This firestone by far has the worst customer service I've ever experienced at a tire shop. I go there because the quality of the tires not because of the customer service. Part of they're sales pitch is if you buy a set of tires you get free rotations. Good luck on trying to get a simple 15 min job done. Its like pulling teeth when you ask for a rotation. I've been turned down by the store manager for the last three years. Theres always the same excuse being used. Were busy, our techs are overloaded, all our appointments are booked. Today was the worst service yet. I walked in to see when they might have time to rotate my tires he said we don't. I said when can I come in he said, I don't know. I replied what does that even mean? He said our staff is overwhelmed and we don't do any appointments until Monday. I said well can I get an appointment he said no, we only take appointments Mondays. I asked if it was policy? He replied no. Then he said have a nice day when I wasn't even done speaking. I guess that meant he was done with me. I even spoke to his corporate manger that day and he was also incapable of making me a simple appointment. It took a tech to walk in and solve a simple issue. The tech understood what customer service meant. Not his supervisors wich is sad! read more

Less than one year after I replaced the brakes on my Ford Focus, the wheel bearing on my back right tire completely broke. I spent over $1,000 at Firestone to replace my brakes and still owe $1,386.91 on the credit card through Firestone. I called Harry, the manager, to make a complaint regarding the job. Harry told me that they had absolutely nothing to do with my wheel bearing breaking. However, the mechanic I bought the car off of told me the exact opposite. He said with the model of my car, it is impossible to do the rear brakes without removing the wheel bearing. I now am forced to completely redo my brakes, once again, without Firestone taking any responsibility. It is clear to me that they are completely incompetent, especially because Harry made it clear to me that the wheel bearings on a Ford Focus have nothing to do with the master cylinder when it is not true. I would give Firestone 0 stars if I could. I write this review out of pure good intention. Do not waste your time or money here. You will be disappointed and frustrated by the end result. read more

Would give less than one star if I could. Went there on Friday, January 18th to drop off my vanpool van for service for my appointment that was scheduled for Saturday, January 19th at 7AM. I walked in with all my paperwork from Enterprise RIdeshare and stood there for about 8 minutes and was never greeted or acknowledged by the staff behind the counter. I decided to leave after 10 minutes and went to Mountain View TIre and Auto just up the street. I had an appointment for noon to get my oil changed. I showed up at 11 and it's now almost 1 and they still haven't started. Service manager is dismissive of and not concerned with the fact that employees can not keep schedules. I made this appointment this morning so it's not like anything unforeseen happened in the 2 hours between I made the appointment and the time of the appointment. In June I brought in my wife's car for an alignment. Over the phone I was told it would cost $99.00. After dropping off the car they said it was going to be $300 because it's considered an exotic car. I trusted them so I agreed. When I picked up the car I was told all the components were in good condition and nothing needed to be replaced. Immediately after picking up the car I noticed that every time I made turns the front tires would lose traction and "chirp", it felt like the front end would skip. A few days later I called the store and spoke to a service advisor whom I will not name but was very nice and I was told to bring it in and they would take a look at it. When I arrived I tried to explain what was happening to the store manager Harry while making it very clear that I was happy with the work they did and I wasn't trying to say they did something wrong. I was simply trying to understand why it was doing that. Harry wouldn't even let me finish, telling me that "he didn't have time to spend 3 hours dealing with me and I need to leave and call back another day to schedule an appointment ". Also saying "rubber doesn't grow so we did nothing wrong ". One of the other service advisors stepped in and said to Harry "we can have someone go for a ride with him". After returning from the test drive the mechanic asked me to bring the car back the next day (Sunday) and Harry said to me "I don't want to come in on Monday to bad reviews". He was extremely rude and disrespectful to me. Within 3 months the outside half of both of the 1 year old front tires were completely bald with the belts showing, while the inside half still had thread. A few days ago I took the car to a different shop, bought new tires and paid for another alignment. They charged me $79.00 for the exact same alignment, not $300. When I picked up the car they told me they couldn't believe an alignment had done less than 3 months ago. That the car had excessive "toe in" and the caster was out. Now the car drives beautiful just like it's supposed to, like it did before I took it to Firestone. Needless to say I'll never go back to Firestone, which is kind of sad because I actually used to work for Firestone and always held a high opinion of the company. Not anymore. Been a loyal Firestone customer for over 20 years but twice now we have had potentially catastrophic miscommunications between their mechanics! 1- didn't tighten the lug nuts so wheel flew off as I was driving home " oh, i thought he was done with the job!" 2- didn't prep brakes after brake job, crashed my car into street sign when brakes didn't work! "The mechanic working on the car didn't tell me there had been brake work done" Both times one of the mechanics said the other mechanic didn't tell them VITAL information about the vehicle. Unacceptable. I will NEVER return there! read more

