I was expecting a lot more from First Watch after my mother raved about this place. My boyfriend and I decided to get brunch around 1pm on a Tuesday. We walked in and the restaurant was fairly dead. No one greeted us and we then stood around at the front for five minutes, along with another lady, before being addressed. No one said "hello be right with you" and no one apologized for keeping us waiting. I work at a high traffic brunch spot and we ALWAYS find time to acknowledge guests who walk into the restaurant. We were taken to our seats by a very spacey, awkward server. He seemed flustered, not in an overwhelmed way, but just completely unsure. We asked to sit outside and after being seated the guy says "your server will be right with you." Moments after he returns and says "looks like ill be taking care of you, the other server didn't want the table." It was so uncomfortable and just a weird thing to say. He was extremely slow on getting our drinks and by the time we ordered food, we had already been at the restaurant for 20minutes!! I placed my order, asking if it were possible to receive one pancake instead of a full order. Again, our server seemed confused, but said it was doable. I then also ordered a 1/2 ham & gruyere sandwich 1/2 cobb salad combo. I asked for no blue cheese in the salad. After the server went to put our order in, he runs outside to tell me that blue cheese doesn't come in my salad, but instead feta does. When my food comes out, the server had rang us up for TWO pancakes and the wrong salad. He wasn't the one who delivered our food and never came by to check on us. Other tables were given condiment baskets, we were not. I was so hungry i just ate the salad given to me. I dont like black beans or avocado, so it was disappointing that i had to pick my way through that. The server finally returned, drops our check and walks away. Never came back. I had to go inside to ask for a box. When i went to check out, I mentioned to the girl taking the payment that majority of my order was wrong. She had no sympathy or concern, and her reply was "oh he's training". IF HE'S TRAINING, WHY IS HE SERVING ALONE. My "one" pancake costed the same amount for the 1/2 and 1/2 combo which was just totally unacceptable. The original price was $9 and only $2 was deducted to get one pancake?? Im really disappointed in this experience for several reasons. I bust my butt to give excellent customer service when I serve, so what i received today was just embarrassing. These servers are the reason that customers don't take waiters seriously and treat us like garbage. From working in the food industry I know that its not an easy job, so I try to be patient when things aren't great, but this was unreasonable. Management should have apologized and either fixed the error or discounted my ticket for food i didn't even order. Not to mention, Management just needs to be present as a whole! Not once did I see a manager. But i saw two servers sitting in a booth chatting. Someone should also be training better. This was totally unacceptable and overpriced. The food was good so i gave this place 2 stars, but the experience was horrendous. Oh yeah, and i got bird crap all over the back of my arm and hand because no one wiped down their outside chairs!! read more

Had the pleasure of treating my sister in law to breakfast this AM. Very clean and friendly place. Service was spot on. There was zero pressure, recommendations were made regarding the menu and coffee was quick to the table. I ordered the Carnitas breakfast burrito (seasonal item). It was the finest breakfast burrito I have had the pleasure to date of consuming. Wheat tortilla, lime salsa, poco di Gallo. Filled with pork carnitas, avocado, eggs, black beans and jack/cheddar. There was also a creme sauce that escapes me. It was very complex on my palate and I had the bacon appetizer to counter the zesty but calm burrito with the sweet glaze of the bacon. I went at 1 on a Friday. No wait! I love the atmosphere and the trendy decor. I had the Floridian Fresh toast. It was wonderful! The French toast was a bit crispy around the edges, which was perfect. All of our food was prepared as we had asked and our service was great! The menu is more California style with the avocado and wheat grains. It was my first time coming to this cafe a few days ago and I loved it !! I had such great service that I had to make a yelp account just to show how great my server was. Usiel (my server) was so amazing!!! Even with his mask on I knew he was smiling. He did an amazing job for being a young server and his communication skills was incredible!! Good food. Terrible service. This location specifically is usually busy which is fine. However having a waitress so unsocial and impersonal shouldn't be a server. Morgan was her name, which I had to find out at the end when we got our check. She didn't introduce herself just asked if we wanted coffee and anything for the kids. Didn't ask if we needed anything else. Which I wanted a water but she took off before I could even ask. Then it took her awhile to get that to us. All this time didn't get a single smile or anything. Barely spoke to us. We had to ask other servers for things cuz she didn't bring them or wasn't around for us to get her attention. All In all was a very disappointing experience. read more

We love going to this location. The food is always great, and the same goes for the service. It's nice to get on the waitlist via Yelp, especially with large parties or during the busy weekend brunch times. Today we went with a party of eight, and we were quoted a one hour wait time. We got seated in less than 45 minutes, and our complete order was on the table in less than 15 minutes! This was incredible during the Sunday brunch rush after 10 am. Awesome job! read more

