The bacon was hard as a rock and tastes like the kind you buy at Walmart. The wrap was very bland with an absence of any seasoning. The "fresh" fruit cup was dry as reflected by the strawberries and grapes. Looks as if it was sitting in the fridge. Horrible experience today. I know Saturday is busy, but we only waited 10 minutes for a table. Once we ordered, it took over an hour to get our room-temperature food. I have been to different locations a couple times and overall I like First Watch. This time, I tried the sausage and turkey gravy with eggs, and it was pretty good - I would order again. I think adding some fruit/veg as a side would balance the dish out better. The Million Dollar Bacon was a bit of a letdown - it was limp and not worth it IMO. The restaurant was quite busy during our visit. Even though we had a reservation, we still had to wait for a while before getting seated. I think this is pretty typical of First Watch to be honest. Though our server was nice and was doing their best, it was evident they were dealing with the rush, which affected the overall experience - food came out pretty slow and we needed to ask for water a couple times. Overall, it's a decent place and maybe the best local spot for a consistently good brunch. I didn't find anywhere to make a reservation and read that they don't take reservations. When I showed up to get on the seating list I was asked if I was on the wait list. I mentioned that I didn't think they took reservations. The employee smirked and told me they don't take reservations but do have a wait list and not to get upset if several groups were seated be for us. Like it was my fault that I didn't know the difference and I was the issue. I asked what the difference was between a reservation and the wait list and was told "reservations reserved a specific table" and again made it clear it was my issue. On a trip to DC and staying in Fairfax, we were looking for a brunch location. We were here on Super Tuesday with kids off school. At 11:30am, there was a wait which made us think, hmmm, until we figured out kids off school. Well, we were offered a 15-20 minute wait or to sit at the "community table". We choose the community table and what a great choice. We never turn down meeting new people although no one was seated at the table. This table seems like a counter at a diner. Such a great idea! The location although in a strip mall doesn't feel that way when inside. Very farmhouse chic vibe. Great staff. Our waitress came over almost immediately and took our drink orders. Coffee, Mimosa, and alcoholic Cereal milk. All were very good. Mimosa came with mini bottle of Barefoot brut. Amanda ordered the Chicken chimichanga. It came with a lemon sauce that was a little overpowering but overall very good with a large portion of potatoes. I ordered the skillet mash, farmhouse version with eggs over medium. This was very good, eggs perfect, a wheat toast along with some homemade grape jelly. Very tasty!! Would we come back, probably tomorrow before we leave for home! So absolutely! I thought I joined the online waitlist for the Chantilly location and after checking-in, I realized it was the Fairfax waitlist that I joined. We were given about an hour wait time even though we had already been waiting an hour before arriving (completely my fault). However, the two hostesses were so sweet and offered us the communal area which is first come first serve. They stuffed it more with onions or potato's from what I remember and topped it with some mediocre cheese sauce and a side of sour cream. Honestly though, I don't remember too much at all as the dish just wasn't that memorable for me. Definitely not planning on returning here for this dish. The food was delicious! I'm not much of a breakfast person. But, I enjoyed a chocolate chip pancake, potatoes (which had a creamy Parmesan sauce on them) TO DIE FOR! I also had a side of bacon which had incredible flavor. And if that wasn't enough I had a Bloody Mary and a cinnamon toast cereal milk drink (which was cold brew and rum and other delicious things). My server was wonderful and even suggested I ordered my food a different way so I would get all the things I wanted but it would be cheaper. It was a very cute breakfast/brunch place. Excellent spot for brunch! Their morning meditation fresh juice was very refreshing and tasty, I would get it in bulk for my home if i could. They also leave a carafe of water at your table. The portion sizes are pretty big. I got the egg skillet and some lemon ricotta pancakes, I didn't realize how big the pancakes were (about the size of dinner plates), how many strawberries they came with, and also how many potatoes were in my egg skillet. My boyfriend got the carnitas burrito and he started feeling pretty full when he was about 3/4 of the way done. There was a line when we got there around noon, and we were 8th in line, but we also got the text saying our table was ready after only about ten minutes. This particular store is also right next to bath & body works as well as Marshall's, so even if you did have a wait, there's stuff to do and look at. Service was friendly, quick, and attentive. Tables are spaced far enough apart that I felt safe. Not sure what it normally is laid out like, or if this is what the norm is, but they were busy without being crowded. I do highly recommend the million dollar bacon. It's a bit pricy, but with how much effort goes into making it, I can see why. I feel like one person could eat all four slices and then have some room for pancakes or biscuits & gravy or some other smaller entree/appetizer. Visiting my cousin and she brought us here for some breakfast this morning. No wait and there is plenty of space between the tables and staff are all wearing masks. We all ordered the purple haze for the drink and it was delightful. Crisp and refreshing and sweet. I have never had butterfly pea flower tea before and it was really lovely. The drink was a little sweet for my taste but the other girls loved it. My cousin ordered the power wrap and our friend ordered the traditional breakfast. I ordered the trifecta with scrambled eggs, chicken sausage and a single lemon curd pancake (I knew the pancakes were huge and didn't want to have a full order of just the pants). The chicken patty was delicious and not spicy at all. The pancake was rich and creamy and fluffy and the ricotta cheese was such an interesting addition. The lemon curd was rich and sweet but was the perfect compliment to the creamy ricotta center and sliced strawberries. Definitely could not have eaten a full order, but worth tasting it as a single on the side. The only odd thing was our friend ordered the gluten free toast with her breakfast and they put the regular toast on her plate and then put a single slice of gluten free bread on a side plate (not toasted). In my most recent visits either with friends or family we have failed to receive food or they had just run out, items were overcooked (Burnt or brittle), or it was beginning to show signs of age (wilting or slimy salads). I have a thing for a seasonal menu and I stan for seasonal items which leads me to our selections in no specific order but enjoyed all the same. The Million Dollar Bacon is a million dollar must even if its only once and you eat or even dabble in pork!! First, it has a sticky appeal and will have you licking your fingers like you have no home training whats so ever!! The cayenne pepper give it a low sweet heat yet is not overpowering due to the brown sugar and maple syrup drizzle... whats that? Yes you can forward me your thanks for the recommendation lol. The Steak and Eggs Hash is a modern spin on a steak and eggs dish which is hearty from start to finish. Steak is cooked perfectly,, you can have you egg anyway you like it, fried hard, like hard hard for me and its nestled on a filling pile of sauteed onions, peppers and potato hash!! Man can you taste it because I feel like I can at this very moment!! The Parma Hash gives you and egg coked your way along with the creamiest parm, mozzerella and herb melted like sauce with well seasoned potatoes, mushrooms, onions, thick cuts of Italian sausage and tomatoes. You also get a decent size piece of toast. I think the pancakes are the underdog on the entire menu because they are fantastic even if its just a basic one with no topping. Fluffy and thick with warm maple syrup and a big dollop of butter, need I say more? The French Toast was okay but it did not blow me away because it was so naked as in just powered sugar and butter. I think if it were topped with berries or something fruity it would have elevated the flavor of it all for me. If you are drink adventurous, please try the Morning Meditation!!! It has a hint of tartness on the backend but depending on your taste buds it could be minimal. Not only is is visual stunning, it actually tastes fab. It is a combo of beet juice, agave nectar, orange juice, organic ginger and turmeric. A lot I know but one sip and you will fully understand the power of the perfect combination!
