If I could, I would give this garage a zero. Don't waste your money and time on this place for the lousy service and attitude. I sent my vehicle here at the end of March for a tire repair as I found a screw on it. One and a half hours and $23 later, I still found that same screw on the same tire on April 14. Front desk said a brake job and rear rotor replacement would only take a couple hours. 5 HOURS LATER, I asked what the problem was. They claimed there were some issues getting the bolts off. Went to ask about having a damaged tire replaced and they said they could only do it if I bought 4 new tires - what a load of hokum- why would I replace 3 perfectly good tires in order to replace one bad one? Rubbish! I went to another shop that didn't have the needed tire but referred me to another one that fortunately had the tire I needed and put it on in less than 20 minutes even though he was about to close. When I arrived here from NY I needed am inspection to register my car. I came here because they stand behind their repairs. That it gets crowd OH YEA because they are good, that's why!! I am always in my language not mechanical explain the needs to be done, and what should be addressed asap!! Who does that anymore. They go the extra mile. The manager explains everything and also is very hands on with all vehicles. Horrible. They "fixed" a leak incorrectly yesterday. Today I waited over an hour before they even began to fix their mistake and the entire fix took nearly two hours, just to patch a tire! While waiting I noticed they have a special for rotating tires along with a half dozen other checks for $9.99. Brought my truck there for another oil change, been going there for 3 years for oil changes and a few things here and there. They stripped out my oil pan plug when they put the bolt in. Torque specs are there for a reason. I didn't expect for it to be free but they hit me with a $1200 bill and said they took 15%off. $100 oil change now 1200 I called and said I've been coming for years and that's a lot to pay for a oops that was there fault they said $1,190 was the best they can do. Thanks a lot. So I came here to look for a new shop and figured I'd share my story and I have another horror story from them but I'll spare you. Stay away from this one please. read more

Needed a tire patched in the repairable zone on my car on a Sunday. Only place open near me was Firestone so I called and went in. After dropping off, I got a call saying I needed 4 tires and a wheel alignment because the tire was able to be patched due to its location. They said my front tires I got 6 months ago were worn down and needed to be replaced. I told them I just got the tires and they put me on hold and said oh your tires are just a different style and are fine.....I will not go back and just wait the extra day rather then having a company try and get 700 dollars on a 20 dollar patch. I recently visited this location to help my father get legitimate repairs made to his car. He has been going to another garage for years and was told that he needed many repairs that would exceed the value of his car. Firestone looked at all of these supposed problems and found that they weren't necessary. They allowed me to go under the vehicle to see for myself. John spent a great deal of time explaining everything they found. Had the repairs done for a fair price and my dad was happy and saved a great deal of money. I recommend this location. read more

I called to make an appointment for an oil change. I specifically stated that I called for an appointment because the car (2008 Porsche Cayenne S) used both an uncommon oil and filter that they'd probably not have in stock. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told it was "going to take a while" because they had to order the filter. I told the guy I'd called ahead of time specifically for that reason, and he said they don't order parts in advance. That would have been good info to have when I called. That's a waste of 40 minutes of my time driving there and back. read more

Always wait forever here, so I made an appointment for just an oil change because I had somewhere to be. An hour and half later and my car still is up on the lift with no one attending to it. I've tried to give Firestone the benefit of the doubt, and have used the West Haven location and the Wallingford location in the past. But the company's policy seems to be to try and upsell (female) customers on parts and fixes they DON'T need and wasting people's time. In my most recent visit to Firestone in Wallingford I had my oil changed and asked to have my tires re-aligned (I had previously purchased tires that came with a lifetime free alignment). I was told that the tires could NOT be realigned because I had bad tire rods which needed to be replaced AND my tires were cracked and in rough shape. They tried to get me to agree to over $700 in repairs. After a 4-hour oil change, I took my car and sought a second opinion at a mom-and-pop shop in Meriden. The guy there assured me that the tire rods were fine (even went so far as to demonstrate how secure they were) and that my tires were in good shape. He didn't even charge me to get it checked out. I'm through with Firestone which clearly cares nothing about customer loyalty or doing the right thing. read more

