I brought my truck in for an oil change several months ago. The tech said I had a blown head-gasket. So, they wouldn't do anything. I brought it to another shop (JATS) and it was just condensation. So JATS changed the oil with no problem. I just called Firestone to change my oil and the guy said I had a blown head-gasket. I told them I had another shop examine it and there was no problem. The guy at firestone refused to change it and said he wouldn't touch my truck even though I explained there is no head-gasket problem. I've come to this Firestone for a couple of years now and up until today I had a great experience. Harry helped me today and gave terrible customer service. He was incredibly rude and had helped a customer before hand as I had waited and had an appointment as well. He never helped me individually but I have seen him before, other times when my boyfriend was with me, he was nice and helpful towards him only. Today I was alone and only needed an inspection for Uber driving and was told over the phone when making the appointment not to worry and that I would be handled as well as they had all the forms necessary. After complaining to Harry he ended our interaction with saying he only had Lyft Forms and that he could tell my car would not pass inspection anyway due to my tire. I knew his integrity was faulty because I had told him at this point I was clearly upset. The staff is great other than having to work with Harry as I am a young mother yet he made me feel unimportant and a young woman with no prior experience with customer service or cars. I would not recommend seeking assistance from him if you are not with any male presence there to speak with him. I would give the location itself a 4 star review as I have memories laughing and receiving outstanding service with other staff however because it is managed by such a sexist and rude individual it has lost its value to me. read more

Kind of a short'n'sweet experience, not a large purchase at all, just a flat tire repair. Needless to say, I was there! So, here goes... Called Saturday, made appointment for Sunday. Yup, Firestone is one of the few tire places open on Sunday in my neck of the woods. Had a three o'clock appointment and arrived a bit early. I was greeted promptly and they took the car in. I was rolling out at 3:34 with a reasonable $21 bill for fixing the flat and balancing the wheel/tire. Knocked it down one star only for the showroom. I know it's just a tire shop, but it could use a bit of updating. Everything was clean, but kind of drab and weary. People all in uniform and very nice to all of the customers, but some fresh paint in current colors and updated graphics would go a long way to being a more comfortable customer environment. No issues...will definitely consider them when I need tires. read more

