My drive home in the rain seemed dim, so when I checked the passenger headlight, the fog was blown. I took my car to Firestone for having both replaced. They quickly replaced my passenger, fog, and license plate bulb light which were all out. There was a coupon offer added to this service without me having to ask for one. Overall good service here as usual. I consider Firestone to be a trusted mechanic as I have had family members employed at other Firestone locations. Today was my first interaction with this particular Firestone store, and I was expecting to spend $1,000 or more. After all, my friendly neighborhood Kia dealer told me I needed new tires and probably new rear brakes. Of course, dealer prices are through the roof, so I went to Firestone to get a second opinion. If they had agreed with the dealership, I'd have let them do the work in hopes of getting a better price. Grand total spent? $0. I know nothing about cars, and it probably shows. So they could have easily recommended lots of repair work that I probably would've agreed to. But they told me the truth--my tires and brakes are fine for now. And I really appreciated the honesty and courtesy. So will I go back to them when things do need fixing? Absolutely. It's hard to find an honest repair shop. I'm glad I found one. read more

Rude treatment this morning from Joshua. I had an appointment yesterday at 4pm and agreed per manager request to come back this morning to get my AC recharge, he guaranteed i would be taken care of. Joshua checked me in then came back and advised i had a leak I advised him to add dye and Freon i after speaking with my mechanic this got changed so i asked him to hold on the work until i understood what he wanted me to do and he became rude and said that since i initially said not to do it here are my keys. I was like no he just said for me to let you guys do the work and he will figure out the leak contacted the mechanic that did my install. I got there at 7:15 being that i was promised i would be taken care of the next morning i asked him can he get me out by at least 8:15. They did not get to my car until 7:45., I'm disappointed in the rudeness and the service I would not recommend anyone to go there. I forego my appt the day before at 4pm because they wanted to leave by 5pm plus he said he let someone go home early to come in the next morning to someone who didn't know i was coming and was rude told me he didn't care what i wanted even though i told him no not to do any work to my car until i speak with my mechanic who heard him being rude to me. Joshua said you wanted your car by 8:15 so no we can't do it, that was just a request from me so that they can get me out out as early as they can being that this is my second trip back here. This negative review is long overdue. I have been a Firestone customer for over 20 years. The last time I had my vehicle In was for a coolant light. At first, they couldn't figure out the problem and then they told me the delay was because the Dealer wouldn't get the part to them. So after a full week of my vehicle in their possession with no work being done I decided to take my wife's car to the dealer and pick up said part myself and pay for it then I brought it to Firestone to have it put in the vehicle. The Manager Scott has been there for a little over a year now and he is not usually in the best of moods and generally huffy and puffy and blaming someone else. And I mean always. The real reason I'm leaving this review today is because I dropped my vehicle off at 9am as a walk in for an oil change and again Scott said he could get me in. I knew I was a walk in but I had a full work day and was ready to leave my vehicle for the day. He asked what time I needed back by and I said 4pm. He even asked if I wanted my lifetime alignment done and I said yes. I returned at 6pm although they did not call me. And guess what, Scott said they never got to my vehicle can I come back tomorrow. I have had 4 vehicles in my lifetime and every one of them has been serviced by Firestone. My experience at this location is not what I'm used to with this company and I am shocked that they have the management that they do have at this location. I have also noticed a high amount of turnover within the last year and a half and I definitely believe it has to do with management. I couldn't be more disappointed especially before I have always been taken care of in the past. But these last two years have been horrible to say the least. To corporate at Firestone. I'd always thought of Firestone for tires only, but when I suddenly needed a new battery on a Friday afternoon and my dealer service was booked, I made an appointment here. Kai was extremely helpful when the mechanics discovered the battery terminals were corroded so the old battery could not be removed. Kai quickly put in an order for the somewhat obscure parts which were amazingly delivered the next afternoon. My old battery had been charged so I made it back to complete the job by 4:30 pm Saturday. It took only 24 hours and my dealer had told me those parts were back ordered for my model so could have taken weeks! read more

