In my opinion, avoid. I really wanted to like them as it was my home shop (Encore) before it was bought by Firos II. With Encore, I really loved it and could drop of my car whenever and expect quick and quality service. That's not the case anymore. In general, my experience is that they are slow with the work and bad with communication. First time in, I had an issue with my Tire Pressure Monitor. I took it in the morning, said it would be done by 3pm, because I needed the car to get my kiddo. They said no problem. By mid-day I had heard nothing, called them and they said it would not be finished. Ok, took it back another day, again early. This time they handed it back to me same day and said good to go, but to let them know if the Tire Pressure warning light comes on because they did not have a chance to drive it long enough to reset. Unfortunately, the light did come back on and after a third visits with them the light came back again. At that point I just gave up trying to fix it with them. Took it to Discount Tires, and had it fixed within an hour. Based on that, I should have known better but wanted to give them a second chance. When my clutch failed. They turned it around in 1.5 days. At first, this was a decent experience at first (keep reading below), but then, after the first quote, they finally looked into the vehicle and said they clutch replacement kit they purchased needed something more. That was unfortunate and expensive, but it needed to be done. So 2 months after the clutch, the front wheels started to bobble on tight turns. Took it to them in the afternoon and knowing they are slow, I knew not to expect it the same day. Totally fine. But then the next day, it was 11a when I called them at which point they let me know they had not even looked at it. This time, I had enough, and just picked it up and took it to another shop (finally, I know). At the next shop, super quick turnaround, but here's the kicker, as they were examining, they let me know the looked at the clutch. And they said "whoever did your clutch job, had no idea what they were doing." They also mentioned that one of the bolts (axel nuts) should have been torqued to 165lb, but that it was done to over 200lb+, they couldn't even remove it without a gun. They speculated that Firos had also damaged the wheel hub in the clutch replacement. So that was my experience with Firos and I'm trying to be as accurate as possible. I guess I was expecting the high quality, great communication, and efficiency of the previous owner. My advice to Firos is they need some more experienced mechanics to help with turnaround and quality work, the front desk needs to call people with updates--even texts would be great--and help set expectations for turnaround time. Lastly, don't give quotes until you've properly reviewed the vehicle. Hope it helps those looking through reviews and to the business owner. read more

In May this year when we drive our Sprinter van to Chicago Restaurant Expo for exhibition, when we entering Denver city for breakfast, our van check engine light came on and immediately losing power, driving speed drop to 40 miles or less per hour, we try to call many auto repair shop in Denver, non of them were willing to fix our van the same day. We fortunately meet one of the very nice local driver passed by asking us if we need help, after telling him our situation and we have to rush to Chicago for exhibits, he was very very kind for spending his time calling his mechanic friend for referral, and connect us with Firo repair, after Firo owner Luis learn about our situation, he told us drive by and put us in priority. He and his team work overtime that evening repairing our van and we able to hit the road after 6:30pm the same day. I caught Encore Automotive & Tires illegally dumping tires in the alley behind my house. Not only that, but the guy who dumped the tires checked the handle on my vehicle to see if it was unlocked. I guess because two crimes are better then one? I called Encore and spoke with a gentleman who said that he loaned that truck to someone else and he wasn't responsible. I gave him an opportunity to come back and pick up the tires before filing a police report. He chose not to do the right thing. read more

I made the mistake of ordering tires on tirebuyer.com and supposedly this shop is part of their installation network. I called them and the shop tells me that they received 8 tires but he didn't have any notification of what they were for and he returned them. I don't think that's very reliable. 1 Star is being Generous I'd give 0 stars if I could I've been a customer of Keung and Encore AutoMotive for years and sometimes he would fix stuff but the last time I picked my car up from his shop somebody had backed into my car and you could tell there was front end damage with the front Humber popping out a little bit and license plate bent it so when I confronted him he said "maybe one of my customers hit it" and I asked if he had cameras but never offered to look. So anyways I said he doesn't fix things because I've had 2 clutches and 2 cattle attic converter's done in the last 5 years on the same car he got out of me. But this last stunt of my car being wrecked was the last of it especially because he couldn't be honest about it and tell me what happened so you be the judge if you wanna do business with Mr. Keung but I wouldnt trust Don in there either. We used to use these guys all the time for my work and they were slow, but ok and convenient. However my last experience ensured that I will never return. I got my tires mounted and balanced along with an alignment back in February. One tire had a small leak immediately after they were installed. And also, the wheel got worse and worse at higher speeds with a slight vibration, meaning the tires were not balanced correctly. I brought the car back in, due to the issues being small and it being hard to make time, it is now June. I called ahead to make sure I could stop in before going to work to make sure they could do it, and he assured me they could. I get there and my car sat in the parking lot for an entire hour. When they finally pulled it in, he said my front tires were wearing on the outside, and when I said they aligned it, all he had to say was "potholes, winter" very rudely. He said the leak was caused by the chrome on the wheel not sealing, which should have been fixed in the first place. And to top it off they rebalanced and rotated, and the vibration is just as bad, only in the rear now. Needless to say, I will not return. read more

Encore was recommended by Dave of Automotive Revival after describing a Prius brake noise to them over the phone. Sure enough, after a test drive and about 10 minutes of work, Kiang of Encore removed the noise. We were in the last half of a cross country drive and the were a couple of loose things in the suspension, and the lugs of one front wheel were a bit loose. Toyota forums entries with similar problems share experienced of hundreds, if not thousands of dollars of repair costs. After more than 3 months of promises, I'm still hoping the owners of Encore Automotive will do the right thing. After paying them $900 to replace a fuel pump and starter, my car was wrecked while at their shop. The entire front end was crashed. After telling me they could not make the car run, $900 later, I went to pick up the car to take it somewhere else and found it crashed. The owners who I still believe are good, honest people, promised me they would have the body damage repaired - that was in October. I offered to file a claim with their insurance company, but they insisted they would fix it without involving their insurance. I've called to check on the car almost weekly and each time was told they were trying to match the paint color. In early January, I called and Don told me the body shop needs the car to be running in order to get it into the bay. Today (January 31, 2018), I called and pleaded with the other owner, (Don's partner) again and initially he said the body shop needs the car to be running to get it into the bay area. I suggested that all they have to do is tow the car and push it into the bay, but in any case, its a problem they need to figure out since they are responsible for the body damage. I am only asking them to repair the body damage since it was wrecked on their property while in their care. I asked for the name of their insurance agent and again they promised to fix the damage without filing a claim. I'm still hoping these guys will do the right thing. I can't help but wonder if its because I'm a woman that they are taking advantage of me. read more