A couple of weeks ago I came in with a busted tire with no appointment and these guys managed to squeeze me in because one of the employees (I wish I got his name) stayed after his shift was up to fix it. I actually just came recently like literally a couple minutes ago to be told that they can't help me. Why lie to a customer and get them to come halfway across the area to be told no . I called prior just to make sure that this wouldn't happen but they said that to not worry and to make sure to come on down . They will help me out that I would have to wait a little longer . I got brushed off after to not to patch up a tire. I've gone to multiple places were at last minute they would do it because they believe and loyalty of a customer which I would've paid for an actual new tire but they didn't bother asking. Took my car for an alignment, and two of their idiot mechanics took it out for a joy ride. They lied and told me they were testing the alignment. Only problem being that neither one of those mechanics did my alignment. They treated me like an idiot because I was a woman. First off, we'd like to start with the reason this isn't a 1 star review. This Firestone is professional in their tone, and responsive on the phone. Here's what we hated: 1: You'd think for a longtime professional Tire store, they'd know the difference between a FRONT WHEE DRIVE and REAR WHEEL DRIVE. They tried to tell me I need my better tires in the back, despite my car being front wheel drive (If my front tires blow, then I have no steering, and no braking.) I knew my tread was low, and planned on replacing the tires elsewhere. I kindly asked if they could do a rotation and they refused. REFUSED. Because it wasn't in their policy to put the low tread tires in the back.... So I asked them to just do the alignment instead. 2: If someone doesn't have the money for tires, and tells you politely they do not have the funds, DO NOT try TO SELL THEM MORE TIRES. I understand completely my car needs better tires. I've had my car for 7 years I know what it needs, based of several expert mechanics and close friends with 15 years of experience. I know the tread in the front is bad, which is why you rotate them to the back. 3: For new customer's information: A rotation and alignment take 20 minutes with one guy.. I dropped my Car before the requested time by 10:30. (I was told any time before 11 is perfect) he said it could take up to a few hours. It's now almost 3 pm.... So now it feels that my words of expertise irritated the employees, and to "get back at me" decided to put my car until last. How do I know this? Because they told me that they were about to put my car on the rack at 1pm. Despite their faulty recommendations, I just asked them to skip the rotation (because I can do that myself) and just do the alignment. 2 hours later it's not done? Unbelievable. Our Dodge Derango battery needed to be replaced. AAA service was able to assist but changing the battery required a more technically skilled repaired person. Issue with the car's computer was a problem. We have a warranty with Dodge contacted their service to find out a appoint was not available for weeks. Contacted Firestone Complete Auto Care and told to bring the car in. Thier in house technician did the job with the desired results. Our car was not sidelined waiting on an appointment. THESE PEOPLE WILL SCAM YOU! I regret ever going to this place. I needed to change my brakes and rotors for my front wheels. After finishing the job, I noticed my front rotors started to rust within one week! I came back to notify them about it and they brushed me off, so I asked to speak to the manager hoping that he would be more helpful. His response was even worse than that of his employee: "Your rotors still work fine. I can't control weather conditions. Metal just rusts when it rains, that's not my fault." Not the response I hoped for. I explained that my rear rotors have been on my car for a couple of years now and there's not a spec of rust on them. If it's just a matter of weather, why wouldn't my rear ones rust too? Only cheap rotors without a weather protective coating start to rust within one week (look at the attached picture of different rotor quality). High quality rotors do not rust in one week (I'm not an expert but that's one thing I know). The ones they gave me look like trash. Even if they work fine, who wants rusted rotors on a nice car? He didn't even care to work with me at all. So after deferring all responsibility and giving me a 20 minute lesson on weather and metals, I just gave up and asked for his name/card to call the upper corporate management. Within 10 minutes after driving away, he called me and said, "I spoke to the upper management and they agreed to replace them with a higher grade rotors that won't rust." Why this couldn't have happened before the half hour of nonsense talk, I don't know. I was already frustrated but whatever, I decided to give them another chance so I turned around. To make a long story short, a couple of weeks after the "better" rotors were installed, they also rusted! My rear rotors, on the other hand, still don't have a spec of rust on them till this day. I wonder why. It's either my front rotors are driving in different weather conditions than my back rotors, or I was fooled into getting trash rotors twice. You decide. Anyways, this was a big headache! If you want cheap parts, which really don't cost any less than reliable parts by the way, then go ahead and give them your business. If they're not honest in this case, I suspect that will apply for other work they do. I can only go to people I can trust. So, I'm not going to bother with them anymore, and if you care about your time and money, you shouldn't either! read more

I showed up today at my appointment time of 11am for an alignment under Firestone's Lifetime Alignment. I'm aware that many times, theses appointments don't mean much, so I was prepared to leave my car until the end of the day. At 5:30PM, I was in my Uber heading back to Firestone, when I get a call from the manger. He says that there are 2 issues: 1. They will not be able to honor the lifetime alignment because my car is fitted with aftermarket parts. This didn't bother me too much as it is a part of Firestone's policy, however, many of the parts had been installed when I purchased the lifetime alignment and had been honored at other Firestone locations. He did give me a refund for the purchase price, so I wasn't too upset about it. 2. They didn't even touch my car until after 5PM. This means they didn't even bother looking at my car for almost 6 hours. When I got the call, the manager also said that they no longer had time in their day because my alignment was too far off. Not only did they not honor the Lifetime Alignment, they had me waste an entire day without my car because they didn't bother looking at my car for almost 6 hours. read more

