I have trouble with this dealers. After changing 4 (70,000 mile) tires on my car and traveling to San Francisco, a short 3 weeks ago, I lost my wheel well cover from my right front side in the middle of FWY 5 (N.) Multiple hoses, and wires were rubbing against the wheel when I exited out of the Fwy. Additionally, the tire balance on the same side front was off, causing a lot of vibrations. The noise that began shortly after, from the (Left) front tire was also from rubbing of tire against the wheel well cover. I have not lost the (Left) front wheel well cover, but now there is a big gaping whole in the plastic cover from rubbing against the tire. Upon returning to the Firestone Tire Shop, they only rotated my tires, did not comment on the tire damage that had transpired on my wheel wells covers, and said I should change my air filter (dirty) and change my battery. They did not rebalance my (Right Front) vibrating tire, just moved it back, it still shakes, but now its is in the rear. The front (LEFT) tire has a bubble that is very dangerous for my driving to San Francisco back and forth every other week. I am an Uber/ Lyft driver. I depend on my tires and good service. This is something that I will complain about in all review websites. There is a Fiduciary Responsibility that Firestone must take, and the this dealer must be reprimanded for trying to fix things I don't need. My air filter is hospital white clean. The freeway accident could have injured many other drivers behind me. Additionally, I must go back to work as a driver back to SF, and every day stalled is income lost. Please heed my issues with urgency, or I must take you to court. Let's keep it on amicable terms with good customer service. If I could give no stars I would I brought my car to get an oil change and also asked if they could rotate tires. When I got there to pick up the car they said they had rotated the tires.. LIARS I knew they didn't because my tires had some Marks from hitting the curb on the right side and the Marks were still there. He said I first had to go inside and ask the guy because they needed permission to "touch" my car. (You know something must've gone down). All thumbs down. Don't shop here unless you want to be lied to and ripped off. They are up-selling a lot. I got a flat tire. I was told to make an appointment to come in for repair. Now their line of BS is that if your tire is over 4 years old you must buy a new one. I had my mechanic look at it as well as my brother in law who runs a brand name car dealership. I drive very little, so my 2 front tires have another 15,000 miles on it since the tire had a long warranty. They thought I would be stupid and tried to show me where the tire is worn, but again after checking it they were wrong. They are trying to push you to buy tires, which never happened before. they also said they could not do my tire rotation, I have their policy, if the tire was more than 4 years old. They are trying to stick me with a purchase that is not necessary. read more

Terrible! These people quoted me almost 3 times what it should be!!! Over $2,000 for brakes & rotors on a Toyota!!! Woahhhh talk about highway robbery! I had to make sure my car was still a Toyota and not secretly a Rolls Royce! The customer service was good, the kid was a nice kid besides the insane quote lol. Brought the printout they gave me and got the entire job done for under $700 at Encino Tire on Ventura right down the road. Firestones total recommendation of repairs came to almost $8,000 hahaha! The car is worth $6,000! If there was an apocalypse and I had a flat tire, and let's say this is the only place that could repair my tire, and I need to leave as fast as possible because the crazy virus would get me, I'd drive right by this place spraying sparks from riding on rims. And then I'd happily die from the virus knowing I didn't give these schmucks my money! read more

WORST customer experience of my life. I bought some tires from Tirerack.com. Tirerack recommended Firestone to install them and delivered the tires to my local Firestone Store. I made a confirmed appointment online through the Firestone website for 11am Saturday March 19, 2022. I chose the option in the appointment process that I would wait for the work to be completed. I arrived on time and was immediately told by the person on duty that I would have to leave the car until the end of the day. When I pointed out that I had an appointment (for which I was sent several reminder emails from Firestone) I was told that an appointment only assured that my tires would be installed that day, not at any particular time. When I questioned the point of even having an appointment for a specific time, I was told that I didn't make the appointment with the store so they weren't obligated to honor it. When I pointed out that I made the appointment with Firestone and this was a Firestone store, he pointed to the Bridgestone logo on his shirt. When I told him Firestone owns Bridgestone and its the same company, he made the correct, but inane comment that Bridgestone owns Firestone, entirely missing the point. I finally told him that I had no choice so I would leave the car as he asked, Now comes the good part: He looked at my car and when he saw it was an Alpha Romeo Gulia, said it was a low profile tire and since they were not a "performance shop" they didn't have the equipment to install the tires. Putting aside that all of this information was known when I made the appointment, he was obviously lying or completely incompetent. Frankly I think Firestone does the Tirerack installations as a loss leader for other services and when he discovered that was not going to happen with me, he decided to send me on my way. I put the tires in my car, drove to my local independent shop and had the tires installed in about 30 minutes, with no "performance" issues. That same day I received a survey from Bridgestone asking me about my experience. To add insult to injury, when I went to complete the survey today, 3 days later, I got a message it had expired. I will never set foot in a Firestone store again. read more

