I stopped by this location to get a quick oil change. Quick it was not but I didn't have an issue with that. What I have an issue with is that I asked them to check and see where a leak was coming from. When they were done and finally let me know what was leaking they said it was the transmission. I told thanks that I would have my mechanic check it out as they tried their hardest to pursuit me to do it there. When I had to have my towed a couple days later because this small leak was suddenly massive my mechanic told me that whoever had serviced my vechicle last had purposely tighten the bolts so much that it had cause serious damage to my transmission. Damage that I am still dealing with. So if I could give this place a lower rating I would. What kind of place purposely damages someones vechicle just so they would be forced to pay for their over-priced services. F-this place. read more

I purchased four tires one tire goes out and its under warranty and they tried to force me to buy a whole new one which was not going to happen after countless arguing i get a replacement ordered at a "Discounted" price. I go the following day and not only did i wait an extra hour for a 30 min. job but they charged for a wheel balance parts and labor which they didn't do. I only got home to get even more upset, you figure its a mechanics job to do a inspection of what the "Service" consists of before they say it's "Finished". read more

Not sure why this Firestone has 2 pages on Yelp for the same location, but i figured i'd paste my review from the other page here as well :) Another succesful visit to Firestone. I've had a few since my first review...but anyways...this time not for my own car, but my for my bosses car. The engines been acting up and i had it towed to my man Hugo Navarro to get it all checked out. We knew it probably had to have the head replaced, but wanted an expert opinion. No issues as usual - Hugo took care of us and let us know what was going on with the car once it was fully inspected and diagnosed. I have to laugh at Rey D's negative review tho.... First off....It's Firestone's POLICY not to allow you to use your own parts "Rey D." You're upset that the service manager found out about something that shouldn't have been happening anyways?!?! LOL. Probably one of the reasons why Hugo IS the new service manager. Many of these large repair shops will not use your own parts because they don't know where they come from, and then when cheap parts are used and they break - they then have an angry customer who blames the mechanic and not the real thing at fault - the cheap part they supplied. They supply their own parts because they know where they come from and replace under their warranty if it fails during the warranty period. I bet you'd be the first one to complain about Firestone when some cheap made in china part that YOU supplied fails on your car. Do it yourself if you want to use your own random parts. Or find a mechanic that doesn't have a reputation to care about! If this location did something truly wrong, i'm all about sharing it with other Yelpers. But some of these reviews are complaining about crap that is standard in this industry and giving a bad name to a pretty good shop and an excellent service manager. I've trusted Hugo @ Firestone for a good number of cars in my family - 98 & 97 Honda Accord, 02 Acura TL, 04 Acura TL, 08 Nissan Altima Hybrid, 04 Toyota Camry, 98 Honda Prelude, 05 Toyota Sienna...and i haven't had any issues yet. Went in to get my brakes done, waited 2 hours for them to finish and this was with an appointment. Shortly after I left my brakes were grinding really bad and smelling like burnt rubber. I took it to another mechanic which had fixed my car from an accident and they stated Firestone DID NOT turn my rotors and they put cheap brake pads on. I paid $150.00 for them to fix my brakes and all they did was slap a cheap pair of brakes on which made a horrible noise n smelled. Very poor customer service. 1. They would not accept my coupon which was valid and from Firestone! The little skinny guy started accusing me of making fake coupons. 2. They decided to close early for a "deep clean" as corporate was coming the following day to do an inspection. 3. They recommended repairs that are not valid (I checked with my mechanic). Everyone that helped me was really knowledgeable and made sure i understood the process completely before proceeding to fix the problem. Troy specifically was extremely helpful and really made things work to fit my needs. He called multiple times throughout the day, keeping me informed and updated on the process Also, i wanted to comment about the comment below and the fact that two stars were given for a dirty bathroom. This is a mechanic shop, which involves the uses of chemicals and other thick oils. If anything, you probably walked in at a bad time with a little grease here and there. My daughter needed her car serviced near school. So, this was my first time at this Firestone. Decided on a lifetime alignment and oil change (used online offers). I was helped by BJ and received exceptional customer service! They finished my car within promised time. They did a complimentary inspection of the car, including battery and windshield wipers. I priced their tires (for another car) and prices were comparable to Costco without the wait. Even the wipers for my car were only $10. I'll definitely be back and recommend to other parents with kids at the Claremont schools. read more

I went in after work to have a tire checked that was low! Adam immediately greeted me it was a busy evening. He let me know that he would put my car up on the rack and show me what was wrong with my tire. Once my car was up on the rack he should me the wear on my tire and that it needed at least two tires. It was evident the tread was very worn on the inside of the tires. It was because I never took my car back for an alignment after purchasing my existing tires. I ended up buying a new set of tires, getting the lifetime alignment. I am very satisfied with the service given by Adam and Firestone! My car drives very smooth what a difference!! read more

