I was originally there for a brake job but ended up leaving with nothing. I left my car at 12:30 pm in the afternoon while I walked around the nearest shopping center to waste some time. I never did receive an estimated time of completion so I said that I would come back later. The shop didn't touch my car until 5:45, which was 45 minutes after I was already waiting in the shop's lobby. After checking to see what i needed fixing, they decided to tell me that they did not have a part necessary to complete the job and that I needed to leave it overnight. Wouldn't you think that would be one of the first things, as an auto mechanic, you would need to check? I wasted half of my day just to hear that I had to inconvenience myself another. If I could I would give them 0 stars, I would. I went for a regular oil change and the guy there told me I had a nail in my tire. So, I found this Firestone. I take it there and was greeted with complete sass. They guy didn't believe me when I told him I had a nail. After him laying on the ground in the rain to see if he could hear the air coming out (which he did), he finally takes me car. They said it would be done by the end of the day. It wasn't. I called back the next day and they said it was done and they patched a nail. I go to pick it up and drive it off the lot and immediately the tire pressure drops again. I call back a day later and tell them. They said bring it back with attitude like it's my fault. I had to leave work (I'm a nurse) in the middle of the day, drop it off. I got a call back and they said "looks like you have another nail". So they pathed it yet again. Fast forward a week, my electrical components in the car go whacky. You can draw your own conclusions but it's a strong coincidence that my brand new 2019 Jeep automatically stops working a week after they worked on it and I had a complaint. read more

I bought a new tire from these guys, and they notify me after 3 hours that they can't exchange the tire that day because "they are backed up." They tell me to come at 7 am to get it done. I just want to start by saying that my family and I have been happy customers of Firestone (Chicago area locations) for many years. However, my experience with the location at 3500 S. Carrolton Ave., New Orleans was far from satisfactory. I had mentioned that I was heading out on a road trip and wanted to make sure that the car was in tip top working order! After authorizing the $78 synthetic oil change, my worst nightmare came true, the manager and front desk employee tried to tell me that I needed my control arms replaced on a 2002 Benz with 48k mileage...yep, they tried to screw me with a $1014 charge, $1014...it's called fraud! Went here to get my A/C recharged. They told me they recharged it, but it wouldn't work because the compressor was bad. They wanted $1500 to fix it. I took it elsewhere for a second opinion, and they told me the compressor was fine, Firestone just overcharged it. They flushed it, refilled it, and charged me less than Firestone. It works fine now. I don't know if they're just incompetent or it was a money grab, but I wouldn't trust them with even routine maintenance on my car. read more

Stopped in because my check engine light came on and my oil light flashed. Was told I needed to leave my car there for the day. This was at 7:15 AM. I told them I was traveling and asked how long it would be before they had a chance to read the codes. I was very rudely informed they would read them but not explain or give me any other information. I also asked if someone would double check my oil level because I just got this car and I checked it and it looked very low. By the way, there were only two other cars in the garage at this time. 20 minutes later, they hand me a sheet of paper with the error codes. Didn't say one word to me. I asked the tech if he checked my oil and if it was ok. He said 'yeah'. I drove across the street to pep boys which had just opened. They checked my oil and said it didn't even show up on the dipstick it was so low. In fact, that's what the code for the check engine light indicated as well. This shop employs lazy, rude individuals. Firestone is getting a bad reputation and with shops like this I understand why. I wouldn't accept service from this business even if it was free! read more

So I noticed my tire was flat last night. I woke up at 5:30 am to change it and put on the spare, then arrived at this store at exactly 7 am when it says they open (today is a Monday). The door is locked so I sat outside for ten minutes waiting. It might be 7 in the morning, but this is New Orleans in July, so it's hot and humid. Since no one is unlocking the door for me, I give them a call. A guy answers the phone and I ask if they're open yet. His response was "not yet." That sounds pretty vague, right? So I said that I was standing outside and the hours on the door say open for 7. He says "I don't have a technician until 8." I told him that I came here when the place opened according to the internet and their door and I didn't have a ride to just drop it off. I was planning on waiting in the waiting area. I asked if he was suggesting I just come back in an hour. He said "yeah, that'd be better." Never once did he try to talk to me in person. This was all over the phone. The door of the business that was supposed to open at 7 stayed locked with me stranded outside. So I took my car to Lewis Automotive off Canal near Carrollton. I should have been tipped off to the poor service, bad timing and unreliable inventory as I was dropping my truck off and another customer was telling the manager 'yall need to get your sh!t together'... But, my work truck was in need of new ball joints and a/c, I had 2 days to spare without a truck, and its located near my house...so I let them do the diagnostic check. A couple of hours later I get a call that with the estimates, I thought they were outrageous, but that wasn't surprising. I was told they had the parts here and it would take 1 day. I thought about it, called around, and decided since I already paid the $80 for the diagnostic check and they had my truck on the lift, I let them do it. As of now, they said its going to be another COUPLE of days, as the part they had in stock is NOT in stock... So all in all, I maybe should have heeded the warnings of that other angry customer, who's car was going on 4 days overdue.... read more