When I got there Dan was on the phone with a customer and you could tell by the conversation I could here the customer he was very impatient with her. That should have been a sign to leave. When it was my turn I told him I had a nail in my tire he had an employee look at it they put air in the tire and then they saw the nail. Dan told me it would be a two hour wait and that I needed a new tire he used a device to measure the tread left in the tire. I was just at the Toyota dealership a week ago and they rotated my tires and never said anything about needing a new tire. I have 15000 miles on the car. I felt like Dan was trying to make a sale instead of just giving me excellent customer service by repairing the tire. read more

Firestone in Downey placed a fuel pump and after a week got the dreaded check engine light. I had gone to the Downey Firestone and it turns out their diagnostic person who handles looking and deciphering the check engine codes was out til mid July. I thought to myself what does the car repair do when someone comes in with an undiagnosed issue? Anyways I was told to just keep driving it until mid July when the guy comes back from vacation. What luck. I was stranded 40 miles from home in Encino on Sunday. 110 degrees and I have 2 of my kids. What a nightmare. It was 4pm with the shop about to close so had to take a Uber all the way home. 50 bucks. I took the bus Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday and Friday and got my car back Saturday. All the while I suspected the fuel pump. I was even told on Tuesday that they would replace the fuel pump. Wednesday it was somehow decided that it must be some other issue. Fast forward to Friday afternoon and it turns out I was right. Damn. 5 days on the bus. Could have been a lot shorter had the pump been checked first. I don't blame them since they were VERY courteous on the phone and insisted they would not stop until the car was fixed. Good work. The manager even told me that the pump looked like it had been in my car for a long time which to me meant that it looked used. Maybe I'm wrong but that's what I got out of it. I'm hoping the Downey Firestone isn't ripping off people and if you look at my reviews I have given them 5 star reviews. I'm feeling very hesitant on taking my car in for servicing now. The owner here, Danny, is running a racket! I had a problem with my car that another Firestone caused in another part of town. The owner there said he could not fix it, but Firestone in Encino could and they are obligated to because of the "Firestone guarantee". I took my car there and Danny refused to service it. The other manager had to call him and yell at him to get him to do it. The other Firestone manager said Danny is a complete a-hole. Danny told me he could fix it, but most likely just by taking a single tire off, it would break the frame and I would have to pay $500 to have it fixed on the spot, because then they would not allow me to drive. I talked to the other manager who said Danny was lying to me, and basically, just trying to either not do the work or hold my car hostage for $500 if he did do the work. He said it was completely unethical. I decided to leave. I also took a half a day off a work to have this fixed, so lost a half a day of pay. Thanks Danny! :) read more

Good service. However, the parking lot in the back of the store and behind the brick wall that is still part of private property is littered with garbage, mostly left by homeless. We stopped in Encino to get a drink so I checked the left frpnt suspension and noticed that a bolt was hanging half-way out. I have been going here for years for tires for numerous cars from Jeeps Wranglers to Maserati GTs spending 4-5K per year and always felt that they did an adequate job. That is until my visit today where I felt the manager/ sales d*bag was just looking to make a quick buck from what he believed was an "easy target" with an expensive supercar. The problem I went for was pretty standard. I have been experiencing air loss through a slow leak in one of my tires that has less than 3k miles on it. I first thought it was Covid Qurantine but after it reoccurred I though I would have them pull the tire to discover if there was a pinhole or small nail causing the issue. After the d*bag service/sales guy came outside, he ran his hand around the tire and said "I don't see a nail or anything ...unless it's underneath- so all I can do is replace it". When I questioned him about putting my car on the lift or pulling the tire for further inspection- he dismissed it as being unreasonable and suggested that "the damage is probably because of your poor parallel parking" and reiterated that replacement was the only option. BTW- he was full of Sh%t- though there is a small scrape on the hub the tire is not leaking from it (i tested with soapy water). His condescending and slimy sales play was made worse by the flippant attitude he exhibited when I challenged him. He just walked away and said "don't argue with me". Needless to say, I will not be going back. It appears this is just another scam car repair that preys on fear of the ignorant and those that have no other choice. read more

