This place is a joke DO NOT take your vehicle here I took my truck here to get it fixed because it died out on me on the highway called them and told them my issues and I went to pick it up a couple of days later and guess what 3 mins from leaving the shop it breaks down on me again! I was barely able to get it back to the shop as I pulled back in it dies out again, I asked them if they test drove it and they said no I thought you just wanted to get it started even though I clearly told them it died out on the highway. they "fixed" it a second time I actually made it to my house this time and parked it couple days later went out to drive my vehicle and wouldn't you know it didn't start up, took my truck there again and they replaced my battery and told me I had some electric issues and would not asses any further they said I had to go to an electric automotive shop so all I did was waste my money and time and didn't get my initial $500 back so much for their slogan "fixed right the first time or it's free" ended up taking it to a normal mechanic shop and they had me on my way in a few days, not sure what kinda uneducated mechanics work here but only come here for tires and that's it! read more

Absolutely fantastic service. I went with a tire that was going flat. They tried to fin the problem and could not find it at first. They even took the tire off of the rim and cleaned the rim to see if that was the problem. They said if it happened again to bring it back and they would see if they could figure it out. The tire went flat again and I took it back and left the tire. They worked on it for hours and finally found a VERY small nail that was hit in the tread. Can't say enough about the customer service and friendliness of the staff!!!!! Would highly recommend for tire service. read more

[photos included]Terrible experience. Brought my Grand Prix here in Mid December for a full service including tire rotation. My car was throwing codes for O2 sensors both down flow and up flow as well as tire pressure and anti-theft system the minute they gave it back across my dashboard. The mechanics assured me they would go away once driven and were hesitant to do anything so I took their word. BIG MISTAKE. Fast forward to Mid January, my car has had decreased gas mileage, rough idling, and generally running rough since a day after Firestone trip and I can't ignore it at this point. I attributed it to being an older vehicle but kept the Firestone in the back of my head. Both O2 sensors are less than a year old so I'm thinking those codes are bogus even though they are still on. Finally, today, I take it to a mechanic. Low and behold my upflow O2 sensor harness has been unplugged and sitting on my manifold this whole time. It burnt up my wires to the sensor completely. $65 later, I have a new O2 sensor and car runs like it did before my Firestone trip. The mechanic is adamant this is a common "trick" he sees places like Firestone and Jiffy Lube pull on women and old men. He feels this was done on purpose so I would bring the car back and they could charge me whatever just to plug an assembly back together as there is no physically possible way this sensor could come unplugged without human hands. It is a difficult clasp to pull from the harness and sits out of the way of other components completely. I'm told I had an engine fire waiting to happen. I called the Chimny Hill Firestone first to tell them what's going on and the gentleman on the phone was kind and explained it could have been a mess up during the inspection pre-oil change. He said just to call them and explain the situation and they would most likely reimburse me for the cost of the sensor. I call this location and tell them what is going on and the man on the phone tells me there is no way it would have been touched(this sits on the very top where the hood opens near the windshield, EASILY reachable) in the inspection(which he was hesitant to admit was on my file at all) or otherwise and that they have no reason to reimburse me or believe they are at fault. OF COURSE! But the gentleman at your other location just told me this is an understandable mistake on your part due to the inspection. Hmmm. Take from this what you will. Women, beware. read more

I came in for a state inspection. I was told it would take half an hour at the most so I waited in the sitting area. About 15 minutes in, I was informed that I should change my cabin air filter, an additional $50, and may want to consider getting my tires aligned. I was given two options, a one time alignment which would cost $75 or lifetime for $180 which would allow me to take my car to any Firestone for free alignment. I chose the lifetime option since I go to school in Philadelphia and the roads there are littered with potholes. Everything was finished in about a half hour read more

Customer service -- Ashley, especially (she's been there every time I've gone) -- is excellent. I've brought my 4Runner to them several times, and I've never felt overcharged or undermined -- which I hear happens a lot to women. My only complaint about my most recent visit: on the phone, I was quoted a $10 fee for them to look at my vehicle. When I brought it to the store and told them the exact same car problems I'd told them over the phone, the guy said it would cost about $70 for them to look at my vehicle. That's a big jump for me. Otherwise, I'm a happy customer, and my previously obnoxious brakes now ride like a dream. :) read more

This review is based off of two separate interactions at the General Booth location. One for tires and another for the replacement of my thermostat housing. The first interaction was for the simple replacement of two worn tires - while this was a very simple process, the staff was immensely professional and helpful. The mechanic communicated with me throughout the entire process - offering thoughts and advice, not add-on sales like the "other guys." The work was done quickly and I was highly satisfied with the results. Today's interaction (I'm writing this in the lobby) has been just as seamless and professional. I called ahead looking to diagnose a leak - which I already located and lacked the tools to fix. As opposed to attempting to jack-up the price (Treadquarters) by selling unnecessary parts and services, the mechanic verified my findings and gave me a very fair up-front quote. She came back shortly after the quote saying that she made a mistake (I value honesty and humility to a high extent) and said she was quoted my labor wrong - not a big deal to me, I don't mind paying for work done. She then insisted that Firestone would absorb the extra cost of the labor instead of charging me for it - that is called honesty and fairness and is rare these days. I will not go anywhere else in Virginia Beach, period. Choose Firestone over other local competitors and you will leave satisfied! read more

