I called last week to schedule an appointment to have my brakes checked. I was hearing a noise when accelerating that would eventually stop once I slowed down and came to a stop. I was told that it did not sound like a brake problem and would need to have a $30 noise inspection done (this was also after I told them I had a coupon for the brakes). So scheduled the appointment for the next day, took it in and went to the Galleria Mall while the car was being checked. A little over an hour later I received a call that my car was inspected and it was the right front wheel hub and bearings that needed to be replaced. I was also told that I should really replace both the left and right front because they tend to go out. Had him give me an estimate for both and just the one side that was an issue ($700 for both and $345 for one). Did not schedule an appt because I wanted to get additional estimates. Received a less expensive estimate at another mechanic only to find out, my wheel hub and bearings were just fine. No issues. The issue was my rear brakes - initially the reason I called Firestone.. Now I'm out $30 for a useless inspection that came up with incorrect information. Maybe it was just the location I went to because I haven't had any issues at other locations including out of state. Highly disappointed and will not ever return to this location or any other Firestone for that matter. read more

Had a much better experience at another Firestone in the valley. Super long wait just for an oil change, tire rotation, and change light bulb for back license plate. Did an inspection on the car and it seemed to me like that's all they wanted to do was provide extra services and a few that weren't even needed IMO. read more

Came in for my first visit with Firestone on 05/07/15 for an oil change. When i took my car in, there were no problems with my car. When Nathan (person that was helping me) told me about what they found from the initial inspection, the only thing he said was that the car alignment was off and the air filter was pretty dirty (he even took it out to show me). So, after the oil change was over and I was paying, Nathan mentioned to me that his mechanic JUST TOLD HIM that "by the way, the traction light and red lightning bolt light (don't know what it's called) was on when he initially pulled the car in before the inspection." THIS WAS NOT MENTIONED TO ME WHAT SO EVER, when I asked Nathan why this was not mentioned, he stated "because this is something that the dealer usually takes care of, so we didn't see a reason to mention it!" When I got in my care to drive it home, the lights were still on and the car would not go over 20 mph! They did a free diagnostic on the car, but of course they said there was nothing they could do because "it's impossible for an oil change to affect the car in that way". read more

I'm not sure why this location has so many bad reviews. I've been coming here since moving to the area in August 2012. They are always friendly, quick, and apologetic if things take a while or if they need to call or ask you about recommend services. As a woman, I feel that I know quite a bit about cars, and I never once have felt like they were trying to sell me something I didn't need. The only time I felt overcharged was once when they offered to change a windshield wiper blade, and I assumed it wouldn't cost much. I can do it myself for less than $10, but it cost me $40 there...still, though, my fault for not asking how much it would cost. Anyway, I called this morning around 10 and they were able to take me at 4 pm for an oil change and transmission fluid change (manufacturer recommended). I knew I was coming up on needing new tires, and they asked me half-way through the appointment if I wanted to get new ones. Since I was already anticipating getting some (planning on May), I looked at the options and got new tires as well. I never once felt pressured and I have refused services in the past that I felt could wait. I don't think they are trying to take advantage of you, and I always feel that they do a good job explaining why something is necessary. I put everything on my Firestone card, and they gave me an extra discount. All in all, this is a good location. I have been using Firestone to service my car since I bought it new in 2010 and I'm glad I use them. I've taken my car on many road trips, and the desert heat is not the friendliest for cars, so I feel they help me keep my car safe and running well. read more

I had a great experience here. They were no hassle. I dropped off my car before work and they had it ready well before I asked them to have it ready. I was in and out at drop off and pick up. They even found me a coupon to save me money on the work being done. I will definitely be back for any future maintenance. read more

