We had to go back today! I'm dreaming about the oatmeal! It's INCREDIBLE. The service is fantastic, the restaurant clean and cozy- but honestly, the food is just amazing. GO.

Wow, I would like to thank Brittany for making our visit to first watch out here in Springhurst really really memorable. The food was absolutely fantastic. Got a A+ plus from everybody at the table. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming and honestly, this was one of the better experiences I've had at first watch so again thank you Brittany. Come on over you guys and have a sit down. This is a really great place.

Im so glad they opened a location here! They used to only have the one on Hurstbourne for the longest time. They took over the building that used to be O'Charley's (RIP). But they share with La Rosa's as well. When we came in, it was busy but there were a number of tables open inside and outside. We had placed our names on a waitlist online and got seated right away. I started off with drip coffee since I wanted caffeine while my sister got the morning meditation which was orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar and beet juice. My mom got a special that was a dragonfruit juice. Not sure the name. But they both really liked the drinks! Refreshing! For food, I got the Trifecta, I chose the waffle and chicken sausage, then replaced the eggs with just egg whites. My mom got the pumpkin pancake breakfast. So good! My sister got the million dollar breakfast sandwich. She thought it was good but messy to eat. My dad got the healthy turkey, which was an egg white omelette with veg. He enjoyed it! We all really loved the food! I find that first watch is kind of hit or miss. Sometimes it's a solid 4 stars and other times it's 5 depending on what you order. Service is always quick here. We got our drinks quickly and didn't wait long for the food. Our server was nice and kept checking on us. The interior is very modern. Pretty much like other First Watches, but this one had less decor and wasn't as rustic. Only a couple wooden frames were hung up. Parking wasn't bad. The parking lot was almost filled but there were a handful of spots open. I'm sure I'll be back!

Michael was THEE BEST SERVER I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED DINING OUT!!!! It started as a simple brunch date with my mom, and it turned into an enjoyable, satisfying, FUNNY, and blessed encounter. The food could have been gross and I would have come back just to be served by Micheal. He was very attentive, accommodated our every need, sometimes even before we could mention it. The food was hot, fresh, and tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed the new B.E.C sandwhich, and although I didnt care for the field greens, Michael gladly substituted it for cheesy grits. The lavender french toast was very flavorful and a new addition to the menu. One comment that he made stuck with me after my mom had mentioned she was "good", he said but it's not great, let me make it great, and he did just that. TOP NOTCH SERVICE. The icing on the experience was the jokes he kept giving us the whole time.....I had tears in my eyes. There was so much food we both had leftovers. First Watch never disappoints. Of course I will be back.

This is a BINGO!!! OMG I am a monster when it comes to breakfast . You know when you were a kid,and you would ask your friend if you could only have one meal a day what would it be?? For me BREAKFAST. And if it's not homemade .. it will be First Watch. I know, that's a bold statement. I say it and I believe it. I went to more than one location, in more than one state with our family's traveling. I can say with confidence that First Watch NAILS IT, with a ball-pin hammer. The service always with a smile and extra punk points for leaving the craft of hot fresh coffee at the table, all my nurse friends just perked up. I have made it a point to venture out of my comfort zone and try something different every time we go. The seasonal menu is fall, the Brussel sprout hash with chilli crunch oil is just ridiculously delicious. The French toast made with custard style egg dipped..ummm hello yes please. The potatoes are fried in a skillet not a deep frier, locking in a potato flavor and a nice crunch, for the love of G_d don't change that. The bread is excellent made just for First Watch thick sliced, great for catching all the egg yoke with real butter or fresh made jams ,(strawberry or triple berry or apple butter ) , all of it lick the plate clean worthy. I could ramble on with this but you just need to go yourself. Portions are filling. You won't be disappointed.

    Cold squeezed orange juice?

Got seated at 10:58 100% cold hand squeezed orange juice was processed and came out of a jug. Herbal tea was just flavored green tea Received my food at 11:58 Food was okay at best Ciabatta bread with the salmon was rock hard and completely impossible to eat. Bacon was burnt French toast was just bread with some seasoning The only reason we didn't leave was because we didn't want to wait for food elsewhere. Couldn't leave less than one star review or I would have. Waitress did a great job, was honest and very polite. Won't be coming back however.

This is a great and casual location and space, it has a great patio and plenty of parking. We came here after going for a walk and got seated pretty quickly even though there was a 15 min wait. We sat on the patio and received our menus. We waited 30 mins and was passed by several servers without an acknowledgment to the table or even someone coming to take our drinks. I understand a lot of places are short staffed, but I would think you would be able to acknowledge a table. When we finally got our food which took an additional 20 mins, the food was delicious.

We definitely found the right place. The patio area with the Koi pond and waterfall was perfect. My wife and I had the Fried Green Tomatoes and Selena's Crab Caps. Their menu looks amazing as did the specials of the day. We didn't have time to eat a full meal, but did enjoy our time outside. Our server was great and one of the owners did come by to check on us also. I would definitely come back to try more of their food.

I'm not sure if the $2 version was a smaller size or only offered at certain times, but honestly... the drinks were still worth it. The flavor was amazing, and unlike a lot of brunch drinks that taste watered down, these were actually strong. Two glasses definitely had me feeling tipsy, so I can't complain too much there. The main reason I took off a star was the parking situation and accessibility concerns. The handicap parking is positioned perpendicular to the main road, which honestly feels unsafe when backing out. If someone already has mobility or visibility limitations, backing directly into a busy road can be stressful and dangerous. The rest of the parking area is also gravel, which can be difficult to navigate with mobility aids, wheelchairs, walkers, or even just for someone unsteady on their feet. It's one of those situations where it's great that handicap parking exists close to the entrance, but the actual setup still creates challenges. Outside of that, the drinks themselves were genuinely really good, the atmosphere was fun, and I'd probably still come back for another brunch date.

