    French toast

The service was great, the waitress serving us was very nice and welcoming. We got a seat right away despite it being busy and the food came out quick! The ambiance was great and it was a perfect setting for some morning brunch!

First time at this location and the review is not as good as all my visits to other locations. First I was greeted by Seth with a big friendly smile. Randy was my server and he is a great server and very personable. I ordered the Traditional Breakfast with scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, fresh fruit and dry sourdough toast. The eggs arrived cool and dried out. I suspect they sat for awhile before being served. I know you guys can do better. The bacon arrived cool but it was crispy. The fresh fruit didn't look or taste very fresh. Visually the spots and discoloration was unappealing. I tasted a couple pieces and the fruit was over ripe. I enjoyed the sourdough toast with jelly. When I come back, please show me how great you guys really are.

This is the Floridian French toast, and the million dollar bacon behind it. I was anxious to dig in.

My food was wonderful. Just made my tummy feel good. Our server was such a sweet gal and very attentive. The restaurant was very popular that day. We had to wait quite a while even though I was on the waitlist, but my friend and I were anxious to enjoy our breakfast. Our little table had nice upholstered chairs, which I like because they're more comfortable than the wood chairs. I had the Floridian French toast and it was so delicious ! The little cup with blueberry sauce was delightful. The million dollar bacon was such a treat. I knew I couldn't eat it, but I ordered the blueberry cornbread to go. Overall, my friend and I were very happy that we chose to go to First Watch. I will be there again soon.

I tried the Belgian waffle with the real maple syrup, berry compote, and cinnamon sugar. Delicious! My husband had the traditional with eggs, potatoes with onions and tomatoes, sausage, and toast. Yum! The restaurant is cute with interesting artwork. It's got a very casual and relaxin feel to it. The staff is amazing and accommodating. Everyone is very friendly.

First watch has to be one of the best breakfast spots I've ever had and I've had them in 2 different states and the food is always extraordinary. The service is great and they always keep things clean. The waffles are fluffy and sweet, the bacon is savory, the eggs are cooked how you like and the potatoes are flavorful and crispy. I would recommend them over and over!

Trifecta with egg whites, turkey sausage, and the Floridian French toast

Oh man, do I love this place! One of my favorite things is that the food is made with healthy ingredients (there's actually food in the food). I'm normally there right when they open for breakfast, but today I met a friend for lunch at 11:30. The place was PACKED. Nevertheless, the very friendly host seated us quickly, and we got great service from a very friendly waitress. The coffee was outstanding ... as usual. And I love that they bring me a whole carafe of decaf. Love that! I saw someone order the Floridian French Toast last time I was at a FW, and swore I'd try it next time. But I'm usually healthier than that, so I was wavering today. When the waitress found out, she suggested that I get the Trifecta, and upcharge the pancake to the specialty french toast. That way I'd get some healthy protein and a single slice of the french toast (with all the fruit), instead of 3 slices. Perfect! And it was absolutely delicious. The only problem is that I wanted to order a 2nd one. Well, that, and (as you can no doubt tell from the picture), the turkey sausage was small and not very aesthetically pleasing. Tasted good though. Anyway, I appreciated her helpful suggestion, and was glad I took her up on it. Another thing... Even though the place was packed, my friend and I were able to have a conversation that we could each hear and felt private. I love that. It's kinda an art. And I never felt pressured to get up and go so that someone else could have our table. I like that too. Overall, a great experience ... as usual. Can't wait for next time.

We visited First Watch in Kirkwood on a Saturday morning for breakfast. We arrived at 9am and were immediately seated. As we progressed through breakfast, though, it did get extremely busy and there was quite a wait by the time we were leaving. The food was simple but we were very impressed with it. It is a standard American fare type of menu but still tasty. I ordered the Smoked Salmon and Roasted Vegetable Frittata and was very happy with my selection The chive cream drizzle on the top definitely made the entire dish. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy and it was consistent with other diners - nothing out of the ordinary or outstanding, but consistent and delicious nonetheless. I also ordered the Honey Caramel Crunch Iced Coffee and loved this drink! It was very sweet so if you don't like your coffee sweet, I would stay away from this. The cold foam and toffee crumbles on top were a great touch.

