I don't like writing negative reviews. And I debated whether or not I should write this one or not. But I think it's important for me to share my experience. I took my car to this firestone and while it was under their care it was stolen. They claimed the key was kept in the store but on the day I went to pick up the car the key along with my care was gone. Nothing else was stolen from eith the parking lot or from inside the store. Which means someone either went inside the store, took the key for a 2009 PT Cruiser while ignoring all other car keys available and drove off. Or one of the mechanics left my key in my car while it was in the parking lot and someone game buy and took it. The employees were very nice and I really don't blame them. Everyone makes mistakes, but I am still without a car and the best I can hope for in recompence is a couple of thousand dollars that will only cover the down pament of a new car while I get stuck with ongoing car payments. If nothing else I hope this business learns from this mistake so the same thing doesnt happen to someone else. read more

Brought my car in to have a tire plugged, and well since I was at the shop decided to get an oil change and my tires rotated. I had an appointment and all was running smoothly, having started on my car right away. After waiting for about an hour and 20 minutes the technician called me over to inform me that after taking the tire off the rim they realized that the tire could not be patched due to the location of the screw. The screw was in the middle of the tread at least 2 inches from the sidewall, so I was immediately confused. The technician said the angle of the screw would not allow the patch to lie flat and it could not be done. I asked about a plug. I was informed that Firestone no longer plugs tires. In this same conversation the technician had gave me a run down of the recommended services for my vehicle a 2008 Kia Sorrento with 82500 miles. The estimate for a new tire $163.01, along with another $1276.34 in suggested maintenance. I asked for the tire to be placed back on the car so that I could have it plugged and was told that they do not recommend having tires plugged, patching would be best. I found this funny since back in March 2014 I had a tire plugged at this same location. At this time I'm shaking my head. What should have been an easy fix was now turning into a cluster. The technician left only to return a minute later and said that the tire could not be placed on the car. Again trying to convince me I needed a new tire. I asked that the spare be put on, to which his response was, where were the tools for my spare? At this point I wanted to look at the male technician and ask how he would feel if someone treated his mother, sister, wife, or even daughter how he was treating me. I feel that Firestone and its employees were doing their best to take advantage of me this morning because I was a single female that came into the shop by myself waiting on my car to be fixed. After paying for my oil change I was able to leave and take my car to anther local shop I have used in the past for routine maintenance and pay $18 to have my tire plugged. I will never return to Firestone, Myrtle Beach and recommend that you stay away as well. For a national company I could not believe how hard they were pushing for services I did not need, nor could they do a simple fix on a tire. As I was checking out the male cashier could not or would not look me in the eye. This is not a place I felt comfortable doing business and I will not be back. read more

Even after follow-up with store manager, I was quite dissatisfied with their overall service. The manager explained in great detail,on the day of the service, what "needed"to be done. This was the same gentleman that spoke with me to "clarify" the technician was at fault for recommending the lengthy service needs.... Blah,blah. We were on vacation last week in Myrtle Beach when I got a screw in our tire. Took it here since it was close but the service guys were very pushy and had anger issues and were adamant that I had to get a new tire so to save time and aggravation since we did have to ride on the tire home I just got a new tire (even though my father in law who is a mechanic when we sent the picture of the screw in the tire said they could have plugged it). Well two days later when we prepared to leave for home (GA) our check engine light came on. Since it was a Sunday and not many places open we went back to Firestone. The service guy was different then the one I had a few days before but we was still not very friendly and wouldn't do anything but to say he could help us in several hours if we wanted to leave our vehicle with him. We explained that we had a van full of kids and were headed back home but he got a little aggressive and said there were several people in front of us (even though only one person was sitting in the lobby and it was 8:30am). So we left and drove home - thankfully the issues was just a coil that my father in law fixed within an hour when we got home. Sucky place for customer service and very angry pushy service folks. As far as my family and I are concerned we will no longer do business with Firestone. read more

On a Saturday, on vacation, they got my car in, diagnosed a leaking water pump, and fixed it in a short time, for a very reasonable price.

