Don't use Firestone! Use a company that cares about its customers. Today, I took my car in for a part that was under warranty with Firestone. I received a call later in the day stating my total was $105. I asked what I was being charged for as the part was under warranty and the person I spoke with couldn't give me answer other than "I don't know man, it's just what the computer is telling me you owe". I immediately asked for a manager to clarify what I was being charged for. The same person responded "how can I help you" and confirmed he was the manager. So I replied "as the manager you can't tell me what I'm being charged for". He then replied "that this was nothing I should be starting an argument about" to which I replied, "I'm not trying to start an argument, I just want to know what you are charging me for". Even though they didn't provide what I was being charged for, I ultimately paid the $105 (as it was never about the money) to do the work and put Firestone in my past. I will no longer use Firestone and am taking my business to a company that values their customers. read more

I'm so disappointed, I wasted my Sunday and my only day off because of Firestone, I had an appointment set at 11am at another location down the street from this one, drove thirty minutes to it only to find out its closed this Sunday even though it says the location is open online. I drive all the way to this location and explain the situation and I informed the employee that I also have an appointment at 1pm at this location today, he asked for my name and said "yeah I can't get you in until next Saturday, I'm not accepting any online appointments today" I said okay and walked away. All I needed was alignment and balance done, but I guess I didn't look like I would be a good customer to this gentleman, because he did help the guy in front of me without an appointment, he opened a repair ticket and grabbed his keys. read more

We are cruising through from Wisconsin to Tulsa and got a nail in our tire right outside of St Louis. After trying to fill and fix, we knew we needed a replacement. Went to three places and no one has tires in stock. At least not our tire. So we went where we should have gone first. Firestone! It's always my husband's first choice, but it didn't come up on the map the first time we searched. Thank goodness for these guys. Luckily we got there right before a rush. But they got us in and out in an hour. Even let us bring our hound/lab mix in while we waited. They knew our urgency and were so speedy and kind. We will continue to use Firestone. I made an online 7 am appointment at the 15210 Manchester, Ballwin, MO store. Got an e mail confirmation and went there the day of the appointment. Get there and see a note on the door that says due to staffing shortage, store doesn't open until 8. There was a man inside who pretended to not see me and ignored me waving and trying to get his attention. Mostly I was wanting to know why someone couldn't have said in the e mail confirmation that the store didn't open until 8 am. So I've gotten on the chat twice now to try and resolve the Issue Number I was given. Each time someone says I will be contacted. Two weeks have passed and no one has bothered to get back with me. Poorly managed location, poorly managed chat, and poorly managed follow up. Why even have these resources available if you are going to ignore them and try and resolve a customer service issue. People will go elsewhere. read more

And the next day I realized tranny fluid had been leaking for a while by the looks of driveway and they said nothing about it. So not your place for total car care. read more

Just dropped off my truck for a state safety inspection. So far, I was pleased with the level of customer service and speed in which they got me in and out of there. I'll update more upon pick-up.... Whoops, forgot to follow up on my visit. These guys are great. Not super over the top customer service (although very good) but that's not what I was there for. I was looking to buy a used car, I called Firestone Complete Auto Care center at this location, and was quoted $70 for the used car purchase inspection over the phone. When I dropped off the car, whoever did the paperwork gave me a copy of the work order and it showed $70 as "Miscellaneous Inspection, Used Card Purchase Inspection" and another line that showed "$21.99 Vehicle Inspection. I asked them why there 2 lines on the work order with 2 different prices? I was told, oh don't worry about it, it's $70, we'll take that $21.99 off the bill. Okay, they did the inspection, I paid for the service but didn't end up buy the car. A few weeks later, I found another used car and had a different Firestone Complete Auto Care Center do the inspection. The reason is the same, I wanted to get a used car inspected to make sure there isn't anything wrong with the car. Guess what? This location was HONEST with their price and only charged me $21.99 for a "Complete Vehicle Inspection". Now, I purposely didn't mention the dishonest person's name on this review and didn't mention the second Firestone's location because I don't want to get anyone in trouble. The person who quoted me the $70 is unethical and looking to take advantage of his customer. I have copies of the receipts from both Firestone Complete Auto Care and YOUR NAME. I have proof that you wronged me, and thank you for teaching me this valuable lesson and I will NEVER come to your shop for any service ever again! read more

