I love First Watch but this one is the prettiest I've ever seen!! Stopped by for lunch and was not disappointed. Of course I ordered a breakfast skillet because it's full of crispy potatoes! My lunch date got the lemon Ricotta pancakes and we both tried a fresh juice. I was taken in by the adorable new decor of the building. I'd often gone to the previous restaurant so the new layout was a surprise. Everything is sort of farmhouse cozy. Lots of rustic wood and metal. We sat and were greeted pretty quickly. We knew what we wanted and ordered right away. We ordered juices and still asked for water. That didn't come until our food even though I asked again and it was brought up. I drink a lot so I was a bit annoyed but that wasn't a huge deal. Our server seemed shy and didn't really stop by to check on us much but she was really nice. I got a Market skillet minus the shrooms. It was amazing with super crispy taters and eggs cooked perfectly!! Lots of veggies, too. It comes with a slice of buyers fancy toast and strawberry jelly as well as a small cup of fresh fruit. The bread was food and crunchy, maybe too buttered. The fruit was ok. I think all the pretty strawberries were saved for my dates pancakes. My lunch partner got the Lemon Ricotta pancakes that were covered with powdered sugar, sliced strawberries and lemon curd!!! The cakes looked super fluffy and she loved them! We not got the Morning Meditation juice and it was pretty tasty. I love juices but struggle with beets. The citrus helped to break that up so I was able to enjoy it and not have to chug it. Overall I'm excited this place is open and gives me a hearty choice for lunch. I'm so full I want to take a nap. Terrible! Awful, I would never go there again. This restaurant and area used to be so beautiful very family friendly but now it is turning ghetto with employees playing inappropriate ghetto music with cussing including the N word on a loop completely inappropriate on full volume from the kitchen. Other than that the food was not worth it! The potato was very dry and not cooked properly. The egg was ok, bread was burnt and was very hard to cut with the knife, when we went to pay the lady asked us how the food and experience was so we explained to her how terrible it was and she didn't seem to be faced by the review, manger walked by and she didn't bother mention the complaints to him. There was one server with red hair she was very sweet and awesome that is the only positive comment I have. read more

Yah know what... this place is great. They have a wonderful menu; healthy, savory, sweet, and everything in between. The service was excellent, and their pre-sweetened ICED COFFEE, woah BABY. I did enjoy my meal, it was delicious, I got the Eggs Benedict BLT. BUT, my reason for three stars is due to A. my poor, poor poached egg being overcooked and there was no oozy yolk pouring over my ciabatta bread, and B. the menu listed seasoned potatoes as a side, however if you do not specify that you want this you receive a side of mixed greens. I didn't realize this, so sadly, I received greens, and this girl needed some potatoes after a few adult beverages the night before. However, our server was great and got us a side anyways, as she said they had just made the swap to mixed greens. Overall, I'd definitely try this place again, as I believe I got that one egg out of ten that was a little overcooked, and now I know about the greens vs. the delicious, well-seasoned potatoes. read more

Went to first watch today and had breakfast with my wife. I had the biscuit and gravy with eggs and potatoes and an extra side of turkey sausage. She had the Bacado omelet with fruit and toast. Both meals came out promptly. Sausage gravy has a little bit of kick to it ( which I liked) but the biscuit was a little hard under the gravy. My wife noted that her fruit cup was mostly grapes and not much else. Everything else was well prepared. Service was prompt and food came out quickly. The server was attentive while it was clear she was staffing way too many tables for one person. My only complaint is that their coffee is not very good. It tastes weak and has a weird after taste. But I do like the fact that they leave a carafe of coffee at your table. Additionally the business is located in an area where parking can be a bit of a hassle. We have loved First Watch for a few years now. Today was our second visit to this location and it was wonderful again! We had Cait as our server again and she was amazing as always. Last week we had bacado omelet but with guyere cheese and side of potatoes, french toast and the breakfast tacos. Everything was wonderful. We tried the iced coffee for the first time and it was outstanding. I'm wondering if they sell it by the jug! Today I had the French toast and my bf had the egg sandwich with potatoes and of course the iced coffee. Everything was awesome! We use the First Watch app to get in line so we don't have to wait long at the restaurant. My wife and I also ordered the morning meditation which consists of orange juice ginger, turmeric, and beet juice...,this is a drink to get your morning started. My wife ordered the farm house with extra tomatoes on the side. Both dishes are served with two eggs on top. We enjoy visiting first watch restaurants while at home in AZ and when we travel. They always deliver a great product and they give their customers plenty of attention. I went