While I'm certain the dentists here have proper education and experience, I want to share my own experience with the front desk staff as new patients. I was looking for a nearby new dentist for myself and my husband since our old dentist moved a few cities over. From the very first phone interaction to the last phone interaction and even in person, it was a mess. There seems to be a language barrier and/or communication difficulties. I was sick so I rescheduled my appointment but let my husband go first. When he arrived, apparently they didn't even have him down for appt. I wasn't surprised as every time I called in, whoever picks up the phone seemed to be confused or not understand. They saw him anyway that day. Being that it was after Christmas but before New Year holiday, they said they couldn't verify our insurance so they only took X-rays and sent him home until they could get pre-authorization from our insurance for deep cleaning instead of a regular cleaning. We have approached week 3 now and each week I have called in to inquire status but the front desk woman (older, Korean) says she will call me back without being able to fully explain anything. I understand pre auths take time but my issue is that my husband is a new patient and instead of giving a regular cleaning to start off, they automatically wanted to jump to deep cleaning. Since then, week after week, communication is non existent unless I call in to inquire status but even that is unclear. The front office woman would also tell me she will call be back after lunch but does not follow through. I have never experienced such difficulty going to a dentist office that lagged this hard and unable to fully communicate with ease. There are way tooooo many dental offices within a 2 mile radius that accepts our insurance to settle with this sub par service. On my final call, i asked how much is X-rays cash price in which I was told $80. I was going to stop in to pay for the services received so that we can find another provider but they said they already changed our insurance--- which is fine but we won't be going back to this dentist office. read more

This dental office has got to be the most subpar place that I've experienced--and I've been to a handful (even for accompanying my relatives/friends). I think I'm being rather reasonable as I'm not even going over the top by saying that "it's the worst" place ever," which there seems to be some reviewers out there who tend to be quite overreactive. Anyway, I took my parents the First Choice Dental after researching a new dentist for them with good reviews, which I'm still confused about. 1) Dr. Jeon wasn't even there. I was very puzzled and even thought that we had come to the wrong office. I just shrugged off thinking they had another doctor who worked there along with Dr. Jeon; NOPE. Now I don't know if Dr. Jeon only comes in certain days or for specific procedures but that can come across as deceit since only Dr. Jeon's photo and information was on their website as if he was the managing. 2) The older doctor with a Korean dialect that was instead there constantly urged my mother for an implant DESPITE her expressing her desire not to as this point in time. As it happens, the whole staff there was money hungry about implants being that they kept bringing it up to almost all their patients--who are mostly Korean seniors that are easily swayed. 3) As briefly mentioned above, their patient age group is largely consisted of the elderly, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but there's A LOT of them that come in to the point of not having enough space for such a small office. Surprisingly the patients are called in pretty quickly--because they leave just as quickly as well. Their work is very half-assed and lacks meticulousness due to all the backed up patients but fortunately for the office, the elderly patients have no idea of all this. My mom was being seen by the dentist when an assistant apparently kept rushing him to see another patient WHEN MY MOM JUST started talking to him. I was angry when I heard that he literally just up and left to see this patient who came in later than my mom. When he came back, all he did was continue to push my mom for the implant and left, for good. The assistant then "escorted" her and abruptly started discussing the cost and procedure for the implant and my mom confusingly informed her that she would not be getting one. She turned around and briskly walked away when she heard that. Oh, and my dad? He already had an implant going underway by a different dentist in LA so the doctor seemingly was disinterested and didn't even talk to him much (since he couldn't push him for one) and my dad came out the SAME TIME as my mom--when my mom went it a lot more earlier than him. Both of them were in different rooms but they felt the same about this place; they are not coming back. I feel embarrassed for taking them after what I thought was thorough research on my part. To summarize, this place is a "factory" office for helpless elderly Koreans who don't know that they're receiving below average service by being rushed in and out quickly and being pushed for implants (and possibly other procedures). And the fact that the dentist who supposedly is the main doctor isn't even there. read more

I was recommended by my sister to come here and I have recommended my husband and two other friends because of the dentist and his team. Super professional and detailed orientated. Ive had two implants,root canals, and cleaning done here. I wish I found this place sooner. He takes the time to explain and I always feel like I learn something new with each visit. This is my dentist to go to. Dr. Jeon and his staff are incredibly friendly and polite. Because I don't have any dental insurance, I'm always relieved by their pricing for treatments. It's very reasonable from my perspective and I think giving Dr. Jeon a chance would probably behoove you if you're in need of immediate dental care. I go for my routine cleaning here 2-4x per year if and when I can. I've also had my crown placed here due to an unfortunate incident where I chipped my tooth from eating crab shell based food. Dr. Jeon always discusses risks and benefits for any type of treatments and what that means for you as the patient. I can genuinely say that his focus isn't for profit. His focus is quality patient care. Due to his professional work ethic and attitude, he is usually always booked for weeks to even month or two out. If you're ever planning to visit a dentist then do call ahead of time to schedule with him. read more

