Appointments Mean Nothing Here The customer service can be horrible depending on who you speak to. I made an appointment on Tuesday for my car to be fixed on Thursday at 9am. When I got in there on Thursday they said the part wasn't in. The customer service rep was not rude but confused. Finally I spoke to Nate who seemed to have common sense. He got on the phone and called the parts store. The parts store said they called yesterday and said the part would not get there in time and spoke to Andrea. Andrea failed to call me and tell me that the part wouldn't not be there. Nate apologized and I thanked him for his apology. The next day I went in there Andrea had an attitude. I asked for an apology and she began to talk some double speak. First she apologized very rudely with a dirty look and simply said "Sorry" and then said she had nothing to apologize for. read more

The worst service I have had. They are very misleading. I got a quote from Toyota and the firestone said they would price match it. I dropped my car off and I HAD to call them back to see if my car was ready. Instead of price matching me, they charged me an extra $39.00 The lady that looks like He-man was rude when I called. Where do I begin.....my rating is actually ZERO stars!! Stay away!!! I should have learned my lesson the first time I brought in my car to check the air levels in the tires. They told me that there was a nail in the tire and it needed to be replaced. When I asked to see the tire in question I was then told oh that was a mistake. Your car is ready. The first time they tried to rip me off. Then I went back for some oil changes and noticed that the price would continually fluctuate. I own a 2010 GLK 350. I know this truck requires extra oil however the first oil change was like $160, then the second was $160, however the 3rd became $100. I thought wow I must have gotten a discount until the check oil like kept coming on. I went back 5 times until someone finally had the bright idea to check my oil on a level surface and seen the reading was off. Prior to this they almost had me replace the oil level sensor that was working perfectly fine. It's the people in there that are off! So now the best part. I was told I needed to change my tires due to wear. So I comply. Then after getting an inspection by them I was told my serpentine belt was worn and needed to be changed. I agreed. I was charged $100 for labor and $100 for parts (even though this part is from advance auto and retails there for $27.99) anyway I say ok to Jose. By time I get ready to pick up my car I was told that the tensioner (the thing that holds serpentine belt on place) needed to be replaced and I need to come up with another $300 in 40 minutes. I told them I don't have it to please just put back the old parts on the car and I will take care of it when I have the money. I am already paying $1200 for tires. I didn't budget an extra $500 today. Long story short I was told my car isn't drivable without the tensioner and they are keeping my car until they get the part which they're not sure when (it's Friday night) maybe Monday afternoon at best and I need to somehow get the money to pay for it was Bryan's response. I am on the verge of calling the cops. It's disgusting how they treat customers. read more

Went in for a flat tire and Justin helped me out. Even though my tires couldn't be repaired, Justin was very helpful and really nice about it too. He even recommended what new tires to get and where to get the brand I needed. Overall great experience and would go back for any future tires or auto issues. read more

Don't usually write a review for places but felt this place has some bad reviews when I've consistently received good customer service and prices from them. I believe I'm usually helped by Omar who always seems to make me feel good about what I'm getting. As with most firestones they'll usually suggest and recommend additional repairs. Some repairs may be more necessary than others. It's up to you to decide what you need. Having been to a few other firestones and sometimes feeling ripped off, this is the best one I've been to. read more

Made an appointment on 7/19/17 for 7/20/17 @ 10am, arrived at the place and was told I had no appointment in the system. Then they told me, they would take care of me in several hours which was out of the question as I need my vehicle to work. The person I dealt with was totally unprofessional. read more

I called on Friday spoke to Keith. Reviewed my car with him, 2016 Ford Explorer. Decided which tires I needed. He didn't have in stock. He picked them up for me so I could come Saturday morning (without even asking a deposit). Dropped the Explorer off sat morning. 4 hours latter they called and said finished. Sunday I picked up, all was perfect. They even showed me the before / after alignment report. Great service. Thanks. read more

I brought a tire into this establishment to see if it could be patched, which I was told it couldn't be. When I called to let the staff know that I would be picking up my rim and purchasing a new tire elsewhere, I was told that a new tire was already put on. I told the person I spoke to on the phone to take it off and came to pick up my rim. As I was in a hurry, I grabbed the rim I was given and hurried about my day. Several days later, when I bought my car into my dealership to have the new tire put on, I was told that the rim I was given at Firestone was for an entirely different model of Jeep and was severely damaged. Upon calling them I was informed that they did in have have the right rim, after which I picked up the right one, forcing me to lose my appointment to have my tire put on, and making me wait another several days before I could drive my car. This carelessness is why I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone. read more

