I feel sadness as I write this. For the past several years, I've trusted Firestone Millbrae to take care of my two vehicles. About a year ago, I paid for a complete vehicle inspection. A mechanic checked off that my headlamps were fine when, in actuality, the passenger side headlamp was not working. The manager apologized and offered to have another mechanic redo the inspection and replace the headlamp for free. Nevertheless, my trust was shaken. Today, amazingly, the same thing happened again. I pointed out that the mechanic also might not have checked other parts, such as the brake hoses. Now, I'm waiting on another technician to redo the inspection and replace the driver's side headlamp. Above the door to the shop, there is a quote from the company's founder: "I believe that fundamental honesty is the keystone of business." This keystone has failed for me. Now, I feel that I need to go to another mechanic to have my vehicle checked yet again. read more

During my visit for an oil change, I wasn't sure if they did the alignment and rotation I requested. The receptionist didn't update me while I waited for 90 minutes. Andrew disregarded my first inquiry about my car's status. I assumed they were too busy to work on it. There were a lot of cars lined up. My car was sitting at the front for about 15-20 minutes. On my second attempt, they didn't even check which car was mine and said it would take hours. After persistently asking, another receptionist informed me that my car was already done. If you go to this location, be proactive and ask, or you might end up waiting needlessly for hours. I overheard a few people waiting 2.5 hours just for an oil change. Oil change usually takes only 30-40 minutes depending how busy there mechanic is. I recommend folks to book online in advanced 2 days prior, come few minutes early since there is barely any parking and it took few minutes. read more

While the oil change is reasonably priced, the overall experience leaves a lot to be desired. I called on a Wednesday to schedule an appointment. From my experience, if they don't answer within the first few rings, you're automatically routed to a call center. The call center was able to schedule my appointment for the following Friday, but a day or so later, someone from the store called me saying my appointment was canceled and I'd have to reschedule. Apparently the store books their own appointments and doesn't go by scheduling made by either the call center or thru the website. Ok so I called them back and rescheduled for the following Tuesday - but when that day came, they called again canceling the appointment saying 2 of their mechanics did not show up and I'd have to reschedule AGAIN. So I called back and rescheduled for the third time. When I got there at the scheduled time, I was informed that they only had 2 mechanics and that it would take at least 2 hours for the oil change. It ended up taking over 2.5 hours. The interaction with counter employee was very good - he was very informative and let me know the status of my vehicle - but i just think the overall process could be a lot better. I think they may have a staffing problem because I've gotten the same excuse of mechanics not showing up or only 1 or 2 being on duty at the Redwood City location as well. If everything was discounted, I could understand things being a lacking- but most of the services Firestone performs are NOT cheap. I was going on a road trip and noticed my Tesla Model S was drifting to the left. There wasn't enough time to get in to the Tesla Service Center. This Firestone told me that they could get the alignment right on my car. Despite the negative reviews I gave it a shot. I'm glad I did. They adjusted the front right wheel toe and the car is driving perfectly straight. Darrence was the sales rep that took care of me at the counter. He didn't try to add a "Tesla tax" as many on TMC have experienced. Some Firestones try to tack on a fee for "LIFETIME ADV DRIVER ASSIST SYSTEM RECAL." As an FYI to other Tesla owners, the manual specifically states, "The Steering Angle Sensor calibration at the end is updated automatically by the car as you drive." I appreciated this Firestone location only charged me $199.99 - $20.00 (January coupon) for lifetime alignment service. I wasn't even mad that Darrence tried to upsell me with a synthetic oil change for my electric vehicle. Always be selling. Good job, Lil Double D. read more

I went in for a wheel alignment like about 12 o'clock. I was told there were many appointments before me and it would probably be done by 5 PM. Well, I have nothing to do today, bought new tires and I need an alignment. I was super surprised when they called me at 1:15 to tell me that my truck was done. They are still adhering to Covid protocols and they are a bunch of friendly people too. Do yourself a favor and purchase a lifetime alignment, worth every penny! read more

Brought two of my cars in here for a wheel alignment last year. One vehicle had new tires put on and another had the steering wheel just a bit off; so I thought I'd take it in. So I had them both done.. BIG MISTAKE and BIG HEADACHE! Now, both vehicles have the steering wheel off center and the steering wheels were noticeably turned right when the vehicle goes straight. Super annoying when you have the radio button ands phone call buttons on the steering wheel. After having to re-do BOTH vehicles, I got frustrated and gave up. One vehicle I thought the mechanic did right, but on this day (one year later), I found out my steering wheel was straight, but the tread wear was BAD due to poor alignment. So now my steering wheel is off centered after a tire rotation. The other vehicle I had to take to another Firestone location cause the steering wheel kept getting worse and worse off center. That was eventually fixed. This location is a big waste of time and it messes up your car. AVOID IT! There is a reason why they offer that lifetime wheel alignment program. read more

I've been coming to this location for over 5 years now, and what I really respect from this staff is their honesty. If it's time for me to change some tires, they'll change them. If they can get me in and out with a patch job, they offer me that option, no hustle. And, you can always spend the time it takes for the repair at either Milbrae Pancake House or the dim sum place across the street. Firestone gave us old rusty rotors and brake pads. I took a 2013 Hyundai Elantra here to get brake pads / rotor change hoping that they would keep us safe while driving. Little did I know, they would charge me $300+ and give me rusty rotors and brake pads. I noticed there was noise when I went in reverse so I took it back to them for a test drive to figure out the problem. Their response - we will need to take the rotor and brake pads out to diagnose the issue and it'll cost you more money. They wouldn't even fix the bad job that they did initially but would charge me to fix it. DO NOT COME HERE. I would give it a 0 star if possible read more