The manger is OK to work with but the woman who works at the counter is a real mess---grumpy, RUDE, unwilling to honor discounts, and completely miss-read the estimate. She was going to charge me over $400 for a $69 seal replacement. She never apologized for charging me for the wrong amount. The manager stepped in and tried to smooth it over. Horrible experience! My car broke down on I-5 and was towed here. They kept my car for 6 days only to tell me they couldn't actually fix it. Seems like they could've told me that on day 1. I also had to chain call them to figure this out -- no one called me to tell me they couldn't fix it. I've been here a few times before. I've only had good experiences with the guys that work here so I keep coming back. I've dealt with Hary in a different location before and I'm glad he's in this location now. This morning, he helped me with replacing my rear breaks & air filter and, alignment. Joseph was very nice enough to explain the before & after specs of my alignment. My truck is leveled so I know it's not gonna be perfect. I feel comfortable coming here. Do make an appointment. I had new tires put on my 2007 E-350 Mercedes, Daniel Rodriguez helped me pick out the Perfect set of tires that would fit on my special oversize Chrome Wheels, The car was finished right on time, the tires and wheels looked Perfect and the car has never rode this well. Brought my car in and they kept my vehicle for 2 days to run diagnostic tests .In the end they did not find any problems with my start ignition issue. Asked Jose to rotate the wheels and balancing before I picked up my vehicle. No problem. Got my vehicle and it was not done. Did no believe that I purchased the Hankook tires from them and when I told them that I paid for it at Canoga Location. Eventually they found my transaction and I even paid additional for hazard. They then aknowledged that I purchased from Firestone. Jose advised me it ' was bad for business' .Huh? So why did he not do it. His argument was now that they are very backlogged and could not do it. Do not believe it: They figured there is no money in it so they would not do it. Car went in clean and came out filthy. It looks like they park my vehicle in the back with saw dust and crap all over the place. My tires look terrible as if they took it off road. read more

The guys who work here are all really nice, but unfortunately, don't know what they are doing. I needed new tires, so I called in to this Firestone, put an order in for the tires I wanted, and made an appointment. They said they would have my tires in stock and ready to go for my appointment. When I showed up for my appointment, they told me they sold my tires to someone earlier that day. I had already taken off a half day of work to have this taken care of. Not wanting to waste another day dealing with it, I agreed to buy more expensive tires so I could have it done that day. I go home and wait around all day for them to finish. I get a call right before closing that they broke a stud when replacing the tires and they would need to fix it...another day of dealing with something. You would think replacing tires wouldn't cause damage to your car, but you would be wrong. I needed to wait a week for them to get the replacement part. A week later, I have them fix the part. I can tell I was no longer a priority, because I had already paid and this was on their dime, so they took all day to fix it. I come to pick it up. Driving it home, my tire pressure light comes on. I check the tire pressure and it's fine. I take it back to Firestone later that week and they tell me that this stuff happens all the time with cars, but they'll reset it. They said no way this was caused by them, even though I never had any problems with my car ever until this moment...They reset it, I drive it home, and the tire pressure light comes on again. I call back and they say there is nothing else they can do. I think they must have been really rough when replacing the tires to break a stud and the tire pressure meter. All I wanted was to buy a set of tires and be in and out in a few hours. Instead, this turned into a chore that took several weeks, and my tire pressure light is still malfunctioning. Great place! I'm a single mother that knows NOTHING about cars but our car is our lifeline. My car had too much oil, a disaster for most but Harry and team saved it and kept an eye out for other issues following this event. Knowing they are on my family's team gives me great comfort. Chris, I believe, was super cool about me showing up without an appointment and totally allowed me to use the 25% off my oil change for my TSX. Normally I go to the one in North Hollywood but I was in Santa Clarita and they gave me the cheapest estimate. I called just about every auto body shop and they quoted me from $60-$90 on an oil change. Firestone said $59 and I got to use the 25%. Helpful hint..look online for coupons before you go in. The staff was very personable although it does get boring there. There is nothing exciting around so be prepared to share a small waiting area with strangers. read more

I have been going to different Firestone locations for years and this location lives up to my great experience at the others. I have dealt with maybe 4 different staff members at the Newhall location on Lyons and they have all demonstrated superior customer service. Most recently, I took my car in for an oil change and they told me I needed front brake pads. After a week, they were making a LOT of noise so I brought my car back in. They replaced the pads again with better ones at no cost to me. I also appreciated that they were patient to show me things underneath my car while it was raised. The Toyota dealership told me I had an oil leak and was going to charge me over $1000 to fix it. Firestone says: there's no leak! I really trust Firestone and don't believe they are going to BS me. (Ain't nobody got time for that!) The care these guys take to make sure I'm happy couldn't be better. Very grateful this shop is near my house in Newhall! read more

We had a huge bolt sticking out the side of our tire while working out of town in Newhall, Ca. This location was close so we stoped by to see if they had the speciality tire we needed, they did . Ray was friendly and very helpful. It was 20 minutes to closing time but they took us in and helped us in our time of need. Christian was our tech and he was friendly and helpful too. We had gotten our only 2 month old New tires from tire rack when this incident happened and they honored Tire Racks road side assistance. We would definitely go to this location again if we are in the area. read more