Very poor service. Everything seems like just too much trouble. Have been there periodically over the last 10 years. The only reason to go is they are open on a Sunday and they are the closest to my home. This week I took a mid-size lawn tractor tire to have a puncture repaired. They kept the tire a day and then told me they couldn't find the leak. I took the same tire to Town Fair Tire in Stamford today, they found and repaired the puncture in 15 minutes. Similarly in the past I need hard to find tires for an older model Porsche. Town Fair took a week to locate the tires and charged a fair price. read more

I bought 4 tires from you on June 24th and I went back on June 30th because the tire on the passenger front side was losing air. I told the person at the front desk that i will be travelling on 7/4/2018 and the car will be in a parking lot at the airport by itself. He assured me that the tire will be fine. On (7/3/18), the night before my flight I went to look the tire and it was losing air. This is the most regrettable money that I ever spent in my life. If I had known that Firestone doesn't have a person who can perform this kind of job, I would've gladly taken my car somewhere else. I had to travel early in the morning and needed to figure out how to get to the airport because the tire was almost flat. Because of this I had to spend money to take Uber because I couldn't drive my car. I have been there twice and will need to go back for a third time. The car is unsafe because the tire keeps going flat. I just finished talking to Louis, I explained to him how every time I take my cars to this shop, they are always trying to take advantage of me. I gave him a couple of incidents where the person who was working on my car, I told him to fix something and they fixed something else and tried to charge me and his response was, you know that you are trying to get refunds and not pay for our service. Why should I pay for you to fix a headlight when I took my car in for a diagnostic and I never asked you to fix it, nor did you ever ask if I wanted it fixed. Why should my wife pay for a VIN check when she only came for an oil change? These are not services we requested and yet you expect us to pay for them. I only want to pay for services that are requested and agreed upon. Anything else is a violation of state law! read more

Don't know about the bad reviews but this is the second time I am visiting for VIN verification to transfer an out of state vehicle. The guys are very pleasant and helpful. No complaints here. I have been here several times and they are always so helpful and nice. I change my tires every season. Everywhere else I have been charges around $80 or more, when changing tires should be very easy especially since I even have wheels for both sets of tires. These guys charge around $30 give or take and do it while you wait during off hours. read more

I bought a set of new tires for my VW Passat in early January, had the front end aligned at the same time. Firestone charged me $20/tire to remove the locking lugs; I'd think a tire place would have the socket to remove locking lugs from every manufacturer. So it's partly my fault for losing the socket, but maybe it's a little extra for Firestone, too. OK, my bad; I should have left then. But the car had been there most of the day while they found four tires to fit; had to get two from a neighboring Firestone place. Finally I drove out with new tires and an aligned front end. The car felt great. But a couple weeks later I find two of the new tires are way down on air, not quite flat but almost. I pumped them up, returned to Firestone where they remounted them, said the valves were leaking. I thought you always got new valves with new tires. They did this without complaint, since I'd paid for their road-hazard warranty. Now, one of the tires is still losing air -- I'm topping it up every week. How difficult is it to mount tires, especially if your name is Firestone? I don't know if I want to waste another hour waiting for them to fix it, or if I'll take it to my local service station -- who I know from experience can fix tires -- and pay them to repair it. Bottom line is, I was happy with Firestone when they first did the job, but now I think I'll stay away. read more

They chew up your alloy wheels and the guys who drive your car in and out are dirty. My steering wheel was filthy, the A pillar had a huge smudge on it from the guy pushing the car near the windshield, and the car stunk like BO. Don't go unless you're driving an old beat up car. read more