I took my car here to get two of my brake pads and rotors replaced after experiencing a grinding sound when I was braking. I paid almost $800 to have this done. When I was almost home, I noticed that my brakes were squealing and making a horrible sound every time I turned. I took my car back the next day, only to have them try to charge me $100 to see what was wrong with it. After refusing to spend another penny, one of the workers told me that they "re-did the brake job" and that everything is fine now. The next day, my brakes were still squealing and making the sound when I turned - which they continued to do every day after. Apparently, I paid $800 for my car to get worse. I will NEVER return here. Also, I was extremely offended by the manager's behavior. While I was looking over the estimate when I was originally in the shop, the manager tried to "explain" why the service was so expensive. To do this, he used a metaphor about shopping, I suppose this was because I am a female and all I know about is shopping. He said, "it's like when you go shopping for shoes, you're going to pay more for designer shoes." As if I, as not only a college graduate but also a law school graduate, did not understand the concept of high quality products being more expensive than low quality products. I brought my car here for repair. RIPOFF! I told them I had a P0303 Error code (which is a misfire on the third cylinder) needing a replacement of the ignition coil on the third cylinder (I used to be in the industry). Easy enough right, ....WRONG. They called and gave me an estimate $238. Okay when I went to pick up my car my bill was $377. I complained," That is not what I was quoted "the extra charge was for diagnostics, to tell me it was error code P0303! WTF, they charged me for what I knew was wrong (and told them). Great place. Went in for oil change and was told my tires were worn down. I knew I probably needed new tires. They took me out to show me the tires with cracks in them. They didn't want me thinking they were making it up to make me spend money and they helped me pick out affordable tires even if it meant them having to run out to another store to pick them up. Originally I requested an alignment as well cause my car was pulling to the left. After they replaced the tires they told me it fixed the alignment and they took the charge off. I'd been going to this Firestone for almost 17 years and always got good customer service and good work done. However, since the previous manager, Paul, retired, the quality of customer service has drastically PLUMMETED. For example, no one ever answers the phone and it rings so long the system kicks me out and I have to have to call back multiple times before I'm even put on hold. Then, I'm on hold for, a minimum, of over 20 minutes. Furthermore, they don't call when the car is ready to let me know it's ready. Repairs take way longer than they should, and it seems there's a serious shortage of up front staff and also of mechanics. I not only am taking my business elsewhere, but I am letting all my friends know to find somewhere else to get their oil changed, have repairs done, get their cars inspected, etc. read more

I made an appointment for a Saturday repair. The vehicle was there at 8AM. I called at 12 to see what the stratus was. I was told it was next in line. Around 2 they called telling me what was needed. I approved it and they said they would get it done. At 5:30 I called and was told it would be tomorrow at 10 before it was ready. I came to pick it up at at 10 on Sunday. The vehicle was not ready and they claimed they just got the parts. Said it would be another hour and a half. Still waiting. 1. Lack of communication with the store. 2. If you don't stay and wait for the vehicle they keeping bumping you to the back while they take care of walk ins. 3. Making an appointment is useless. read more

My go to spot for car maintenance. I go here for oil changes, lifetime wheel alignments, and tire rotations. It usually takes about an hour to get the things I need done over a visit - oil change and tire rotation. They are also really good at notifying you of other things that may need attention on your vehicle. They have a waiting area and WiFi but I prefer to walk to one of the neighboring restaurants and grab a drink or a bite to eat like Hooters, TGIFridays, or Bojangles. read more

The firestone on wake forest rd was able to get my car in for an overdue oil change despite a hectic schedule when another nearby location would not fit me in. Paul informed me that it would be a 2 hour wait but he could do it. I was impressed by his ability to organize and manage the services so that everything went as smoothly and efficiently as possible. He demonstrated superior knowledge and ability to multitask all while being very obliging to his customers. This location seemed to have a more positive attitude amongst all of the workers and I am sure it is because of Paul. I think he deserves an award to say the least. read more

