First time in this area. With an influx of the DMV folks here, this place can be busy. Parking is vast. Serving big parties and small. I enjoyed this location because the workers overtime showed hard work.

Decided on Firstwatch in Fairfax because it is a large facility with minimum wait time. Firstwatch do not take reservations. They use a wait list approach. We were seated rather quickly. The service was excellent, we had nine in our party and the server was friendly and responsive. The ambieance was family oriented with several large groups at other tables. The food was well presented with everyone generally pleased with their choices. Two notable issues were the cheese grits...was a two out of 5. Next time I will try the butter grits. The biscuits and turkey gravy was a three out of five. Overall filling but had to take the bottom of the biscuits..over done.

I've been to several locations, but this was my first visit to the particular one. I went on a Sunday morning and expected a long wait time. The parking lot was packed. Walking up to the entry I could see a line of people waiting to be checked in. It took about 15 min to talk to the hostess. I joined the waitlist with a 45 minute quoted wait time. After not receiving a message for 50 min, I stood in line to check my status and was told my name wasn't on the list! Luckily, there happened to be a table available, so I was seated. This is a hustling and bustling atmosphere! The server was very cheerful and helpful. She gave me sweet auntie vibes. My food came out perfectly and was very good. I got the market veggie sandwich with 2 eggs added. AMAZING!

This was my very first First Watch experience and I can confidently say it won't be my last! We came in as a large party of 13 (yes, 13!), which I know can be tricky, especially since First Watch typically caps group reservations at 12. I called ahead and spoke with Rafael, who didn't just give a quick "yes" he double-checked with his supervisor to ensure we could be accommodated. That extra step really set the tone for the experience that followed. When we arrived, the restaurant was packed but despite the hustle and bustle, our table was already prepped and waiting. We were seated in a spot that was both spacious and comfortable, something that doesn't always happen with large groups. Huge props to the staff for pulling that off so seamlessly. Rafael even stopped by our table during the meal to personally check in, which felt above and beyond. Our server was equally impressive patient, friendly, and attentive the entire time. You could tell he genuinely wanted to make sure everyone in our group was happy (no small task with 13 people!). Water glasses were always filled, orders came out correctly, and the service felt warm and personal from start to finish. Now let's talk about the food, everything came out hot, fresh, and delicious. From the breakfast classics to the more creative menu items, our entire party left full and satisfied. I personally had , and it was amazing. Overall, I left not just impressed, but actually excited to come back. The combination of excellent service, thoughtful accommodations, and quality food made this a memorable first visit. Thank you to Rafael and the entire team for making our large group feel welcome and well taken care of!

This place always hits the spot for brunch. Definitely recommend using the online waitlist function so you don't have to wait as long when you get to the spot. Can't go wrong with anything here, the portions a big. I normally tend to get the seasonal items, and those change about every 3 months, my wife likes getting the lore traditional breakfast that comes with a giant pancake, eggs, sausage / bacon and side of toast / jam. Can't go wrong with whatever you decide.

Was Craving FIRST WATCH For Breakfast & Wanted To Dine In This Time. Decided To Drive To VA To One Of Their Many Locations Which Is Slowly Expanding. FARMHOUSE HASH Breakfast Potatoes With Onions, Cheese, Roasted Tomatoes, Avocados & 2 Over Medium Eggs. I Always Ordered Without Bacon Since I Don't Eat Pork & It Was Still So Good. Comforting, Flavorful, & Easily My Favorite On The Table. Definitely A Must-Order. HOT COCOA Made With Water (Not Milk) But Surprisingly Good. I Honestly Prefer Non-Dairy Milk Since It's More Creamy & Rich But This Was Delicious Enough Without Being Too Sweet.... Perfect For A Cozy Breakfast Morning. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Shoutout To Christian, My Outstanding Waiter. Amazing, Welcoming, & Truly Provided Top-Tier Service & Wonderful Conversation. Not Only Was He Attentive, He Was So Sweet & Had Such An Awesome Spirit Which Made The Experience Even Better. First Watch Is Always A Solid Choice For Breakfast, & The Holiday Menu Is Worth Checking Out. I Will Definitely Return to This Location, If They Had A Rewards Points System, I'm Sure I Would Get So Much Free Stuff Because I Definitely Come Here A lot Just Usually For Pickup.

I had a mid-week brunch here. I tried their chipotle chicken bowl, which has a bit salty and heavy on the potatoes and light with the chicken. I tried one of their fresh juices - I forget the name but it had beet juice in it. Overall, the service was friendly and the restaurant itself was comfortable but not particularly noteworthy. I'd have to spot by some other time to try some of their non savory dishes to get a better sense of their menu and quality.

I had heard a lot about this place so I finally decided to try it. The place was packed late on a Saturday so it was a good thing we put our names on the waitlist. I got coffee and they leave the pot on the table but there was no fresh half and half so had to ask for milk. I go the BLT eggs benedict with potatoes and they were both great. I also tried the pancakes that were good and huge. A very solid place for a breakfast!

Stopped by First Watch to grab a quick bite to eat before heading to the airport to catch a flight for the weekend. Service was good, fast and friendly and the food was good. I tried the Elote breakfast burrito from their new Summer menu. It was tasty and so stuffed I wasn't able to finish it all. The menu had many other items that looked really good so I will definitely be back to try them out.

