i am sorry but you guys deserve No stars on this one so when I called at 6pm on monday the 3rd I was placed on hold for 5 minutes then someone picked up failed to tell me his name that for 1 and 2 I ask how much will it cost me to get a sensor put on the new tires that I just got today the guys said repeat yourself in a nasty tone I said really I have to repeat myself again then the guy said something then hang up on me so I try to call back want more and kept hanging up on me now I'm sorry you can f*** your stars I am going to cancel out my credit card with you and your service I'm sorry that a hell no for me as a customer I will not be disrespected though you guys again so good job show everyone your true color so this be a reason why my service going to Costco they have better understanding then you firestorm have at least they won't hang up on there customers good job and for the person that never give me his name I will be calling corporate in the morning thanks but no thanks lost my service for good read more

I brought the car in for an oil change and some replacement filters. The technicians recommended all sorts of work that I know the car didn't need (because I had just had that work done a couple months previous). When I asked for details about the condition of the parts they recommended work on (tires, brakes, etc.), the state of each component was perfectly fine. The only exception was the brake fluid, for which they showed me a *dry* Litmus test, which could have been from any car. They refused to perform the acidity test again in front of me or give me the paper from the test they claimed to have done (so I could show it to the other auto place I had the brakes done). Furthermore, the service adviser I had was completely unprofessional: trash talking the competitor's business, trash talking the manager at the competitor (a former Firestone employee), cursing in front of me and my wife, etc. When I brought the car back to the competitor, they showed me directly where a couple issues were (not nearly the work Firestone wanted to charge me for) and they did it for free. read more

I came in for brake pads and an oil change, pretty standard. Got a call back saying that I needed new rotors too...no biggie. I noticed the next day that the steering wheel starts to vibrate when I hit 60 on the highway. After being told I have to wait an hour and a half, they add insult to injury saying that my wheels need to be balanced and they are charging me $55 to do it. Hang on.....isn't that part of the tire rotation that was included when they did the breaks??? Awful. Never coming back. I would give it half a star if I could. read more

Okay...So here's my story...I'm just your typical single mother and I have a 1996 Nissan Quest with 188,000 miles on it. They don't even make parts for this vehicle any longer, but I love my minivan and we're growing old together. Let me rephrase that...we've already arrived at old together. Lol. I've had her over a decade now. Of course she's gonna need serious work on occasion. Don't we all? Well I got an estimate from Firestone for all the work that was needed and no one in their right mind thought it was worth it. I hate that we live in a disposable society. Out with the old, in with the new...(that's why I'm single)..huge car payments, expensive full coverage insurance, and for what...luxury that I really can't afford. I'm not doing it! But that's my choice. Ya know what makes a good auto repair service station GREAT? Honest Management and exceptionally skillful employees. At this Firestone in Wayne, they have an AMAZING team that I can't say enough positive things about. Mike (the head honcho), Dave, Ally, Kenny...they're so patient and understanding of your needs. They do their best to give you quality work and quality parts that fit within your budget. They take their time to make their customers satisfied above and beyond expectations. I kid you not. Keep in mind, this amazing corporation with top of the line qualified technicians has overhead, so they can't give away services. Again...we live in a haggling society where everyone wants something for nothing. But that's just not reality. If you want the best work done on your expensive luxury vehicles or even that old beat up clunker that you refuse to junk, and you want quality at an honest reasonable, realistic price, these guys will, without doubt exceed your expectations. They work VERY hard to make their customers happy. I know...I just had one of their top mechanics "ROSS" do an over abundant amount of labor on my old van just to get it safe again so I can drive my challenged child to her out of district school everyday. She gets sick taking a bus. I felt so bad for him. I've never seen anyone work so hard. One of my rear brake drums was so rusted, it just wouldn't come off. (It was an original part, 20 years old) and a major headache. I had cylinders that were leaking so bad, I'm surprised I still had any brakes. Okay...I admit I barely had brakes, and completely shot out tires, hence the need for a visit there. I know this is hard to believe, but it's true...I bought 2 inexpensive Primewell 40,000 mile tires from them 10 years ago and got 55,000 miles out of them before having to replace them this week. I kid you not! Personally, I have serious trust issues with repair shops from past experience, so I literally sat there and watched Ross put 17 long challenging hours into my old rusty van over the coarse of this past week. They actually let me sit there as if I were a supervisor. Who does that? Okay...I admit, I might have driven Ross the mechanic crazy at times taking him out of flow with my inquisitive questions. I don't recommend doing that. Genius Artists can be so temperamental. But with the discounts they gave me, no one can tell me Chivalry is dead. They're Hero's in my eyes. Especially Ross and his manager Mike. G*d bless them! What an experience! They both took the time to show me the old broken parts to compare with the new. OMG! I can't even believe the risk I was taking driving that hazard on the roads. They completely understood my situation and worked with corporate to get my van up and running like new again. I'm absolutely overwhelmingly impressed and extremely grateful! Thanks Mike and Ross, you literally saved our lives! You guys are the best! I'm so sorry I'm one of the hagglers, you guys work very hard and deserve a huge bonus from corporate at Christmas. I love those guys and you will too when you see for yourself how much they're willing to bend over backwards to keep their customers satisfied. Did an oil change on my truck and they diagnosed my A/C issue for me for under $120. Usually I pay $80 for oil plus another 15 for the filter as its a big Diesel engine but I was feeling lazy. Was done within 2 hours as promised. I used to be a service advisor at another shop and they werent pushy on anything at all. $9.99 AC Check is a good deal just don't be surprised at what they will tell you the cost is to fix it or recharge. read more