Drove in to fix a flat on a Sunday needed some help. The parking lots empty and the guy tells me to park in the back. So I park in the back. Walk in and tell the guy I am driving on a flat YOUR TIRES I BOUGHT HERE he says, not today we are very busy. The place has 6 lifts with one car up and all bays empty. After having done business with this overpriced place for 10+years PURCHASED TIRES FOR NUMEROUS CARS here every year this is the service I get. I get told they are "to busy" the bay is empty . I called from my cell while I am still in 6he parking lot and ask if they had time to do 4 new tires on a BMW same guy answers and says no problem ... good job on loosing a customer. read more

I got Scammed... I spent like 1500 dollars for tires and brake job... When I asked around after, EVERY MECHANIC I know shook their heads and said: "Man you should have asked around..." The mechanic kept the car for some time and then called me up and told me that they were out and that I needed the more expensive tires and who knows why the hell my brake job cost this much...But after waiting 4-5 hours I was tired and wasn't thinking straight. I originally took my car to Pep Boys on Sepulveda for brake service and they told me I needed to replace my front brake discs and rotors, as well as my rear drum brake shoes. They were gonna charge around $550. That didn't sound right to me, so I looked back at my records and realized I had my front pads replaced not too long ago. So I took my car to Firestone in Encino for a free inspection. I didn't tell them about my experience at Pep Boys or my knowledge that the pads were relatively new. Firestone was honest. They said the rear drum shoes needed replacing and the rotors could be resurfaced to stop the shaking of the steering wheel when I applied the brakes at high speeds. With coupons that were in effect at the time, combined with Firestone's honesty, I saved about $250. Thank you Firestone for your honesty and great service. I will be a repeat customer. read more

My service light went on for an oil change and I totally forgot about it for a few weeks. I panicked one morning and decided to do it ASAP. I was planning to go to Jiffy Lube, as I had a coupon for a better deal and they wash your windows, too. However, since I work very close to Firestone, I gave them a call. Ali told me he couldn't get me in until after 3. When I told him I worked nearby and was off at 1:30, he said to come in and he'd take care of me. I showed up at 1:42 and was out in less than an hour. When I thanked Ali and told him I almost went to Jiffy Lube, he matched their price for me. I will definitely be returning here. read more

Not your classic mechanic scumbags since your dealing with a chain. Instead your stuck with people who don't know what they are doing and wont take responsibility for not knowing what they are doing. They misdiagnosed the problem with my car, made me pay for repair parts. When this didn't work they said oh it must be this other problem with your car. This happened 3 times. They made me pay for all 3 repairs. IF YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE YOUR GOING TO HAVE A BAD MONTH. Today they exceeded my expectations, when after checking with two highly rated Westside tire stores who wanted $25.00 to replace a leaking valve stem, Firestone replaced the leaking valve stem for free, and were surprised that any tire shop had the hutzpah to charge a customer $25.00 for a five minute job. read more

My husband had a flat tire today so took the car to our local Encino Firestone Store. He arrived at 3:45pm and sat there until almost 7:00pm before anyone would even look at his car. He was then told that they wouldn't repair it because it was too close to the sidewall of the car when in fact the nail was in the tread and not the side wall. All they wanted to do was sell him a new tire. They had to inflate the damaged tire so he could even get back home and now has to start all over tomorrow. These guys are awesome! Super honest, efficient, and reasonable prices. I had come in tonight to get my tire plugged, but unfortunately iI required a new tire instead. They got me the best deal on a top of the line tire and didn't try to do any upsells. In fact, I had to ask them to purchase a new tire after they told me that my tire was not pluggable. While I was there, I noticed they also perform oil change and maintenance services as well. I was planning on taking my car into the dealership this weekend to get its routine maintenance service, but decided to let Firestone take care of it, so 2 birds, 1 stone. Turns out their servicing (which was totally equivilant to what I'd be recieving at the dealership) was wayyyyy less expensive. I will definitely take my car to them for routine service from now on rather than to my expensive dealership! I highly recommend these guys.
