An auto shop I actually TRUST!! I recently took my car to Jiffy Lube for an oil change and they told me I needed a whole bunch of other services as well and my total would be $419. From the parking lot I called over to Firestone and asked for a quote on those same services - they said $180. So I immediately drove over to Firestone. They did an inspection on my car and said I didn't need most of the services that Jiffy Lube said - just an oil change and cabin air filter change for a total of $74. From $419 at Jiffy Lube down to $74 at Firestone is a huge difference! I was very grateful for David and Sam who were so helpful. They also advised that the tread was wearing low on 2 tires, but I still had some time and could wait until the next oil change. For someone who is clueless about cars (ME!) it is great to know that I can trust and rely on them to provide the truth about what my car needs to keep me safe - and not just try to sell me things. I will go back to Firestone for everything! read more

This place is great. I started going here because I needed an oil change after the place right up Sepulveda didn't screw on the oil filter correctly- it was bad. I have a Honda so maybe its easy to work on. But, this weekend I had my oil changed, wipers replaced, wheels aligned and balanced and my old Honda drives great. Last time I had an oil change and transmission fluid replaced. The guys that work here are grown men and are professional. The price they tell you is the price and its not that crazy especially if you use the coupons. read more

I've been coming to this Firestone for at least 7 years now. The main thing that's totally worth it here is the lifetime alignment. I think it's about $200 now, but you can come in every 6 months or as needed if the car is pulling. I just routinely get my alignment checked yearly if I don't notice anything since LA streets are bound to throw it at least a little out of alignment. I've gotten tires here, and they were decent enough to fix a balance issue without additional charge when I think we drove over something that knocked one of those balance weights off. This was pretty soon after we bought the tires so it was kinda expected level of service. I don't think id get any other auto services here though. Wheels and alignment, sure. Anything else, including breaks, I just don't get that good a feeling from this place. They're not what I'd call a trusted mechanic. They do a decent job with wheels and have a money saving option for alignment, but ive had enough questionable experiences that I would never service my car here. For example, once when I went in for an alignment, the guy tried to tell me my brake pads were low and so was the tread on my tires and I should replace 2 of them (at a $500 cost for my low profile tires). I asked for brake pad measurements, they didn't have them (I'd replaced the pads only a few months prior). Then I asked him to show me which tires were low on tread, we went out to my car, looked at the tires and he said never mind. Other times, after an alignment, they seemed to be annoyed when I asked for the alignment readout if it wasn't included, and then he only let me see it for a minute and then took it away. Really weird and not totally trustworthy. I will say, when Greg the manager is the one I'm dealing with, it's usually better. But in general I've learned they if I show up with my husband (or male friend/coworker) they don't try to pull as much over me. Yup, I'm saying they're pretty sexist. Kinda depressing that this is what I think of the tire shop I still go to, but the alignment deal is just that good for me. I'll probably go to Costco for my next set of tires, but I'll still deal with this place once a year for my alignment. read more

I called to see if they would change my wheels for me. I explained I wanted to use my old tires. They said fine, it'll take an hour come on in. I got a friend at work to follow me there, so I could drop it off on my lunch break. I get there and they tell me my tires are old, I need new ones. I explained that the person on the phone understood and told me it would be $26.99 per tire, come on down. I wasted 1 hour of my time, the manager was unapologetic, and walked away. What a fantastic experience! I'd been having issues where the coolant was getting too hot. Its a LONG story, but Carmax, the Dodge dealership, and a local mechanic couldn't figure it out. A friend suggested that I take it to Firestone, and I thought, "A tire store? That's not the right place." Needless to say, one Sunday, I was driving by - YES - A SUNDAY (So, that helped convince me) and I parked and came inside to inquire. Before I could finish my sentence, Jeffry was outside looking. I was so incredible impressed. Michael, inside, was really warm and listened, and Jeffry fixed my issue that had been happening for over a year! First time in 10 years taking my car to someone other than the VW dealership on Hindry. Only brought it here because the dealership was overwhelmed with a backlog of work due to the recent shut downs and all I needed was a new battery. I got my car back and noticed the ignition was sticking when trying to turn the key and thought that's new and probably from something they did but I'm sure it will resolve itself. Two days later and the ignition key won't turn at all no matter how much force I use. Firestone said I can bring it in and the cost is on me. I would rather take it back to VW were I have had zero scam issues then take it back to Firestone and end up with more issues. They were hoping to make another $1000 from me. No thank you!!!! Last night I drove over a huge bolt that stuck in my front tire causing an audible air leak. I called the Manhattan Beach Firestone about 6:30pm, unsure if they would be willing to take me, as I was about 15 minutes away and would be rolling up right before closing. Kenny assured me they could help and told me to come on over. Adolfo, the technician, stayed beyond the 7pm closing time to finish the repair and was able to get me on my way much sooner than I expected. Both Kenny and Adolfo were super helpful, friendly and professional and never once made me feel like I was inconveniencing them by keeping them a little after closing time. I woudn't hesitate to come back here for tire service in the future if needed. read more

