Jaime's way of speaking to me was disrespectful and condescending. I called him out on it and asked him to de- escalate and chill but he continued and obviously wanted the last word. I told him his customer service was horrible and that he was a fake and a liar then he threatened to call the police because I was having a conversation with him where he could not handle the criticism. I told him to take my car down of the lift and I then asked for a manager. He said he was the manager with a big grin on his face and I told him I wanted his boss and he said there was no one higher in authority in the building than himself, he told me to find the regional telephone number on line. Then he proceeded to call his boss from the back, Joshua who came out listened to me did not comment did not say one word and did not apologize did not inquire on how he could rectify the situation in order to keep my business. I had 2 nails in my tire. the men working told me that they can't patch up the two nails and I'd need to buy a whole new tire and that I would actually need all 4 new tires. I knew they were bullshitting me so I took my business else where. The garage I brought my car to was able to patch up the holes in my tire no problem. I don't know the names but both the guys at the front desk were very rude and disrespectful, when the inspection was finally over one of the guys said that he was doing me a. favor by doing it so quickly. I am been a customer since 2015. But I am not going to come back after this bad experience. I feel I am ripped off. I was given the impression that critical safety related items needed to be addressed. It is the sensor on one of the tires. I ended up paying to replace that tire. Plus the "warranty" thing, which I explicitly said no multiple times before, is eventually on my receipt this time. Oh, yeah, you guys are successful! Also, the wipers were replaced. And some filter were replaced too. Are these are critical safety items? I don't think so. But they seems "nice to have " and overly priced. They also broke my rear windshield arm. They said they were taken care of it. But it were not there. And I had to make a second trip. And oh, by the way, I had to pay for the rear windshield after they broke my rear windshield arm. What a sweet deal! The person I dealt with looked "mad" all the time as if I owe him money. After I was given the receipts, I were waiting there for "you are all set" and something like to conclude our transaction. But he leave me hanging there and spoke to other customer. I had to ask " are we all set?"three times. Well, on he money part. I expected to spend 100 ish on the issue because that was the number I spent years ago with similar issue with a German car. There needs to be a "negative star" rating. I went in on a Saturday with noise coming from my front left tire, predominately when braking. The salesperson - without even looking or listening - diagnosed as my needing four new tires. He then did the actual diagnostics and yes, my tire belt was worn and I needed four new tires. I get my tires from Town Fair Tire so I passed. THANK GOD I DID. Town Fair identified that the bolt holding my brakes together was broken. Snapped in half. Needed a new bolt. NOT new tires, even though that's their specialty. Towed the car to a mechanic. $54 later my car is SAFE. Shame on Firestone. I could have killed myself or others with broken brakes. Update: this place is one star on a good day. Read below for the full story, then read this update. I'll wait.... OK, so now you've read below, here's the update. After the below attempt at service, I noticed they hadn't changed the sticker for the oil change date in the upper left corner of the windshield, and they hadn't reset the "maintenance needed" indicator after the oil change. So whether they did anything whatsoever, I can't tell. In any case, I legitimately had to have my snow tires put on, and the dealer was going to charge $100. My wife reminded me that Firestone does that for free, since we bought the tires there. OK, so one more trip to Firestone. Turns out, it costs $88, and they stared at me blankly when I commented that I thought it was free because I bought the tires here. Weather is due to turn bad any moment, so I needed to get this done. Fine. I left the car there for 27 hours. The next day, the snow tires were, indeed, on the car. However, my regular tires were not in my back seat or my trunk. When I inquired, they said, "Oh yeah, I think they're right over here. Pull up and we'll put them in your car." I pulled up, and two different guys asked what I was doing. I explained the situation. One guy says "You didn't notice?" I reminded him that I picked up my car 5 minutes ago, so this *is* me noticing. His response: "Oh, fuck." Totally something I would say and he should have said, just maybe not in front of a customer. They went to get my tires, and he put one in the car. I asked "Are you sure these are *my* tires?" "100%" he replied, "but 4 eyes are better than 2, so you're welcome to check!" I checked, and whether they're my tires or not, they have very good tread, so I'm keeping them. Even though they're in the nasty bags my snow tires had been in! I used to get solid, reliable service here--oil changes, brakes, tires, general service, you name it. There as a guy (Nate) who made sure things ran smoothly. Well, he retired, and this place is garbage ever since. Over the summer, I went in for an oil change and to take my snow tires off and put my regular tires back on. They had done this before, and the tires were in Firestone bags in the back seat of the car. I picked up after the oil change, went home, and it wasn't until I went to put the snow tires in my shed that I noticed they put them back in the same torn bags I had had my regular tires in. Then I looked again, my snow tires were still on the car and it was my regular tires still in the torn bags. They hadn't done a thing, even though this was the whole PURPOSE of the visit!!! I had been growing disenchanted with Firestone, but this was it. I told myself I wasn't going back. Then, like a dummy, I went back today (the location is super convenient to my house, so that counts for something). Today's request--oil change and inspect the loud creaking from the driver door. An hour later, service is done. Or is it? I got my car, and the loud creak was still there. I went straight back in and told them they hadn't done part of what I had SPECIFICALLY requested they look at. One guy walked by and said they hit it with WD-40. Oh really. Thanks for that. Like I can't do that at home. But even so, clearly it didn't work and they didn't say a thing. As a result of my complaining, they took another look and diagnosed that it was a loose door check. They said they tightened it, but that I would have to get a new one from the dealer or a body shop. OK, fine, but I still don't understand why they didn't say that when I first picked up my car. So, I took my car across the street to the dealer. They immediately looked at it, and the service guy tightened the bolt on the door check. He said it wasn't even finger tight. He turned it two full revolutions with his fingers, then used a tool to tighten it further. And guess what? The creak is gone! Do yourself a favor and skip this dump of a Firestone. read more

