I bought a new (used) car just this week, and drove over a screw that was borderline on the side. My husband took it to our local discount tire store to see if it could possibly be fixed. He said no, and recommended Firestone since they sell Bridgestone tires (the tires on my car). I made an appointment online, and took it down a couple hours later. Kristen gave me the option of 3 different tires, with the one matching my car's tires being the most expensive, but she explained that my tires were really top quality (with the best warranty), but also emphasized it was up to me. (Something my previous European car service place never did.) My tires look to be new, but I was worried I'd be pressured to get two tires, as is often the case. She didn't do that, so I chose the matching tire. I am still bummed I needed a new tire within days of getting my car, but am super happy to have found a good location for service. They installed my back tire incorrectly. I'm lucky it didn't pop when I was driving because I had zero idea for weeks that my tire was installed incorrectly and leaking air. It looked like it was completely detached from the rim. This location also tried ripping me off and telling me my front brakes and rotors were going to be $800 to replace. I requested an appointment for an alignment early in the morning and received confirmation not too long after. The process was smooth and Loc was able to help me out when I arrived. When my vehicle was ready, staff gave me a call that my alignment was completed. Loc explained all the calibrations and what was done to the vehicle. I had to write a review after the service I received today! This is the second time coming to this Firestone and it was much better experience than my first time. I came here the beginning of the month with a scheduled appt and wasn't able to pick up my car til 3 hours later. All I had done was an oil change and car inspection. It was extremely frustrating but I decided to give them another chance. Today, I went in for my scheduled appt. to get my rotors looked at due to my wheel shaking while breaking. Ken took the time out to throughly explain what may be going on and how they will address the problem. I was in and out within 1.5 hours. Brought my car in for check engine light A/C service, and 30 days later - no functioning A/C. I contacted their customer service and assured "someone in senior management will get back to you in 48 hrs. No response. Returned the vehicle today for warranty re work and the cause identified as "the A/C valves were leaking and all the Freon had leaked out" Asked why this was not checked prior to releasing the vehicle last time, I was told the "it was a slow leak...and it happens sometimes" Totally unsatifactory answer. In the waiting area, there is a display of ASE certifications for personnel and associated specialties of repair. The individual who worked on my care had a certification for Heating - A/C. this certification expired 31Dec. 2020. I came in this morning for a flat tire. When I asked a clarifying question, the front desk staff immediately assumed I couldn't understand English and brought out a Chinese-speaking employee without even checking if that was necessary. I genuinely appreciated speaking with Ivan, who was kind, clear, and respectful. But the way this was handled by the front desk was not okay. Here's the issue: -I asked one follow-up question. Instead of offering a proper explanation, the front desk staff jumped to blaming a "language barrier" rather than taking responsibility for unclear communication. -Bringing out a Chinese employee might look like "helping," but it felt more like avoiding accountability - shifting the burden to someone else based on my appearance. -Making that decision without asking me first reduced me to a label, instead of treating me as a full individual. That's not service. That's avoidance. And frankly, it's lazy. He didn't even meet the minimum standard of professional communication: listening, slowing down, and making sure I understood. I walked out feeling disrespected and frustrated, not because of language, but because of the assumption behind it. This kind of behavior reflects deeper issues in training and awareness. I wish I could give this Firestone location 10 Stars! I was in Sacramento just for the weekend and got a flat tire. I called Jacob (somewhat panicked) because not everyone stocks Tesla tires. He searched and yay, they had one in stock. I had the car towed to them. Jacob greeted me and assured me that they would take care of me and my car. Right at 8Am I want to Pep Boys on Stockton blvd. inside 2 worker was on the phone I can hear them talking about the price quote was quoted wrong & seen like the worker looked stress out so I just left and went to Firestone. I gave it 5+ star. I needed my HONDA CR-V CONTROL ARM AND BALL REMOVE & REPLACE R CONTROL ARM. The lady at the front desk was very respectful and knowledgeable. While I was waiting for the service to be done. A customer he did not speak any English needed his tires replace. I can see and hear the lady at the front desk was very polite and used the google translate to communicate with him. I was at wow! I do not see such a great customer service for a while. These guys did the best alignment work yet! I'm an auto enthusiast with a certified 2012 toyota that has had minor driving straight issues since I got it. I learned a lot from this car. The rear suspension and god knows what else has some impossible to see damage that combine to give the car issues in driving 100% straight, increase tire wear, and maybe one other thing. I'm not a mechanic but have worked with several and had mutiple alignments and even a frame pull. Only these guys made the car drive straight as it ever will:) It's even holding up 15000 miles later! The $110 surprise! These guys treated me pretty well on a set of tires. Then again on an oil change. So when I had a check engine light I took the car in. I have an OBD (On Board Diagnostic) reader so I knew what the problem was and had researched the fix for it. An hour labor and a $70 part. I know they have to make money so I was expecting a little bit of mark-up on the part, but not $200. Then they showed me the part. It came as an assembly with some hoses and stuff attached. OK, no harm, no foul. The estimate was $370 to fix the check engine light, but they said there was another problem. A problem the OBD did not reflect. A fuel pressure sensor that would be nearly $500 more to replace. I told them to just fix the check engine light and they claimed that if I didn't replace the fuel pressure sensor, the check engine light would stay on. We'll see about that. When I checked out they added another $110 to the bill for a diagnostic. Most shops toss the diagnostic in for free if you let them do the work. Not these guys. I'm going to be back as often as possible for my lifetime tire, rotation and wheel balancing. But these guys better not hold their breath waiting for me to spend another dime on service! read more