Not a great experience. I brought my car here to get the brakes fixed. They were supposed to be doing a brake inspection and told me i needed a new radiator. They kept saying my radiator was more of a priority than my brakes. I completely maxed out my firestone credit card paying for this "new" radiator that was installed. They also replaced the brake pads. First, the radiator was not installed correctly. The first day I drove it, my car kept over heating. Now every time I drive my car, the engine fan turns on very loud. It's constantly turning on trying regulate temperature under the hood, which it's never done before!! I never needed a radiator at all.... and the brakes. They squeak louder than ever. I brought the car to my other mechanic and he said the pads they gave me were of the cheapest quality. I'm now getting the new pads that I just bought from firestone replaced (waste of time and money) with better quality pads that won't squeak. I question the quality of this radiator as well. Today I tried driving uphill and had to turn around and go home because my engine fan was turning so loud and the car then began to idle very hard. I hate leaving bad reviews because I work in customer service as well, especially since I've been bringing my car to firestone for a while now. I even have a good review of the Redondo Beach location up from a year ago. It is what it is, and this is kind of a deal breaker for me. I recommend to do your research go to another trusted mechanic before coming here, especially if you're a woman. They will try to up sell you on things you don't need. Thanks for ruining my car guys. I stopped into Firestone Tire with a few coupons, thinking I could save a little on my maintenance. They put heavy emphasis on upselling me even though I told them I was on a budget. They failed to give me a copy of the estimate, and called me saying I needed new tires. I told them to hold off and they did the wheel alignment anyway. When I questioned why they proceeded with this if I needed tires, they said it was the wheels not the tires that would be affected. When I purchased tires elsewhere a few days later they refused to check the alignment. They also suggested I open a Firestone account to save 10% and that it would be same as cash for 90 days. Unfortunately, I believed what they said and didn't notice the fine print that if you didn't make the minimum monthly payment you'd owe interest immediately. I ended up paying 20% interest and a $25 fine and paid it off after 40 days. Firestone, especially the Manhattan Beach location, puts more emphasis on filling their pockets than on building a long-term relationship by helping cutomers service their vehicles efficently. P.S. Turns out the "deals" on the coupons were the same rates as the everyday rates posted on the walls. read more

The whole staff was awesome!!! Friday May 11th we were driving home from work and the thermostat went all the way down to Cold and the engine light came on. Then as we conitnued driving home the thermostat went all the way to Hot. We were so worried. I was like, OMG I have to meet up with my group from CSLUB tommorow to study for finals.So we went to Firestone first thing in the morning around 7 am. At 2:30 or 3 pm, David the staff who worked there offered to take me to my school. Mind you, I live in the Hawthorne area and David was willing to take my fiance and I to the house first to get my stuff for school. He drove us to Cal State Long Beach. So our Mazda 3i 2007 needed a new thermostat, but we did not know that at first. We drive our car to death and keep up with maintenance. The car has over 90,000 miles on it. We always get our oil changes here and will continue to get our car serviced at Firestone in Manhattan Beach. I have gotton new tires and a tune up from Firestone at a great price for both. These guys take forever to get anything done. I dropped my truck off for a flat repair, when I arrived they were not busy. There were 3 mechanics standing around doing nothing. A 20 min job took them 1 hour 20 min to get done. Their excuse was the found another nail after they fixed the first one, why didn't they thoroughly check the tire in the first place? But they gave me the service for free for the inconvenience. I inquired about their "lifetime" alignment they can only do small cars, I told Michael they should do manual alignment with no lasers he looked at me and told me he's never heard of anything like that before lol. Michael was fast talking grease ball and his customer service skill suck, the phone was ringing while I was there and he was next door talking with the bmw repair shop next door. Repairing a tire with a nail takes 20 min this job took an hour 20 min to do when they had 3 mechanics standing around doing nothing read more

Firestone is a great place to get your car serviced at, i brought my car in for an oil change and they did a bumper to bumper inspection and found problems that needed attention. Im happy they found all the problems i had, if they didnt my car would be junk. The staff and technicians have great attitudes and are very nice. i give them five stars and recommend anyone that needs service done on their vehicle to come to Firestone! read more

All I have to say are good things about the customer service delivered from Michael. My girlfriend had a tire she needed replaced since the inside of the tire was damaged from the factory. We always carry an extra tire in case someone gets a nail from autocrossing or tracking. The shop that we had bought the Bridgestone RE-71R from did not take responsibility and would not help us, however Michael told us that he could, in fact, warranty the tire and even order us a new one to replace it later in the day! A few calls later, he confirmed everything, gave them the #'s that they needed and made sure that we would not be charged for a faulty tire that was never used. He took great care of my needs and got everything done in the same day as he said. About 3 hours later, our new tire was there and he gave us a call immediately after to pick it up. From now on we will buy all of our tires from Michael! read more
