This is one of my favorite breakfast spots. It's my go to and everything is always consistent! Westport location is my favorite!

We had never tried out this particular first watch so we decided to check it out this weekend. It was a good size restaurant, and we were immediately greeted and given a booth. The booth actually had an opening where there was a severe draft, and we asked to be moved, and they gladly moved our seating. Our waiter was nice and did a good job throughout our visit, including giving us beverages in a to go cup when we were leaving. We got our typical meals which were delicious as always. The atmosphere was casual and calm and we would

Thanks, but no thanks. Even a free meal won't bring me back to this establishment.

I work from home and dont Drive often. So, sometimes I'll place a large order from First Watch bc if you place an order over $50 directly from the website you don't have to pay a delivery fwe. So, I placed the order but some time after realized I didnt select the delivery option so I called and explained what happened. They guys said he would cancel the order and the. I could reorder online. Cool. Decided since it was Getting laye to just wait and order lunch from somewhere else. But, I never got a refund for the $67 (plus tax) worth of food i had ordered from FW. I thought it just had to process, but a week later still nothing. So, I called and spoke with the manager, Jennifer, and explained what happened. She immediately started acting skeptical wondering why I would place such a large order. She didnt believe me!! She didn't want t give me a refund asking how did she know I'm telling the truth bc no note was left for her. So, she wanted to keep my money bc her employee didn't do his job!! When I asked if she was seriously accusing me of trying to scam her out of $67 she said no but then talk how strange it was to order so much food (I usually place large orders and eat the food over the next few days To avoid addl fees). At this point im pretty pissed bc she's threatening to not refund my money! Finally she says she'll do it "on good faith" that I'm being honest. Wtf?! I just said, "thank you for your time today" and the heifer just hung up on me: no you're welcome, no goodbye, just CLICK- yes, she placed the receiver down firmly! My bday is this month & my sister & I always go there, weather permitting, to get the bogo bday meal they send me in my email. Welp...bye bye First Watch and hello Big Biscuit!!! I'd rather pay for my meal and be treated w respect than to get a free meal from someone who's tried to accuse me of theft. Never EVER again!!!

Chimichurri Steak & Eggs Hash (seasonal), blueberry muffin, coffee, and orange juice.

I always enjoy coming to a first watch. I'm currently driving cross country and needed a GOOD breakfast. Stopped in here before heading out and was not disappointed. I was torn between the steak and egg hash or the trifecta. Caroline recommend the hash because it was seasonal and one of her favorites. So happy I went with it. It was so flavorful and filling. Caroline was amazing. Such a great personality. When she sat me she offered to bring me coffee which was perfect while I looked over the menu. Her recommendation for grilling the muffin and bringing butter made it even better. All around great experience! Thank you, Caroline!

Came to First Watch with a few friends for a casual brunch. We ordered the Bacado Omelet, the Monterey Club, and the Market Veggie Omelet. Everything was decent, fresh and satisfying, but nothing particularly stood out as amazing. It's a solid spot if you're looking for a quick and easy brunch with friends. The service was definitely a highlight, our server was friendly and attentive, and the food came out quickly. Overall, a good, reliable option, but not necessarily a place I'd go out of my way for.

Had a great visit to First Watch, which was just a short drive from my hotel, the AC Hotel in Westport KCMO. I ordered the Kale Tonic and the Farmstand Breakfast Tacos, and she had the new SoCal Hash along with a Kale Tonic too. Everything came out fast and tasted fresh. We sat on the patio since I had my pug Mojo with me, and I really appreciated how they brought him a bowl of water right away without me even asking. The waitress was super kind and attentive, and the whole experience felt easy and relaxed. I also liked the option to pay using the QR code at the table--quick and convenient. Definitely a solid brunch spot.

I enjoy eating at First Watch. My husband and I go a few times a year in Omaha. This location was close to the hotel I was staying at. Morning meditation is my favorite drink and I usually order French toast. However, I found my new favorite with the lemon ricotta pancakes. Shoutout to Isaac for being an awesome waiter.

Westport is a very busy area. And parking is always not so great. I was very happy to see this location located in a plaza with huge parking. Food - Delicious as always! I always have a good meal whenever I am here. Today, I decided go with Parma Hash, and it was very tasty, I asked for sunny side eggs, and they cooked it to perfection. Service - Maybe they were super busy. But service was definitely lacking today. We were asked to move to another table after we got done ordering because they needed our table for a big party. Totally fine. They comped us a free dessert. However, I guess the staff didn't communicate with each other, because our waitress asked who is responsible for the desert. Then we had to explain to her what happened. We were also promised for discount but we didn't get it at checkout. Also, our waitress brought us our bills as soon as the food was brought to table. Felt kinda like we were getting kick out. Overall, good food and convenience parking. I would go back.

I haven't been in a First Watch in about 20 years and the last time i was in this space it was seeing a concert at the Record Bar in a previous lifetime. i was a bit shocked to see it decorated in a mid-western agricultural motif, a farmhouse vibe that i had not encountered in NKC a long time ago. No issues, in fact it seemed to give the joint a bit of Breakfast authenticity, even though the menu contained just as much kale as it did gravy. Our Gingerbread Spiced Donut were the perfect starter to a XMas eve brunch! The light cinnamon coated holes were accompanied by the most amazing caramel dipping sauce ever! My B and G was very good and my wife said her pancakes were the fluffiest ever. Friendly hostess and server, great menu, centrally located... an overlooked breakfast / lunch spot no longer!