Nice they are open Sunday's to hep with repairs. Unfortunately, like any car repair place they try to sell you on everything that maybe wrong with your car, but not what is a priority to repair. As I female I HATE going to a place that is pushy and not honest about what is a priority to repair!! Also, pushy about their credit card! NO I do not want your credit card. I also, had to buy a new caliper during my brake repair because they couldn't get it to close to release the fluid. I think that was lie b/c that caliper wasn't purchased through them. I really feel like they were taking advantage of me and my time. UPDATE: 5 days after service. DO NOT COME HERE. I had a minor known exhausted leak before having my car serviced. 5 days later it is soo loud. I feel like they placed holes in the and unscrewed a fr bolts to have the metal rattle against each other. SO upset, but this isn't something they repair! read more

This location has repeatedly and clearly not fixed my car. I will continue to leave terrible reviews on every website I can and I will be happy to remove the reviews when they finally fix my car. I've spent over a thousand dollars and missed work the past two months for problems that could have been from the main issue they have repeatedly and admittedly not remedied every time I've gone in. I feel entrapped by one issue with the car that they repeatedly commit to fixing under the Firestone warranty and repeatedly don't fix because at this point I can't afford to get it fixed anywhere. Meh. I do love that they are open on Sundays and I have their credit card so I can pay off big repairs over 6 months with no interest. Now, to what I don't like: Several years ago, I brought my car in because it was leaking water from underneath. I took it in and said I thought it was there might be some issue with the water pump. Keep in mind I'm not a car person and only go with my gut and what I've experienced before. They charged me for a diagnostic test and then called me to say they couldn't find a problem in the testing. My response was: Did. You. Actually. Look. Under. The. Car. After that, they then said "oh yeah, that looks like the water pump" Once I helped them diagnose the problem, they fixed the car right up. Now to the other night. This same car now belongs to my daughter who has been driving all of 5 months. The car died and we had it towed there and told them I believed it was the alternator based on the lights dimming after I was able to get the car started and then the car died again. They said the alternator looked fine and diagnosed it as a bad battery, they replaced it and sent us on our way. The very next day, the car died again and I had it towed back there. I insisted that I believed the problem was the alternator. Guess who was right?? I will give them credit for replacing the battery again at no charge along with the alternator - considering they replaced it just the day before and it wouldn't have gone bad if they'd believed me about the alternator in the first place. While I do wonder about the original battery, I will admit that I don't know enough about cars to know whether we even needed to replace the original battery if they had replaced the alternator at the start so I won't make any accusations of selling me unnecessary repairs. They are good about making the repairs once they can figure out what's wrong with the car and I don't believe they are crooked or trying to scam anyone; it's the diagnostic abilities that I question. read more

I came to Firestone this afternoon after going to a dealership a few days ago and being told I needed $1500 worth of work to my car. I called before coming in, to see if they could do the services I needed (brake fluid exchange, wheel alignment, belts). The dealership also told me I needed 2 new tires. I believe Paul answered the phone, and after trying to talk through things, I offered to come in because I live down the street, and he told me to come by and he'd look at my car. After looking at it, he told me the belts didn't need to be replaced ($500 saved), that I didn't need 2 tires, just 1 ($200 saved) and that they could do 1 new tire, a wheel alignment, and brake fluid exchange right then and there. It was pretty crowded, but they were able to fix everything in about 3 hours. Everyone was so nice and Paul actually walked me through what they were going to do to my car, instead of just saying I needed things I'd never heard of. He even explained tire tread to me and why I didn't need 2 tires. I really appreciated his help and kindness, especially since car repairs can be expensive and stressful. I'll definitely be coming back for regular maintenance and future repairs. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Made an appointment on Friday for Saturday at 1pm. I received a confirmation text the morning of the appointment. I take my vehicle to Firestone and the woman tells me that she never ordered my tires so I needed to come back. We made an appointment at 1 on Monday. I asked if I was able to pick me car up between 6:30-7 pm since their posted hours showed that they would be closing at 7. They informed me that their shop men didn't want to stay late tonight so they would be closing early at 6. I wasn't able to pick up my car until 6:30, so they told me that I needed to come on Tuesday morning to pick my car up. When I went to pick my vehicle up, it was in the parking lot with the windows down. It was evident that Firestone neglected to put my windows up the night before. As a result, my bag was stolen out of my vehicle. 0/10 customer service from the tire manager, Hannah, when dealing with this situation as well. Follow up to previous post on 06/29/22. Went to pick up the car after instructing Manager to let me know exactly how much oil had to be put back in so I can gauge if there was any left in the car at all. I was told they did a complete oil change instead. I asked how much oil was drained out and was told "a good bit"? After I got to my car I popped the hood to make sure they cleaned up the oil mess and while some was cleaned there was still a lot left especially on top of the radiator and the hood prop was still soaked. I went in and asked for some towels and told them why I needed them. The manager came out and was helping me and said " you have to expect some leftover oil after what happened". I should have said I should never have to expect what happened to happen. I said nothing and left. In addition thru the entire process not one Manager apologized at any point and I had a feeling this is something they had gone thru before by their casual attitude towards the situation. read more