I have never posted a bad review on yelp, and their service deserved our first one. We have the check engine light on and then we went to Firestone to have the car diagnosed. They charged us $99.99 for the diagnosis. Then they told us the reason is the mass air flow sensor and want to charge us $400+ for the replacement. We know it will be an easy installment so we refused to take their service, bought a new sensor and installed it, which only took a few minutes. We also did a fuel system cleaning as they recommended. After one day, the light came back and we thought it would take some time to erase it. But after two weeks, the light is still on, and then we went back to talk to them. They said we did not do the replacement in their store and they are not responsible for that. Obviously, the mass air flow sensor is not the reason for turning on the light, which means their diagnosis did not pinpoint the real problem. However, they kept blaming us on not doing the service in the store. During the talk, they also kept luring us in agreeing with their nonlogical explanation. I insisted on asking them to provide a solution to our car problem, and finally they just erased our check engine light and said the problem is solved. But after half an hour, the light came back again. read more

Do not go to this location. I told the guy I needed my radiator checked out because I noticed it started leaking. He said it would be $79 for a diagnostic. I said ok, does that include checking everything just in case there is something else wrong? He said " what do you mean ? He said it only includes diagnostic for the cooling system. " I said ok no problem. Then he said another thing is they don't make parts for your car anymore. I said why would I do a diagnostic if they don't even make parts anymore? He said well I have to call around at 10 am when the vendor opens to see if they have the parts. I said it's a yes or no you can find the parts or not. He said well we have to find them and he would be able to. I did not feel like he was trying to help my situation at all and was not knowledgeable about his job. Don't go here unless you don't have a choice. If more than 5 minutes late they'll say you're a half hour late and want you to leave your car all day for an alignment. Don't get lifetime alignment either because I think since not more money coming in they don't treat you the same as would for someone paying for an alignment. Guy in the front was rude and after waiting for him on a phone call at least 5 minutes said we were a half hour late with an attitude and rolling his eyes because looked at clock after his phone call (still wasn't even 15 minutes late after the fact) instead when we walked in which was a little late, but not a half hour like he said. Apparently the guy who helped me must think I'm stupid. I went in on Tuesday 11/14/17 asking for the price of 2 Champion Fuel Fighter 205/65R16 tires and then the price for 4 of them. For 4 it was going to be over $600 which is a total rip off, Ive never paid that much for tires (with labor included) and I have a small car not a truck. So then my dad goes in the next day (Wednesday 11/15/17) asking for the price for the EXACT SAME 4 TIRES and his price is a little over $400? He must have thought I would be stupid enough to fall for his bullshit and extra labor costs he was trying to charge me because I'm a pretty girl with no brain who doesn't know shit about tires. I'm sure everyone knows that when there is something wrong with your car its going to be expensive. My car wouldn't start and I thought that it couldn't have been a bad battery, because I had it replaced about a year ago. I spoke to the Manager Vivian Palomino about my suspicion that they may have put the wrong battery in the car at another location. She found out that I did have the wrong battery in the car. Vivian was a super star today because I had to have my alternator replaced again after only 20k miles. She made some adjustments on my bill because I had been a previous customer with a few headaches at another location. I highly recommend coming to this location if you need any work done. read more

This is just going to be a simple review. My full review will be after my cars service is completed. It's been 1 hour and my car is still parked in the same spot I parked it. It HASNT been started or even pulled up to in line. I was told it'd be 2 hours to do my 2 tires. So, one hour left according to them and still hasn't been started. Also, the store manager lied to me about pricing and tried to rip me off (more on that in my full review). My family member works for firestone and I was told that discount is gonna be the same as a coupon I had. The store manager applied the coupon... I got 46 CENTS OFF. That's it. I called my family member and they had to call this Montclair firestone to get it handled and my actual discount (friends and family) was applied which is FAR DIFFERENT from a coupon I was using. Although I was told they were the exact same. I would not trust this firestone, go to a different one where they care about you and don't try to rip you off. Funny how right above their window is a quote from the founder of firestone saying "I believe fundamental honesty is the keystone of business." Maybe the store manager needs to read that once. No honesty here. Will drive further to get my work done so I don't have to deal with these dishonest people. Also, my car still hasn't been started. And it's not even busy here at all. She took the time and explained everything to me. Since I don't know much about cars, she gave me her recommendations on what she would do if it were her car and what the benefits are. Not very good customer service 3/9/18. Had to take my car back three times for the same reason and each time they charged me. The Manager was rude. I spent over $1000 and have been a customer for several years and never experienced such bad service like I have lately. Especially since they got a new manager.