to this location back to back. The first time, I ordered my usual farmhouse skillet to eat and morning mediation to drink. Both were delicious as always. The second time, I ventured out and ordered the smoothie bowl. The waitress mentioned that this will be their last week selling it so I was happy to get to try out before it goes away. The acai itself was a bit too sweet for my taste, but it was overall really good. It was topped with granola, blueberries, strawberries and blackberries. I highly recommend trying any location out. This place has a glorified reputation, but in all honesty they lack the drive to keep up with the "quality" they like to promise. First off, I spent $50 for 2 out of 3 breakfast plates to be incorrect. My 'Farmhouse Hash', still came with Avocado, Onions and Tomatoes on it after explicitly asking them not to put them in. As someone who is deathly allergic to Onions, this was a problem and I was unable to eat it. Secondly, my partner ordered the "biscuits and gravy" - and boy this is where the quality really lacked. It was a half of a biscuit, thrown in a box with a handful of potatoes. I kid you not, it looked like someone's leftovers from the morning before. Oh, did I mention the gravy was cold? Seriously, for a restaurant as busy and always packed as first watch, are you not able to hire an Expo? Or does your kitchen just genuinely not care about the quality of the food coming out? If you can't keep up with demand, it's your responsibility to close of notify the public - instead you just take their money and offer them sloppy plates of food and try calling it "fresh". The only dish that was good, was my sons French Toast - at least someone enjoyed their meal for $50. You'd be better off going to McDonald's for breakfast - and I don't even eat McD's. It was a super busy at the restaurant. I called ahead of time to see if it'd be possible to seat a party of 7 with two kids. The hostess who answered the phone couldn't make any promises as they don't take reservations, but my family and I still wanted to check them out! Upon arrival, we requested to sit outside on the small patio. We didn't expect any of our requests to be met because the restaurant was incredibly busy, but our waitress and hostess made it happen. Everyone was so sweet and accommodating. I know it was a stressful and busy day at the restaurant, but the staff treated us with so much kindness and patience. Our waitress gave us several recommendations, and I ended up ordering the chicken salad sandwich. It's an open faced sandwich packed with chicken, celery, cheese, and raisin. Brunch time! My friends and I came here when we were visiting Jax and it did not disappoint! I have this thing where I get eggs benedict literally anytime it's an option so you better believe that's exactly what I did. One of my friends got the chia seed pudding as the vegan option and wow that was flavorful! They also have really good mixed drinks. I got a Bloody Mary and my friends got something that tasted like sangria. Everything is pretty normally priced. The drinks are a little pricey but when it's girls day out you can treat yo'self! We went on a Saturday so we definitely had to wait but they text you when it's ready and Yelp has the waitlist where you can see what number on the list you are which is great. It went by quicker than expected. Parking is a little difficult because it shares a lot with Fresh Market but enough people come and go that we found a spot pretty fast. I just love this chain --and I'm not a chain person. I grabbed breakfast at this location recently and I was thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious as always. The farmhouse potatoes were fantastic, the sausage was incredible, and their toast was some of the best I've ever tasted. The eggs were cooked to order and were also wonderful. The service was great. Very quick and efficient, promptly filling waters, and coffees when needed but not overbearing. The staff were extremely friendly and polite and knew their menu extremely well. The restaurant is very cool inside --though can be a bit loud because of the industrial design. It has a very clean and airy feel and is very well maintained. There is plenty of seating indoors and some great outdoor spots. Lots of parking in the lot immediately outside, easy in/out of main surrounding roads, and overall terrific experience. I've been going to the 192 Riverside Ave Jacksonville, FL 32202 First Watch for several years since it opened and the food and service is usually top notch. Today was a different story. We arrived in the parking lot around 10:10 AM and when I saw the small crowd of folks waiting in front I remembered that I had the First Watch app that I could use to register online and get in line for a table. So I did. The app told me I had about 30 minute wait... that I should arrive at 10:37 and we would be seated at 10:42. So to kill time we wandered around the Fresh Market grocery. We walked over to the First Watch about 10:35 and entered to find about 6 or 7 people waiting to be seated. I knew something was not right when the host, holding a paper pad and pen, came over and asked how many for our party. I showed him the app and told him that we had checked in with the app and that our table should be ready. He responded, "I"m really sorry but the app is not working right now and your wait will be between 40 and 45 minutes." I told him "We've already waited 30 minutes!" Things were not looking good. What's the point of registering for your table on the app if the app is not working and the customer doesn't receive any notice that the reservation system is down? If I'd know that, I would have walked in to the restaurant as soon as we arrived instead of killing 30 minutes in the supermarket, under the expectation that our reservation had been accepted and confirmed. So after waiting ANOTHER 20 minutes, my party of two was seated. Another 10 minutes and our waitress Molly came by to take our order. We got our coffee and water and we waited. Patiently. Another 20 minute passed and no breakfast. First Watch usually serves up fairly quickly... within 10 minutes or so. But not today. Molly was nowhere to be found to ask her about our order. 