First Watch is so good. I took a star off because there is always a wait on the weekends and it can be like an hour and a half. The service is always pretty good and straightforward. The breakfast is also really good and consistent. Every time I go, I know my food will taste like the last time I had it. However, I wouldn't recommend their breakfast potatoes and the lunch menu is not good. If you stick to the breakfast menu, you'll enjoy! read more

A nice place for a pretty good breakfast. The huevos rancheros were spicy and satisfying, with guacamole and eggs over easy on crispy tortillas with a side salad. So I have currently been seated for 20 minutes and I think they forgot about me. Had to go to the hostess to get my order in. There is only 5 guest in here currently. I was the third to be seated and the two after me are already eating. I been here before and got great service but I don't know what's going on today. Shout out to the the lady who was standing at the host stand and became my waitress she is currently saving me from starvation. That's the root of my frustration I'm starving look forward to the food. Food came it was good. Got a lot of "im sorry" for nobody taking my order. I sat in the self seating area and my waitress never came over. After 10 minutes the hostess took my order and was very nice. I had the Smoke Salmon and Cucumber Toast. It is a limited dish and will end this week. It was good but the salmon was cut very thick and almost too overwhelming for me. I could only eat one half. I am still waiting on a to go box. We recently visited this First Watch location to see how they handled my young daughter's dairy allergy--we'd had issues at the Bowie First Watch. I must say that this location listened and accommodated what we needed to make sure my daughter was able to eat what she wanted. They offered suggestions, but were also very open to trying a new way to cook something to ensure it was safe for my daughter. This will be our location of choice from now on. read more

I still love this place! I'm a regular and go every Sunday so my review may be bias! Waits are often long so I sit at the community table and make friend ! Some of the waiters/waitresses often need to be reminded your there and bring menus but I feel this is a management issue as they may be spreading the servers too thin! Went back for a third time after being asked to give them another shot. Iced coffee still just as excellent. Waiter today was attentive and friendly. Had the steak and eggs - eggs, toast, potatoes were very yummy. The steak was a little tough but I have extremely high expectations of steak so I don't know if I am the best judge. I have been to first watch too many times to count but what stood out about the laurel location is our server, Destin! He was amazingly professional and courteous even though he was the greeter, server, and bust boy all while my husband and I ate our breakfast. I will ask for him personally next time we visit. I have gone to First Watches in the Mid West and South. This one has a nice modern layout. It's great to have a nice new breakfast alternative in Laurel. Both the IHOP andSilver diner are showing their age. Unlike some of the reviews my food came out fAst and hot. In the past it could have been opening growing pains. Well my 1st going and it was welcoming. I was solo so I decided to sit at the communal table. Joe, my server was prompt, friendly and constantly checking in on me. Actually met someone at the table and conversation was great. Made my french toast with fruit with a side of bacon even better. Overall good food with great conversation. read more

I've never had a bad time at First Watch until today. This location opened and patrons in the area were excited about having an additional location. However, the service is subpar its not the servers, its the kitchen. Food wait times are beyond pathetic. At a table for 4 and waited over an hour for food. The weekends at breakfast food-focused restaurants are understandably busy. Wait times for tables are understood but an hour for FOOD is inexcusable. DO BETTER. PERIOD. read more

Unfortunately I have to drop the stars on my review of this place. The last 3 times I have come here, the wait time has been excruciatingly long despite checking in on their wait time app. I'm not sure what the issue is, but sometimes the app is broken and at other times, it's not.clear that they are even using it. But my biggest complaint about this place is burned bacon. They consistently burn the bacon here. I sent it back 3 times this morning and they were never able to cook it properly. It was utterly gross inedible and hard enough to chip a molar. You would think that a place that only serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch would be able to cook this key breakfast food properly, but no. Every time it's drama with the bacon, to the point where I want to enter the kitchen and show the chefs my technique for not burning bacon! Anyway, I'm not sure if it's worth it to keep coming here if they cannot cook food properly. I think the long wait times are really about the community and family atmosphere...unforrunately I can't eat armosphere. read more

I had a party of 18 on a Saturday to celebrate my daughter's 7th Birthday. Amber, the manager, was awesome! As busy as they were, she took time to speak with me by phone, she walked me through how to use the Nowait app, and kept in communication with me. My table was ready within minutes of our arrival. Jackie took great care of our large group. She was accurate, responsive and pleasant. Love this place! From décor all the way to how they serve water and hot tea, everything was very modern-casual. You can see they really have attention to details on everything. We did Mother's Day breakfast to go and everything was tasty. Also for Mother's Day there wasn't a huge wait on take out or dine in. We only did take out because my daughter wasn't feeling well. Good food using local ingredients, but I thought it was a bit overpriced. We came during the week when it wasn't crowded (you can barely get a table on the weekends). The bacon and avocado omelette was good but not great and the home fries were a bit undercooked, but I do like mine to be a bit crisp. We put our names on the list arrived at assigned time - still waited half an hour for a table. We have been coming regularly since they opened - no more, last few times they have been totally a mess! We just ordered pancakes and French toast and then our server ignored our table. After almost 45 minutes, he tried to tell us they were just busy - we watched other tables seated after us be served. Then after asking again, our order came out cold and the bottoms over done (like someone tried to reheat) The kitchen was disorganized and a mess. Guy emptying glasses from the dishwasher was flicking stuff off the glasses before outing them on a tray - no sign of management any where. Don't bother, not worth the wait. read more

The second trip was extremely better than the first! We did go on a Tuesday oppose to a Sunday so I gave it four starts oppose to five because it wasn't the same level of traffic. I digress. We were greeted immediately by Gayle our hostess/server. She was very professional and friendly. She checked on us periodically and our food came out all at once this time. Everything tastes great except my potatoes were a little cool (didn't fuss about it) but they were still delicious. It was quite quiet and slower than before but the service was 10x's better. Gayle you were amazing and I plan on coming back another time because you provided great customer service from the moment I walked in up until the point I left the establishment. Let's see, the wait area for seating is way to small. When you sit, it feels like they set up the seating to maximize customers instead of for comfort (not that big of a deal, but something I noticed). The prices are not bad, good menu for kids too. Great customer service, ambiance and the food is fresh, great variety and delicious! I love coming here, the portions are just right I don't leave feeling guilty about what I ate. Also, as a Catholic I appreciated the "no meat" options provided for lent season. I had the salmon Benedict and my husband had the avocado and egg sandwich and everything was delicious. Give it a try. I am not so fond of their name and logo, it doesn't scream breakfast to me.. at first I thought it was a weigh watchers place until I went in to see what it was all about.