My wife and I shared the meat lovers breakfast burrito and it was good size and filled with the filling. Our friend got the breakfast enchiladas and said it was very good, she likes the green sauce over the red. I didn't personally try so I can't say how it was. My son ordered the traditional breakfast, and that's exactly what it was, but he liked it. The pancakes are the size of the plate and had a fluffy center and crispy edges. We did have to ask for more syrup because they were so big. The only reason it was not a 5 was because I felt the waitress could have been around more. I felt that since we had a group of 7 and the gratuity was already added she didn't worry about it. Our waters went empty and we had to ask a different waiter for more water and syrup, when she came over the water was warm and didn't have any ice. A kid spilled her syrup we went and asked for a rag and we cleaned it up which we expected but we had to flag someone down to see if she could get more syrup. I just felt she wasn't as attractive as she could have been. We went there on a Monday around 9:45, so it wasn't extremely busy. I would say that you should try it, it was good food!

These biscuits are stacked so high and loaded so heavy, you'll need a game plan, a fork, and maybe a pep talk from your server (who, by the way, is probably the nicest person you've ever met before 10 a.m.). Let's start with the Bloody Marys--absolute perfection. Spicy, savory, and went down easy! Pair that with the fact that my biscuit sandwich came out looking like a Jenga tower of delicious chaos, and I knew I was in for something special. The first bite? Fireworks. The last bite? A fork fight at the table over the remaining crumbs. One of my sandwiches came dripping with sauce like it was starring in its own Food Network slow-mo reel. The other was a crunchy, tangy, biscuit-lovin' masterpiece stacked with perfectly fried chicken, cabbage slaw, and dreams. This place is not for the faint of appetite. You will leave full. You will need a nap. And you will already be planning your next visit before you even finish your drink. 10/10. Bring your hunger, your friends, and stretchy pants.

To step through its threshold is to surrender to the siren song of warmth that curls from the oven like a whispered secret. I have made it my pilgrimage to traverse the entirety of their menu, a culinary odyssey that has yielded no false steps, only a symphony of consistency that borders on the miraculous. Each offering, from the flaky, golden architecture of their pastries to the robust, honest comfort of their savory fare, is a testament to the artisan's hand. Here, affordability is not a sacrifice of quality but a generous invitation, a rare confluence where the exquisite meets the accessible. There is a certain magic in the air at McLain's, a sweetness that feels woven into the very fabric of the establishment. It is a place that understands the language of comfort, speaking it fluently in the dialect of a perfect crust or the rich, dark notes of a expertly pulled espresso. It is perhaps no surprise that such a bastion of authentic delight has garnered a reputation that extends far beyond our local borders; if the standard of excellence is high enough to grace the plate of Taylor Swift, then surely, it is more than enough for us, the grateful residents who claim this treasure as our own. Yet, beyond the flour-dusted counters and the glowing glass cases, my deepest admiration is reserved for their spirit. In a world that often measures worth in cold, transactional metrics, McLain's chooses to honor those who pour themselves into the future of our community. As a teacher, I feel that recognition in the small gestures, the welcoming nods, and the genuine appreciation they extend to educators. It is a profound kindness, a recognition that the work of shaping minds requires nourishment, both intellectual and literal. They understand that a classroom is a marathon, and they act as the essential pit stop, providing the fuel that keeps the light of inquiry burning bright. To dine at McLain's is to participate in a ritual of belonging. It is a place where the passage of time is marked not by the ticking of a clock, but by the turning of the oven trays. It is a reliable heartbeat in the neighborhood, steadfast and true, offering a reprieve from the clamor of the outside world. Whether one seeks a quiet moment of reflection over a cup of coffee or a celebratory feast that honors the simple, profound joy of eating well, McLain's remains an unrivaled steward of taste. It is not merely a bakery; it is the living, breathing soul of Waldo, a place where every bite serves as a reminder that some things in this life are exactly as good as they ought to be.

A few months ago my sister and I hosted a baby shower for our other sister and after looking around an options we decided to go with McLains. It was a smaller group, and we were doing a brunch theme, and our sister LOVES sweets. That paired with our desire to support local, and our shared love of McLains, this was just the most obvious choice. We ended up ordering a cake and first of all I have to say their cake flavor choices are insane - I think we settled on a chocolate cake with peanut butter filling (YUM), but I don't think you can go wrong here. We also ordered one of their pre-set pastry bundles for pick up and honestly everything was wonderful. I think I placed the order about a week out and it was ready when I came to pick it up. What pushed this experience into five star category for me? Just the friendliness of the staff, the serving tools they send you home with, and how thoughtful everyone was. The food was also really just exactly what we needed and it was so good there were hardly any leftovers, I think the kids cleared us out by lunch! At any rate, if you're on the hunt for a great spot to support for your next brunch event consider McLains - they won't let you down!

You can only get them on Saturday or Sunday because it takes a days to ferment and laminate the dough. The quality of their ingredients shines in even the simplest plain croissant.