Dropped my car off for an alignment. A week or so after picking it up, I realized that there was a dent in my brand new 2018 corolla. The dent was under the back passenger door, right near the tire, where only a lift could damage. The paint was chipped, but no scratches. It was not there when I washed the car a few days earlier, (before I took the car into Firestone). I did not put the dent there. It looks like someone tried to lift the car in the wrong spot and did not realize it until the damage was done... Spent $189 for lifetime unlimited alignments and got a huge body work bill. I went to firestone for years just for oil changes , they were good until they started telling me stuff was wrong with my car, and went for second opinion and nothing wrong ! Last time I had my oil changed asked them to check my AC.. said the compressor or electrical issue with AC. Wanted to charge me another 120.00 for further evaluation . Brought it to Chics because I know Tonywho is awsome . Nothing wrong with my AC at all, works just fine !!!! These people try to rip off their customers, I called their corporate office, and they don't seem to care , probably push them to deceive their customers. BAD VERY VERY BAD!! This place sucks. I made an appointment and it still took over 2 hours to get an oil change. Then they told me I had to get a tire sensor fixed for an extra $140. I just got it fixed somewhere else a couple months ago, but the sensor was in the guy's hand and they already took it out so now I have no choice but to buy another one. I hate that I can't just get an oil change and they have to try to get more money out of me. I wouldn't be surprised if something happens with my other tires in the next few weeks. Very surprised at all the bad reviews. Used this location two times to change tires on two different cars (tires were purchased online). Today had a wheel alignment service as well. Both times - quick, efficient service, super polite, all charges well explained, my car was on the lift within 5 minutes of the appointment time, done within 90 minutes. They replaced my alternator in a quick and timely fashion; but when I received my car, I found that my power steering pump was also on it way out ; bad timing, but the desk attendant helped me with a quote for the service if need be. I Wish the mechanic would've keyed in on the sound, while being under the hood for another service ;then tell me while I'm checking out. In the end I'm satisfied with the overall service. read more

On 11/15/2018 I called them up to have tires to be put installed on my car. They said it would take a bit but they would get it done in a few hours at the cost of $20. I drove there and told them to put the mounted snows on the car as they were marked since they have studs in them. If the tires are reversed in direction of travel the studs will come out.They said okay. I waited 3.5 hours for 4 tires to be taken off and the already 4 mounted tires to be put on.At which time the broke a stud on the front axle. And told me it will cost $110 for the broken stud they broke. I had to agree to this since one would not want to drive 25 miles with 1 out of the 4 studs be broken. They fixed the stud in 20 mins . I asked could they charge the shop rate for this since it was only 20 mins....no answer was given . Shop rate 125/hour.Before i went to drive the car i looked at the tires and found 2 tires were on backwards. When this was pointed out they changed the tires . In the end it was almost 4 hours and $134.52 dollars for my 4 tires to be changed. Sad day for me, great day for firestone in wallingford! This place is not worth one Starr I brought my Kia Sorento in for its 60,000 mile tune up timing belt ect. why I didn't bring it to Kia because I was short on cash and I had a Firestone credit card well long story short they weren't able to do the tune up correctly it took them 3 months to try and get it rite and they couldn't so they sent it to Kia down the road and they did the job after Firestone charged me $4,000 . During the 3 months of Firestone trying to fix it as I was waiting in the waiting area a women had come in and said her transmission was acting up the so call mechanic took her car in then came back out and told her someone added to much transmission fluid she said well you guys just did a tune up on it topped off all the fluids he said well someone put to much in it will be $165.00 to fix she said ok so I told her my story as we both waited to be ripped off. To end my review I now take my car to a private mechanic who is honest and fair priced he just did a 100,000 mile tune up on my Kia as he was changing the wires and plugs he also noticed my engine said 2003 my Kia is a 2004 that I had bought brand new where did the 2003 engine come from ???? Kia or Firestone ??? I drive by this Firestone often and it's always busy I feel bad that people are getting ripped off by them I hope this review helps. read more