This is the only place I will take my fleet vehicle for service, new tires etc. Anthony and Kenny stayed past closing to make sure my car had new tires and I could get to work the next day. Kenny was planning on working late anyway because he was waiting for a customer's car to be towed in after 7pm. It's clear they have a great customer service culture here. Today after going here for many years I'm left feeling that unnecessary work was done, my check engine light came on last week and so I took it in this morning to be told 2 codes one Cam shaft sensor and the other P0740 transmission which Firestone would not be involve with repairing so would have to take it to a dealership or transmission specialist shop my car has over 100 K therefore out of warranty. The person who told me this said that when they cleared the codes only one came back which was the Cam shaft sensor one and that is what probably lead to the P0740 so upon hearing that I decided it would be worth changing it out, well after the work was done shortly after driving home my check engine light came right back on , took it to PEP boys closer to me to be told it is the P0740 code and upon doing research the causes to that issue has nothing to do with a cam shaft sensor so his comment that one would affect the other was not valid and misleading and is the only reason I decided to change the cam shaft sensor if not I would had left and schedule with the dealer or a transmission specialist which is the outcome anyway but now I'm out $500 before doing so. I felt kicked while I am down considering the repair to truly fix the check engine would be a more costly one now. I rather had not spent the money on the cam shaft that didn't resolve my issue, not a good feeling coming from a location I have brought both my wife and my car into for many years and have given several thousand dollars worth of business too, Pep boys would be my location of choice from here on, the mechanic at Peps boys told me he would had sent me in that direction first instead having me spend money knowing it would't resolve the P0740 issue which is a possible transmission solenoid problem nothing to do with the cam shaft. read more

Worst ever had a appointment to get 4 tire they had all my informatoin. After 3 and a 1/2 hours they finally finished 923 dollars later. And as I was waiting for them to put my tires on 4 people with no appointment came and went, one for a tire, 1 for a battery/altinator and 2 others for some type of work. If you google Firestone Autocare you fill find numerous complaints in various states about the service this company provides like how their car breaks down, overpriced, advised to make unncessary repairs, etc. I felt that I needed to give them a chance still and the big banner saying $14.99 oil change convinced me to go to them for an oil change. Well, I asked about the $14.99 deal but was told that the deal is through signing up with the Firestone credit card. But the deal through teh credit card was for 3 oil changes at $27.99 (normal price $25.99) so was the $14.99 a false advertisment or did I just get suckered into signing up for another credit card? I dropped the car off at 5:30 p.m. and was told that I can pick it up at 7:00 p.m. (their closing time) - I came back to check on the status at 6:50 p.m. and the car was still parked outside untouched. At 6:55 p.m. I see the car finally taken inside - in my mind I'm thinking, its going to be a poor job they doing as the mechanic is probably trying to finish for the day and go home. At about 7:20 p.m. I get the keys and car is ready to go. I feel like there's a big risk of the mechanic messing up the car more than fixing it. I think next time is back to the local mechanic. read more