They got my car fixed for a good price. Only problem came when it took 30 min over the 1.5 -2 hours I was quoted and it took long for them to get my car out to me. Next time I'll do it on a day off. I could not be more pleased with the awesome service and how we were treated. My husband's car was having issues and we took it in to get it checked out. We were presented with what needed repair and never felt like we were pressured to have any unneccesary work done. We ended up going back for new tires. We thought we were going to have to rent a car to get home and come back for our Excursion. The tech was familiar with diesel engines and did not try to sell us unneeded services. I have always had a good experience at this location. I take my car to them for oil changes and they NEVER try to scare you into getting things repaired. That's important to me. I had to have a couple of expensive repairs done to my car (it has 130,000 miles on it) and Javier took care of me from start to finish. He made sure I was completely satisfied. I had a little problem on one of the repairs and he took care of it swiftly and accurately. Javier is a very kind and honest person, so I would recommend working with him if you visit this location. My Son in Law serving in the Air Force was home on leave, took car here, and my Husband who has owned shops for years had him save parts, the pads were barely ready if they were, to be replaced and the rotors were fine, then they use lessor quality to replace the parts. I love taking my car here. Not only is the service great, but it's close to Galleria Mall so you don't have to sit around being bored. I've had my brake pads replaced, my oil changed, and a tire patched. They are very good about communicating what needs to happen to your car before they do anything and give you options. They fixed my tire for free (because I'm a local), removing a nail and patching the tire. I never feel like they are pushy about upselling and they don't treat me like I'm stupid because I'm female (which I feel can be rare from mechanics). They even offer coupons to you for your service and I've never felt I was just a number to them. Great service and great people. read more

I went to this location on 5/28/2016 to have catalytic converter replaced along with a radiator flush and oil change . Not only did their tech leave a flash light in the engine of my car , immediately it began to overheat to the degree that now my car requires a new head gasket . Although the customer service team at this location are excellent in particular Gus , the team that repairs vehicles must receive further training. read more

the only reason they have 1 star is by default!!! i went here to get my oil changed while there they try to up sale me on everything!!! i let them know that i just want the oil change. i let them knowi need synthetic and they they try to tell me that i need to have my car system flushed out. i'm like for what i just need an oil change. they proceed to constantly come back and tell me what i need for my car! really just because i'm female and i drive a nice car dont try to et over on me. just change the oil. then they want to come back and tell me about my tires how they need balancing. omg just change my oil! needless to say they finally change my oil. when i get home i decide to check under the hood! my air filter cover is missing the other cover under my hood is laying on the engine. i call to complain and they say oh im sorry please come back in and let us take care of that. they put in the order for the missing car piece from my car. they dont' call me back for 2 months then let me know that my items are in and that there will be no charge! omg really you lost it why would i pay for it! never offered any other incentinve or apology. not only that when i get my car back there's now a leak of course they just want me to pay more money to them. i take it to another shop where they advised me that someone loosened the clamp to have it start leaking! i even tipped these assholes!! needless to say that i will never go back to another firestone again. since they like to rip you off and take advantage of women!! so ladies beware do not go to firestone here and stay away from fred he's the wrost. well they're all very bad! and i will keep letting everyone know how bad firestone really is!! but karma will get them. i hope someone tries to take advantage of their, wifes, mothers, sisters, daughters and nieces so that why they know how it feels to get taken advantage of!!! do not do business with these creeps. read more

My Ford Explorer was handling poorly. I stopped in to have them look at it and they upsold my to a once over of the vehicle for $15. Ok cool...take a look at it. They come back with the tires are shot and dangerous. Ok, And my two wheel hubs are bad. WHAT! I just had one replaced two weeks ago and the other one was replaced two months ago. Are you telling me both parts failed? I asked to see it. They showed me a rag full of grease to prove that the two hubs were bad. They pointed out to me that the outside of the hub looked brand new but the inside looked "100 years old" indicating they had failed. Omg! Each hub is $150 just for the part not to mention what I paid for the install . And I had two of them installed within weeks of each other. They want to replace both hubs, replace ball joints, and check the rear end, because they will almost 100% guarantee that it's what's causing the sway, so it'll need repair also. Damn. So I got the tires, an oil change and an alignment. Over $700 and told them I would be back for the other work since I had arrived there at 12:30 and it was now 6:00PM. I, of course went back to my mechanic to talk to them about the hubs they had put on that had failed and guess what...nothing's wrong with them. They are brand new and in perfect working condition. WTF?! Caveat Emptor...buyer beware. ESPECIALLY if your female. NO BUENO! Just because I don't have a penis doesn't mean I'm an idiot. read more