Was in here about a week ago to get an oil change on my fiat 500 and had several problems with this place: first, after I drove home from the shop I noticed large spots of oil leading up to my now parked car, then after taking a look under the car I find that the entire floor pan is dripping oil from bumper to bumper. After revisiting them, they tell me that they didn't screw on the oil filter properly which lead to the massive leak. This lead me to double check some of their complimentary services that are included with the oil change such as the window washer fluid which was checked and found to be full on their report but was in fact empty and when confronted about this, was told it was overlooked and now topped off the second time, but it appears to be pretty much just water. Overall the face to face service was good and hopefully this was just a one off or someone having an off day working the shop but I do recommend double checking their work before accepting your car back. read more

This place has terrible service. I made an appointment at 2pm to get an oil change and tire rotation. They told me it would be done by 6pm. Takes them 4hours to do an oil change. Ridiculous!! When I showed up to pick up my truck they still hadn't gotten to it. I asked why and they really couldn't give me an answer except that they overbooked there appointments. They wanted to charge $130 more than 3 other places I called and their hourly labor is way more than other spots. The place is convenient to get work done but I would recommend calling other spots. Also, I asked to buy my own parts and they said they couldn't. Find you a spot that will Let you use your own parts to cut the cost. read more

I bought new tires from Tire Rack - and this Firestone location was one of their recommended installers. The tires were shipped directly to this store and I made an appointment to come in to have them put on my car. Harry treated me so nicely - he was super easy to talk to and acted as if I had bought the tires and wheels from Firestone /them instead of their just doing the install. He explained differences in valve stems - talked to me about the alignment process and reviewed the warranty for it and the before and after sheet with me - did not upsell or pressure me to do any other maintenance to the car (it was current on everything). The store stuck to the quote that was on the Tire Rack site for balancing and everything else that has to be done when installing new tires - very honest and nothing sneaked in on the fly like can happen sometimes with online quotes. Harry had given me an idea of how long it would take to finish everything and I just cruised in the waiting area while they were working. They finished a bit sooner than I expected and Harry took time to show me the old tires afterward too. I would return here in a second based on my experience here the first time - thank you to everyone I met for making me feel so welcome and for taking such great care of the car. read more

My car had a coolant leak, I towed my car on a Sunday to the Firestone and the Manager Harry was absolutely great! He advised me that since my vehicle has 30,000 miles that I should check if the warranty covers the repairs before I have him look into the issue. He allowed me to leave my vehicle over night so I can call my warranty the next day. The next day I found out that my warranty only covered a bad water pump so I asked Harry if they can check what is causing the coolant leak and he was able to verify that it was a bad water pump, and when I asked him how much I owed him he told me not to worry about it. Nowadays you don't meet honest people like Harry that often and yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting him, I recommend this Firestone to anyone that might need help fixing any issues with their vehicles, they won't be disappointed! read more

I have a 8:30 am appointment with Firestone to do an oil change and tire rotation. Ricardo checked me in and didn't tell me how long the service will take. Around 3 pm I called to follow up on my car and they said that it wasn't done yet but will be done before the end of the day. Around 5:30 pm I called again since they are closing at 6:00 pm. The guy who answered the phone said "We will call you when it's done". I told him that I brought the car at 8:00 am and asked them why it's not done yet. He raised his voice and irritatedly answered "We will call you when it's done ok?" without giving any valid explanation. So I patiently waited again thinking they might finish it by 6:00 pm but I never got any call from them. Unfortunately I had to cancel an important event that I had to go to that night since I didn't have my car. The next day Sunday, I didn't receive any call from them. At 3:30 pm I called them to follow up on my car. The guy that I talked to said that there are still 2 cars ahead of my car. Since they are closing at 5:00 pm and didn't assure me that they can finish the job before they close, I told them that I'll just pick up my car since I need it for work tomorrow. When I got there, Ricardo handed the keys without apologizing for the inconvenience that they created or didn't even bothered to explained why there is so much delay on their service. Very poor customer service. They could have told me from the beginning that they are short staffed and it will take 2 days for the service so that I could have went to the dealership instead. I wonder how this store is still in business with this kind of customer service. I wouldn't recommend going to this store. It's not worth the $20 that you will save compared to going to the dealership. Even though the dealership is a bit more pricey, at least they have a shuttle service, waiting area, free coffee and donuts, they are respectful of your time and they won't let you wait 2 days for an oil change. read more

We were traveling from El Monte, CA and we found out we had a nail in our tire. We went to a local Pep boys and got the worst run around for customer service. We left and tried to find anyone else we could find and through our travels back home we ended up at this place. Had a starter put in over a year ago. Last month my car started making noise when I started it. It was intermittent but it was getting worse. Went in and spoke to the manager named Joe Lopez. He was so accommodating I couldn't believe it. He told me to leave the vehicle overnight so they could start in the morning and listen for the problem.
