I feel like First Watch is a reliable to-go place to eat. This location is the closest to my apartment as well as work place. Their lunch specials are s great deal and you can get a salad! Unfortunately, my salad was soggy but I'll consider that part of my 5 minute walk to my office in this KC summer heat. Another time I came with my friend, and they were awesome with the food and service. I think I personally like the Overland Park location better. Their service is A++ (if that's even a thing?!). However my Westport location is just as great and the perfect location. Make sure to use the wait line app on Yelp to save time. We did use it once before we got there and it was a breeze. Just had an excellent brunch there. Food was fantastic and service even better. Told them we had to be at Starlight Theatre by certain time and they were happy to accommodate seating us quickly outside, ordering immediately and bringing bill while we ate. I am 100% in love with First Watch!! The Yelp App lead me to this incredible brunch spot and I've thoroughly enjoyed every meal I've had there. The first time I visited First Watch, I was dining solo. They told me I could skip the 30 minute wait if I agreed to dine at the Community Table. Why of course! I sat at a large table of about 8 random people and we all made slightly awkward small talk while enjoying our omelets. Strangely enough, it was a delightful time. Service has always been top-notch and extremely friendly. Food is always beyond delicious and the coffee is strong and your cup never goes empty. We stopped here for a late breakfast around 1000 on a Monday. We were promptly seated and greeted by our waitress. We ordered some soda and water. The restaurant was pretty busy, but it took a little bit too long to get our drinks. Oh well, no big deal because the food made up for it. There are plenty of vegetarian options on the menu here, but I opted for an egg white Acapulco Express omelet sans bacon. It had avocado, green chilies, onions, cheese, and sour cream. It came with a side of homemade salsa, an English muffin, and potatoes. The omelet was promptly devoured, as was the rest of my plate. Overall, I really liked First Watch. The service was a bit lacking, but it's a place I'll definitely come back to, especially if I am entertaining friends or family. Had lunch here today with a friend. Had their Green Special, which was a 3 egg omelet with spinach, blanched broccoli, roasted squash, onions, jack cheese and pesto hollandaise sauce. Ordered fruit instead of the potatoes and it came with a toasted English Muffin. Lots of coffee, a quiet place for conversation and a good filling meal to catch up with a friend. Since I'm a breakfast person, I do like First Watch because I can always get something I like and the special today fit that bill. The food is fresh and the wait staff attentive. I really have loved First Watch and have been going here over the years and have looked forward to going to them when I travel as there isn't one where I currently live. (Salt Lake City) I don't know what it is but lately I have found that they don't have many traditional items anymore and it seems like they don't have a good mix of protein/carb balanced breakfast items. I could be wrong? They do have healthy options but i have ordered them numerous times and they have either been bland or unfilling...a frustrating experience. There is a restaurant chain called Snooze in various US Cities that nails breakfast perfectly. I wish First Watch could be a little bit more like them. read more

This is an unbelievable manager story. My brother and sister-in-law just arrived from out of town. So I treated them to First Watch. After we finished our good breakfast and had good service. The manager aggressively stood at our table and loudly asked her if she was the one that reported the problem at the restroom. She motioned him to come around so she didn't have to shout and said "yes there is feces on the floor." He angrily replied that there wasn't. My brother said are you going to debate her over something like that at our table? So she got up again to show a female employee. It was still there HE DID NOT APOLOGIZE TO HER OR US OVER THE INCIDENT. When paying and asked if everything was ok, I told her that the manager's behavior was outrageous! She apologized and then quietly said that he treated the employees in the same manner!! I have left a message at corporate. I was so embarrassed to bring my guests here and have them treated so rudely in a public restaurant for just informing them of a health issue. First Watch in Westport has made a lot of progress recently with the renovation and menu improvements. Attached are photos of a few of the things that I've enjoyed here recently - the smoked salmon frittata, lemon ricotta pancakes, avocado toast, million dollar bacon, and the açai squeeze. The avocado toast is really tasty and fresh. The salmon frittata is good but a bit unusual. If you come during brunch on the weekend, be prepared to wait for a bit. Hostess: "Uhhh, You just want a table for 6?" Customer: "No actually, I'd like a table for 4, and then a table for 2. There will be 4 teens at one table and then another table for just 2 of us." Having been a "brunch queen" in my previous life living in Los Angeles, I wanted to find a place to take my girls after an arduous week of exams. I've been here twice before I decided to write this review. Each time, I was impressed with not only the food, but the service and the vibe as well. The servers are VERY accommodating and will offer samples if you are unsure an item is for you. I love that kind of culture in a restaurant! Tip: make sure you order the lemon pancakes! First Watch is so good!! I always get the Superfoods AM Bowl with coconut chia seed pudding and toast with some almond butter on it. This meal is over 1000 calories, vegan, and super healthy! It is usually hard for me to finish because it is so filling but I love it so much I've even tried to recreate it at home. My boyfriend got the French Toast and he really liked it. We also got the million dollar bacon to split and it was scrumptious. It is cooked with some maple I think. The only thing is that I wish they were open all day. They close at 2 PM. I wasn't sure what to expect when my wife and I went to First Watch in Old Westport, but I can verify it completely exceeded my expectations. My wife had told me that she remembered eating at First Watch in Lawrence over 15 years ago and could only remember it as being typical diner food such as Denny's. The food and decor is nothing like a typical diner and we were very impressed the minute we stepped foot into First Watch. There are many items on the menu to choose from and I have no doubt you can't go wrong with anything. We had the Million Dollar Bacon (absolutely amazing) and the Avocado Toast. You can tell that a lot of thought and quality ingredients goes into their food. We were told that First Watch had basically reinvented itself and its image over time and my wife was so impressed with what it has become compared to what she remembers. Food was OKAY. I got the eggs Benedict, and a purple haze lemonade, the lemonade was pretty amazing, and my eggs were good, but it was a pathetically small portion for the price. My husband asked me to bring him home some French toast and scrambled eggs, so I did, and when we opened the bag the French toast was barely soaked in any egg, and the side of scrambled eggs was like half a freaking egg. Eggs is plural guys. The kitchen is slacking and I won't be wasting my money here again. My waitress was nice though. All in all it's not worth another trip for me. read more

Nom! Great casual setting with healthy and traditional breakfast options. Not the least expensive but not crazy expensive. Will definitely return if I am back in the area. I had granola bowl with yogurt...less granola than I've had at other places and they add powdered sugar on top for some reason so if you want to be healthier be sure to ask them not to add the powdered sugar. The granola ball also comes with a muffin and I asked for the blueberry muffin and decided to keep it and have it later as a snack and it was one of the best muffins I've ever had! read more