they don't even get a one star. took my lexus here for oil change, tire rotation, alignment. said they couldn't do alignment because tie rods were rusted, plus said i needed an air filter for 60 bucks. i spent 220 bucks total getting this done including 20 bucks to attempt an alignment. the tie rods i needed they say would cost 450.00. guess what!!! i knew they were some bullshit, took it to tilden auto care, got alignment for 64.00, and tie rods are fine. do not take your car here. unless you like throwing away money. this company should be ashamed themselves. I went in today to have a new tire put in my car. My vehicle was done for a while but no one even came to me to let me know. I pay for the tire and leave, but when I got home to look at it more closely I noticed there was a huge scratch on the rim. It wasn't there before the tire was replaced, and that's a fact. I immediately went back to show them, and the store manager insinuated that i "hit a curb". I knew that would happen. Obviously whoever put the tire on knew what they did and chose to not say anything. I was told to take it to a rim shop they work with to have it repaired, but that means I'll lose time and money simply because of their mistake. I do not recommend this place. Took my brand new Mazda cx-5 in for it's first oil change in Late April. Because I only live less than 2 miles away and we have another car it is not used much. However my wife had to take it for an appointment about 20-25 miles away and on the way home the check engine light came on. She also said when she pulled in there was smoke from under the hood. Upon checking I immediately noticed that the dipstick was lying right atop the radiator. Some tech named Sergio forgot to put it back in!! In addition to the smoke there is oil ALL OVER THE ENGINE! I immediately called Firestone, spoke to a female employee around 6 p.m. who said they were sending a tow truck for the car. No apology, just that they were sending the truck. 90 minutes later she called back, said she forgot and they would send it this morning. I will follow up once we figure out how much damage it caused and what Firestone is going to do to fix this. read more

I have taken two cars to this location over the years because you can get in and out quickly. Oil changes, tire rotations, brake service and general maintenance has been the bulk of these visits. However, my last visit turned me off and they lost a long time customer. My tire rotation was done improperly and I had to take it back which was a major pain in the ass. They also installed a new alternator which was faulty and had to replaced while I was out of town on vacation. They paid for the tow and $40 of labor which I thought was weak. Auto maintenance is all about trust and if you read this I advise you think twice before taking your car to this place. read more

They also honestly charge for the exact amount of labor involved, which could be a short inspection. They don't rip you off, upsell, or try to suggest more fixes than needed. The professionalism with which the owner/ managers at the front I have been met with is always first class. The job gets done within two to three hours MAX and they are open on Sundays! They have been the light at the end of my tunnel the past few visits. And not to mention, every time I come, there are more and more customers coming in for service. Came here once a few months ago and got an honest response about what might be wrong with my car- was told to take it to Honda itself as they weren't totally sure what was wrong which I appreciated. Decided I would try firestone again when three dashboard maintenance lights came on and the car ran horribly. I thought I was getting great service as they stayed open an hour later for me to pick up my car after work (I'm a nurse and get home after 8pm) and gave me a description over the phone of what they thought was wrong while I was at work. Was told the car was just low on oil (although no oil light was on) - however was also told I still needed to pay the $115 check engine fee. Spent $160 basically for an oil change - for the car to then continue giving me the same problem I brought it in for the very next day. The car ended up getting towed from work and I had it sent to a Honda dealership who needed a week to fix the problem. Was issued no refund when the problem was never fixed in the first place.
