I've had their eggs Benedict BLT and shrimp and grits and they did not disappoint! When you order coffee you get an entire pitcher of it for yourself and get to refill your own cup- which I love. Let's start with this season menu that ends today. At 1030 they were out of Holy Donuts. Every table has the picture of the holy donuts if you are out and the last day, how hard is it to have an employee remove them. The breakfast taco was good, coffee weak, Italian omelet was good. My wife and I are not new to First Watch as we lived up north in a place that had several of the restaurants. In high school it was her favorite breakfast spot. We stopped here for brunch and were seated and greeted promptly. It was 10am on a Friday morning and the restaurant was about 50% full. Upon going over the menu we were less than thrilled with their offerings. The menu descriptions are so overly described that it is actually annoying to read them. After settling on a custom breakfast plate for her that included almond butter artisan toast, turkey sausage, eggs, and grits and the farm stand breakfast tacos for myself we enjoyed a cup of coffee. The food arrived quickly and was hot. On to the "meh" portion of the review now. Her sausage links looked heavily processed and like it had come from a the freezer section of an Aldi store with it's shiny skin and small stature. The grits cup was about 4 ounces total. My plate was 3 tacos that came in taco holders with a side of beans. The black beans were well seasoned with chunks of vegetables in them; good. The tacos were mostly tortilla as the fixings filled only about 1/2 of each shell. They filled 3 tacos with a total of about 2 scrambled eggs total, the "pico" was simply chunks of tomato, and the avocado was pitiful. There was about 2 grams, or a nickels size slice of avocado plopped on each taco and I could not even find the chorizo that was listed as included. Overall we spent $38.00 on a brunch for two that was worth about half of that in my opinion. The quality of the food is nothing like we remember and the portions versus price are ridiculous. There are half a dozen artisan and fresh style breakfast and brunch spots within 10 minutes of this restaurant that have much better quality and portions. We will not be going back there and the First Watch dates from up north with remain fond memories for us. 2-Stars because our server was attentive and friendly. The stars for this review is for the food only. The food is amazing - fresh, beautifully displayed, and very tasty. I would like to mention that their service wasn't up to par yet. They has opened less than 2 weeks ago. They obviously couldn't keep up with the volume of customers. Plus they ran out of milk while we were there, which was at 10am on a Monday (Memorial Day). I'm sure it will get better with more training and more supplies as they get used to their customer flow. I'll definitely return later on. read more

This was my second visit to First Watch Ft Mill SC. I'd orginally visited this eatery when it opened in Ft Mill in 2019. As a breakfast restaurant I grade it as average. The rationale for my rating is that the food and presentatio don't give me any memorable tastes or visual cues that stand out. The overall plating is very "blah" and the food just lays there on the plate. Nothing about the way it is presented and arranged illicits any sort of wow factor. In terms of taste and flavor, for me the food lacks any significant depth or development. Its as if the food were prepared by automation and lacks a "soul". Its not that the food isn't satiating but rather that it lacks any really memorable attributes. The entree that I ordered on this visit was The Works Omelet with Ham, bacon, sausage, house-roasted Crimini mushrooms, onions and tomatoes with Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses. Even with all of these flavorful ingredients the omelet lacked flavor and the cheese was unidentifiable. The seasoned potatoes were tasty but also a bit greasy. For me First Watch is a "pass". Came here for lunch break at work, have seen First Watch's everywhere but never tried before. I have to say they offer a great product. The menu offers a wide variety of breakfast and lunch dishes. I chose the biscuit w turkey sausage gravy. The dish came with two eggs (whichever style you like) and potatoes. To begin - the biscuits I believe are house made and based on the taste and texture, I would agree. It was light and buttery. The sausage gravy had great flavor and was seasoned well. My only complaint with the gravy is that it was a little more runny than I prefer. The eggs were standard - nothing overly special but light and fluffy. Finally the potatoes - these were among the better breakfast potatoes I have tried in my day. They had a nice char/crisp and were seasoned perfectly. I believe my dish was around $13 - very reasonable in this day and age. Our server was attentive but nothing over the top - it is just a casual spot after all. Finally the atmosphere of the restaurant is casual - perfect for a brunch spot. I would definitely recommend this spot for a quick brunch. read more