This review is a extremely overdue! As I sit here doing my taxes, my Firestone bill from September 2021 crossed my desk, I remembered I still needed to write this very overdue review. So let me start at the beginning; Last Labor Day weekend, my husband, 70 pound puppy which we just adopted a few months earlier from the pound and I set off on a journey camping along the coast. It was fabulous! After so many months of lockdown it was beyond description actually enjoying the outdoors again. Sunsets on the coast, cooking with a little propane stove, taking far too many pictures of our awesome and amazing super hyper and full of love puppy dog, we were having the best time ever!! The morning of September 6, we left early to get a jump on traffic going back south to our home in the LA area, a nine hour drive was in our sights. As we were going through the pass, just a few hours from home, my air-conditioning just cut out. I immediately took the next exit off the freeway. And as expected the check engine light came on, yikes!!! It was late afternoon and I knew most mechanics would be closed for the holiday or close to ending their day. AND, of course, gas stations don't have those attached mechanics garages anymore. Yes, I know I'm dating myself but in the day, a gas station pumped gas and worked on your car. Fast forward to today, gas stations have gas and they have mini marts. I mediately pulled up Yelp to see if I could find a garage. Closed, Closed, Closed - ugh- panic started to set in - 5th call, a human answered!!!!! I was told to drop off the car and they would check it tomorrow. Now real Panic set in! Our dog eats a raw diet that I meticulously make for her. We had no more meals as we were headed home. So not only we're we going to have to find a hotel room that would allow us to have a 70 pound moose, I was going to have to figure out her meal. I mean, I couldn't blame the Firestone guys for wanting to end their day at closing time ESPECIALLY today as Labor Day weekend is know for BBQ's fun and family time! The gentleman I spoke to on the other end of the line could hear the stress in my voice. I was trying to stay calm but he could tell I was very worried. He said just bring the car in and I'll look at it. I won't close until you get here. Long story short, all the guys at the shop loved our big moose and told us stories about their dogs. They freely gave me advice on how to raise a pit mix and gave lots of recommendations of which I was extremely grateful because my last dog passed on 35 years ago. They could tell I absolutely loved this dog. She was family, not a pet. I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I was when they said they were going to take care of my car right then and there. It needed some major work, the radiator blew so they had to replace it. They had one at the fire stone across the way. These guys bent over backwards in such a way that they gave up partying with their families for a few hours longer so our dog could get home. To this day, I know they did it for our dog more than they did it for us and I am so deeply grateful. Thank you to the gentleman who gave up their time with their families for a few hours. Thank you for the gentleman who advised me on tips and tricks for my dog. Thank you to the guys at fire stone for fixing my car beautifully. I didn't realize customer service like this still existed. Here I am four months later still deeply grateful to the gentleman at Firestone, Newhall California. You set the customer service bar very high. And for that we are deeply grateful! read more

When i returned the next day, i was told that they would not like to touch the work. Luckily i took it a block down to have it done in an hour at no cost. So after wasting a half hour of my time at Pep Boys to find out it would be a 2 hour wait to patch a tire, I had given up hope. While driving home, I passed Firestone and they were open. So, I came here to have my tire patched. They have been here for a long time, right under a giant Oak tree on Lyons Ave. Somehow I never thought of calling them. All other tire shops were closed so I was glad they were open. I walked in and talked to Andre. He was on a phone call but told the caller he would call them back, he had a customer. So, at least he had a sense of urgency. He said it would be about 15 minutes to get it fixed. No problem for me. They charge $16 to patch a tire, but they really took their time with it. The tire was patched with a "plug patch" which is a "lifetime repair" according to Andre. This explains why my old tire store patched the tire in 2 minutes and sent me on my way. Anyway, after they patch the tire they balanced it. The tech then checked the air in all 4 tires. I saw the tech checking the tires treads on all 4 tires as well. I could tell they take great care in what they do. So, 15 minutes later I was on my way. Best of all the low pressure indicator in my car was off. I could now take a Monday morning flight out of town and not worry about coming home to a flat tire. They do many other services here. My experience was top notch all the way. I will keep them in mind for tires and car repairs in the future. read more

My husband had a bad experience a few years ago, we had the battery changed out thinking it was going bad, and shortly after, they informed us it was the alternator that needed to be replaced. So we paid for them to replace it. However, they put a bad part in, and it ruined the new battery, new alternator, and the air compressor. We then took the car to the dealership, and that's when they informed us the part that firestone put in was bad. My husband tried to contact the manager at firestone on Lyons. However, the manager was extremely hard to contact. He was never available when we walked in, and not in store when we called. He then would try to call us back at 5:30am, thinking we wouldn't pick up. At first, he denied a refund altogether, then stated he'd only refund the part, not the labor. He offered to fix the car if we paid again, and we stated no, it was your part that ruined the car. Eventually, we got a full refund weeks later. read more

Harry is the best! I have been coming to Firestone on lyons avenue for tires, rotations and alignments for 10 yrs.

