    Blueberry cornbread

First time trying First Watch! Will definitely be back. To eat, we had the blueberry cornbread, lemon ricotta pancakes, and the breakfast quesadilla. Everything was great! I appreciate the emphasis on ingredients that was highlighted on the menu. The portions here are large which is great for leftovers or sharing a meal. To drink, I enjoyed the berry tea. I'd definitely get this again. My only complaint about the tea is that it says refills on the menu but when I asked for one the server looked at me like I was crazy and I said "I guess I can do that for you." Such a weird thing to say. The service here was slightly lacking but it seemed as though they might be unstaffed or having an unexpected rush as we came to have brunch on a random Monday.

Service was great! The ambiance is cute farmhouse meets industrial. Food was fantastic with large servings!

We rode the Spyder over to First Watch this morning! It was busy, but we were seated right away. The things they are doing with strip mall spaces is great! The decor was rustic and super clean. Staff was pleasant and attentive. They have ton of options that are different from a regular southern breakfast. Lots of new choices! The food was fresh and tasted great!

As someone who grew up in Lynchburg with 0 brunch places, I'm so happy to see more popping up! I came here with my family on a Sunday morning. We joined the waitlist online so that when we got there, we could be seated right away. I got the Florentine Benedict (poached eggs on ciabatta with spinach, avocado, tomato, and hollandaise) which came with mixed greens dressed with lemon. It wasn't the best benedict I've ever had, but it was solid. I also got a Carrot Cake and Pecan Pancake for us all to split, which was super delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Overall, a great addition to the severely lacking brunch scene in Lynchburg!

I haven't been to a first watch in years. The first one I patroned was in VA beach. I was in town visiting family and came here on a Friday morning. We were sat promptly and service was good. My food was ok. I opted for the trifecta . I got pancakes which were crumbly and dry even with syrup butter and blueberry compote. The eggs were eggs. . The bacon and my iced coffee were the best part. The last time I'd gone I sat outside . My mom had never been. So when it came to check out neither of us knew we needed to walk to the front. We sat for another 10+ mins waiting for our waitress to come and take our payment. It wasn't until we saw another person walk up to the front with their receipt did we figure out we needed do the same to pay. We had alot to do that day so it was a waste of time and should definitely be mentioned.

Best pancake in town! Went there after I have recovered and they did not disappoint. It was my partner's first time going there and he loved how their OJ were freshly squeezed. The eggs tasted very healthy I guess it's because their eggs are caged free as they swear by. Will be back for sure!

This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and it will not be my last. The food was very good. The service was top-notch. The atmosphere was very inviting.

Absolutely amazing. This was our first time visiting a First Watch after a ton of recommendations - it exceeded expectations. The waitress was one of the nicest waitresses we've had anywhere. Service was fast even though it was very crowded. We both got the turkey sausage gravy with biscuits, eggs, and potatoes - 10/10, my boyfriend said it was the single best breakfast he has ever had. The breakfast mocktails were great too - we recommend the purple haze especially! The atmosphere was great - very open, bright, and clean! This is probably my single favorite breakfast place in Lynchburg. (Despite some other reviews complaining about the prices, you get a LOT of food that is super high quality, so I think the pricing is as it should be!) (Note: I have to have decaf coffee and the only thing I was saddened by was them not having decaf as part of their coffee menu! But it ended up being ok because the purple haze was amazing!)

The service was good, but the food was not. Even my pancake was burnt. I hope that's just an issue with them being new.

Amazing! More than I could ever ask for. First, amazing…read morestaff! I went in bright and early 6:45am. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. Get the CINNAMON RAISIN PANCAKES, while you still can. Perfect crust! So cinnamon-y sweet I ate the whole thing without syrup! Soft scrambled eggs were like heaven. Pork sausage links were so juicy. The grilled potato's so, so good, paired with the sausage it was the perfect amount of salt. I also got a side of sautéed mushrooms, you cannot go wrong with that combo if you love all of these things. The chef really cares for his craft. The vibe of the Acorn Hill Lodge And Bistro is absolutely adorable. Neon light sign in the window, Christmas lights wrapped around supports. Not too bright, not too dark. Again, perfect for early morning! They have more amenities and businesses on sight I hope to check out in the future. No photos, I ate it all too fast. Sorry, not sorry. 10/10! Get those Pancakes!

The waitress never apologized or explained. I had to ask for a box and the check because she was just looking at me without saying anything. Also the food wasn't fantastic either. The eggs weren't totally cooked, the quesadilla was soggy on one side, and I asked for an English muffin but got white bread instead. We asked for berries on the French toast and that was not added. For waiting 45 minutes the meal wasn't anything special. Im giving it a 2 star because the food wasn't disgusting and the environment was relaxing and laid back, oh and the friendly black cat when we walked in was cute.

It wasn't busy…read moreduring this visit, which made the outcome more noticeable once the food arrived. **FOOD** The bagel breakfast sandwiches missed on basic execution. Bagels came out cold and firm, closer to hard than fresh. The egg and cheese portions were light, leaving the sandwich dry and unbalanced. For the price, it doesn't hold up. The latte didn't help. It tasted flat and mechanical, like it came straight from a push-button machine rather than being made with any care. Both kids left food on the table, which doesn't happen often. That usually tells the story without needing much explanation. **SERVICE** Ordering was simple and the food came out without delay. No issues with accuracy, but the interaction stayed at a surface level. It moved efficiently, just without much attention beyond that. Service: **AMBIENCE** The space is functional and sizable, but dated. It feels built for volume rather than comfort. There's nothing actively wrong with it, but there's also nothing pulling you to stay. Ambiance: **CLOSING** There's a disconnect between what's being charged and what's being delivered. The foundation is simple. Bagels, eggs, coffee. None of it requires complexity, just consistency and attention. Right now, it leans too far toward routine without enough care behind it. The steady traffic is hard to explain. Ratings Food: ** Service: *** Ambiance: *** Overall: **/* Personal Disclaimer: I value small, independent restaurants and want them to succeed.