I went in for a routine oil change midday, and it took over an hour before they even started work on my car. Then I got the inspection report, which was quite the eye-opener. Among the MANY items they claimed "Need Attention" were the tires and alignment, and the reason was listed as "Technician Recommended Based On Experience." Well, I just got four brand new tires and my alignment done 11 days prior, so clearly that was BS. When I contacted them to let them know it wasn't a good look, the customer service rep said that they always recommend these services and was adamant that there was nothing disingenuous about listing it as needing attention based on technician's experience. She said it's Firestone policy to always include tire and alignment services (and probably a bunch of other items on the "Need Attention" list that I didn't get into with her) because they wouldn't know whether it was needed until they did an inspection. Um, does that make sense to anyone out there? How can a service be needed based on a technician's experience if they never inspected the issue in the first place? The language they use is so deceptive, and the customer service rep was unable to understand how I could conclude that and got pretty irate that I would claim such a thing. Horrible service, I came in for a simple oil change, which was going to be around $60. During the service, they explained to me that they had to remove my old adapter and replace it because the screw was not holding up anymore. Prior to my visit, everything was fine. I had zero leakage of oil, and my car was running great. I left paying $714 after my visit. They did not let me leave without the extra service and demanded me that if I planned to deny the service, they would call a tow truck. Very unprofessional, will never come here again. How do they expect a customer to have that kind of money when they just planned to come in for a simple oil change. What boiled my blood even more was that a customer that came in the same time as me also had the same issue to her car. They are just trying to rob us at this point. The calm in my calamity. Big shout out to Ken at this location. He answered the phone four minutes before they were scheduled to be open. I needed to plan and figure out how to get my car to their facility, plus which tire(s) to order, all on no notice. Stress was abundant, but he was calm and collected and made sure to take care of me and my car. Once I had the car towed to their store, he did a full exam of the situation and walked me through all of my options. I appreciated he was fully transparent with the costs, fees, and what I could decline if I wanted too. He also scolded me and said he'd walk me through how to properly take care of my tires. After I decided which brand and tires to purchase, he made the process very effortlessly. I left to finally head back to work. I was impatient and called him to see when my car would be ready later that day and he gave me an estimated time of 4:30 PM. The tires were on the first run order, but it arrived later than expected, so they got a later start. I arrived at 4:30 PM, but the tech was still working on the car. I was out the door by 4:45 PM. Ken had already gone home, so I didn't get the details of what I should do to maintain the car, but the new employee did walk me through the basics, which I should know already, but it was a nice refresher. This was an expense I wasn't looking to have, but this shop made it bearable and helped me through the process. It's not the best neighborhood, but their service was awesome and I'd go back here again in a heartbeat. I have NO idea about any other services, but order, buying, installing, and aligning tires is something that I experience. All of which were awesome. I have been going to Firestone for 8 year's now, and have never left a review, until now. The Stockton Blvd store is only run well when, Ken, the manager is there. When Ken, is not there the only kind of service I received was down right rude! The 2 ladies at the front, that I watched Ken himself train, are the rudest, and most unhelpful service writer's I have ever seen and I worked in the automotive field for over 20 years, so I actually do know a thing or two about vehicles, but more about how you treat people. Every time I have stepped foot in that store I felt like I was just bothering them, and felt like my car, or my money was not important. The last straw? I had set up an appointment almost a whole week in advance, but I get a call one day before my appointment and I am told there are 8, 8am appointments and only 2 techs so it'll be 6 or 7 hour's for an oil change! I know the stores have to approve appointment's made online, so there is no excuse for there error's. 6 or 7 hour's?! Nowhere on earth does an oil change take that long. But, this is not the whole point. Keep being rude and disrespectful to customers and lose them, period. I will not return to the Stockton Blvd store ever, and I've known Ken for 8 year's, so I am really disappointed in the customer care. I was in there yesterday to have my tires rotated. For $10 I could get an evaluation of what I needed for my car. So I did that. Come to find out I could of gotten the rotation for free, because they did my tires. But I wasn't told that and they made me think that this $10 was a great deal. They took my car in and the woman told me I had this long list of things I needed now. I don't have the money and told her. She wasn't happy with me obviously. She was gone when my car was done but I asked the gentleman what on the list needed to be done first. He told me that the car is 23 years old and these things will need to be fixed but NOT NOW! I needed a flat repair on a Sunday. My usual place is closed, so I went to Firestone, and am glad I did. They did a good job on the repair (I used to have a tire shop), and charged a reasonable $15 to replace the tire pressure chip. I was also very happy that the $20 charge included a spin balance. That is a great deal. Most places re-mount the tire in the same position, so the balance will be close, but this is much better. That's a $25 service. The lady in charge was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and a nice upgrade from the usual tattooed, burly tire guy behind a tire counter. No offense, I used to be one! (Less the tattoos.) The waiting room was comfortable, with several comfortable chairs. read more

Tire blew out while I was in Oregon and had to go to Firestone. Firestone in Oregon did not balance tires correct. Had to have it redone. STAY AWAY! The manager tried to manipulate me into $2,250 worth of service and a Firestone credit card. All while I sat in that store for 6 HOURS because he refused to call my breathalyzer company and get the mechanic code to turn off the device. I asked why- he said "I'm not staying on hold for THAT, it's easier for me if you people just wait here while we work". I had an appointment at 10am, they didn't start my car until 11, and didn't finish until almost 3. So I spent all this time while he was talking down to me about my breathalyzer- "I hope you learned your lesson" -and tried to scare me into thousands of dollars of debt. read more