I had a TERRIBLE experience at Firestone this year. I had been a loyal Firestone customer for 5-6 years before Nate left and new management came on board. Things went South very quickly with the new management. I brought my car in the first week in January of 2018. I knew I needed a caliper replaced and it was a matter of time until my brakes started making a horrendously loud noise. I was told that BOTH calipers had to be replaced which was a lie - they wanted to make money so they told me I had to have both replaced. They replaced them with 2 rebuilt calipers and replaced the rotors and brake pads. Then they looked my car over and told me I needed my axle replaced. Much to my surprise, the mechanic never completed the axle work and did not put the axle transmission case on properly. The transmission fluid leaked out of the car as a result. When I drove my car home that night, my engine seized due to NO transmission fluid and the car died in the middle of the road. I had to have the car towed. I spoke to Ryan, the manager, and asked to be reimbursed for the tow and to remove the axle repair charges since it was admitted it was not done properly. Fast forward 4 -5 months and my brakes start squeaking again. This time I brought my car into a reputable shop who told me that I needed one of the "new"calipers replaced and in fact, he told me I only needed to purchase 1. I had to replace the rotors and brake pads again due to the damage caused by the rebuilt caliper going bad after a few months. I ended up spending another $680 for the caliper to be repaired again, but along with doing that repair over again 4-5 months later, comes a feeling that I can rely on it getting done properly and honestly. Firestone, you lost a faithful customer over hiring apprentices and incompetent mechanics. I'd love a refund of the caliper work that had to be redone due to Firestone's ignorance. I had my Acura RDX towed here recently because it seemed to be the only auto body shop in town that was open on Labor Day. It was obvious that the alternator had died since all of my electricals had crapped out. I was told that I would get a call later. I did get a call later and the individual that I spoke to indicated that he was getting quotes close to $1,000. I asked whether he had contacted the Acura dealers and he said he had not and that his experience was that they would be more expensive at the dealer. I was told I would get a call the next morning. I called an Acura dealer that morning and was quoted an alternator just shy of $500. I called the individual at Firestone with whom I had been communicating and told him this. He said he would call back. I did not get a call for a few hours and decided to walk to the shop since it is less than a mile from my home. He said he would give me the price quoted since it was not that much different than the price he was getting (he said it was only $80 less). I was incredulous that he would make that claim but just wanted to get my car. He did say that I would have the car by the end of the day. I called around 6pm and asked whether my car was ready. I was told that it would be ready that night and that they would be there until 7:30pm. Not having a lot of faith in these bald assertions, I walked into the shop and was told that the car still needed 2 hours of work and that it would not be ready until the next day. I told the same individual that delays happen but that it was amazing to me that they didn't exercise the professional curtesy of giving me a call to tell me this since I had just spoken to the guy at 6. He said he thought I would call but that he should have. I did get the car the next day in the afternoon, but a frustrating experience to say the least. read more

They are running a criminal enterprise. I bought 4 new tires, got an alignment as well. After 15000 miles my right left tire was virtually bald and the left rear tire almost bald. They claimed that it was because I didn't rotate my tires after 5K instead of a horrible alignment. Don't use this place ever. read more

Very frustrated, you wait and wait there and nothing happens,thinking how they still in business

I rushed over on a Saturday afternoon 4/1/17 and arrived at 12:27 PM for an emissions test. To be fair, there were several customers already in the lobby and a couple of minutes later, a guy shows up to the counter and tells me that they can't take my car in anymore. I retorted that it is not even 12:30 and their sign, as well as the official CT website, says emissions are done until 1:00PM. He said that because of the "high volume" of people, by the time they are able to attend to my car, it will be after 1PM and "he can't do that to (his) guys". I hurriedly looked up another emissions center and found one (Hank May's over at Magee Ave) just 0.7 miles away. Off I drove and as I stepped in, their counter guy says, "let me take put you into the system before 1 PM because after that, I can't take you in anymore". Needless to say, I was out of Hank May's at 12:52PM - and they also had clients lined up before me as well. read more

Few of the lowlights....1.5+ hours to look at the car, quote of $1800 to replace struts on a common make and model, only auto place I've ever heard of that then charged me for having looked at the car when I declined to have it serviced there, and then, oh yes, took 20 minutes to retrieve my keys. They tried to scam me last year! I went in because I had a nail in my tire, and they immediately said I had to buy a new tire because the nail had gotten in too close to the side of the tire. I decided to get a second opinion from Town Fair Tire, after paying Firestone $25 for the inspection. Town Fair Tire said Firestone had lied about needing a brand new tire that would have cost me close to $100! They repaired my tire for under $10 and my tires have been perfect since!!! read more

Do not ever go to this particular firestone location! Pete working here has the worst customer service mindset. I had an A/C done yesterday and today my A/C did not work during the trip to Long Island. My infant was sweat all over. I called Peter asking for help connecting me to nearby firestone. He d**n said just take to any firestone. I took it to Floral park. Then they can't take my car because it was independently owned. D**n Pete then told me to go to Westbury. I went there and then manager said he told Pete he can't work on my car and need to wait 3 hours which he told Pete. I told Westbury manager my infant was sweating all over. So he hooked me up with Levittown branch. Still manager said there told me I need to wait 45 min's, then I told him about infant so he decided to take care of my car right away. Original work at Stamford was done improperly. There was air in the system. The 2.5 hours later Pete called to return my call. He was surprised Westbury can't take me in. I guess I should have read the views before I took my car in for two new tires. When I arrived I told the guy at the service desk I needed my car back by 5pm due to getting a ride to pick up my car. I was told it would be ready by 5pm, I dropped it off at 1:30pm. I then called at 4pm to check on the status of my car again, I was told it would be ready right at 5pm. at 5pm I get a ride to pick up my car and to my surprise my car was not ready and they had just brought it in at 5pm to start working on it!!!! I'm not sure what part of " I need my car ready for 5pm " they didn't understand, but I was beyond angry, what really got me more angrier was the fact the he still wanted to proceed to make an appointment for another day, I told him no, I will be going elsewhere that is more competent and actually are honest. They wasted my time when I could have just gone elsewhere if they were aware they couldn't accommodate my request. However, looking back in hindsight, I guess it was blessing it happened, because I believe he tried to sell my one of their more expensive tires. I needed two front tires and the total was going to be $400!!! I could pay that for 4. Never again will go to firestone in Stamford, nor will I recommend anyone else to go there! !! read more

