When my husband ask for a manager to speak with, she walked away as soon as he said, "the service was horrible". Table of six and our food came out at different times. This is our new favorite spot for breakfast. Yes, it's a chain, but their food is amazing. They have such a large menu that there is something there for everyone. I love that they provide you with your own little pot of coffee at the table too so you aren't waiting on a server to refill your coffee. Service is great. Setup up front is a bit confusing as most people go to the cash register instead of the hostess stand when they come in to put their name in. Lol. Their bread and jams are delicious. I could seriously just go for coffee and toast and be completely satisfied. Their portions are very generous and everything I've ordered there has been delicious. We haven't had a bad experience at all the four times I've been there and that's pretty rare in a busy restaurant setting. Especially for breakfast when it seems most places have trouble serving eggs perfectly. I don't know how they do it! read more

Went to breakfast there Sunday 12/30/18. Check reviews on yelp. Looked good so we gave it a try. At 11:30 Yelp showed a 24-40 minute wait. Got on waiting list via Yelp ( great tool to get on the list) Thanks Yelp. Waited about 10 minutes to be sat. Prompt service. My wife had had bacon-Cado omelette. Very good so her empty plate said. My daughter had a kids waffle. Very good. It was a malted waffle as I am a Chef by profession and could tell. I had eggs Benedict. Really nice presentation. Was on toasted chibbata with thin slices of ham. Hollandaise was weak as far as taste and consistency. If the hollandaise would have been on point it would easily been a strong 5 star rating. Breakfast potatoes were very good and not the crappy frozen diced one. Food was overall really great but the culinary team needs some help with their seasoning skills. We eat a lot of breakfast out. Maybe twice a month and usually go to Another Broken Egg but I would absolutely choose First Watch over it. Love the fact they drop a pot of coffee and carafe of water on the table. I recently visited after some shopping nearby. Everyone was really warm and polite. I was seated quickly and took delight after seeing some of the food that others were eating. I selected the pick two option and got a sandwich salad and soup. I added the soup. I also ordered the ice coffee, which is my new favorite! Everything was really fresh and look just like the pictures posted on Yelp, which is nice for a change. I can't wait to go back and try their breakfast. Great job First Watch! This is the worst place I've had breakfast in over 10 yrs. I chose the Avocado toast on gluten free bread and small side of quinoa with mushrooms and kale. To say the least food was absolutely flavorless. The toast was not toasted. I added pico de Gallo (by request), sea salt, pepper and had to ask for herbs...and still was no flavor (ie. No garlic and no Virgin olive oil flavor). The quinoa couldn't been more bland. The chicken sausage was over cooked and no flavor. When inquired the GM nor the team were apologetic and the statement "it comes out of a bag" was appalling. It was my understanding this is a farm to table restaurant, ladies and gentlemen it's a lie. My girlfriend had a simple dish, biscuits and turkey gravy...not only flavorless but gritty and soupy like. They were to sub potatoes for fruit but got charged and extra $5 for it. Never had I've seen biscuits and gravy made so bad. I've had the same order (avo and quinoa side dish) on the First Watch in TN and in Orlando with the same allergies (gluten and dairy) and night and day results. The TN and Orlando establishments were absolutely stunning. Furthermore, the GM stated that because this is a franchise they don't do things as per corporate (ie. It's ok to have less quality of food?).I don't mind spend money on quality food, but this a total disappointment and would never recommend anyone to go here. I would give it no stars, but it wouldn't allow the detailed review. Do yourself a favor, go to another broken egg or crackings in Destin vs this place. There's a saying you get what you pay for, well I didn't. I was not even offer discount or gift card to return and remake the experience as a second shot to redeem themselves. We came in on a busy Sunday at around 1pm and got seated fairly quickly. I enjoyed the smoked salmon frittata and my husband had the Elevated Egg sandwich and both were excellent. My only complaint was the strange oil and salt and pepper "dressing" on my side salad... I think a choice of dressings would be nice. Coffee was good and the service was great and friendly. This is one of my new favorite breakfast spots in Destin. Our server was so attentive and answered all our questions about the menu. I had the ham and cheese omelet, cheese grits, and a beautiful spring mix salad on the side. The salad had a light, fresh vinaigrette. The toast was thick and hearty with the best cherry preserves I have ever tasted. I split this with a friend and we barely finished our portions. One in our group got a Spanish omelet with slaw. When you think omelets, you don't normally associate slaw with them but the dressing was light and fresh and tasted citrusy. A wonderful surprise. Another got a standard two eggs, grits, bacon, and a waffle. The waffle was Belgian and filled his plate! It was light, fluffy, and delicious. He shared with the table and still had plenty for himself. Every bite we ate was perfect. Make sure you are good and hungry before you go. You will NOT be disappointed. read more

This is my husband's ultimate breakfast spot. I wanted to try other non-chain breakfast joints in Destin, but alas he won and we ate here every single morning. I'm not complaining though! I had the multigrain pancakes on special and he had the tostadas on special. We also ordered an avocado toast because well, avocado. Need I say more? I had two pancakes and a quarter of an avocado toast and I walked out with a happy belly. My husband had two tostadas and 3/4 of an avocado toast, orange juice and coffee and he walked out stuffed. Or maybe he rolled out?? The service was really friendly and had family from Hawaii so we connected on that right away. The host is very friendly and they do offer a small military discount. Every little bit helps! I'd say I'll be back but my husband is yelling at me to hurry to go to breakfast at first watch as I type so it's safe to say you should get here ASAP too. read more
