Neil was so sincere, honest and knowledgeable when talking to me about the many repairs my can needed. He organized and guided me with the order of importance to make sure I had a safe vehicle to drive! As a woman, its very easy to be taken advantage of however,I never once felt that he was trying to "get over on me" and just take my money! My first delt with a repair in relation to a loud noise from what I was explained was a bearing issue in the rear. Along with a new alignment and other services, the repairs were made at a very high cost. There was no noice and the car was in good shape. In a few months, the same exact noise returned. I returned it to Saf T Auto only to discover that the caliper was "frozen" and I needed more repairs that would cost $1,300 +. It was explained that the bearing was not the issue this time around. It was the caliper. I decided that alone should be fixed because I simply could not afford to pay the larger cost. I was assured the caliper replacement would fix the issue with the noise. After the repairs, I picked up my vehicle and drove off and immediately my alert AWD light came on. I returned back to the Saf T Auto where they fixed the alert light. After traveling less than two minutes, the same exact noise that was the issue to begin with returned. I contacted Neil. He said that the bearings will have to be changed after all. I refused to pay for additional services because the part was under warranty by Saf T Auto. Neil concede that it was and explained that it will be fixed at all cost in three more days. What troubled me the most was that the underlined issue of the noise conming from the rear was never repaired after I was assured that the caliper was the issue. And to insinuate that the bearings needed to be changed at an additional cost intially then to confirm that they were under warranty after I refused to pay the cost is severely suspect. No apologies we're given. No "we will repair as soon as possible." I was told it was safe to drive around with damaged bearings. Somehow, I believe that is not an accurate statement. I'd give no stars if I could to reflect this second visit.

I've been coming to them for my periodic emissions testing for many years, starting when they were at their previous location. I decided that when my Nissan pickup truck needed any sort of repairs I'd bring it to them. I called a few days ago to arrange having the brakes serviced on my truck. When I called, I was greeted by a friendly voice of a young woman whe gave me a day to bring it in. On that day, I went to the service window and that young lady greeted me and said she'd give me a call later that day when they could tell me what the cost would be and when it would be completed. Later that day she phoned and told me the amount of the bill and said the job would be completed by end of the day. The price wasn't cheap (I wasn't expecting it to be), but I'm more concerned with quality & value. I told her that I arranged to pick it up the following morning, if that was ok. A little later that day she phoned once again to let me know the work was completed, just for my information. I appreciate that they communicate so well with their customers, and I'm very satisfied with the work they did. I learned just now from the owner's response that I can have my oil & filter changed while I wait, with an appointment made in advance. So I'm upping my review to five stars! I was driving at night, got off exit at 2am and had to sleep in my van in 0 degree temperatures. Chris invited me to come to his shop and let me jump to the front of the line on his very busy day. I was in by 8:10 am. He got my van diagnosed, parts delivered and I was back on the road after lunchtime. I am so grateful to him to help me get back on the road. I am a dog/house sitter and I was expected in Annapolis that night. The homeowner had already left the country for a trip. Chris and his team were not only professional but generous in their efforts to help me. I was told where I could get lunch and I was able to sit in his waiting area for hours, have bathroom access and even had a fireplace turned on because I was cold. His office manager was so gracious and helpful to me. Thank you Chris and his team: wonderful people.

The reason for the breakdown wasn't found at this time but was found later at s different garage but that didn't stop these predators from finding something that needed to be done. I ended up agreeing to having the breaks done, which I've had done numerous times before so I knew what it should cost. These predators charged me twice the going rate. Ken is the man!…read more While at another well-known tire store, I was informed after a tire rotation, that my rear breaks were at 3mm and needed work. I was quoted $399. Something didn't feel right, so I contacted Ken at Safe Auto Service and made an appointment. I brought the car to Safe Auto. They did a test drive and pulled the wheels apart for inspection. Ken informed me my brake pads were good and did NOT need service. He could have just as easily confirmed I needed work and charged me. An HONEST man! I now have a new repair shop going forward.

I wound up with a flat tire in the Stop & Shop parking lot across the street from Plunske's. No…read moreproblem, I figured: I know how to change a tire. But it was a rental car, and I immediately discovered there was no spare tire -- just a device to inject fix-a-flat goo and compressed air into the flat. I'd never seen such a device before, so I walked over to Plunske's and asked for their advice. The first person I spoke to dropped what he was doing to help me figure out how to use the gizmo. I returned to my car, reinflated the tire, and drove it to Plunske's. There I encountered a second employee -- Dan, I think -- who was just as friendly and even more helpful. He removed the tire, carefully checked it visually for holes or leaks, immersed it in water to look for bubbles (and found none), replaced it on the car, made sure it was properly reinflated, and sent me on my way. The whole process with Dan took about 30-40 minutes, and he couldn't have been nicer or more thorough. I'm very grateful for the assistance of both people who helped me at Plunske's.
