Rafael is incredibly rude. Over the phone, I attributed his attitude to being busy and not having time to talk on the phone. However, he had even more of an attitude in person! Rather than explain why the issue couldn't be resolved, he condescendingly talked down to me, insinuating that I can't read. It takes a lot for me to be offended, and I rarely write bad reviews, but this has been bothering me ever since it happened. I saw other reviews condemning the poor customer service, and noticed how a representative often replied to the review. Set an appointment to get an alignment at 11 AM. It took over 2 hours to get my car back, with an appointment, but I get things happen and they get backed up. Alignment came out fine, this review is solely for the guy with the stupid mustache checking ppl in. He has no idea what he is doing. He does not read the reservation instructions. I asked for an alignment and tire balancing. I waited over 2 hours for my alignment to find out they only did an alignment. It would have been convenient for me to remind them when I checked the car in, however I didn't think I needed to hold their hand to complete their job properly, when the reservation notes are easily visible to him. He then quoted me another 1-2 hours to get my tires balanced when he admitted they missed it. He uses the excuse of "under promising and overdelivering" when quoting ppl times. That is fine if you are within 15-30 mins, he misquoted and pissed off the lady that checked in before me by over 2 hours! Supposedly he use to be a manager and elected to step down. This guy has no clue what he is doing he attempts to be smooth and tries to use deflection and small talk to disguise his lack of knowledge and to not properly address client concerns. On top of this the guy could care less abt his job. When clients complain he dismisses their concern and attempts to change the subject (witnessed this with the lady checking in before me). When he is not doing that he is in the bay hanging out with the techs not paying attention to the lobby. This guy is a drag on the business and should not be in a role in which he is "helping" clients. read more

That's why I come here -- the chino and diamond bar locations have shady service and this one has been very good to me BUT usually I work with BJ, who is patient, kind, and friendly. This time, I went in and had the misfortune of working with Rafael, who is the manager but was condescending and rude to me. This happened after I had made an appointment the day before, rushed in, and was told they didn't have room for me and to come back the next day. Before we brought the car into Firestone, the car drove great. Our Mercedes has amazing suspension and no problems other than needing common regular maintenance items, such as new tires and brakes. Here's a rundown of our recent experience at Firestone in Montclair, CA. * Took my husband's car to Firestone for new tires and brakes ($1800) * Went to pick up the car after brakes & tires were installed, could not drive it home. Entire car was leaning down to the front left, wheel nearly touching the wheel well. * Front left suspension was fully blown. Inspected it myself & took pics to share with my husband (since it was his car & his money). Clearly a FRESH rupture. No dirt or debris stuck on the "leak" that pointed out to me, which was running down the shaft of the shock. Even a light layer of dust or dirt could indicate prior damage or prior leaking, but the black grease was clean and fresh. * Manager was kind & very apologetic to me. Offered to only charge me his cost to replace the shock, but by the next day, when my husband called to have the situation resolved, he was unwilling/unable to rectify the situation and had us deal with corporate instead. * Not being drivable, the car sat there, at or in their Montclair location for 13 days while we continuously tried to get Firestone and their corporate offices to help rectify the damage, which Firestone estimated to fix it for around $1700. Paying $1700 for them to replace a part that was broken in their care was not acceptable. * Being slammed down on the front left, completely leaning down, the car was to be kept safe inside their bay until corporate decided what to do. We stopped by & discovered our car outside, UNLOCKED, and with the window DOWN during RAINY weather. * Firestone/Bridgestone was not helpful, even with us calling and emailing, reminding them that our car is in their bay and UNABLE to be used for transportation as we pay our $700 monthly car payment, we still could not get an effort to assist or rectify. * Needing our car back to get to and from work, we finally just had to have the car towed to our dealership to have them fix it. Once it was at our dealership (13 days after sitting at firestone), Firestone's inspector finally contacted us & said he needed to inspect it. Relieved to finally get an active response from corporate, we allowed him to inspect it at the Mercedes dealership. The inspector declared that the shock was faulty & had ruptured and didn't find his company...who hired him...at fault. Mercedes' inspection was not consistent with these findings. The car was in for a routine "service B" less than a month before taking it to Firestone. There was nothing found wrong with that shock. No leak, no rupture. To summarize, be extremely cautious about "drive-through", large corporation service places. Technicians tend to cut corners...especially when their company doesn't enforce higher standards, including a higher standard or quality of training and delivery of the work they provide. A colleague of mine who trains mechanics for a living said that these ruptures happen when the car is not placed on the lift correctly or when the air suspension is not disengaged prior to being put on the lift. Simple, proper protocol should have kept our shock from rupturing. Mistakes can happen but their company should do the right thing and fix their mistakes and be more accomodating. That is why we don't recommend you taking your business to Firestone/Bridgestone. read more