I usually reserve reviews for restaurants but my experience this previous Sunday was too remarkable to let this go. Though they probably are well deserving of their 4.5 star rating, this experience was anything but. I came home from vacation to a completely flat tire, punctured in fact, so bad I barely made it to the Firestone store on Manchester. The tire wouldn't hold air, it was a Sunday, and I was in a tight spot; so I already knew I was asking a lot for them to bail me out. Greeting the young lady at the counter who couldn't look anymore annoyed, I told her I had a flat tire and it absolutely needed to be replaced to which she responded "We'll eventually get to it before we close today." (Verbatim). What does that even mean?! It's 1pm, "it means we'll eventually get to it before we close at 6." Already stressed and further irked by her little sassy answer, under normal circumstances she would have found herself cussed out but I actually wanted to try and have my car serviced there. I asked how many were ahead of me to which she told me six and then proceeded to basically lay out reason after reason why it would take long and hinting at the service couldn't be done today. The manager who was within earshot joined in on the charade and offered his two cents "let him know that we'll TRY to do it today." Essentially they didn't want walk-in customers that day and offered every excuse to dissuade me from staying, both associate and manager echoed that sentiment in concert. I've experienced the same at their Olive location in the city, equally as rude to their customers. I took my business to Costco, who happily put two new tires on my car which are probably better quality and price anyway; no need to wait hours for crappy and rude service. Firestone who I have previously used for the last six years was the first place I stopped, now it will most definitely be the last; and they don't care either way. read more

I've been to this place numerous time and never had a problem. I always bring my car in for oil changes here. They will quote additional "recommended" services, which I usually review and turn down and do myself. For the work I have had done there, they've been great. There have been a few times they have saved me money. My wife had her car in to a different place for an oil change and they told her she needed a complete break job. I brought it here for a second opinion and they let me know the breaks were fine and estimated mileage for when they would need to be replaced. I also had a check engine light come on for my car. I brought it here to have diagnostics, they provided a print out of the Ford technical bulletin regarding the issue and recommended I take it to the dealership where the work would be covered. They didn't charge for the diagnostics. Overall, I am very happy with the service provided here and would recommend them. read more

I don't usually care for Firestone because once you get your car in the shop, they micro analyze your vehicle for things you probably don't really need and because you're the dummy in the waiting area, you have to take their word for it, within reason. I generally get a second opinion, if I have the option. On this visit, I was in west county, my wiper blades were torn up, and a big storm was rolling in. So, I rolled into Firestone and even though they were swamped and about to close, the guy at the register came out and installed them for me immediately. I left a happy girl. read more

They don't accept competitor coupons, they have said I needed to repair items that I know didn't need to be repaired. I went their yesterday needing an oil change and some work on my brakes. The quote for the oil change was $20 MORE than I have ever paid there before (and I was using my Firestone card). I asked why the price was more and he said they must have been undercharging me. I walked to Dobbs right next door and they did everything and MORE for less that the quote from Firestone. My recommendation is to go someplace else. read more

Horrible service. My little brother was driving my truck when he got a flat tire. They made fun of him for not knowing all the information about the truck. Then sold him the stock tire size for a truck with bigger tires on it. Not to mention the tire they sold him was already 3 and a half years old. Went back the following day to try to make things right. They flipped out and refused to take this odd ball tire back. We went right up the street to NTB and had some real professionals get the right tires on the truck. No one I know or care about will ever be visiting firestone again. read more

As much as we know all of these major chain stores can be a rip off sometimes, the people to work inside of them can still make a very large difference in the work and experience you receive. My visit today was the best I ever had any car care store in general. I was very pleased with the manager's care of my immediate needs as well as the enthusiasm he and the people at the desk had. Absolutely terrible customer service. After our car being in the shop for 7 days we arrived on Friday around 4 p.m. to pick up our car, only to find that the shop had closed without prior notice to its customers at 2 p.m. No apologies or explanations on the door. On Saturday we were told that there was a "COVID concern" which necessitated the early closure on both Friday and Saturday. We requested they take our credit card info over the phone and leave our vehicle on the lot with key locked inside. We were told they could not take payment over the phone nor leave the car outside, even at the owner's request. Was assured, however, that enough staff would be on hand Sunday to allow them to stay open till 4 p.m. But, guess what? Upon arriving at the shop well before 4 p.m. it was closed. A call to a neighboring Firestone resulted in the man there saying he would call his manager to see if he could possibly go to the original location to accept our payment and release the car. No follow up call was received after this, but when we called back 3-4 minutes before the second shop was about to closed, the man explained that he made several calls, and was unable to reach anyone in management. I wonder if their building was on fire if they would have been able to reach anyone? So, after borrowing a family member's car so as to be able to go to work and school on Monday, and getting another person to take this family member to the shop on Monday before they closed early again, our payment was accepted and the car was obtained. The person behind the counter disavowed any knowledge of the debacle..."I wasn't here." How fortunate for him, but not a good enough answer. Questions for the manager: why would you close early and not notify your customers with cars ready to be picked up of the change? People need their cars and plan according to the expectations of getting them when they are ready. Even if some employees were sent home early, isn't it the manager's or someone else from Firestone's responsibility to see that all business is taken care of even if it means staying late to make calls to customers? Why did an employee state on Saturday that the store would definitely be open until 4 p.m. on Sunday, and then it wasn't. He knew we were planning to come in Sunday, why didn't he call and inform us of the change of time for closing? Are management people not on call for problems, and if not, shouldn't they be so and be responsive? This entire episode reeks of total disregard for customer needs and convenience, abominable business practices, and a lack of just plain common courtesy. read more