Was using these guys for the past year, however I had my son's car towed there for new struts. They originally quoted me $866.00. I told them that it needed at least 1 new spring. They called me back to tell me that the car needed 2 new springs and the additional charge would be another $900.00!!! That's a total of $1,700.00!!! The springs were more than the original work!! And this was just for the parts as to change the struts, you already have to remove the springs, and then replace. I got a quote from NAPA for springs and end caps and retail these parts are $200.00. That means they were marking these up $700.00!!! Talk about a bunch of rip-off artists! When I confronted Mike the Manager on this, we argued and he told me that he'd have his manager get back to me. Mike calls me back to say the manager's not available and for me to come down and get my car out of there (after I paid to have it towed there). I told Mike that I was a regular customer and he told me he didn't care, and to get my car out of there. He said that "Firestone doesn't need your business"! I told Mike I'd go over his head and he states, "You can go as high up the ladder you want. Nothing will happen"! Needless to say, I had the car towed for fear of reprisal, and had it towed to Avery Bros. in Wallingford. Avery Bros. did all of the work for $700.00 less than these guys! I'd never go to Firestone again. As a matter of fact, I'm going to cut-up my Firestone card and mail it to them! They got caught ripping me off. Do yourselves a favor and never go here! Had a great experience. I called and spoke to Ethan the day before the blizzard. I wanted 4 tires for my Tahoe. They were booked but he said " come on down". Not only did he get the job done, I ended up paying $300 less than the last tires cost me four years ago. I was so happy that I had my sister bring her Volkswagen up two days later and Ethan gave her a great deal on 4 new tires. Awesome customer service. read more

Never less than a two hour wait to have my tires switched in spite of having an appointment. Today when I brought my car on for the tire switch I was told "about an hour". I waited for an hour and a half and after I complained because my car was off the lift and sitting on the floor for over 30 mins I finally got my car. I've been using this location for just over 4 years, they have always been good to be but last week they really blew me away. I had gone in for an unexpected brake noise. My right front brakes started grinding and I had no clue why. They got me in same day without question. They took a look at my brakes while I was waiting and after they had looked at it they brought me out and showed me how my right front brake caliper was staying applied causing my brake to always be on. They didn't have the part in stock but assured me they could have it fixed in a few hours. Without asking they offered me a ride to work, they even arranged picking me up, and I was back to normal the same night. Just to be thorough I called around and got prices elsewhere even though I had already authorized the work, turns out they were cheaper then monro, meineke and pep boys. There was one local shop who said he could beat their price but he wouldn't commit to a price without taking my car to him first which I thought was a little odd. Honestly I felt kind of silly even questioning them after that. They will continue to earn my business! read more

Went that schedule day.The staff at the desk (another guy) told me it will take for an hour coz there's five cars in front of me thats also waiting . How can they scheduled 5 cars at about same time . I've been a loyal Firestone customer for several years. I have an extensive commute everyday for work, and as a result rely on quality vehicle maintenance. I brought my vehicle in on 04/18/15 for some routine items, oil change, possible rear brake pads. I receive a call saying that I do need rear brakes including new rotors. I agree for the work to be done and I'm also informed the brake coupon will be applied giving me an estimate of $378.00 for everything. Upon getting off the phone it was bothering me as I felt like I had just replaced my rotors. I wasn't in a position at that moment to check any of my maintenance records. And since I've been a long time loyal customer there was also a level of trust I had established with Firestone. And since I have all my maintenance done there, they would be well aware of my last rotor replacement. I went to pick up my vehicle I was somewhat rushed out the door as it was near closing time and the employee cashing me out was too busy chatting with another customer. My bill was almost $100 more from the quote I received over the phone. At first I thought it was because he hadn't included the oil change etc. Upon review at home, the brake discount was not applied. Even more disturbing is that I had new rotors put on in September. There was no pulsating or vibrating while braking to indicate my rotors had warped beyond being able to be cut. Is Firestone now in the business of taking advantage of customers? I'm extremely disappointed and outraged. I will be finding a reputable business who will not over charge or try to get over on their customers for my somewhat frequent maintenance needs. I would like to think that this didn't happen because I'm a woman, however since I no longer have any faith with your company maybe these are normal business practices. I would give them less than 1 star if I could. I purchased a set of snow tires and told them to keep the all season tires and put them in the back seat. Since snow tires are only used for a few months a year here in CT, it should have been obvious to keep the other set of tires, but they threw them away. When I ask for them, they supposedly "sent someone to look for them" that day and brushed me off when I followed up later. Then they gave me the runaround for about two weeks with many hours on the phone and making trips down there to speak with the manager. The only thing I ever received was serious attitude from EVERY employee with whom I interacted. No one made any effort to help me and they seemed annoyed by my repeated efforts and general presence. I simply wanted to either get my tires back or be compensated with any set of similarly worn used tires, yet still they wouldn't do anything to help resolve the situation.