I love to eat breakfast but for me to pay 36 bucks for breakfast for the type of service I got I'm furious! Everyone at this location looked pissed while serving people. First, my eggs were so dry and overcooked! My sausage was great and that was it. The bananas on my husbands French Toast looked old and nasty. Now the million dollar bacon looked soooo great in the picture and what we got was rubbery bacon drenched in syrup. Advertised with brown sugar and everything and when asked to take it back and our concerns. I was told by the waitress "well that's basically what it is" and then looked pissed and walked away to take it off my bill. I would not recommend this place at all! We are huge fans of first watch. I think it's a great asset to our town. Always busy. Literally always (not a bad thing) but plan for it! With that being said they usually get you in fairly quickly, and service is super fast. They update their menu seasonally which is really fun because there's always amazing new things to try, and it's something to look forward to as well. If i can recommend one thing it's the million dollar bacon- wow. My mouth is watering even at the thought lol. The juices are fresh, and very earthy. The millionaire bacon was great the first time we had it, however twice after it looks like a poor mans bacon and was so sad looking/inconsistent. Lately it's been a hit or miss at this location. Customer service is not what it used to be. I was served burnt and under cooked potatoes. The waitress didn't apologize and said that's how they're served sometimes then provided more excuses when I told them I had previously had properly cooked potatoes there. I told the cashier of the situation and was told they could only offer $2 and change off because the potatoes are a part of the meal. Even when disclosing those restrictions and shared far more personal information than we needed to with them, we were still told no. My friend can only eat very small and simple portions, and hates to waste food that knows will be wasted otherwise. She simply wanted to order a cup of soup and a grilled cheese. When trying to order that we were told that only kids can order a grilled cheese and they only offer a "cup" of soup when picking from the pick two entree. So both of what we were asking for were technically available to make an exception given the circumstances we explained. But instead we were told no to the grilled cheese and that we would have to pay the price for the "bowl" of soup, but they would just give us a cup. WOW, how kind.... not. Found First Watch via on-line search for breakfast venue near Lake Wylie, SC. Arrived around 10:50 AM, very crowded with others waiting. As a single diner, hostess offered "community table" for less waiting. I thought "sure, why not?". I didn't wait to be seated but I sure did wait to be fed! I can make an egg white omelet in about 10 minutes at home. Here, I waited for 50 minutes to finally be served a moderately warm, unimpressive omelette with grilled mushrooms, onions and diced tomato, a side bowl of mixed fruit and some toast. At least the coffee was good. I drank almost an entire pot of it waiting on this mediocre meal. Crowded or not, a 50 minute wait for a sub-par breakfast meal just doesn't have the intrigue to make me a return customer. Too many other choices throughout this area! read more

All the high chairs were being used but instead of telling us, they just had us wait until our waiter talked to the hostesses and he told us. Our child isn't even a year old yet and a booster seat isn't secure enough to hold her in a chair (she likes to sway when eating ‍). I honestly would have been fine to wait for one, but I happen to have our bamboo seat in the car from dinner at a friend's last night. Stopped in for brunch on a Friday and the entire place was packed! We were still seated immediately which was nice. The million dollar bacon is definitely worth trying - it was delicious! I don't care for maple syrup with my bacon but this was just bursting with flavors. We ordered the crab omelette and egg breakfast sandwich - both AMAZING! I also ordered a side of the lemon ricotta pancake, my only regret is not having enough room to finish it. Can't wait to come back and try other options, the menu was huge and everything sounded delicious. (UPDATE): Every visit since our first visit has been disappointing. Either something was not right with our meal or the service wasn't great. It's sad when you have to send the million dollar bacon back twice and it still comes out burnt. At any rate, this is not standard diner breakfast fare. Lots of catchy, trendy menu items and ingredients like chia seed and turkey chorizo. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, just letting you know what you are in for. The three stars are for the fact that a simple breakfast took an hour and a half. The food was extremely slow coming out of the kitchen. It was $40 for two people, so there's that. Also, the layout seems poor to me. The waiting area up front is tiny and is also the area where you pay, so it gets congested and backs up into the eating area. Seems rude to everyone to not just plan a larger lobby area.