We had my daughter's old car towed here. It just needed a fuel pump/filter changed but they tried tacking on other charges for a bill of $1800. Fortunately, my brother-in-law, a mechanic, called them out on this and we're getting the service done elsewhere. This place needs to be avoided and perhaps investigated. read more

Oh boy, where shall I begin? I arrived here at 8:30am. Granted, I had no appointment. I asked how long it would take for an alignment and wheel balancing. They guy at the desk (Francois) told me it would take about an hour or 2. I'm used to waiting at auto shops so I agreed. 9:30am: Not on the alignment rack 10:30am: Not on the alignment rack 11:30am: Not on the alignment rack, so I went and had lunch with my girlfriend 12:30pm: I came back from lunch and they were pulling my truck off of the rack at which point I was told by Louis (the mechanic) that I needed new ball joints and potentially new control arm. This was complete bullshit because I had just had new tie rods AND ball joints installed 6 months ago. Upon further inspection I showed him that they were new (and the receipt) and the mechanic agreed that they were in fact, new. The control arm is a different story but it is definitely not in disrepair (I have some experience in mechanical things!). He said it was making a noise upon which I watched him drive it and it made no noise at all. Anyway, he says i'm good to go and that if it continues to pull then to please bring it back and they'll throw me back on the rack right away. I drive off 12:40pm: I'm on I-10 heading home and my truck is vibrating and pulling incredibly hard. I turn around and head back to the shop. 12:52pm: I arrive back at the shop and tell the lady at the desk the situation and that I was told i'd get put back on the rack right away. I give her my key and she returns and tells me there are two other vehicles in front of me and that i'd have to wait another hour and a half. At this point i'm just like... whatever i've already wasted most of my morning here so why not. 2:30pm: That's right AN HOUR AND A HALF later I approach the lady and tell her that i'm frustrated that i've been there since 8:30am and my truck still isn't fixed and that they're making me wait more. She copped an attitude with me and then I just agreed to continue waiting. 2:45pm: Francois comes back in and shows me a print out of the alignment on my truck and that it is now "corrected". That's funny, I didn't see my truck get put back on the rack. He says it needs a "camber kit" which he'd install "at no cost" (this is pretty much just a few washers). I said sure, go ahead and install it. He says the guy who can install it is booked for the day and told me i'd have to come back another day. I'M SORRY BUT THAT IS RIDICULOUS. You make me wait 6.5 hours and then when you figure out how to correct the problem you tell me I have to COME BACK ANOTHER DAY? No thank you. The only good encounter I had was when Francois offered to refund the cost of the alignment back to me, which I accepted. I will absolutely never return to this Firestone *EVER*. One of the worst experiences i've ever had with customer service and punctuality. Absolutely horrid. DO NOT GO HERE PS. Firestone, I want the remainder of my bill ($70) refunded to me for the "balancing" which I do not believe was actually done. I made marks next to the weights on the rims and they were still there when I got home. No new weights were added and the existing weights were not moved. Had screw lodged in tire. Screw did not damage tire. Store attempted to charge for tire repair that was not done. I requested to see screw removed from tire and then told only tire pressures required adjustments. Sales person then created another invoice reflecting no charge. I don't really expect too much when I go to a repair shop, but the people here were really helpful and quick. I had been avoiding an oil change for a while and decided to pop in to see if they had an empty spot. They did and I was out of there in about 30 mins. The staff was very courteous and fun to talk to. They also seemed to be having fun with each other, which was a nice atmosphere. The staff member who helped me was Francois and he was really great - talking to me about where to go in town and things like that. Classic NOLA experience. read more

Needed to fix a flat and gave them a call. Mike answered and was both understanding and helpful... said we could be in and out in 30 minutes. Sam took care of us once we arrived - fixing our flat and checking our other tires, all in under 20 minutes for $20. Great value, great customer service! read more

Nice people but incredibly slow. Was told it would be a 1 hour wait for a new tire which then became a 2 hour wait. There is not much to do to keep yourself occupied in the wait area. Wish they would have told me how long it would actually take so I could have planned better for those 2 hours. read more

Initially, when this Firestone opened, it was OK. And since they are near my house, I used them. Well, they are not longer reliable. While they are worlds better than Pep Boys, they still have some customer service issues. I make appointments with them a week in advance. I drop my car off at 7am. 4pm rolls around and they only guy that can work on the car has come home for the day. This happens every time. read more

Car was overheating. They told me upper and lower radiator hose needed to be replaced and quoted me at $250. I was sure it was just the lower but they insisted it was both. I was broke at the time(just paid them a lot for other repair) so I didn't drive it for a month then called back when I had the money. Whoever answered the phone looked at my file and saw that only the lower hose needed to be replaced. So the first mechanic was just trying to get more money out of me eventhough he knew I didn't have it. I took it Cesars Collision and he replaced the lower for less than firestone second quote(for lower hose). read more

I was traveling from California to Georgia. On the way back I broke a shock as I pulled into New Orleans. It was late on Saturday and I thought I was stuck for a couple of days. I found Firestone on Carrollton to be open on Sunday. I called and talked to Steve, he said he could get me in on Sunday and was pretty sure he could get the part, too. I had a full size pick-up camper, which I was able to take off the truck in his parking lot and he had me back on the road in less than 2 hours and that included me unloading and loading the camper.
