Relatively new to the area so my wife and I decided to try it out this morning, and it was absolutely amazing. My wife had a Belgian waffle, and I had the steel-cut oatmeal, and not only was it filling, but some of the best I've had anywhere. Fresh fruit toppings to top it off was delicious. I enjoyed this location and the food immensely. I joined a few girlfriends for a Saturday morning brunch and we were immediately seated without a wait. Initially I found the restaurant loud, but it wasn't difficult to hear the others at the table. Parking is bizarre with construction in the complex so be aware that the entrance is on the south side of the building, although there are two other locked doors that look as if you ought to be able to enter through them. The food was amazing. The millionaire bacon is probably the best bacon I've eaten in my life. Between my friends and I we ordered an omelette, avocado toast, a power bowl, and barbacoa Benedict. Everyone enjoyed their food, aside from an order specifically asked for without tomato that still arrived with tomato. The service wasn't bad, but wasn't great, either. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive to refill the water but took her time writing orders still to get them wrong. I ended up being charged for coffee when I hadn't had any, although the two employees at the check out were quick to fix the bill. This was my first experience with First Watch. I would say that it is just ok. The building is beautiful but the mass amounts of hard surface made for a very noisy room. Too noisy to enjoy conversation. I will say that our waiter was extremely efficient. Friendly and very accessible. Love First Watch! One of our favorite breakfast spots without a doubt. All of the food is great and they have a great menu. For the sweet lovers, they have amazing pancakes or Floridian French toast topped with fresh fruit. They have traditional breakfasts too with everything you could want including a few healthier options like turkey or chicken sausage. This is the best First Watch location in the Tampa Bay Area. They have excellent seasonal specials, and I usually only order off the seasonal menu when I go here. When you're really tired of the typical fare offered in the area, make a stop at First Watch. The blended, health drinks are unique and delicious (I don't order them, my wife does, but I always take a sip.) The menu is creative, and can be deconstructed to match a half sandwich with a soup, and several choices of inhouse bread, rolls, to personalize your sandwich choices. The Kale salad is for sure a "headliner" with slivered almonds, parmesan, cranberries, and assorted greens....FAB! But...in my opinion, the main attraction is a server appropriately named "Angel." (full disclosure, we are in no way related.) We have randomly seated in her station each time we've been there, and each time, despite being brutally busy, she brings a delightful smiling eyes, and cheerful face (behind the mask) and a genuinely enthusiastic greeting. We feel welcomed and pampered. A fabulous restaurant concept, with an incredible menu, and; talk about value added - truly fine service from Angel. This is my favorite breakfast place in the Tampa area. The pancakes are by far the best and the other menu items such as "million dollar bacon" and various healthy options are fantastic. Their avocado toast is really great as well. The bread they use for toast is either made on site or from a high end bakery as it's thick and fresh and delicious. They get really busy, so either use NoWait app or expect to wait at least 30 minutes on weekends for breakfast. It's also a great option for lunch as they offer several nice lunch dishes. read more

This place is a unique little gem that offers a healthier alternative to your standard diner or mom and pops style breakfast restaurants while still being very tasty and filling. They don't have a huge menu selection compared to other places but everything on the menu is done right. They have healthy omelettes, whole grain toast, wheat pancakes, veggie frittatas, etc. Nothing is greasy, salty, or over seasoned. Many entrees come with fresh fruit. I opted for the Benedict with spinach. Two things I always look out for when ordering Benedict are over cooked poached eggs and and over (or under) cooked English muffin. They nailed it here. Also everything was pretty inexpensive, always nice when restaurants don't overcharge you just because it's healthy food. Service was attentive and food was delivered quickly. We only waited about 10 minutes for a table, and it was well worth it. My only complaint is that they don't serve alcohol. I would have loved to have had a mimosa using their fresh juices to accompany my Benedict. read more

I have eaten at this particular location probably ten times; I've given First Watch a five star rating in the past, but this latest visit I just couldn't. First, and foremost, is the matter of the wait staff that greeted me upon entering. I'm not usually one to judge, but to say I was put off by their appearance would be putting it mildly. Three girls, so heavily made up they appeared ready for Halloween. Makeup slathered on, eyebrows drawn, and lashes that resembled tarantulas: it was downright creepy and disturbing. One of these girls was my server, but I couldn't see past her mask to differentiate from the others when I had a need. In my opinion, the overdone makeup, dyed hair and skin-tight jeans are wholly unprofessional, and not a welcome sight before noon in a family friendly restaurant. Isn't there a policy about personal appearance in place here? Secondly, still in keeping with appearance and hygiene; I asked for ice water as a beverage and was served with a dirty glass, not once but twice, after pointing out the first instance. Soap and water residue on the top of the glasses, coupled with old lip prints had me disgusted and asking for a plastic cup. This visit to First Watch was not going well. Third strike was the food. Generally, it's very, very good. This time, not so much. I ordered eggs Benedict Florentine, asking that the spinach be sauteed instead of straight from the fridge so as not to make the eggs cold (last visit mishap). The eggs were awful, the whites weren't cooked so it was a runny mess on top of unripened, cold tomato slices, unseasoned (but yes, sauteed) spinach, and cold bread. Even the hollandaise sauce was flavorless, although it drenched the entree itself. When my server (?, can't be sure) asked how my meal was, I simply said it was ok albeit pretty bland. Kudos that the manager checked with me shortly thereafter; no points for making excuses about the dirty glasses. Truing to "weed them out" to make room for new ones isn't a proper response. I wound up with two dirty glasses because I was lucky enough to help them find the ones needing replaced? Sorry, that excuse didn't sit well with me. The manager clearly saw I wasn't enjoying the food, and he did offer to replace it, but I was no longer in the mood to eat there. While my server advised me that I wouldn't be charged for the meal (which I didn't eat), l felt that while she and the manager went through the motions of being concerned about my satisfaction, neither really meant it. It was the makeup all over again. From start to finish, this was a totally fake dining experience. As much as I've enjoyed eating at First Watch in the past, I really don't think I'll return. read more