Horrible experience! I got my root canal surgery here and I wanted a crown of course done, however, the doctor merely put mediocre fillings in and now I am having a myriad of issues with my two teeth. I've spend thousands on nothing and now I am facing severe consequences due to his malpractice! I was here again in 2016 to get cleaning and xrays done so don't tell me my file doesn't exist. read more

Dr. Jeon and staff are amazing. He went over everything in detail with me and you could tell he does care about his patients a lot. Unfortunately my wisdom tooth was really messed up and took a very long time to pull out but during the process, he was concerned about the pain that it would cause me and tried his very best. Thankfully it came out, he missed his lunch because of me and I think that shows all the more what kind of dentist he is. Would recommend people to go to him! read more

I needed a to find a dentist and FAST ! I found this one near me at the time living near by this particular dentistry was it . I came in for a pain in my tooth and what well taken care of i was :) starting from the diagnosing /X-ray process till the job was completed and what a painless experience it was . Dr.Jeon and staff were amazing ! Made sure I was always being checked up on and asked if I was good. The payment part is what hooked me ! This is by far the best dental experience I've had in my 25 years of life! Like the other yelpers have reviewed, Dr. La is really great and makes his patients feel comfortable and at ease. I had three fillings that had to be done today but with the injection, it was painless. Even as he was injecting the shots, he was very professional and i didn't feel any pain! I was pretty scared at first (because who likes going to the dentist...) but Dr. La and the kind dental assistant made sure that I was comfortable and checked up on me throughout the process. Got my wisdom teeth taken out today. It was quick and painless. Dr. La numbed the crap out of me where I felt like I got injected with some botox, but like he says, "Once you're completely numb, you don't have to worry anymore." The notion of "pressure" that everyone hears from youtube videos and friends, simply feels like a pinch and it is barely noticeable so stop being a pussy and get your wisdom teeth taken out by Dr. La. read more

i called to make my son an appointment and the manager said im sorry we are busy can you call back and i called back and asked for the manager and she was rude and i explained the person is already in the office i am trying to call to schedule an appointment she said since they were paying they were more important that is how they handle it there. terrible managing skills hung up on me when i asked the doctors name she said no dont come here and hung up very unproffesional office obviously do not want business i will reach the doctor some way somehow to let him know what is going on in his office read more

I'm surprised they didn't have more yelp reviews. My first time visiting a dental office as an adult, with my own insurance, without my parents. I was hesitant, called around a few places til I found this spot. They were able to get me in same day! The women at the front desk were sweet and I was in the dental chair right after I finished the paperwork. Dr.La and the dental assistant explained things very well, before they did anything and why they were doing it. I'm very please with the teeth cleaning too! I have my next appointment in two days to fix some fillings and I hope I continue to get the same amazing service, I'd love to be a life time customer here! read more

1st Choice Dental is by far thee best dentists I have ever been to. I actually live 2 hours away from his office, but I make the drive because he is just THAT good. Everyone on staff is very friendly. The Dr is very quick & gentle with his work. I feel like he ACTUALLY cares about me, my oral health & mental/emotional well-being. If you need special treatment because of a dental phobia like me, I would not recommend any other doctor. I will always be absolutely terrified of dentists, but he really helps calm my nerves as much as possible. I could go on, but I think you all get the point. Thanks Doc! read more

I had a wisdom tooth extracted here. Before going in I had heard that West African adult men are said to have strong (difficult to extract) teeth, I didn't know what to expect. First, the staff were nice and professional. Service was prompt too. The scans/x-rays machines were way more tech and up on 'coolness factor than I experienced at the last dental office I visited. Also took a couple close up scans and camera closeups pictures. Dr La showed me these scans and pictures on the computer screen and explained the problem to me. He struck me as a very thorough and competent DDS. His demeanor was calm and reassuring and he made sure I had no pain in a procedure I believe was more difficult than usual. Here you get (in my view) a solid mix of good technology and good old fashioned competence and great service - Now who can go wrong with that? read more

I'm so pleased with my work absolutely ecstatic I came in today for a chipped front tooth they took me as a walk in which was amazing the dentist was really awesome and explained everything to me as to what options I had so we went with filing the tooth down and bonding it my tooth came out perfect you can't even tell my tooth was chipped it's the same color as my other teeth and I was give an awesome deal it was very affordable I have an appointment on Tuesday to get my teeth cleaned and cavities filled if your looking for professional and great work come here you will not be disappointed I will always come here for my dental needs thank you again for giving me my confidence back I'm so happy :) read more