I schedule an appointment to have my winter tires replaced with summer tires at 9am. Timing was very important to me since I had to be back in NY for a 12pm meeting. I asked in advance how long the process will take and was told no longer than 60 minutes. I arrived on time and ended up leaving three hours later! My car was parked in front of the service garage at 8:45am, I checked in at 9am but my car was rolled onto the lift only at 9:30am for some strange reason?? To make matters worse, I had to drive back and have my tires re-balanced because the car was shaking when accelerating to a speed of 60mph. Total time spent at this location for a simple tire change: 3 hours and 4 minutes. That is a big discrepancy from the original 60 minutes I was quoted over the phone. If you plan on visiting this location for service, do not plan anything within a 3-4 hour window because you will not leave on time. They apologized and tried to be nice but the damage had already been done. Hold your staff to higher standards firestone, or you will be seeing many more of these complaints pop up online. read more

Big ripoff as usual. I waited in a long line for a tire repair listening to the counter workers spewing false information to most of the customers ahead of me. All I need is to have a tire patched. Took them 7 hours to get to it and claim I have two punctures and they cannot fix them. But they did write up a tire quote for $800 for new tires. I'm turning in the car in three months but they never asked me about that. Shame, I was going to buy new tires for my SUV there but not anymore. I'll buy online and have them installed at a local service station. And I thought Hank Mays and the dealerships were the only ones up selling like this. Live and learn. BTW. This is the same shop I had sent 4 tires to from a discount online shop and when I went to pick it up they put their own tires on and tried to charge me for them. Unbelievable!! read more

Moved to Stamford, didn't have a mechanic. My girlfriend had come here and said it wasn't too bad, but wow. Got front brakes rotors and oil change. Price irrelevant. Brakes squeaked the minute I left: whatever, fast forward 2 months i need brakes in the back. They tried to sell me some brake pad service to stop the noise, and stated whoever did the brakes prior used cheap pads. Lol! How inept can you be to try to upsell me using their own garbage install as the reason. read more

Even though they were the only tire place around open on a Sunday, they came to my rescue well in fixing my flat tire on my car, after I drove in on my spare. They were friendly, polite, efficient, and helpful. They were able to patch my flat tire in lieu of me needing to buy a new one, for which I'm very grateful! They apologetically told me it would take 2 hours due to them being so busy, but it only took 1-1/2 hrs. Hopefully I wont find myself stuck 3 hours from home with a flat again. But if I ever did, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again...no matter what day of the week. 2012 update: My car demised approximately 25,000 miles later, but their patch still held till the end! read more

Initially upon arriving for my 2pm appointment, the service guy at the counter was fairly cordial. After inspection and told what the repairs would cost, the work started and I was satisfied that it would take about an hour to an hour and a half that was told to me around 3:45pm. As I waited, especially when it hit the 2.5 hour of waiting and no one working there would inform me of let me know the status, that after being the last person left, Imapproached to inquire and this was around 6:30pm. The female tech manager told me in about 15-20 minutes everything should be wrapped up. It's around 6:50 and the store closes at 7pm. Last vehicle, last customer. Felt like my vehicle had been done at least an hour ago and they allowed me to sit there. From 1:45pm until 6:50pm, I sat patiently. $1,300 dollars later. Will never have my vehicle serviced at the Stamford Firestone ever again. read more