10 minutes she came by and said "Your order will be out soon." Another 20 minutes and still no food. Now it's been 1.5 hours since arrived in the parking lot and registered our place on the app. No breakfast. We flagged Molly down and asked her to check on our order. Two minutes later the manager came over to our table, crouched down and said, "I'm terribly sorry but we lost your order. I'll make sure the kitchen takes care of it right now and I'm going to comp your meals." Another ten minutes and our breakfast finally arrives... It's been 1 hour and 45 minutes from arrival to food on our table. It was delicious, as always but First Watch execution this morning left a lot to be desired. From the table reservation app that doesn't work to the kitchen losing our order. Unsatisfactory. The only saving grace was that the food delicious and the manager comped our meal. I will start off by saying that I'm a huge fan of First Watch, their food, their juices, etc. Sadly, this love set me up for failure when visiting their Jacksonville location as I happened to be in town visiting some friends. This has to be quite up there with the worst service experiences I've had in restaurants, everything came out late, like REALLY late, and the waiting staff was completely unapologetic about it, they just didn't care. They somehow managed to overlook the "fast" in breakfast. I will not go into the details of the actual food, as it was ok, but the bad service really ruined a meal that believe it or not we were looking forward to. read more

I am not, nor have I ever been a morning person. Those that rise and shine all chipper and happy to be up are the nails on my chalkboard of life. However, I may have found a reason to get up earlier: First Watch! In a fit of irony, I dislike mornings but I actually enjoy breakfast food. Eggs. Bacon. Grits. Bacon. Oatmeal. Bacon. Sausage. Bacon. Omelettes. And bacon. Did I mention bacon? First Watch satisfies my need for breakfast food in such an amazing way it's become one of my favorite places to patronize. Period. And not just for breakfast, but for lunch as well. I might even get something to go for dinner. They've been populating Jacksonville for years now, from Mandarin to Riverside to Arlington. The inside is comfortable. Nothing fancy, just simple and comfortable. It has kind of a distressed wood interior way about it. The staff is usually prompt, polite, knows the menu well and are ready to make suggestions. If you're watching calories they've got them listed next to each option. They've got breakfast classics: eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, etc. A note on the toast: Their "Artisan bread" is FANTASTIC! It's thick but fluffy. I normally hate toast, but I always make sure I order some when I'm at FW. Even if my order doesn't come with toast, I ask for the artisan toast to be added. SO GOOD! First Watch also has a variety of excellent omelettes, criminally-underrated lemon-ricotta pancakes (GOTTAHAVEIT!), breakfast tacos, healthier items such as quinoa bowls, fruit dishes, egg whites, steel cut oats and more. Right now, my personal favorite is the pesto chicken quinoa bowl. ~700 calories and delicious. Like any breakfast type restaurant it lives and dies by the coffee. First Watch has good coffee no doubt about it. Even better if you opt for the iced version. Prices are definitely affordable. It's simply just a comfortable place to get some good breakfast grub or something on a lunch break. Make sure you don't wait. They normally close by about 2:30-3. We had just did the Gate River Run and we all agreed that we should come here, especially since they serve cocktails! I checked the NoWait app and saw that it was a 13-26 min wait so I got us in line figuring that by the time we got over there we would be seated. Parking within an hour of the place closing was fun. The parking lot shared with Fresh Market and BurgerFi was packed and we ended up parking on the other side of lot and walking over. I braved it instead of asking to be dropped off at the front but I was hurting. I checked in with the hostess and we were next to be seated. Thank goodness because there was quite a few people waiting. Within a few minutes, we were seated at a booth. The meal started off ok. Our server was really pleasant and friendly but then the service started sliding downhill. We asked her repeatedly for water and we never got it. One of my friends ended up getting the flavored water in the waiting area for the table as we were tired of asking. My other friend ordered a Bloody Mary and while another server was pouring it at the table