I stopped in to get a set of tires. I arrived at 0715. I wanted to get some performance tires for my car, the ones I wanted were not in stock. They talked me into getting a little more expensive ones. After about 30 minutes they told me that they made a mistake and didn't have them, but would drove to Norfolk and get me more expensive ones for the same price. I decided to wait at the store. They checked my brakes, because I heard them squeling. Turns out my breaks were good, because this took about 4 1/2 hours they threw in a free alignment and changed my reverse light for free. Bill was the one who walked me through everything at the register and he had very good customer service skills. Mike worked on my car and occasionally kept me up to date on the progress. Overall I will contjnue to do business with them. read more

I took my car to Firestone after another auto shop failed to fix my tire issue. They were incredibly helpful and answered all of my questions. Although they couldn't find an exact answer to my tire problem, they tried a few things which seem to have alleviated my issue for now. They were so kind and didn't charge me despite spending time on my car, and said I could bring the car back and they would check it again for free if the issue arose again. What a Cracker Jack crew they have here. I went in to get two tires replaced that both had nails in them. One of the tires they replaced was a brand new tire with no nails in it. It took them 2.5 hours to do that. Had to go back and it took them another hour to swap the one tire they missed and I was the only car there. I will never go back and don't recommend this location to anyone else. The front desk attendant Sarah was very rude and argued with me multiple times. If it was possible to give zero stars I would. I literally cannot believe the service I recieved here. My family has going to firestone for YEARS so I expected to be treated better. I dropped my car off around 8 am to have a ton of work down. Around 2 I got a call that said my car would be another 2 hours. So I went to pick it up around 4. I was told that someone had just come in and took my car keys. I said "excuse me?" The man told me "he said he was your father." I don't care if it was the damn pope you don't give someone's car keys to someone else!! So in an effort to get my keys back I went running down the road chasing my estranged father's vehicle. After finally getting my keys back I walked back to firestone and asked a manager why they would do something like that. His response? "It was just a misunderstanding." How was that a misunderstanding? Does a man look like someone with a female name? No. It was blatant stupidity. Because of this disaster I was late for work. I tried calling and emailing the firestone HR about this incident and I never heard back from anyone! Firestone will NEVER have my business again. Be careful of you are brave enough to visit after reading this. They may give your keys away. read more

Wouldnt recommend taking your vehicle here, they will try to scam you to get as much money as possible. I took my jeep here to get an inspection and they told me it would be done at the end of the day, but it wasnt. They held my car overnight and i had to call them to see what the progress on my jeep was. I showed up and they told me it failed because the headlights were aimed too high. They wanted to charge 30 dollars to fix it and 10 dollars to replace a brake light. They even said that my tires were rubbing, but when i got home to check there was no contact at all. Overall, they dont know what they are doing. I recommend going to Davis Car Care instead. read more

My normal mechanic called at 0800 stating he was ill and couldn't keep my scheduled appt for my inspection today. Called into this store for safety inspection appointment around 0830. Explained my situation and that I work in DC during the week and won't be able to get on base without my inspection. They said they could do it if I left it all day and dropped it off right away.. Got to the store by 0900. When I got to the store the attendant promptly told me they most likely would not get it done today and it would be tomorrow. Why then did you tell me to drive there? So frustrating.....be up front with people. I wasted 40 minutes....20 there and 20 back. I did get a smart aleck "have a nice day on my way out the door"....won't ever buy tires or have my vehicles serviced here again! read more

The service is terrible I bought tires there less then a year ago brought my truck in for alignment and tire rotation and a lady was very rude and told me they can't take the extra 10 minutes to rotate my tires. I had even made a appointment for this and still I was denied then I leave and the alignment I just paid 90.00$ for doesn't even feel like it was done. So I call them and they say bring it in tomorrow morning after wasting a hour there that cost me 90$ for nothing they want me to comeback this next morning to do the work I already scheduled and paid for that wasn't done. I called on Saturday afternoon, Sept 5th, and talked to Sarah about getting a state vehicle inspection and was told that there were a number of people in line already and they likely wouldn't be able to get to my car that day. No problem, so I hung up. I called back about five minutes later and asked if they would be able to do inspections on Sunday, Sept 6th, Sarah told me no problem, they open at 9:00am. I arrived at 8:45, was the first customer of the day talked to Sarah about getting the state inspection done and she told me that they would "try" to get to it today, that there were, "like 20 people in line ahead of me." I said, "how can that be, you told me you don't take appointments for inspections?" Sarah told me that the other customers left their cars over night, that, "had I called she would have told me that." I said I did call, twice as a matter of fact. I got the standard management shrug of the shoulders and a simple, "sorry about that." Leaving your car one day to get work completed on another day is an appointment. It should have been obvious to Sarah from our two separate conversations that I was interested in getting an inspection done and she should have offered me the option to leave my car Saturday evening, apparently "like 20 other people did" even though they don't set appointments for vehicle inspections. read more