Do not trust your car to this location. Other Firestone locations I've been to are very good, but I've had two unacceptable experiences here. They changed the price of an estimate during work, and lied about a diagnosis. 1. While getting my tires changed, they called to inform me that they made a mistake about the tire size, and the bill would go up an additional $300! Needless to say I was shocked that they would go back on an estimate. I called customer service and they did nothing but call the store who did nothing. 2. After that I decided to limit myself to oil changes at this location. After an oil change they informed me that all of my breaks were at less than 1mm left and that I needed to change them now. I took them to the Hamden Firestone later that week where they told me that 2 tires were at 4mm and two were at 2mm. read more

Horrible costumer service. My took my car to the Stamford location to replace its four tires. What it was supposed to take only 90 min took the whole day. When I called to know if my car was ready somebody very unhelpful and rude answer the phone saying that it will be ready by the end of the day. He even got mad when I asked him what meant "the end of the day". Since it was Sunday and the shop close at 5:00 I got there a little before that, and my car was not ready. I went to the supermarket to kill some time and went I came back for my car the workers were angry at me bc it was "too late" and they were closing the shop. Really? After I waited all the long! Brought a company vehicle here twice and most recently a personal vehicle had a flat tire that needed repair. Now they told me that the tire couldn't be repaired due to the wear on the tire....granted the car only had 24K miles on it. Because it was a Sunday and a holiday weekend I let it go. They "misplaced" my original wheel keylock along with the Honda casing. It's hard to believe they misplaced both parts and couldn't find them. Of course I wasn't informed of this, luckily I checked to see if anything was missing as everyone should. Lets say I got a flat tire and wanted to change the wheel, I wouldn't have been able to change the tire without the keylock which would have ran me additional expenses..They replaced the keylock and nuts, but never returned the casing and wouldn't have returned the previous lugnuts if i didnt request them. When they took your car key it is that 'I ganrantee it will be ready by 5pm'; call back in two hours it turned out 'I only ganranteed we will take a look at it by 5pm. I can't ganrantee it will be ready'. Thanks a lot Firestone, You are not the only one that opens on Sunday. Costco opens until 6pm on Sunday! Also boyfriend came with a TPMS issue and they just prescribed with four new tires without solving the issue. After spending 800 dollars, the TPMS issue is still there. read more

The customer service is horrid at this location. If possible, I'd recommend going elsewhere. I was a pop in w/ no appt. that came in for an oil change. 2.5 hrs later, I'm still waiting!!!!! They needed to get authorization (wk vehicle) which I was told by one employee occurred approx 1 hr. ago. When I asked another employee about the timelines, the female staffer stated that they just received authorization 15 mins prior which clearly wasn't true. Big fan of Firestone for my car maintenance needs. The staff is down to earth, friendly and prices (especially oil changes) is reasonable. The other great thing about it, is that they are well staffed so you can usually pull in last minute, drop off your car for a bit and get most basic things done quickly. The waiting area is spacious and they have a TV. The only beef I have and there's not much they can do about it, is that you have to park in the back of the store and walk down the hill to get to the area. Sometimes there are workers back there smoking or throwing a football (which makes me nervous since my car is there). Would be a five star is the parking situation was better. Still, a great business and it won't stop me from returning. read more

Worst ZipCar scenario, my friend popped a flat 100 yards away from my house after a 2.5 hour road trip to CT. After we called the tow truck (who came in a Prius?) and got the donut put on the car we knew she couldn't drive back to Boston on that dinky little thing. So we called ZipCar about 600 times and finally figured out that we could get the tire changed at any service center and then ZipCar would reimburse us for the free and it'd be safe to drive back to Boston. Unfortunately the next day was Sunday so everywhere was close. EXCEPT Firestone. So we booked it over there first thing and it was great. They had no problems with the fact that it was a rented car and it took a little over an hour. The guy working there was very nice and understanding and although it took a little longer than expected, it was pretty busy in there for a Sunday morning, so I didn't worry about it. The price was pretty good, but we weren't really looking for competitive rates since ZipCar was paying. They had to switch one of the back tires onto the front and put the new tire on the back because it was a FWD card and apparently it would've messed with the transition? I don't know anything about cars, but I'm guessing that's a good thing they knew that. Either way, this place did a great job when we were in a pinch. read more

