manager made and do not hold him at fault, since the previous day was his day off. But it is concerning that an employee thinks it's okay to try to get away with something like that when the manager isn't present. And it shouldn't have been up to me to tell the salesman how to treat a customer, it should have been standard policy. read more

I brought my wife's car to Firestone for A/C repairs to her Hyundai Santa Fe, they called me a couple hours later telling me the the cost was $1,934.55! I was a little shocked and asked him the cost of Parts and labor, he said it would be $1,036.95 for parts and $897.60 for labor. I found the all the correct parts for sale for at a total of $142.00!!! I told them that that was too much and I will pick it up, After I paid for the A/C service charge for diagnosis's, I asked him why the changes are so high for the parts as I found them for much less?! He said "yep, now you have to find someone to do the work"! That is an unacceptable price and they are gouging for parts to make a profit!! :( I don't think I will be going back to Firestone with price gouging like that! read more

I had such a good experience with this location. They fixed my brake pads, resurfaced my Roters, dusted the back brakes, and changed the fluid all for around $300! Then even let me use a coupon for $50 off! Super quick, great service. I even notices my emergency brake wouldn't stay in place and they fixed it for me the next day, free of charge. read more

Over the decades I've become suspicious and skeptical in general, and especially of tire places, where they always want to frighten you into buying a full set of tires, plus brakes and other essentials. This place doesn't do that. (Hope I'm not getting them in trouble with Corporate!!) Alex, Josh and Ali are the main guys I've dealt with (for four cars, now) at the front desk and they are friendly, knowledgeable and NOT trying to bullshit me. The technicians are also nice, communicative and efficient. This place is an oasis of honesty and good service in a world gone to hell (at least when it comes to getting your car fixed). Highly recommend. If you get a Firestone credit account, you just breeze through with very little paperwork and pay it off at the end of the month online. read more

Everyone should expect a stressful day after one's tire pops, you need a tow, and now have to deal with a mechanic. These guys made my day. They were honest and genuine about the problem at hand and took care of it. It did take about an hour 1/2 to change the tire- but they were apologetic and considerate of my happiness while I waited. They did what they could with the Sunday rush. Tire prices are fair- they don't push for you to spend more. They give you options and recommendations-which is how mechanics should be. Sean is friendly, reliable, and treats me with respect. He knows my knowledge of car mechanics is limited, but always takes time to answer my questions and explain things in a way I can understand, so that my decisions are better informed, rather than swayed. I appreciate the care my car and I have gotten from Sean and the rest of the staff at Firestone Encino, and I will absolutely continue to have my car serviced there. read more