Well they had the odd ball tire size I needed, but they were very very pushy with the upsell and insisted I get an alignment (I had just had the car aligned, that's why I needed new tires). We received a coupon for $99 brakes and rotor resurfacing which lured us into the shop. We needed both front and rear brakes done and two front tires replaced. My husband asked the representative about the resurfacing procedure and how often is that actually done over having to have the rotors replaced. Of course we got the standard, we won't know till we look at it response. We get a call later in the afternoon saying all the rotors needed to be replaced and with the tires it would cost close to $1300. The woman on the phone said the brakes needed to be special ordered. I have a Honda Accord, the most common car on the road. Umm, I don't think so. When we picked up the car I was given a very confusing estimate receipt with work adding up to over $3000. I'm sorry, what? For brakes? I ended up bringing the car to the dealer for service and the rotors were resurfaced with no issues, two new tires and an oil change for $900. In closing, when bringing your car into a national place for service, the representatives should make you feel comfortable and confident you are getting the best service possible. These representatives had standard non committal responses which is no real answer. When I asked the same questions of the rep at the dealer I got a complete and informative answer with approximate pricing for all scenarios before they even looked at the car. Took my car there for low tire pressure warning because I have a Firestone warranty. They asked if I wanted them to look over everything while I was there, so I said yes. Proceeded to come back with about $350 worth of work they said needed to be done. I said no thanks and took it my mechanic, who said NOTHING was wrong with the car. The team at Firestone was AMAZING. I came in with a flat tire on a rental car, and the team was friendly and supportive, going above and beyond to help. They even stayed past business hours to help, and were the ones to get on the phone with the rental company and take care of charges so I wouldn't have to. Went here for an oil change. The service was good and at a fair price with a coupon i printed and brought in, but the wait time extremely long. They estimated it taking 40-60 mins so i opted to just wait in the waiting room. The actual time was a little over 2 hours. So i was pleased with the oil change and the professionalism of the techs, but that wait time was my only complaint. read more

took car in for front wheel balance and asked to check alignment. they balanced front wheels and told me alignment was good and priced tires for a later date. my service rep Ken was helpful and polite. when i got on the road there was no change in the way car drove , but my pocket was lighter. oh and on the way home my hood light came on they never shut it and I don't know why they were under it to begin with. I wish I had looked at this before. I had the same experience as Mike W. I went in for an oil change and $186 bucks later I was up sold on break fluid failure. When your 19 year old son is driving the car you listen. They also wanted to charge me $90 to run a 2 minute diagnostic on the check engine light. AutoZone does it for free! I purchased a 2013 Nissan Altima S from Enterprise Car Sales at Elmwood Park NJ in March 2015. Shortly after i soon discovered several problems with the vehicle, such as a grinding sound on acceleration. I was informed to take the vehicle to firestone saddlebrook nj and they told me they found no problems. I then was told to take the car to firestone wayne nj and was told they found no problem. The car was then took to Nissan in bloomfield nj and they determined it was the alternator which needed to be replaced...I still had issues with the car and was referred back to firestone wayne nj and you guessed it..they found no problems. The point here is i believe their service dept is lazy and incompetant and it starts with their so called management..I personally would not recommend anyone taking their vehicle to those 2 locations... read more