Unprofessional and dishonest business practice. The assistant manager tried charging me a separate amount for a replacement oil filter, when the filter is included in the cost for a standard oil change. This is also stated in Firestone's "oil change" policy. I have never been charged a separate amount for a filter, as it has always been included in all my oil changes at Firestone. Knowing this, and seeing this on his computer screen the assistant manager still refused to honor said policy and tried charged me for the filter anyway. I told him no thank you and left the establishment. I will bring my business elsewhere, a place where the business and employees have integrity and stand behind their policies. DISORGANIZED, WORK WAS 2 DAYS LATE, DELIBERATELY OVERCHARGED I dropped my car off at 9:30AM on Sat August 17th to the Firestone on Main Street in Stamford. I needed to get my brakes fixed and an oil change. This is work that takes about 2 hours. I was going away and could not wait for the work, I was assured that I could leave the car and come back once the work was done. I stated that I needed to pick up the car on Monday morning August 19th.On Saturday evening I return a text message from them. The mechanic "Mike" stated that the total was to be $984.78 cents after "discounts". This was about $200 more than I was told that I would have to pay in the "worst case scenario and needed a complete replacement of my brakes". I asked Mike why the cost was so much higher then previously estimated/quoted. He stated it was because m brake fluid was low. The break fluid costs: $ 79.99 He made the situation with my breaks sound dire over the phone which made me feel like I had no safe option but to have them complete the breaks However Mike did not itemize the charges (out of convenience) as I later learned that I had been charged $385.87 for something called a LIFETIME BREAK SERVICE which is essentially a warranty on break pads. I did not ask for this, I was not informed of this warranty or charge. Then to make matters worst. When I arrived on Monday morning 8:30AM to pick up the car, first the clerk was not able to locate the car because as it turns out it was registered under the wrong name. For a person of the opposite sex. Then I was told that the car was not ready. So essentially after having 48 hours to complete a 2 hour service, Firestone had done nothing, AND had charged me for services that I had not asked for such as the LIFETIME BREAK SEVICE. I asked for a rental as I was going to be late to work due to their disorganization. A complete rip-off Take away points: 1. Firestone is not the place to go for efficient service as their level of disorganization can cost you 2. Beware of their charges. They will purposefully not itemize the bill if interacting with them over the phone in order to sneak in big item tickets such as a $385.87 warranty that you may not want. read more

I came for an oil change and was told that my car REQUIRED full synthetic oil. Even though I've had numerous oils changes no one has ever said this. When I called to ask my spouse to see what they wanted to do, and while I'm talking about how full synthetic is required, the person checking me in said, "or it can use a synthetic blend". Which is it? Is it required or no?? My spouse said it was fine to go full synthetic. I was told it would cost $49.99. My bill was $59.83. When I asked why, I was told that my car took up extra oil. Again, I had never heard this before. I called the dealership and asked about the oil capacity and was told it's 4.4. So, it didn't require extra oil. I called back to let them know and spoke with Eric. Eric was not kind - he over talked me and in fact didn't offer up an apology or anything until I said something to him regarding his poor customer service. Eric gave me at least several reasons why by bill was higher than expected. 1). An oil change is $71 and they gave me a $15 discount. I told him no, it's $49.99 on your website coupon and I was told the same amount. 2) My oil change did not include an oil filter, $49.99 only covers the oil. I have NEVER heard this before and it's not on your coupon online!!!! So, I was charged extra for the filter. 3) He also said Darren lied about the extra oil. It sounds like everyone is lying about everything! If that wasn't bad enough, they added a VIN check to my bill AND I never requested one or was told they wanted to do one. They ultimately removed it, but WHAT IS GOING ON??? THIS IS SO UNACCEPTABLE!!!!! All for a measly extra $25!!!!! Eric eventually agreed to give us a free oil change on our next visit. Thanks for NOTHING!!! Went in for an emissions test. What could go wrong? There's isn't working. No one said anything. They just had us waiting. I overheard it wasn't working and asked. That's when I was told it wasn't working. This was at 12:18pm. We had to get this done today and you can't get it done after 1pm! read more

Went to firestone today to get an oil change. On the way to the service area, the technician accidentally blew a tire, maybe from nail or sharp object around the shop. The manager, Ryan, then informed me of the accident and offered to replace all four of my tires on the house. They went above and beyond on their service. They were honest, responsible, and care about their customer. I highly recommend this store/service center. read more

I had a run in with one of Stamford's craterous pot holes recently. Unfortunately the incident occurred on a Saturday night, and needing repair done on Sunday, Firestone was my only option. They replaced two blown out tires on my passenger side, but assured me everything else, including the rims, was fine. I took the car on the highway and could feel it vibrate. I brought it into a real mechanic, and the rims are clearly bent. Don't take my word for it, see the video I posted. These people are incompetent. read more

I call them, yeah its ready, I go to pick up car and find the ignition "on" and low battery warning light... Oh and I asked for new wiper blades....I didnt get them.