I was their loyal customer since 1989. I have seen a dozen managers changed over the years. One thing that never changed is treatment of the customers. If you do not know engines - they will rip you off. If you do, you will have to come back twice and demanding the job to be properly done. Their rate is $110/hr while the rate of shops across the street is $80/hr and they do much better job. The only thing they good at is oil change (if you have a coupon). However, my parents stopped going for the oil changes because they told them that they need to change the oil pan and it is going to cost them $300. I looked under the car and found that they did not tight bolt and the oil was dripping. Taking advantage over the old folks like my parents is all they good at. Stay away! read more

Worst place to bring your car. They are crooks. It took them 3 days just to do a complete vehicle inspection on my sisters car and to top it off they never did it and lied about it then got rude about it. She brought her car with a obvious front end issue, and after 3 days of having my car and a call to corporate because they kept pushing it back in line, they managaed to do an hour check in 15 minutes(bullshit) just to tell me there were "no issues". When i asked if they test drove it another guy (young kid) spoke up and said "i pulled it out of the lot and parked it right away i didnt feel safe in it" when she asked the manager and the counter guy(with dreads) what was going on they told her "you look like you got work done somewhere else so go back there" she told them it was all done at firestone under a different name and they just kept dancing around the fact that they didnt do the check and wanted to brush her off. After she kept questioning them they turned around and gave her a 2,000 recommendation list and told her "this may or may not be your problem " then why the fuck did you give it to her??? And how are you recommend things if you never checked the car?? The manager jose and the counter guys started yelling at my sister the more she questioned them and bullied her into leaving with a dangerous car. When i called they lied to me then tried to change their story when i told them i use to be a service manager for Firestone..that location has gone downhill and they are not only ignorant, rude, and uneducated on automotive (by the way sway bar links are not in the engine idiots) they will rip you off and give you fake recommendations just to make money. Absolutely terrible experience. Uber drivers have a corp discount program with Firestone. The manager Jose wanted to charge my CC upfront an excessive amount just to have the tires delivered that afternoon. Then he denied the specifices of the Uber discount. When i arrived for the installation, Jose had already entered in the wrong pricing. After waiting 2 1/2 hours for the tires to be mounted the bill was still wrong after my second attempted from another employee to fix the discount. Finally when it was time to pay, i insisted they honor the correct discount. Which they did. They also played games with the tire pricing. Jose quoted a lower price over the phone. When i arrrived the price was 10% higher than the verbal quote. I also had to back out other needless and unasked fees ans services. Ive lived in this area for 21 years and know not to go to this location from previous similar bad experiences but was forced to do so for the Uber Driver corporate discount program. Unless you want ot be overcharged and charged for other unasked services, I'd suggest any other location. read more

Just moved to area from Southern CA and was looking for a place to repair a flat tire. My mechanic uses Firestone back in CA to get all his tire needs so I thought I would at least read yelp comments before heading over there. Didn't look good after reading comments but thought to my self if my mechanic is comfortable then I should give it a shot. Well, I couldn't be happier! First off attendant at reception desk was getting the business from a self entitled local. This guy kept his cool stayed the course and handled the situation like a professional. I stepped up next and this guy didn't miss a beat. " yes sir how can I help you?" He asked politely if I could leave tire and he would call by noon since they were swamped. I said sure and pulled up car and he grabbed tire. Within 1 1/2 hr he called and said he was happy to report that they were able to fix it and if I was available I could bring my car in. As I write this review I can hear this guy at the front desk greeting , updating and sending off everyone with a sense of being in good hands. Glad I gave it a shot. read more

I went to this Firestone store for new brakes, they wanted to charge me 1,100.00, they came down to about 750.00 and said I needed front and rear brakes. I then took the car to the dealership where they said I only needed front brakes and the charge was 330.00. They also led me to believe that the noise I was hearing was from the brakes ,it had nothing to do with the brakes. To top it all off they charged me 21.00 for looking at my car. Stay away from this store they clearly tried to rip me off for repairs I did not need. read more

Went back over having been told they were functioning again-sat around for half an hour, they gave no thought to the disruption they created and showed no interest in trying to help me.