Never servicing my car here again! I only go here to get an alignment because I bought it lifetime for $200, I only made an appointment for an alignment and then after they finished they told me they can do the fuel system cleaning for $120, I'm all like sure. After I go to get something to eat in Upland, my engine starts sputtering, Firestone told me that they did the fuel system incorrectly and they will diagnose it and they told me that "yeah I don't know what the guy did, but he messed it up." My engine now has coolant in a cylinder. Before coming here, I never had problems with my engine or any symptoms of any problem, I think they messed it up or tweaked something because I never had a problem owning my car until now. Good service! So I dropped off my car in the morning to get an oil change. By the time I was off work and Uber over car was about ready. Everyone was nice. But I know now next time I should call in and make an appointment first if I needed the car to be done at a certain time. But today I was at work from 9-5ish anyways so I was okay with it. Never fails been to this Firestone twice and both times the switches to my windows have been damaged. Last time I went my window was stuck in the down position and the told me good luck, did not even attempt to get it back up. Went in for a oil change and tire rotation. Everything went well, high priced but professional and very clean shop. Only problem when I raised my hood a month or so later I found my oil cap set aside and left off. Fortunately no damage or oil escaped as I caught it being off prior to pressure washing my engine. Horrible customer service!!!!! I made my appointment online prior to coming in. For two cars once I get to the shop. I am waiting in a long line with walk in customers who have no appointments but are given an 1hr-1 1/2h wait time. Once I am seeing they tell me they can only work on 1 of my cars and I have to reschedule for the other car, and the wait is 2 1/2hrs. I'm not only upset that I am denied an appointment that I made but that I have to wait 2.5hrs with an appointment! Visited this Firestone today for a routine oil change. No problem. I don't think any reputable mechanic shop can screw that up. However, I also asked them to check my mid pipes for some obvious exhaust leaks. I recently installed headers and high flow cats to compliment the Flowmaster exhaust on my Camaro SS, and its been a great upgrade. Lots of added power... except for a couple of exhaust leaks which were noticed a few days after I installed the high flow cats. Rather than getting it into my shop and troubleshooting myself, I asked the folks at this Firestone to see if they could tighten the bolts and try to eliminate the leaks. Now, I realize they're not supposed to touch aftermarket parts, but the folks here were kind enough to take a wrench and tighten the 4 bolts on each side, effectively eliminating the leaks. I have to say - thanks for that. It saved me time and they didn't charge me anything extra on the already hefty bill for full synthetic oil on a 6.2L V8 (8+quarts).... I should also mention that on top of my 5% discount for using my personal Firestone account, they gave me an additional $20.00 discount, which I'm still not sure for what. Overall - a great experience so I'm going to give them 5 stars! read more

Took our car there Thursday, and made an appointment for today at 1:00 pm got there early place was packed and when we ask for a quote for a part it was 320.00 and we found it for 30.00 and labor was 139.00 to change the part and it is only 2 screws then said the wait would be 3-4 hours so we cancelled our appointment. The manager Rafael talks completely different to women then men. He's actually not customer friendly and cuts you off while you are talking. I had an appointment at 11 arrived at 10:55. He did assist right away. I mentioned to him there was a power steering leak and that I am aware of it. He then said, we will see that, we are only doing an oil change. When I called for the appointment I spoke with someone and explained the leak, he offered some solutions but said they would need to see it. I understood that. Every time I have came here they have offered me every single thing they do. Even tires, when the car has new tires. I will follow up with more when I get the car back. Also, the bathroom is disgusting. No toilet seat covers, the floor is black from dirt, the sink is filthy and the toilet has urine and feces. This is a great place to take your car in for tires or a tire repair.. the staff was really friendly. The office was nice and air conditioned on the hot day and they had water and coffee avaliable. Waste of time. Made an appointment for 12 pm for a vehicle inspection, which one would think wouldn't take more than an hour to complete. The work order was time stamped at 12:14 pm. I left and came back at around 1 pm and they hadn't even moved the car yet! I waited another 20 minutes to see if they'd at least get started but nothing. I was the first customer of the day and after waiting an hour for a tire change Raphael ,who was working the service area ignored me when I tried to ask him how long it would be and then walked into the garage area and told me I had to go back into the waiting area when I followed him I'm and tried to ask him ahaig. When he came back into room he said "I guess the sign doesn't help " and pointed to the stop sign at the top of the door. When he came back into the room he walked behind the desk and called me to the counter. When I began to ask him how long would he cut me off and said with attitude "dude I'll have it done in ten minutes" I just shook my head and walked back to my seat.He then walked over to me with ab receipt he had printed and explained what they found and that he would have everything done in ten minutes when he should have called me to the counter to talk about my financials or any business we had. . Drop off: 3:00 PM Finish Time: 7:30PM If Yelp allows for negative scores, i would rate this place as one of the worst auto mech shops I've ever been to. Who knows, maybe others haven't had such bad luck as me, but this is my first time at a Firestone store and will be my last. 3:00PM I came here for a simple alignment, and they had me go get the Lifetime Alignment service for $169.99. Which is a fair deal for unlimited alignments at a respectable automobile service center (or so i thought). I ask them how long the wait time is and they told me an hour. Okay that sounds about right. 3:30PM I see them drive my car into the shop so I go wander around the plaza for a bit to do some window shopping. 