I went in because I had a thunk/clunk in my vehicle and while I had previously given up on Firestone overall, these guys were helpful the last time I was there. However, while they are friendly and professional, I'm not too sure about their diagnostic abilities. After about 2 hours they told me they couldn't figure out the problem and said to wait until the problem got worse. I'm not sure what kind of response that is, but I left well enough alone as I didn't feel like fussing. I went elsewhere shortly after and within 15 minutes they found the culprit and told me what it was. Turns out it's the steering rack (which I mentioned to the Firestone tech when he told me they couldn't figure it out, as I had read online that may very well be the issue). I'm not sure if maybe they just didn't want to tackle the job or what, but it is what it is. I only paid $15 for an inspection (which included a tire rotation that I needed anyway) and I was on my way, no harm no foul. My trust on their expertise on the other hand..... read more

I scheduled an appointment on my day off for an oil change. Simple enough. I had a coupon for 19.99 drove the 30 minutes there at the right time and walked in the cold to the movies down the street. I get a call saying that "I am very sorry but I don't feel comfortable changing your oil" I asked "Why" and he said because my hood was damaged. I have been to This location Many times never had an issues and while my hood doesn't close fully it has a strong latch and has never blown up. I offered to sign a waiver, whatever they requested but he said No to everything. Heck they could have tied it down themselves but No. I wasted over an hour and a half of my time and was made to feel like a crook ( like I am gonna sue him or something) and for what a 15 minute job which btw Always takes them like 2-3 HOURS!!! Very disappointing. He was surprised I was going to right this review like my time and my reputation mean nothing to me. I may mnot have much but at least I have common decency and a sense of duty to my fellow man. Don't waste your time with this place. read more

I've never had anything but GREAT experiences with this business. I bring both of my vehicles and my husband's vehicle here for all repairs and maintenance. They're always quick to fix/service whatever the vehicle is there for and their communication is phenomenal. I have gone to this Firestone for several years for tires and occasional service on my vehicles and have usually been satisfied, but on my most recent visit this month, negative changes were evident. Firstly, the experienced manager and long time service staff were gone and replaced by new and inexperienced personnel, who spent much of their time lallygagging behind the counter. Secondly, they have raised their prices. For example, they are charging over $70 for an oil change now. Thirdly, they tried to push unnecessary repairs. For example, they recommended an oil change because my oil was supposedly low. My oil had been changed only 1000 miles prior and if it was low, only needed topping off. They also said their electronic diagnostics indicated my battery was weakening but my battery is only 6 months old and I have had no problems with it. The whole experience was very uncomfortable and just felt wrong. I no longer trust this place. I would not recommend it anymore. read more

If you value your car at all, you will avoid this shop for any service. I went initially to get an alignment because I had independently purchased wheels and suspension for my car. After the suspension installed, it is recommended you get an alignment, so I did at this Firestone. Along with that I got a vehicle inspection because the passenger side front strut assembly was making noise over bumps. I watched them work on my car because I value my automobile. This shop left a minor dent in my passenger front fender trying to get it on a lift, and they over tightened my lug nuts, after I specifically told them not to. As a result I get home to put my new wheels on (because I don't trust any shop touching brand new aesthetic parts) and one of my lug nut studs sheered off. I wasn't upset, I just took it back the following week. They told me they would replace it no charge. Ok, fine. I keep an eye on my car again while they are working on it. To replace the stud the entire suspension hub and knuckle assembly has to be removed. They also had to do a wheel bearing because of this. I witnessed some an employed treat my car very badly while working on it. He left my brake caliper hanging with all of its tension on the brake line, he dropped my brake disc on the ground without care, and when it came time to reinstall the hub and wheel bearing, he tried using a hammer instead of a press like you are supposed to to get it back into place. As a result, my personal diagnosis brings me to the conclusion that my hub assembly is bent or warped from hitting it with the hammer because my steering wheel vibrates at 70 mph now. I have never had this happen on my car in the 4 years I've owned it. All of this is unacceptable from a shop in my opinion. What kind of half ass joke of a place are they running here. The employees are kind but they aren't knowledgeable and treat everything with out care. They disrespected my property right in front of me. I told the guy from outside the shop door to be careful, and he just told me to stay outside. This place is just another bullshit shop and I don;t recommend it. I'm going elsewhere for my next repair as a result of their mess up. read more
