Got a late appointment but they took me in. Needed new rear tires for a trip I took the next day. All seemed okay after the installation, but the next day when I drove to Mammoth the vibration from the rear tires at 75 and up was severe. Had to drive 73 or lower. Upon examination I noticed that the tires were installed incorrectly: the color dot on the tire was in the wrong position (they indicate the position of the valve stem in relation to the tire which has impact on balance) in addition, the valve stems were replaced with very long stems (twice the length of the originals) and the tires have a significant number of tape weights, all of which points to a balance problems. I called the manager after the trip, informed him of the issue and asked if the techs were aware of the proper placement of the dot to reduce balance issues, he didn't seem aware. It's puzzling that a tire manufacturer such as Firestone seems not to know how to install there own tires in the correct manner. Came in to have my tires checked and discovered they needed to be replaced. They were under the warenteed mileage, so Levon (store manager) gave me a prorated discount . Firestone no longer carried Falcon Tires I had on my car, so I was offered Bridgestones (A far better tire) at a much better price. I had a nail in my tire which could have been patched, but I was told it wasn't repairable. They tried to sell me a new tire for $260. I took that same damaged tire to Tires By Mark on Topanga and had it repair/patched for FREE!! Where as Firestone wanted $40. They told me the hole in the tire was in a place where it was able to be patched. It was dead center of the tire, with lots of tread left. I really felt like I was lied too and scammed. It is so difficult to find a great repair and automotive service shop that isn't trying to sell you unneeded services. The Encino Firestone, and especially Will, the Assistant Manager, is such a place. I have been there twice now and both times I thought I needed more work done to fix my issues and both times they correctly diagnosed the problem and did less work saving me serious money! I'm shocked at all the good reviews... they must all be friends and relatives of those who work there! HAHAHA ;) I actually rate them ZERO STARS!!! Back in the days they had a Service Manager named Alex, but after he left so did their good service and honesty! Their service is now horrible, you have to wait hours just for an oil change and tire rotation, and every time you go they find something new that's wrong regardless how many years you've been going there. I swear once I opened a Firestone Credit Account, my car problems got worse and so did my debt! I finally stopped going there once they gave me a $500 quote to replace my oil pan... they said the plug was stripped and it should be replaced asap. I found that HILARIOUS CONSIDERING THEY WERE THE ONLY PLACE I BROUGHT MY CAR FOR OIL CHANGES AND SERVICE! Also, they insisted I replace the Oil Pan ASAP, yet 2 years later and still no problems... just less car problems since I stopped going there! read more

This was just a horrible experience for me. I am 7 months pregnant and on my way to a doctors appt when my low pressure light comes on. When I get to the doctors I see I have run over a nail. After my appointment, I felt so lucky because right across the street is Firestone. I walked in and they took my car right away saying it should be patched in an hour. 30 minutes go by and I see them drive my car in and lift it up. Another 45 minutes go by and someone comes in to tell me they cannot patch the tire because its on the side not the tread. Now I know I do not do this for a living, but my father did teach me to change my tire and the parts of the tire. I knew it was in the tread of the tire, but they were insistent that I had to get a new tire! I told them No Thank you and took my car immediately somewhere else where in less than 20 minutes they had the tired patched (because it was in the tread) and I was out of there for $25. read more

Poor service. Had an appointment at 1. When arrived, was told 2 mechanics had just gone to lunch and it would be an hour and a half wait. WE HAD AN APPOINTMENT! Told the salesman "Arden" the car was a lease being returned in a few months and that we didn't want to spend a lot on a new tire. This didn't stop him from trying to sell us a more expensive tire even while showing us what tires were available and on sale, etc..... When pointing to the tire that was 60.00 and asking "is this a decent tire?" He says "of course." We just explained to you that we didn't want an expensive tire! Why are you still trying to sell us a 120 dollar tire? Stop trying to make a buck and just meet your customers needs. We aren't trying to nickel and dime you or even attempting to get the price down. This in addition to having a pre existing appointment that was essentially disregarded, prompted us to find a different tire place. Subsequently went to "Big O tire" right down the street. They sold us a used tire with lots of tread for 40 bucks even. Just what we needed considering the car is being returned to the dealership soon. We were also on our way out with a new tire within 30 minutes of leaving firestone in search of a new place. Would never return to Firestone tires again. read more

Will is the best! I went there because of an ongoing issue with my car that has yet to be fixed after going to multiple repair shops. They originally replaced a part for me after deciding it was the issue during a diagnostic i purchased. Unfortunately on the drive home the car showed the check engine light again, meaning they didn't find the issue in the diagnostic. I brought my car back and spoke to Will (the closing manager) and he took the initiative to fix the situation by finding the issue in my car and taking care of it for me. I really appreciate what he and the rest of the crew did. Thanks guys!!!! read more

I spent about $1,100 on repairs. The car they worked on had a lot of miles on it and ended up breaking down a few days after taking it in. I had to get a new car and expressed my unhappiness to Firestone about spending that kind of money on their repairs I didn't end up needing. They refunded part of my bill and I can't thank them enough. The breakdown was very costly (with tows, rental car, missed day at work) and this partial refund really relieved some of the financial strain. Thank you. read more

I had a flat tire and they told me it would cost from $45 to $50 to put a plug in the tire. The only reason I came here is that it is near my office and it was 6:00 on a week night. So, I went to a local gas station and filled up the tire with free air and then the next morning went to America's Tire and they fixed the tire for free. They are very friendly and have a nice and clean waiting room. They also have the best prices for tires if you need tires. They have several locations, so you can look them up on line to find the closest. I will never go to Firestone again. They certainly try to rip you off on repairing a flat tire where even most gas stations normally only charge $10-$15 to fix. America's tire I guess can do this as a courtesy so you come back to them when you need tires. Call America's Tires before dealing with Firestone. read more

Staff is great. I've taken my 97 Wrangler in for several things. I did have a problem after they flushed my automatic transmission. After picking it up and parking overnight I came out and saw it was still leaking. Called Firestone and they stepped up and fixed it a second time free of charge. The people are extremely nice, I came across Emelia and Mo at Firestone and needless to say how polite and cooperative they were. They are professionals, with vast knowledge of automobiles. I brought the car there on Sunday afternoon and the service advisor (Emelia I think) was very fast and friendly. She said the car would be ready by 5 and the car actually was ready at 5. Picking up the car was fast and easy, and the price was okay, and what I liked about it was the schedule was very accurate so I could do other stuff while the car was being worked on. That and they had fast service at drop off and picking up the car. I would go there again for tires or car service. read more