    Double Crunch Breakfast Tacos

Update: I came back to this location and the service I experienced was significantly worse than last time. After our order was taken and the food came out, the waiter checked how the food was once and did not come back until 45 minutes later with the check. I had already finished my meal and was waiting for someone to check in on us for 25 minutes. Our waters were empty too. When the server brought the check he did not offer to bring a box even though I was clearly done and disapppeared again. We had to ask another waiter who was not serving our table for the box because our initial waiter just left. Our waiter didn't go over any specials and did not seem to understand English very well. After the service I received here, I will be getting takeout next time. The Double Crunch Tacos were also disappointing. Tacos were dry, there was hardly any black bean spread, avocado fell out. Definitely recommend the has over the seasonal tacos.

    Blazing Dragon
    Lily R.

All locations are super busy especially around brunch time on the weekends, but the wait is never that long and the check in online works really well. There is a lot of different food on the menu and all of it is good quality. The blazing dragon tastes so good and I definitely reccomend it whenever it's seasonally available.

It's been a while since I have been to a First Watch and it exceeded my expectations. The inside is clean and beautiful. The service was quick and spot on. However, our server was swamped and he was running around like crazy. Hope he gets some rest. What I liked is that there is a calorie count on the menu. I am on a cut nowadays and it was really helpful for me. The food was mildly flavorful. Nothing too impactful, but it is meant to be breakfast and brunch food so it being not too flavorful is rather a good thing. I thought the price was reasonable. You can pay through a QR code and your phone and it was quick and seamless.

This puffy, golden, oven-baked masterpiece rose higher than my student loan interest and deflated with more drama than my last relationship. Crispy edges, custardy center, a little powdered sugar on top -- I almost proposed to it right there at the table. Because I live dangerously (and by dangerously, I mean "order like I'm hosting a breakfast summit"), I also grabbed the avocado toast with poached eggs. Those eggs? Runny yolk perfection. Like, "I'd swipe right on you" perfection. They cascaded over the toast in cinematic slow-motion, and yes, I did that thing where you pause to admire the yolk river before diving in. And then came the sunny side up eggs with turkey sausage and wheat toast. The sausage actually tasted like turkey -- juicy, seasoned, not the "sad health food" vibe. Toast was crisp but not weaponized (you know what I mean if you've ever cut the roof of your mouth on a bad piece of bread). Service was friendly, patient, and didn't blink when I basically treated the menu like a bingo card. My only regret? Not wearing stretchy pants. Final verdict: The Original Pancake House isn't just a breakfast spot, it's a spiritual experience. Come for the Dutch Baby, stay because you accidentally order three entrees like me.

While a scramble sounds simple on paper, it is easy to overcook the vegetables. This one was executed perfectly, with every vegetable done just right. The thin-sliced potatoes were highly seasoned and stood out, moving away from the standard, heavy breakfast spuds you get at most places. The presentation across the board was excellent. The latte arrived with a nice touch--a small side cookie and a club soda to cleanse the palate, which shows a level of intentionality you don't always find. Went for restaurant week, and had a great selection of peach toast, rigatoni with bone marrow, pork steak, and desert. The prix fix also came with the miso sourdough focaccia with honey butter. Our favorite was the peach toast, believe it or not. The fresh peaches were plentiful over the cheesy creamy spread, and the combo was just delicious. The rigatoni was very al dente (which I liked, hubby hated), and had a unique flavor, a bit on the sweeter side. The bone marrow was brought to the table for you to scrape into your pasta, changing the flavor profile a bit. I always love bone marrow so I thought the add on was a fair price. Overall I liked it but it wasn't something I'd come back for. The Berkshire pork steak was really good. My first bite ate like a steak, and was tender, moist and delicious. The sauce it came with was nice. The potato puree was decent, and the broccolini had a strong charred flavor. Everything on this plate was a small portion size, but all tasted good. The chimichurri sauce though, I didn't care for. The desert was mixed. Liked the peach cobbler, but wished there were more cobbler. The chocolate cake was the biggest disappointment. It was dry, and didn't taste very good. The ice cream that came with it was good though. Overall, Ellie bird is a great place to dine, It's worth coming trying.

For example, yesterday, I had their Peter's Special, a sandwich made from 1/2 lb of pastrami and 1/2 lb of corned beef. Except that it's not "a" sandwich, but three, all on delicious rye bread, each with its own pickle, and a small helping of slaw, sauerkraut, and a major pile of salad. It was my lunch yesterday; the remaining two sandwiches are my lunch today and tomorrow. That's three meals for $30, which, to me, is a reasonable price. The problem was that the more they do to create the food, the less flavorful it is. For example, on another recent visit, I had their Country Style Omelet. Again, it was huge and contained everything that goes into a great omelet. Except, there wasn't a lot of flavor. And that seems to be the theme. I grabbed a slice of their 24-layer cake and, again, big but not much taste beyond sweetness. If you crave a lot of food, then this might be the spot for you. However, if you prefer less and more, smaller portions with better, more nuanced flavor, then maybe try one of the other nearby restaurants.