During this pandemic, you would think your teams would be more helpful in assisting customers with 3rd party warranties, considering many have lost jobs or were furloughed and don't necessarily have $300 for tire repairs. The staff here was unwilling to make a phone call to the warranty company, so we had to have the warranty company contact Firestone. Even then, the FS employee couldn't get off the phone fast enough. For this reason and this level of customer service during a time when the world could use a little more help and understanding, I will not return nor will I recommend Firestone to anyone who asks. read more

Been using this Firestone since Saturn went out of business oh so many sad years ago. I'm on a third car since then and still use Firestone. They have always be fair in price, polite, and done a GREAT job. They never try to upsell you on unneeded service. They will let you know, "Hey, this looks like it is going to need to be done soon." But will also let you know if it's something just to keep in mind for later, and not urgent. Which I appreciate cause I can't always afford to do things right away. Last time I brought my car in cause it was making a funny noise when I ran the a/c, this was about a week after I had been in for an oil change. They called me, said they found the problem, fixed it and there would be no charge. I came to the shop expecting them to tell me they had accidentally put in an air filter upside down or something. Nope, they were all giggling and had saved the problem for me to see.... A rodent had made a NEST in my fan unit! Fortunately the rodent had decided it wasn't a good home and all that was left behind was the bedding it built. But they thanked me for the laugh, handed me my keys, and told me no charge. :-) When the kids were small we would drop it off for oil change, walk down to Cathy's for breakfast and walk back up to pick up the car so we didn't have to wait. Now that they are doing COVID precautions I don't think you can wait in store for your service, so best to have someone pick you up or walk to some place local. Me and my family where going back to Fresno from a vacation in la and unfortunately blew out our tire on our suv. Called them and spoke with Harry, which was very helpful, he let me know they did have a tire for our car and was able to get me a phone number to tow the vehicle in. TL/DR: Despite having an appointment, my car sat parked for 8 hours in their lot for them to do a 10 minute alignment job on my car, then they smudged the exterior and interior of my car, and when I got my another service done at a different place, they told me I badly needed an alignment done. I've been coming here for 6 years. My family has decided to stop bringing all of our vehicles here. Details: I made an appointment for an alignment at around 11am. They asked when I needed my car back, I told them I see you're slammed, so as soon as possible but I know it'll take a while. 4:30 pm rolls around and I know they close soon, so I call and I'm told "it's next, we'll call when it's done. Then 6pm rolls by, I call again, they told me they're sorry for the delay, they'll call me when it's done but I'm next. At 7:30, I just went there in person and saw that my car was parked where I left it. I went inside and they told me when they have walkins they don't like to say no so walk ins cause their appointments to roll back. I asked what the point of an appointment was and then I finally saw them START WORKING ON MY CAR. They kept telling me it wasn't only me, they had a lot of other vehicles on the lot from the morning, so I asked them if we should check my dash cam footage to see what cars were the same and different from 11 AM. THEN he finally apologizes, tells me "look, in the time you've spent arguing with me your car is done" so I said the. Why couldn't you have done it at 11 (my appointment time)or 12, or 1 and offers me free work on my vehicle. I told him no. He said he will do free work on family vehicles, I said no and then I see smudges on my exterior and oil on my steering wheel. I decided to leave it alone, feeling like I've argued with them enough. Then I got home and there was oil on my jacket from my cAr's seat. If they would have told me at 11am that they couldn't accommodate me, I'd have respected the honesty, but I ended up taking my vehicle for a rotating and oil change and was told my alignment was CRAZY off. The oil change/rotation shop I went to didn't do car alignments and didn't recommend a specific shop, so I don't think they'd randomly lie about my alignment. My husband and I have been here to for tire and car care several times. We always get amazing customer service from the team at Firestone! They are honest and personable and make the process very easy. I recently had a curb vs. tire incident where the curb won. I went in expecting to have to replace the tire I had just bought a few months prior from a nail vs. tire incident (I'm so lucky!). Thanks to their prior recommendation I got road hazard protection on the tire, and the tire was covered for replacement, no charge! They had me in and out and on my way in less than an hour on a weekend. I highly recommend this shop if you're in the market for tires, or car care needs. I would give this place zero stars if I could. First of all, I'm disabled and made an appointment and they have no place to wait for your car and I'm a woman. The workers tell you 3 hours for an oil change while they sit and eat ice cream but want you while handicap to wait outside. I know itS covid but you just position the chairs 6ft apart like every where else. This is the most ghetto and nasty place and I wouldnt even drop my car off there it was the last place on earth.