Amazingly bad warranty. I would not recommend to anyone. About 3 months ago I bought some new tires from Firestone. Just left the same location and will never go back to a Firestone. One of the tires had worn out completely across the middle and another was wearing early but was still passable. I went in, showed them the tires, asked about replacement and warranty and they said they would look at it and see what they could do. They told me to leave it and they would work it into the schedule. They called a few hours later and said it was ready for pick up. When I got there the guy hadn't even given me an amount but want to know how I would pay for it. I asked for the amount due and he told me. I asked what they did for that amount and found they had replaced the bald tire and charged me more for the replacement tire than I had paid fot the original and they gave 0 warranty. NONE. To get any tire warranty with Firestone you must rotate the tires every 5000 mi. I drive a lot and with multiple vehicles I have bought a load of tires and never experienced such poor tire life or warranty. Don't waste your money here. read more

I needed that all dreaded vehicle inspection and waited until the last ten days of the month, so I guess I looked like an easy mark to fork out some unneeded repairs. I knew my truck was going to need some engine work because the engine light had been on for a series of months. Sure enough; a near $500 bill for a fuel/air sensor replacement. That's what it needed in order to pass the emission portion of the test, so I gave the go ahead. The next bit of news turned out to be the real shocker. I was told my vehicle wouldn't pass the safety inspection due to a couple of fringed threads on a two inch length of the seatbelt strap. They quoted me a $405 repair bill. Needless to say, I kindly refused their offer to fleece my wallet. Two days later, after paying for the sensor replacement and emission certificate, I told them they'd most likely lost a customer. On the way home, I stopped at the corner mechanic at my local service station and told them I needed a safety inspection and asked if they could fit me in. They kindly agreed and after a fifteen minute, thorough inspection, they found not a single problem. It wasn't until they tried to input it into their computer system that they saw the flagged notice about the seatbelt strap from Firestone. They mentioned it to me and checked the strap again and told me there was no reason it should not pass. I paid my 12 bucks and with an approved safety inspection certificate in hand, I was happily on my way to the DMV. After realizing how badly I had nearly been ripped off by Firestone, I thought I'd detour from the DMV and test my luck by stopping at another garage to see what would happen if I had it checked again. It was worth another 12 dollars to find out, so I peeled the inspection sticker off the window and pulled into a reputable auto repair shop. I didn't mention a thing about the seatbelt strap, or the previous approval I had just received for the safety inspection. After another thorough inspection, once again, there was no problem. I then mentioned what I had done and they checked the seatbelt strap for themselves and shook their head in dismay. They also agreed that there was no reason it should not have passed. I will never take my current vehicle, or any future vehicle, to Firestone. read more

My review is not so much with the service to or quality of repairs, but rather, customer service. I had a leased vehicle which apparently had a defective tire. The Leasing company brought out a replacement vehicle late at night and had the defective car towed to Firestone. The following day, I realized that some of my personal items were still in the vehicle, I went to Enterprise and they did, in fact find some of my items that were overlooked when I received the replacement car. However, I had a pricey Cell phone holder, charger with built in bluetooth and 4 USB ports on an extended gooseneck-lighter plug base. This is one of those items that is only found on line at a specialty store and since Enterprise did not find it with the other items, they referred me to Firestone, where the tire repairs were being made. I arrived at Firestone, explained the situation, and the counter man (very cordial), called for the manager and appraised him of the situation. The manager apparently did not know what a goose neck was so the counter gent and I explained it to him. He then said, "we don't keep things", I asked him if there was a process for lost and found items that I could initiate, and once again, he stated that they found nothing. So, I resigned myself to going back on line to re order another pricey item. I said, "Well, I guess I will just have to go on line then" and left the store. As I went to my car, The manager followed me out and asked, "what did you just say?", and I was uncertain of his intent, but I repeated my option to go back on line, and he then said, "You better watch out what you write, or you will end up being sued for defamation of character." I replied to him that he was making an assumption that did not exist. He then repeated his statement that I had better watch out what I did on line (???). Firstly, anyone who listened in middle school civics class, knows that defamation of character is a tort, and libel and slander are probably what he thought he meant to present as a threat. My issue is, that this man felt compelled to follow me (just shy of 67 years old), with a handicapped tag in my leased vehicle, to the parking lot and generate threats to me about something that he had no conceptual cognitive data. I felt (verbally) threatened and in the pursuant 3 weeks, I followed up with a letter to Firestone Corporate offices, and their response has started a dialogue. I am retired after almost 45 years in a service oriented profession and could not rationalize, in any fashion how any similar behavior in any business, would be tolerated as acceptable. I discussed this with my colleagues and friends and without exception, all agreed that this was a myopic and xenophobic reaction and most definitely threatening to a customer/consumer. Firestone has lost any possible future business from me as a result of this person's demeanor and behavior. read more