1hr 45 min Later...No phone call so I go back to Fire stone to see what's up to find my car on platform and all my wheels removed. Alright I guess they are still working on it..no sweat. ~5:15PMish rolls around so I ask them what's going on with my car because it's been just sitting up there for awhile. They're like "oh we were going to call you and tell you that you need some more work done on it" AND in comes the list of telling me i need 4 new brake pads, 2 new rear tires, coolant flush, and all my belts replaced. Oh..totaling just around $1000 give or take a hundred with tax. I declined the offer of course, I came in here to spend $70 for an alignment and i'm already up to $170 for a lifetime service. I do most of these services myself anyways. So they promise to get my car out of there as soon as possible. I sit down wondering why they didn't call me an hour ago to tell me this. 6:00pm creeps along and i'm agitated and restless and I hear everything going on in the shop including a Firestone salesman explaining the lifetime alignment service to a male customer and offering him $139.99 if he upgrades it from a $69.99 one time service. This is $30 less than what I paid for earlier this afternoon. I march up to ask a Firestone customer rep about what just happened and he tries to BS it explaining to me how it's some online deal or forum deal, etc. and i'm just like no i heard the entire conversation he just gave that gentleman in a blue shirt who had no idea what a lifetime alignment was for a whole lot cheaper than what I just bought it for. After all his excuses, I just stared at him in the face with this "Do you think i'm stupid?" look. So then he concedes and offers me the same deal and I take it of course. I sit back down and my car is still on the jack with no wheels next to the window in front of me. 7:00PM now and I get up and ask the initial Firestone rep who handled my service what's going on with my car and points to it at the window behind his desk. He goes over to check and comes back and tells me they only have one alignment platform and I will be after the car that's up there right now. And at this point I freak out. "After 3 hours of waiting???" And he seems confused and looks at his monitor and rushes into the manager's office. Now another Firestone rep comes out of the office (the one who I argued with about the unequal service charges) and apologizes to me and tells me he'll pull off that car and do my alignment himself right away. 7:30PM ..another customer is arguing with 3 Firestone reps regarding his vehicle now. This guy came in much later than me. At this point, everyone who has come in after me to get their car serviced has LEFT.... and I finally get my car wheeled out in one piece with my alignment done. 4.5hrs to do 30min of work all because I turned them down trying to increase my service bill with a 10x multiplier. I stopped by this location to get a quick oil change. Quick it was not but I didn't have an issue with that. What I have an issue with is that I asked them to check and see where a leak was coming from. When they were done and finally let me know what was leaking they said it was the transmission. I told thanks that I would have my mechanic check it out as they tried their hardest to pursuit me to do it there. When I had to have my towed a couple days later because this small leak was suddenly massive my mechanic told me that whoever had serviced my vechicle last had purposely tighten the bolts so much that it had cause serious damage to my transmission. Damage that I am still dealing with. So if I could give this place a lower rating I would. What kind of place purposely damages someones vechicle just so they would be forced to pay for their over-priced services. F-this place. read more

I cannot recommend Firestone for anything other than an oil change. If you have an old car, they'll take you to the shop area to show you a horrible problem on your car and quote you hundreds of dollars worth to repair the "problem". This Firestone took me to the shop area every time I visited them and it was magically something different every time. The one in Upland did the same. If you visit a Firestone, just decline when they attempt to walk you to the shop area and tell them to finish the oil change. Back in 2013 and 2014, I made the mistake of visiting this Firestone to get my rear/front brakes replaced along with a coolant flush. From the beginning the brakes made horrible noises, spinning grinding noise and squeaking. My Toyota sounded like a semitruck breaking. I went back several times to get this corrected and every time I visited Firestone they disregarded my concerns about the brakes and only resurfaced the rotors and cleaned the brakes, acting like the sound was normal. Plus, I got notified of new different hundred dollars worth of problems with my car. One visit, my rotors were out of spec $700+. Another time, the rotors must have magically fixed themselves because that problem was gone but a new problem was the brake line was detaching from the joint $1000, that's ok because next time that went away and the new problem was a hole in my tire $100. On top of that, every time I got my oil changed my tires had nails needed patching $25. How odd that no other mechanics have ever found nails in my tires, only Firestone. Lastly, I do not like the generic green coolant they use when my Toyota needs red coolant. Ever since Firestone put their green coolant, the "cool" sign lights up on my dash, this never happened with Toyota red coolant. To end this review, basically other mechanics have never found my car to have the problems Firestone found and quoted me for. My tire place never found a hole in my tire. I finally got the Firestone Warner brakes replaced at a different highly rated autoshop this April 2019 and my car no longer squeaks or grinds when breaking, thus bringing my Firestone saga to an end. Prior to replacing my brakes I complained about the Warner brakes to a different Firestone manager who told me it's normal for Toyota cars always make noise when they brake... a lie since my brakes never squeaked before Firestone and don't squeak after. Is it because I'm a woman that they thought I would agree to pay hundreds in repairs and get that condescending response? Visit Firestone at your own risk.