My grandson was at a sleepover and my granddaughter picked Cheddar's for "her" night out. I think she picked it solely based on the honey glazed rolls they serve as appetizers. I had a burger. The burger itself was obviously hand-made or made in-house and was likely frozen (perfectly shaped and formed) but it had a decent flavor. The "toppings", however, elevated the burger from ho-hum status to "pretty decent". My wife and son both had the steak tips over rice. The steak was very good and the sauce (gravy) was very flavorful but a bit too salty. Depsite the sodium - they did both enjoy their meal. Service was good but not exceptional - I think they were short-staffed since there were quite a few empty tables but they weren't seating people right away.

We had a conversation with the owner who has degrees in Food Science and Culinary Arts, and is passionate about "changing the world with food." The inside is cozy, inviting, and meticulously clean. There is a small bar area and an area of table seating. Outdoor seating is available as well. The bistro is known for one of its appetizer small plates of deviled eggs. The owner said that the recipe for the eggs is one of the few things he is not wiling to share! Employees and patrons have drawn pictures of deviled eggs that are displayed on a wall space. I opted for the grilled chicken Greek salad. Greek salad is a favorite of mine and I have eaten it from numerous restaurants. By far, this was the best I have ever had. The artful presentation, fresh ingredients, and decadent flavors were a real treat. The chicken was so tender and again, the flavor bloomed in my mouth. The owner brought out a small serving of homemade peach ice cream that had been made the day before with fresh peaches. I simply have no words for how delicious it was. I will let my husband describe his experience in his yelp account, but I will say that after having salmon the night before at an 'upscale' restaurant in Louisville, he commented that the salmon at this bistro "blew it away!" People often say "I will return and try other menu options," when in fact they do not follow through. That will not be the case with us, we both agree that we cannot wait to return!

I've had some really good meals here and I've had some really bad meals here. As of the last year or so, the meals are more often bad than not. Especially once you factor in the price tag. I will say, our last several visits have been on a Sunday afternoon; not sure if that plays a factor in our experience or not. The some beach cocktail was awful and tasted like straight cheap coconut rum (I've had it before and it was quite good). The tempura vegetables chef feature appetizer was missing the sweet potatoes and pickled carrots advertised, the tempura breading didn't stick to the vegetables hardly at all, the broccoli pieces were so large they had to be cut up before they could be eaten, and the lotus root was way too thick. The server was oblivious about the chef's features. Made comment about it several times and was confused when I ordered some of the chef's features. If it's new, I get it, but would recommend he take a few minutes to familiarize himself. The seared spinalis I ordered cooked medium came out well done, end pieces were burnt to a crisp and tough. My wife ordered a well done New York strip that came out medium at best and the whipped potatoes were SWIMMING in butter. The potatoes may be as the Chef wanted them to be, I'm not sure, but if so, I don't know why anyone would want this. By the time you stir in all that extra butter you have very thin greasy potatoes bordering on potato soup. The server did offer to re-fire my steak and have my wife's cooked more to which we declined. I'm not a fan of doing that, especially cooking a stake more the second time because the outside becomes too done/burnt and the inside becomes dry. At this price point, she should have been offered a fresh steak in my opinion. The manager came by later and offered again, to which my Wife gave in and let her have it brought up to temp. To no one's surprise, it came back with the outside burnt to a crisp and the rest dry and tough (Even more so than well done already is. I recognize that well done steaks are tough/dry in general but she has been eating them here for years and brags about how they still manage to get it tender and juicy from her perspective). She also made mention that the herbed butter that comes with the bread wasn't very flavorful and nowhere near as good as normal and that we should have taken that as a sign. The server ended up comping my steak, which I appreciate. In all fairness, they made an effort to make it right. I feel like they could have done a bit more, especially with her steak but I'm not really upset about the service/response. It's just that the last several visits have been very sub par for the price point and from the quality I know Malones is capable of providing.

The cocktail menu features several cocktail specialties, a deep wine and bourbon menu, some other spirits, and a variety of primarily KY brewed beers. I had a couple of the latter options, and each of my two beers (neither of which I'd had before, a "Stone House" traditional lager and a "Kentucky Commons" low ABV cream ale). Our table split a couple of appetizers--the chili wantons and the spinach dip. Both were good with the slight edge to the wantons as they were fairly unique and very flavorful. The menu is not overwhelming--there are just over a dozen or so primary entree options but each looked very promising. I ended up going with the special, which that night was sea bass on jasmine rice with tomatoes. The sea bass was parmesan encrusted and super flavorful, literally every bite of my meal was on point. Great sauce that wasn't overwhelming, the fish and rice perfectly cooked, the little cherry tomatoes the best I've had all season. My wife had the fish tacos and loved them as well. Service was friendly. For the quality and ingredients, prices were fair. I'd say the drinks are even cheap. Dessert looked great, but none of us had room to try any. It was a rainy night and we were in the basement area, which is covered but doesn't have full enclosure, so it was loud as the rain hit the side covering, but dry and nice overall. We noticed two of the bar areas were empty on our way out, which looked like nice quiet places to meet. There's also the full upstairs dining room which looked nice. Reservations highly recommended.