Had taken car to dealer with low tire pressure light before we left on our road trip. Dealer said nothing wrong with tire even though it was 2nd time for light to come on. When we reached St. Louis area, light came on again. We dropped in at this location. When the technician went to put air in the tire, he heard it leaking. He carefully checked tire & found a small piece of metal in it. Had tire repaired quickly, & we did not miss our tour of the Kraus house. Drove to Canada with no more problems. Thanks! My wife took her car there for an oil change this summer before we went on a vacation and on their "free inspection" she was told that her brake fluid was contaminated and needed to be replaced. I took her car the next day and dropped it off at a small neighborhood garage near were I work for a second opinion. After an inspection by the neighborhood mechanic I was told there was nothing wrong with the brake fluid and he infact had never heard of contaminated brake fluid. He did not charge me for his inspection. At this point it was decided to not take our cars to Firestone in the future. Then this week without my knowledge my son took his car there for an oil change and two tires. After their "free inspection" he was told he needed new ball joints, new exhaust system, and a brake fluid flush because it was contaminated. So back to our neighborhood garage today and found out that there was nothing wrong with the ball joints or brake fluid. He did need the tires and exhaust system, but he saved over $1000 by getting a second opinion. It is unfortunate that this type of business practice goes on and most people don't have the chance to get a second opinion and end up spending a lot over money they don't need to spend because of the greed by the Firestone company. I came in last weekend because I ran over a nail and I was in a panic because my tire was punctured and losing air quickly. I spoke with Jason Blanchard and he said they were backed up for three hours. However, he managed to squeeze us in when he knew we had to somewhere to be. I really appreciate the customer service he showed us. I had peace of mind knowing that my tire was going to be repaired in a timely manner. I would definitely return to this location. I normally don't do this but this deserves it. I took my car in today for a motor mount replacement and to change the turn signal switch. They told me 3 motor mounts were bad and the switch was bad. They wanted $2700 for the job. I took it to calverts on Manchester in town and country and they said less than $800 for the motor mounts and switch. That's $2775. difference. I will never take my car to a Firestone again. They charge you outrageous prices for work that shouldn't be done. I have taken it to Firestone before for a muffler it was quoted at $475 and Calvert was $197. HORRIBLE place do not waist your money when you can find it thousands of dollars cheaper. The only reason I gave them one star is cause I was forced to. read more

I just left the Firestone a few minutes ago.... needless to say that I was disappointed by the level of customer service. I went in for an oil change and I knew it would be busy but had time to wait. I asked the employee behind the customer service desk how long it would be for an oil change... he replied "tomorrow" and walked away. Maybe this is just a suggestion to the Firestone folks but let's see if it could have been handled differently. How about this.... the Firestone Customer service responds "we are really busy today and the earliest I can get you in is tomorrow. Let's see if we can find a time tomorrow that will work for you. Let me look at our schedule...... looks like we have 11:30 am open, will that work for you? By the way we have a coupon on-line for a synthetic oil change good for President's Day weekend. You can print it out and bring it in tomorrow." There are many options in our area.... one would expect to be treated a little better for one to return. read more

Rip off artists... Had my truck at my dealership last week and they told me to get new front brake pads soon, was down to my final 30% and suggested it doing it soon to preserve my rotors on the front. Took it to Firestone the same week and told them to just put front pads on it.. Got a call after they had it 5 hours and said my rotors were ruined and needed new ones. I asked how could this be if the dealer just had it a few days ago and told me the opposite. Ryan, stumbled and mumbled on his words.. When I showed up a few minutes later to get my truck, the worker was white faced and embarrassed that he had been caught like the dirt bag he is... My family has gone to this location for over 15 years and still they have no shame to bend us over like any other customer walking in the door. Took my truck back to the dealer for front pads, explained what happened and they actually walked me out to the truck with rims off to show the rotors were perfect, the car was less than a year old!
