We spent our Spring Break in Destin. Looked up great breakfast places and found this gem of a cafe. Service A++,Food A++, prompt ability to seat us with a crowd, A++, ambience and climate...perfect every time. Spent 7 days on vacation and 5 mornings at First Watch. Food was terrific!! Well I was all hyped for the breakfast here because my honey ate here before and raved about it. We had to wait a bit for the table but it was the weekend during high season even though it was 10 o'clock in the morning. The service was so so but the food was disappointing. Toast forgotten for sunny side up eggs so by the time the toast came the eggs were cold. The portions were small for the price. Great wait staff, great decor, but they can't do the simple things right. My wife ordered the superfoods bowl and loved it but it's house made which they do ok at. But I ordered 4 eggs over medium, 4 bacon strips, and 4 turkey sausage links with an English muffin. The bacon was exactly like the bacon you get at a hotel buffet; cold and soggy and as basic as it comes. The eggs were basically soup and cold also. The sausage links tasted packaged but I could deal with that. All that with an unsweetened tea for $21 just for me. Needless to say I will not be visiting again. We eat here on a regular basis and usually it is very good. Today was one of the few exceptions. The eggs on my omelette were over cooked and my wife's oatmeal was not as well prepared as usual. But overall the food was good. Another thing that bugs us is the seating. We have on several occasions come to an almost empty restaurant and we are seated along the long bench at either a two or four person table. And today being off season the place was not very busy. The long bench has six place seating and it became three tables occupied. Problem was all three were together, this voiding any semi private conversations. Like I said a small inconvenience but that has repeated itself many times. read more

Warning i curse in this review because it was that bad. This was the worst service and experience i have ever had any where in 40 years in any city in any country period. We came here at 9:30 am 4/13/19. Tattooed man who was the host was rude to the other guests ahead of me and then short with me after It had been an hour wait and asked for an update since i never got a text our table was ready. Asked tattoo man for a glass of water while we waited since my guest wasnt feeling well and he said they dont have anyone to service us yet and turned and ignored us. For fucking real? Just Fire hiss ass now because he is that rude. We had to walk to publix to get him a bottle of water. Now ready we are seated and our flaming waiter took our order. After waiting another 45 more minutes for food and sick of bad coffee and tea, my 3 guests got there food but mine never showed up. The 3 with me were not impressed with over cooked rubber omelets, the soupy biscuits and gravy, the baked limp bacon or the scrambled eggs that were brown like burnt rubber. How can you screw up scrambled eggs, bacon, biscutes and gravy? Waffle house cooks are better than these cooks. Who here checks the plates for quality coming out to customers. They barely could ate half there plate. 15 min later the waiter came back out and asked if we were missing anything. I am pissed off by now and said yes, my food. He got smart and asked me what i ordered? For real? I said i dont know, you tell me what i ordered. He left and came back angry saying it wasnt his fault and they were working on it in the kitchen. I couldnt take any more of this level of incompetence so yes, I told his rude ass off and said go cancell my order. He said his manager has to approve removing my meal from a check. He brought back the check and walked away quickly. No manager. No apologies. Just fucking awful staff, service and food. Go pay my bill and asked the russian cashier a question but her english is so bad i never understood her answer. My first time at any First Watch and my last. Just go to the Donut Hole or waffle house up the road and get awsome food and professional service like i did the next day. They need to fire every person at every level at this place. read more

Not that impressed at all. Waitress was cold and unfriendly. My bacon was so salty I could not eat it. And it was also undercooked. My mom got the turkey sausage gravy and biscuits which was good but the potatoes came out cold and hard like they had been sitting all morning. I won't be going back. read more

I have been here twice since moving back to Destin a couple of weeks ago, and this place is amazing at every turn. I was greeted immediately, and my server came to the table for the drink order within seconds. The food was perfect; I ordered the eggs Benedict with a BLT twist, and it was amazing! Went here on a trip with my family, we had to wait a little longer than expected, but it was entirely worth it. I got the tri-fecta, the eggs were perfect, the bacon was thick-cut and crispy, and the French toast was the best I've ever had. The drinks were also good. Our waiter was attentive, patient, and had a great personality, and a Texas accent which was a plus. I can't say enough about how good our experience, but I would highly recommend this chain and, more specifically, this location. Hope you have as good an experience as me. read more

Extremely disappointed. I always love my experiences at First Watch locations across the country, but I will not be returning to the First Watch location in Destin Commons. My husband and I were wanting to enjoy one last meal in Destin on our honeymoon, but unfortunately left on a bad note. The hostesses at the front were very rude and acted as if each customer that walked in was an inconvenience. We watched many unhappy customers leave and have conversations at their tables about how horrible the service was. It almost became entertaining to see how much worse it could get. We eventually just sat outside and our area of tables only saw our waitresses 2 times within the 2 hours we were there. Again, they also acted as if we were an inconvenience. I was so shocked! We did not have this kind of experience at any other restaurant in Destin the whole week we were there. My family owns a business that has operated since the 70s, so it is always sad to see when businesses operate in such a disorganized and uncaring fashion! read more

The restaurant is decorated very nicely. The appearance is very good. It is very close to perfect, therefore I hope they take my comments into consideration. They brought us water without glass the next table as well, we both had to ask. However, The presentations of the entrees were great. I ordered the frittata and it was very good. The bread served with it was very salty and hard. My mother ordered eggs Benedict and the bread was very hard to the point she couldn't eat and enjoy. There was very little hollandaise sauce. She was disappointed. I am hoping they will change this. We are locals and hope that this place will become successful hit! Additionally, I felt that the waitresses and host could have more a personality. I will try again and update my comments next time. read more

This is a favorite place to eat breakfast in Destin/Miramar Beach area! Food choices are endless, fresh, healthy, and delicious. Coffee has a great rich taste ... they bring a carafe to your table, which is great not having to ask for a refill. I usually always have the Farm Fresh Hash ... husband has the sun-dried tomato tortilla filled with eggs and other choice breakfast ingredients. Both are delicious! Arrived at 10:55 am. Waited 5 min to be asked by a very arrogant women who appeared to be wasting her time to ask me if I wanted to be seated. I guess she placed me on a list. At time only about half of available tables were occupied. She said it would be a 15 min wait. We sat and watched other couples arrive and be immediately seated. When asked why she said they reserved on line. Yes they reserved on line as they arrived after me. Whatever your system to keep people in order it is not working. Service was good, no waiting for the table. Our waitress was on the spot ready to help and to serve. From the time we gave our order to the time it was on the table smoking hot was just 10 minutes. I have the Ham & Cheese Sandwich Melt with a salad side. Rosie had the half Ham & Cheese Sandwich Melt with a salad. The half sandwich was as large as a normal full sandwich. They were outstanding. The waitress was very good and attentive to our needs. Restaurant was clean and very attractive. It was decorated in a wooden country style. Really liked this place. Prices were very reasonable. My first visit to First Watch was in Orlando back in June. I didn't realize it was a chain until I saw one pop up in Panama City Beach, so when I saw this one here I got excited since we had stayed close to Eglin last night and were on our way back home to PC. Anyhoo, the food was just as good as it was in Orlando. I got the Parma skillet and the husband got a ham and cheese omelete. Since he is a super picky eater I'm surprised he didn't have a problem eating all his food. It wasn't super busy since it's Monday, but we got sat right away and our food came out nice and quick. Next time I'm out this way I'll definitely be back. read more