I had a terrible experience here, and I'm never going back! I went in for some routine suspension maintenance, or at least it should have been routine. They *repeatedly* ordered the wrong parts, or waited until the last minute to work on my car, and it had to stay overnight, twice! When I finally got it, it was covered in bird crap, filthy and greasy inside and out, and had scuffs on the paint! I took the time to thoroughly clean my car, when I noticed a horrible sound that hadn't been there before. I took it back, and it turns out they'd installed the wrong part! I waited patiently while they kept trying to fix it, then kept telling me it was fixed (even though it wasn't, so I had to make them do it again and again). This took over an hour. Then I took it on the freeway and noticed the ride was *much* rougher than before. I took it back to them, they worked on it, they promised it was fixed, but it wasn't. I had to take it back to them a *third* time (after the original two days it was there), when finally the manager gave it his personal attention. Later that day, he said it was fixed, but I can still feel the roughness, and it's slowly getting worse. It *really* ruins the driving experience when your car is jerking left and right on the freeway, and feels like it's going to fly apart, especially when it was smooth as glass before! Of course this cost me nearly a thousand dollars (they convinced me to replace some other stuff, too), my car was there for two days, then back three times after that, and it still isn't right. I'm going to have to take it to the dealer, which will cost hundreds on top of what I've already spent. The manager Hyke was very friendly and seems like a good guy, but the people who work there are morons and sometimes very rude. Emelia, the receptionist, is such an idiot I'm surprised she found work anywhere, and it seems like Josh Demuro is the only competent person working there. Two thumbs down!! Oh, and two other things: They *repeatedly* gave me optimistic time estimates, telling me my car was next in line, etc., then were consistently late, by about two or three hours each time. They didn't even bother with a call to tell me it would be late. And second, the manager gave me a coupon for a free oil change at his location, which is friendly, but completely useless! There's absolutely no way I'd take my car back to those s*** for brains morons, especially after they all know me as the "Goldilocks" customer who kept bringing his car back and complaining! They got some messed up people working here at Firestone, got me all messed up. Brought my car to them after my car would t start about a block away. After I get my car in there after asking for a jump start from a random guy, they tell me I should leave the car overnight bc they are "busy". The following day, I called them to check up on my car and the dude tells me I need a new radiator, new battery, and about 10 other things adding up to a sum of about $1,500 because my car wouldn't start. It sounded fishy bc after calling him back, he was telling me they couldn't jump start it (after I just jumped it the day before with no problem. I told him to not worry about the alternator or battery and he says "we can't do anything, not even the Tires until you pay for the alternator and battery" when I know for a fact my battery was working just fine. After I go up there to take a look for myself, the car is in the air with the tires off, when they told me they couldn't do anything since I didn't fix the alternator and battery, but I told them to take it down so I could try to jump it myself. And the manager comes out of the bathroom saying "you won't be able to jump the car, it will break down after you drive it down the street, blah blah" I said it's fine, "I'll try to jump it myself since you guys obviously are just trying to get money out of your customers ". After they get it down, my car started up WITHOUT A JUMP START no problems?! This is all after the employee and the manager both told me it wouldn't start and would be undriveable unless I payed the $700 for the alternator and battery! After I took the car to another shop (Rene's Automotive) which I recommend to everyone, he checked the battery and alternator which both turned out to be perfectly fine!! Do not trust these guys! I went in for a scheduled appointment for a tire rotation. It took over 2.5 hours. What is the point of scheduling an appointment one week in advance if it still takes 2.5 hours. Also, they recommended that I needed an oil change. What they didnt realize is that I got one a week before somewhere else. Technician responded, "Oh." Super sketchy. A year ago I replaced all 4 tires on my car and purchased lifetime alignment. This week, due to unusual tread wear on one side I had to have 2 of tires replaced. Since I had lifetime alignment here at Firestone, I came back to have them align my tires. I dropped off my car around 2 pm today and I was told it would take 2 to 2.5 hours. At 5:30 pm I called to check to see if my car is ready. They said it was done and asked how long before I would arrive. I replied "10 min." I showed up and noticed how short handed they seemed. After a 15 minute wait, someone came to the waiting room. I asked for a report (printout) of the alignment specs before and after alignment. I explained to him that I was advised to check the specs to make sure that it's done according to manufacturer's recommendations. He replied that he could not give me an alignment report because the printer on the alignment device wasn't working properly, but he offered to put the car back on the platform and provide the measurements on the vehicle, if I was willing to wait. I agreed, and a little while later, while the vehicle was on the platform, he tells me that the specs were off because the first technician did not align the vehicle properly to the manufacturer's recommendations. They would have re-aligned the tires. And after the procedure was finished, for some reason, this time he was able to print a report. It makes me wonder if they actually did the alignment in the first place! Either way, it's upsetting because I almost drove off with the wrong alignment, which would shorten the life of my new tires. If you choose to align your tires here be sure to get an spec report!! The techs are always courteous hence the 2 star rating. read more

I have been coming to this Firestone location for the last 17 years with our 3 cars. I am not sure what has happened this last year, but I no longer trust this business. My air conditioning was not working and Firestone told me that I needed 3 new parts that totaled almost $2,000. I took it elsewhere for an estimate and got the work done there for $400 (the hose only). When I went in to Firestone to tell Levon (the manager) about this, he said they had to "cover themselves" and replace all 3 parts so I wouldn't come back and accuse them of not doing the job. How sad that they put their business needs in front of the customers. Also, they always send you home with a giant laundry list of what they suggest your car needs - all unnecessary work! read more