    Million dollar bacon

Food is simple but tasty. The million dollar bacon is a must. Thick cut, sweet and spicy. The service is quick and our server was very kind and prompt. We didn't run out of a drink the whole time. I got the farmhouse skillet, and it was very oily. It seemed like it was drowning in a pool of grease. Still tasted good, just expected a little lighter. Honestly, the toast was amazing. Thick cut and toasted to perfection. So so good.

    The avocados were very bad

First time coming to this First Watch and probably won't be coming back. The waitress was okay. She only came around once and that was after she was flagged down by my friend but the food was very mediocre / bad. I ordered the Bacado omelette and my friend ordered the trifecta. First the avocado in my omelette was covered in rotting spots and of course it was the avocado in the inside and not the singular slice on the top of my omelette... it also didn't have cheese in it like it was suppose to. Then my friend's order they gave her the wrong type of sausage and her eggs were cold.

My son and I came to brunch on a Sunday. Super packed, but because the website has a "join list" button, we only waited about 10 minutes once we arrived. We were quickly met by our server, and food came out super quick. It was kind of loud in the restaurant, but he and I could talk across the table without trouble. If you are wanting to catch up and talk with a long-lost friend (lol), it may be difficult to hear.

We hand a bit of a wait, but that was to be expected since it was a nice (but very hot) day out. The patio was busy but not packed. The hostess was aware that we had a large dog, but still placed us in a very odd spot on the patio - with high rise tables squished together. We also had a decent amount of sun, so we couldn't stay long as it was just too hot and we didn't have a lot of space. They did also seat an elderly woman at the high top table behind us, who came in with a walker. I found that odd too - to make her try ti climb up in the chairs. Thankfully we were there to help her. Service was ok. Our waitress visited our table a few times at first but then disappeared for a long time before we could get another drink or eventually our check. Aside from the seating and most of the service, our visit was fine. Food was good. My drink was very strong but still fine. It was definitely a different experience than i remember from the past, so I was a tad disappointed. I should have asked to be moved, but we had waited so long already, I didn't want to wait more.

The chips were hard and not salty like you would expect them to be for tortilla chips. I didn't complain, just ate a little and that's it. The drinks were really good. So many gnats around, it was awful, and we sat inside. They have a really nice patio for live bands. So for me, the food is always a miss but the drinks are good.

Overall rating 3.5/5, even though I can't give half stars here on Yelp. One star for ambiance/vibes. This is a gorgeous, quaint little eatery in a lush area of Saint Louis County, right near Grant's Trail. One star for service. My server was a kind lady who made sure I was always doing well and kept my water glass topped off. One star for going above and beyond--I ordered gooey butter cake as a sweet treat and apparently whomever cut the slices made them too small so they gave me two but only charged me for one. Half a star for the gooey butter cake and espresso martini. Neither was the best instance of either I've ever had but they were the best part of the actual meal. Unfortunately, I think I made the wrong entree choice. I went with the biscuit (singular) and gravy and a side of sausage links. The biscuit is described as "jumbo" but didn't feel much bigger than what I'd consider a regular-sized biscuit. It also wasn't nearly as fluffy as I would have liked and was quite tough and hard at points, nearly requiring the use of a knife to cut it. The gravy was relatively flavorless and wasn't improved much by either salt or pepper. The sausage links were passable. I'm willing to give the shop another shot (and order something different) once I try some other brunch places on my list but I was a little disappointed on this visit because I wanted to like my food more.

A few of the employees -- people perhaps in their early 20s who did not appear to take their jobs as seriously as the cashier -- were engaged in a private conversation behind the counter. The cashier and customers had to wait a moment to get their attention about a menu item that had been discontinued, though the online menu we found had not been updated. We had a group of 8 people. We sat upstairs. I wasn't all over the setup of the space. Perhaps half of the seating is upstairs and the stairs have a bend/turn. The person bussing lost control of the tray. From what I could see, in her attempt to regain control of the tray, she fell and broke something or some glass cut her and she was bleeding quite a lot before she left for treatment. I think smaller trays may be in order, or a dumbwaiter, or perhaps an employee with better upper body control could do this task. Between that and a comment said by one of the waitstaff that I prefer not to repeat, I am hoping I caught them on an "off" day. We need more businesses like this one. The food was good, too, so I will return.