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. Vacationing from out of town. Had screw in tire that needed to be patched and they tried to tell me that I needed a new tire. They only wanted to take advantage of someone from out of town. read more

If you are considering having repairs on a vehicle, absolutely do yourself a favor and take it elsewhere. I had a fuel pump fail in a F150. It was towed to Firestone at 4:30 in the afternoon. No customers or repairs were occurring. I had called and the manager said no problems in getting the part and repairing immediately. All employees were watching tv in showroom when the truck and I arrived. They laughed at me when I mentioned that I was told it could be repaired by their closing time. I had called my mechanic at home and he said at "max" it would take an hour and a half, even if all went wrong. The part arrived at 5:00 pm and the technician had the fuel tank out but did not want to finish. Told me would be finished at 10:30 am. Got a hotel and arrived at 10:00 am. Is now 1:30 and still not finished. Have been told they ordered wrong fuel pump in th meantime, I have watched an hour worth of smoke breaks and extended lunch. Is categorically the absolute worst service I have ever received. Have also been told three different stories as to delay. At 56, I did not fall off the turnip truck yesterday. If you want to experience a joke in auto repair, roll the dice after reading my experience! I cannot give it one star. read more

It's not a good day when your car breaks down 500 miles from home on a Saturday. Nothing in the area was open Saturday afternoon, let alone Sunday. We were fortunate enough to find Firestone who diagnosed the problem and had us back on the road Sunday morning at 10am. Highly recommend them! read more

Don't bother, go somewhere else. Stereotypical scumbags trying to take advantage of younger kids and women who don't know much about cars. I had scheduled an appointment for just a simple oil change 1:00 pm. It was my first time going to get an oil change by myself. I was the only one there when I arrived and we were able to get started right away. After waiting about 45 minutes I went up and asked what was going on and taking so long. They then replied and said that it was taking a little extra time because they were checking other things. I was frustrated because I had not asked them to look at anything else and only do an oil change. Come 2:40 pm, I still don't have my vehicle. I went up again and clearly and openly expressed my frustration and asked again what was going on. The man replied and stumbled over his words and ended up spitting out "just a minute, let me go check real quick". Then boom, my car magically is done at that exact time. After waiting 1.4 hours FOR AN OIL CHANGE, they tried charging me $67 (keep in mind my father never paid more than $25 for previous oil changes). I was in disbelief and asked "Really? $67 for an oil change that took over an hour and a half?". He then said something about somebody must have miscalculated and then refigured the price to $51 (which is still much more than I was expecting) and starting feeding me bullshit trying to explain why the charge was so high. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Went by this place today while on vacation for a tire patch and didn't even stay. My first reaction honestly was "dang, and I thought the Dicks restaurant was down the street." The store manager seemed completely uninterested. And as a person who has managed at NTB and worked in other places like this, I was completely appalled. "There are 3 people ahead of you. It is what it is since you didn't have an appointment" is what I got when I asked for a tire patch. I wasn't worried about a wait as I am waiting now at Harry's discount tire for the tire repair where I have received excellent service and a friendly attitude from the employees. The problem I had at this Firestone location was the attitude I received from the store manager and his employees. Being on vacation, it kinda sucks for it to start out by dealing with this guys obvious attitude problem, probably because I only wanted a tire patch? read more

I have been a Firestone customer for years. Recently the reasons for my loyalty were reiterated in spades. I was on vacation from Chicago to Myrtle Beach, SC when, at Myrtle Beach, my check engine light came on. I got an almost immediate appointment to bring my car in. The techs at Myrtle Beach Firestone diagnosed the problem but they told me they could not fix the problem. However, unlike some other companies, no BS or band aids. They pointed me in the right direction for the service I needed and it was fixed the next day. Not only that, they topped off my low oil. All this at NO COST TO ME! It is refreshing to experience the integrity and customer service that we all too often are denied. Good job Myrtle Beach Firestone! read more

Dishonest. After a 45 minute wait for someone to look at a nail in my tire, I received the unfortunate bad news from their rep. I needed a new tire because the nail was in the sidewall. I asked where the sidewall was and he pointed to the first tread section in the tire. Obviously not the sidewall, but that was where the nail was. Needless to say, I left with the nail in my tire. Went to Blacks Tire and it was patched for $23 in 30 minutes. read more