some of it ended up on the table. Then a side of Millionaire Bacon was forgotten and came out after our meal was finished. But as for the food, it was very good. I ordered a Morning Meditation to drink, a juice with Orange, Lemon, Tumeric, Ginger, Agave Nectar, and and Beet syrup poured on top. First Watch does amazing juices and smoothies so you can't go wrong in what you choose and this was delish. I got the Bacado Omelette which was more avocado and monterey jack cheese than bacon so I was lucky in ordering my own Millionaire Bacon. I first experienced First Watch while living in Maryland several years ago, and was delighted to find out they finally made their way to the Riverside area in Jax. What I like about First Watch is that you don't feel "guilty" going there for brunch, the portion sizes are filling without having that feeling of being uncomfortably full for reasonable prices, and obviously the food is fantastic. People are willing to pay an extra dollar or two and wait for a table if they know the food is fresh, healthy and local. First Watch provides all three is these. Their menu is huge. For only being open for breakfast and lunch, they have an extensive menu which is great. You can come with a group as large as you want and everyone is going to find something to enjoy. The food is extraordinary, they don't have a lot of items you have never seen before. Rather they pick really good food and perfect the dishes in their way. Their avocado toast is one of the most amazing items I have had. Avocado and toast, yes it is but they have found a way to make it truly one of a kind. They use only perfectly ripe avocados, lightly season it and top it with a citrus aioli on the top of perfectly toasted, substantial wheat bread. It is served with two perfectly cooked eggs. Another example....their Cobb salad. It's extraordinary, honestly the best salad I have had in Jacksonville. Perfectly ripe salad greens topped with loads of bacon, chicken, avocado, blue cheese, egg and topped off with a very yummy, not to heavy ranch dressing. It is massive and I couldn't finish it. Their millionaires bacon is also seriously crave worthy. You can tell that they really take pride in the food they serve. Its in the Brooklyn area where fresh market and burgerfi also sits. Walking in, your greated effortlessly. One of the perks about coming here to First watch is they have a app you can use to put your name on the waitlist if it's a crowd. I learned about this at the location in Orlando. They somehow synced that app with yelp so you can use yelp for those same features! Yep, so upon entering I noticed the lunch crowd. I sat in my Booth and didn't need to look at the menu because I was CRAVING avocado toast. The waiter was very friendly and polite. After making sure I had plenty of reviews left, the fearless Matthew C, who runs the Jacksonville Elite squad, sent me the glorious welcome letter. Then, an event popped up in the app and I quickly clicked RSVP so that I could join the evening of fun and feasting at the New First Watch in Brooklyn Riverside. The restaurant wasn't even opened to the public yet! Step 1: Grab a Cocktail. To get into the event, you must show your official party pass which is sent to you prior to the big day. Everyone lines up, so the place is spilling people out the door. Then your file in to find food. This First Watch actually has alcoholic beverages!The event was kicked off with passing out two free drink vouchers to each attendee. The restaurant provided these pre-made adorable little bottles that had their featured drinks for the evening. Drink in hand, I went in search of my table. This event had assigned seating, so it was time to meet some other yelpers! I navigated my way toward the table to find my new friends and some serious yelpie swag - no event is complete without it! The Avocado Toast is my favorite (The Avocado Toast was served with thick-cut whole grain toast topped with fresh smashed avocado and I got 2 eggs over-easy to go with it), followed by the Bistro Steak Hash, and then the Pancakes. How did this restaurant get its name? Since the majority of the people who visit First Watch are not sailors, pirates or sea-farin' scallywags, well First Watch is a nautical term that refers to the very first shift of the day. It is a Cafe chain for health-minded with breakfast, brunch & lunch options such as omelets, pancakes, salads and soups. First Watch pride themselves with Healthy, flavorful menu items include house-made granola, pico de gallo, organic greens, house-roasted vegetables and cage-free eggs. There are also traditional favorites such as omelets, pancakes, sandwiches, salads and soups.  First Watch serve the restaurant's new Project Sunrise coffee, grown by an independent group of female farmers in Huila, Colombia, called Mujeres en Café. Whats not to like about this place? The food is creatively fun and delicious and those specialty drinks are great. The staff there are awesome and so attentive. We had a big bunch for sat brunch after gym time and they took great care of us! Many it was there first time so I loudly stated "Pancakes order the Pancakes" I did request that they menu the pork belly bacon as a side for those who do not like grits so next time I can add that also! I had the tri- fecta breakfast and everything was great even the Lemon curd they happily added to my pancake at my request. mmmmmmmm read more