All First Watch are NOT the same! First order of avocado toast came out incorrect and with chives all over it. Order of eggs with toast came out without the toast and by the time we got toast the eggs were cold. They made a new order of avocado toast and because of it being hurried the eggs were not done. It wasn't the waitresses fault, but then she never came back to check on us or offer any more hot water for our hot tea. It was the worst service and food we have ever had at a First Watch. Soooooo soooo good. We've been here maybe 6 or 7 times and every food option I've tried so far has been amazing, especially given pricing. Service can be a hit or a miss, just in terms of sheer personality of servers, but they're pretty consistent about timely delivery. The server today was super friendly and personable, joking with my kiddo, and upped the experience just by being friendly. No one has ever been rude by any stretch, just kinda mechanic before today. But, I love the food, the cost, the efficiency and the location, and I'm not that "man" that thinks a smile is a requirement hence the 5 stars. One would think that in the age of covid a restaurant could handle advance orders and customer pickup. This location cannot. I placed an order on line at 9:37 for 10:30 pickup. I arrived at 10:25, was told that my order would be right out. I left at 10:45 without my order after watching multiple delivery orders go out the door during my 20 minute futile wait. In their defense, the gentleman that repeatedly checked on my order was very polite each time he told me it would be right out. Don't bother to go there if you intend to eat in a reasonable time frame, it will never happen. If you do order in advance DON'T PAY IN ADVANCE, I'm sure that will be very polite when they tell you your refund will be right out. read more

Delighted to find this First Class establishment on our February 2021 vacation in Peoria, AZ General Manager Bailey was genuinely interested in each customer, making us feel as though we were visiting his home. Hubby and I decided to visit this First Watch near our house for lunch. I had been to one in Scottsdale and knew he would like it. I ordered my fav: Farmhouse Skillet without cheese, and he got a chorizo omelet. Both were very good, and the sprouted wheat toast and little cup of fruit were great sides. Also loved the strawberry jam that came with the toast. The potatoes on both breakfasts were golden brown and done perfectly. My skillet had very tasty tomato chunks, onions and lots of bacon under the eggs--loved it all! We plan to go back soon, as my husband really wanted the corned beef brisket, but they were out this visit. Next time! Our server, Albulena, was wonderful! I'm not sure how this place gets four stars. My husband and I have come here several times. The food is never hot. The eggs are often undercooked and where it says you get two eggs it's most definitely one egg or two of the teeniest little eggs you've ever seen. and the bacon is often undercooked and when we ask for it to be cooked better it comes back deep-fried which is disgusting. We have tried so many times because we want it to be good and I really like the flavor of the waffle but I just don't like the fact that it's cold. We decided we're not coming back. They've been given plenty of chances to get it right and they've failed. read more

This review is for service only: I ordered the morning meditation and when our waiter brought it I asked him for a straw. Once he brought the straws, he asked if it was our first time here. I said no (this was our second time here). He then went on to lecture my boyfriend and I how they are an anti-straw facility and we have to ask for straws since they don't hand them out (I literally asked for a straw and wasn't expecting him to give me one without asking). He was trying to tell us to ask for a straw while ordering our drinks because "the waiters do a lot of back and forth...". Well gee I'm sorry you had to go back and grab a straw, big deal. If having to go back and grabbing straws is such a big deal then how about you ASK when taking drink orders?? Either way, I'm not here to listen to you lecture me about how you guys run back and forth or how you've asked the manager to switch to paper straws. SO GOOD!! We stopped here with friends for breakfast before we headed out of town. I am really glad we got there around 9:30 and it seems as though that's the early seating- when we left there were piles of people waiting to get a table! We were a little larger of a group so we even waited about 15 minutes to be seated which wasn't a big deal but goes to show they are popular. The restaurant is decorated with a modern farmhouse style and is totally trendy right now. The service was fine- nothing spectacular- in fact, I think our server was slightly annoyed with our table because we were having a hard time making decisions. One thing they do differently, that I really appreciate, is they have a little drink station by the door. They have coffee and water available while you wait which I think is so smart. This place was also a good bang for the buck. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a hearty, pseudo healthy breakfast. read more

We stopped in on Sunday morning around 9:30-10 and there was about a 20 minute wait. No big deal for a Sunday morning, so we waited, sat in their comfy oversized seats and looked over the menu.The place is wide open, modern decor and has plenty of seating inside and out. After we were seated, service was friendly and fast. We ordered a chile chorizo frittata w/ potatoes and a side of biscuits & gravy to share. The food did take a little bit to get to the table but, the place was very busy and we were in no hurry so - no worries. Overall, the food was great! No complaints. Came out hot, cooked just right and ingredients were fresh and yummy. One knock on the biscuits were a touch dry but, the plentiful turkey-sausage gravy made up for it! Check came fast and easy to pay on way out. One note - After we were seated the wait to get in ballooned very quickly - almost to a comical point when it became tough to even leave the place with so many bodies inside and out! Still, that is a great problem to have for them and must say something about the food. So, in short - wait times may change in an instant! read more

First time and last time coming here. The food came out cold and under cooked. There was no rush happening inside. Potatoes were not fully cooked with lots of hard potatoes. We headed fir the eggs to be scrambled well done and they were not made that way, undercooked. The only thing good was the bread and the iced water. The food options are great but the service is subpar. I have come in and had to wait for several minutes without staff acknowledging my presence, very uncomfortable. Sometimes they seem understaffed and we felt ignored. Otherwise the food is consistently delicious, coffee is good, seating options inside with plentiful booths and outside with nice shaded seating. We really love the food here and We understand there is a wait on the weekends especially. But it really is not necessary to wait 40 mins after we ordered to get our food. About 2/3 through that waiting the waitress gave us an update and said we had 2 or 3 orders ahead of us maybe and it would be awhile longer. People who ordered after us had food before us and there were people who were seated prior to us just getting food as we were leaving. Not the first we have had this experience. We returned yesterday and we had Cheyenne for our waitress. It was entirely different experience. Cheyenne was attentive and we received our food in record time.