Do yourself a huge favor and avoid this place. We made an appointment online for 5PM to patch a tire or get a new one. They close at 6. I received a confirmation email from the website. We went to take our car and arrived on time. They refused to even look at the tire because "we don't take appointments after 4:30". So you can make an appt for 5PM, but you cannot actually receive any services after 4:30. Hmmm..... They were shown the email with the 5PM appt time. They didn't care and sent us on our way. We have had one previous experience with this place regarding a tire and it was fine. This is very confusing and frustrating as this seems to no longer be a location people can rely on. Go across the street to America's Tire. I have never had a bad experience there EVER. Will not be using this Firestone location ever again. read more

Went in for a wheel alignment. Also asked for them to rotate tires and new window wipers because of prior experience I marked one of my tires to be sure that they in fact would rotate my tires when picking up my car I noticed that the tire that was marked was in the same position. I asked the technician was the tires rotated, he looked at my paperwork and said yes I then explained that I marked my tire and it's still in the same position. He then went and asked the technician who worked on my car & that tech said my car had different size tires that it was all wheel drive and then he did not have time to rotate the tires. Another tech standing by said my car tires was all the same size. I as a customer i just want honesty. These guys were not honest & lied on the paperwork . Terrible customer service. Very sloppy mechanics. I brought my Toyota pickup truck in for a Synthetic Oil and Filter change, Lifetime Four wheel alignment and Lifetime Tire Rotation (No Charge). It took them over four hours to complete the job. They even flush my coolant system without my Authorization. They said they phoned me, which I never receive any phone calls from them. I believe they phone somebody else phone number. Of course I complained and said I'm not paying for the mistake that you guys made. So they just charge me for oil and filter change. The mechanics spilled oil and coolant around the engine compartment, the new Oil Filter were covered with grease and they didn't bother cleaning it up. Very sloppy work. I'm never going back to Millbrae Firestone Tires, EVER! This shop doesn't deserve any star, ZERO STAR! If I could remove the one STAR, I would! read more

My car battery had been giving me trouble for months. Sometimes it would start up and sometimes not and I kept having to jump start it. I went into Firestone yesterday fully expecting to pay the $200+ quote for a battery (a known pricey battery, through no fault of Firestone) and installation. After explaining the problem, the man helping me suggested that he test the battery first to see if it actually needed replacing. After just 10-15 minutes, he came in to tell me the battery was basically new, but had been rattling around and the cables were not solidly connected. He tightened everything up and didn't charge me anything. I'm pleased to know there is a reliable auto care business in my neighborhood that will not take advantage of people's expectation that they will need pricier repairs. Thank you! read more

I paid the repair fees for nothing! I visited 2 days ago to repair my tire as the TPMS light came on. We thought there is a hole and patching needs to be done. I paid for the service (flat repair patch plug, repair labor, balance labor) and yet the problem wasn't fixed. The TPMS light came on again this morning when I wanted to drive out (and take note that I didn't drive out yesterday). I called the store about this, but they were full and couldn't take my car. I had to turn to other tire repair shop and they found out that there is no hole to patch. There is simply a gap caused by the weight inserted when I serviced my car 4 days ago. I had to pay for the repair balance labor and that's it. I don't believe that any patching was done at the Firestone in the first place. It is very disappointing that I had paid Firestone for nothing and I had to spend another day dealing with the same problem. read more

I have noticed this issue a few times after picking up my cars serviced from this specific Firestone, their lack of SIMPLE preventative measures to ensure keeping customers cars clean. The easiest way to tell (at least in my case I have noticed a pattern) how dirty the Technician has left your vehicle is by first looking at the invoice signed off by him that shows the work or service done by them. If it has grease on it (as you can see in my attached pictures) then that will probably indicate how the technician has left the interior of your vehicle. The other picture I attached is of a napkin I used to wipe down my steering wheel and shift knob after noticing a gritty substance on my steering wheel when getting back into my car. Mind you I had just cleaned the interior of my car including the steering wheel and shift knob prior to taking it to this Firestone and having it serviced. In this day and age where customer service and attention to detail is paramount, there is no excuse for this type of negligence; the technician can take off the gloves to drive the customers vehicle after the service has been performed, they can use cheap plastic transparent steering wheel covers, cheap plastic transparent seat covers etc. All of those I have listed above I have seen being used at other service centers, there is no excuse. I cringe when I think if the technician touched other parts of the interior that I didn't notice while wearing the same gloves used to work on greasy dirty parts of the vehicle. read more

Got a screw in my tire coming home from a Fire Apparatus Engineering courses in Davis. Made a couple stops to keep air in the tire, and eventually made it to Firestone. I told them what happened and they said, without any pause or uncertainty, that they couldn't help me, that I was too late and should try the tire shop across the street. It was 5:24 and they close at 6:00. I was in full firefighting attire. Maybe this isn't fair of me, but as a firefighter who's only job is to help people, I was pretty bummed out when they refused to help me. read more
